✓ Not much of a fix reallyThe update claims that it fixes the crash that happens when selecting some dialogue options. However it's not really much of a fix since now it just causes the text to glitch out and keep repeating itself when selecting these options. Only way to then continue playing is to quit the game. The game then forgets you ever pressed that option so essentially you still can't select these options after the supposed 'fix'. Other than that the story seems interesting so far which makes the current problems even more frustrating. I just want to play the bloody game! Once the current issues are addressed I'd easily recommend this game but at the moment I just find the whole experience to be far too frustrating to get any enjoyment..LukeWasTakenWasTakenVersion: 1.0.1

✓ Tropiest story in historyI am not far but so far this story is a collection of TV tropes so deep it’s hard to keep from laughing. A religious society is actually evil and hiding secrets. A person discovers a foreign culture and starts developing a 21st century critique of it in moments. And on and on. If it ever gets more original I will update my review. ✓ ‘SallrightHow much enjoyment you get out of this will probably depend a lot on your own personal background as the first chapter uses nationalistic and religious narratives to propel the story. So if you get hung up on those things you may be left feeling offended. Those things aside there’s some stuff to like and stuff that’s not so great. On the upside the developer put together an art and sound package that fits the game well. The story is passable and of sufficient length that I doubt you’ll finish it in a couple of hours like some Tell Tale games. And whether you consider their story elements original or not it does at least feel like they have their worlds and races somewhat thought out. No Klingons or Wookiee’s (so far👍 ). On the down side I’d say the English is good but not always fluid. I don’t know if this was poor typing or someone just not knowing exactly the right phraseology. Technically the game seems too stick you with a predetermined number of choices that fit on the screen and if you then don’t choose a certain option early you can find yourself stuck until you clear away some dross. In other words I don’t think they necessarily use a dialogue tree and in the instances where time is critical it can make a difference. Is it worth a couple bucks, yeah, if you like the old school story based games. Will I buy the next chapter, eh, maybe if I get a desire to delve back into their universe and see what creatures and worlds they’re creating, otherwise I’m not a fan of the protagonist that I’m stuck with playing..Ih8tnknamesVersion: 1.0.6

✓ Pretty goodThis is a pretty enjoyable "choose your own adventure" gamebook that explains some of the background of the Out There universe. I found the story to pretty interesting, and while the writing can be a bit clunky on occasion, it is still better than most of the other gamebooks that I've played. As with Out There, the graphics are absolutely the strong point. On a final note, I was a bit disappointed that the description didn't mention that this is only the first episode, so ends pretty abruptly after about 2 or 3 hours. ✓ Needs improving.Beautiful artwork and an interesting story... ruined by poor game mechanics and bugs. When you die you reload at last 'check-point' but these don't seem to exist. I have played far though the game and death brought me right back to the start. Great, I gotta tediously go through it all again to get back onto the ship. ✓ BuggedDon't waste your time. On iOS this game is unfinishable. At the end of chapter one it is impossible to get the tool from the maintenance guy quickly enough. You can get it and capture Nyx but you will always did to the AI. ✓ Shouldn't have bought the bundleI had heard of Out There omega and just impulsively bought the bundle in th App Store, but after giving this game a solid shot, I should have stuck to just Out There Omega. This interactive short story was not for me. I could not maintain a suspension of disbelief. I really liked Out There Omega and played it for hours and will probably play it more, but I doubt I'll work my way through Chronicles again. ✓ Some odd inclusions.I didn’t play the entire game. So, that’s a strike against me for possibly coming to an erroneous conclusion. (God help me, now all I hear in my head is Trump saying, “There is no collusion”) Anyway, there are a number of references to Christian religiosity, however I got confused when there were several references to a, “Catholic Cross” I’m a catholic of (at this point the writer closes his eyes and softly clears his throat) 3 score years and I never knew that a Catholic Cross was any different than that used by that used by our Protestant brethren. So I thought that was a little weird. An importantish military protagonist in the story is portrayed wearing a Roman collar. I think I know which way the wind is going to blow for the rest of the game, in reference to a not so subtle anti-Catholic drift, so I stopped playing. ✓ Episode 2 was announced 2 years ago...(My original review was 5 stars, but that was a long time ago...) I loved Episode 1 (though it’s super linear, don’t kid yourself), loved Out There: Omega Edition (still play it from time to time), overall I love everything Mi-Clos Studios produce; my gripe is how long loyal fans have waited. Let me ask you... Would you watch a show that released their pilot episode and then took over two years to announce the episode 2 is ON THE WAY? No, you wouldn’t, you’d roll your eyes and stop caring. What about a comic series? Release the one and then go dark for over two years? Not happening. Episode 1 is good, but the ending is linear, and given the way its structured, it implies your choices have meaning, and maybe that will be apparent in Ep. 2, but I doubt it, since the cliff-hanger ending to Ep. 1 was a complete bottle-neck. Again, cliff-hanger ending, and over two years+ to even announce they’re looking for beta testers? Not cool. And then they’re wanting to release Ep. 2 as a separate purchase? This Ep. 2 better be huge... Don’t buy Ep. 1 until we know for sure they have a set release date. P.S. I love the Out There universe, it’s honestly one of the best sci-fi universes, the lore is top notch, but going dark this long is over the top. Ep. 2 better be mind blowing. P.P.S. ✓ Biased against ChristiansYou can’t tell this from the description, but as the story progresses, you learn that the society is very "religious," and claim to be believers in Jesus the Savior. But this turns into an evil thing and they are not as innocent as they appear. Basically, it has the same anti Christian feel as The Handmaiden's Tale. The app would crash" I'm now talking with the president and it crashed again, this time however when I click continue game it just crashes, I open it again, crashes. Update # 1: I started a new game but when selecting the same game crashing options as before the app does not crash but will instead shrink the writing of the question and then repeat it in long script, it's completely not playable. I've been reading all the context without skipping dialogue as the story is quite interesting and entertaining which many stories fail to be able to do. There's a big problem with a bug though, certain dialogue options that you select immediately make you exit the game and you can't select that option which effects my progress of the game. ✓ Game is brokenI'm a big fan of Out There so was really looking forward to playing this but the game is horribly buggy. That's pretty unacceptable for what's basically a text adventure/interactive novel. While I didn't get crashes like another reviewer, many of the dialog choices create an endless loop where you keep asking the same question and won't let you progress without quitting and trying again with a different dialog option. Thought it was a fluke at first but it happens with at least one option in every dialog tree within the first 15 minutes of the game. There's no point in playing if big dialog choices are unavailable because of a bug. I'll give it 2 stars though because I believe mi-clos will fix this soon and I'm compelled by the story to keep playing. ✓ Good...and bad :/There was a compelling story, which I appreciated greatly, beautiful visuals and a great soundtrack-the "gameplay" itself felt like a puzzle, which was a nice change of pace for me. I care about the characters, and I make every choice carefully. In all these respects, and more, it was a great game. But... It felt sooo short. To the point of where I felt ripped off. It doesn't feel massive and expansive like Out There, and I beat the game within a few hours, unlike Out There. From what I can tell, the story seems very linear, without much room for real choice. It's more like you're exploring the options rather than discovering new ones, if that makes sense.
