Warhammer Quest 2 for Negative User Reviews

Beautiful, but disappointingI loved the original (and the board game) so was very excited when this came out. The game is beautiful. No doubt about it. However, all of the characters feel pretty much identical. They have different stats, yes, but they play identically. Fighting with a great sword? Move, attack. Attack, move. Got yourself a sorceror? Move, attack. But this time at range. There is just no variety. Level up and do exactly the same, but with different stats that make no visible or discernible difference. And the change in the deathblow mechanic is ridiculous. Previously, if you defeated an opponent with one mighty swing then your attack would carry on to the an adjacent opponent. Now, sometimes, randomly, depending upon your speed, you will make a second attack for free. Even if you haven’t killed the opponent you were attacking. So, not much death in the deathblow. Overall, so disappointing. I want to love this game, but I can’t..Version: 1.004

This game crashes too frequentlyI enjoy the game, and I enjoy the strategy. I haven’t wiped yet in the game, but I’ve frequently had characters die and suffer with injury. I love that the game can be high risk and punishing (but not too punishing with time gates that you pay off with real life money). The game just needs polish. 1. Some abilities don’t include all of their info in their skill description - like their range, uses, or if they friendly fire. Some stats, like crit rate, are a mystery. 2. The game crashes a lot. 3. If you are a min-maxer, then you might find this game frustrating. There is a lot of rng in stat points. Leveling gives your character a random stat increase, which would be fine if they wouldn’t give intelligence to your characters that can’t use spells. I’d appreciate a service to reassign stat points for a gold cost. Also, some recruits of the same class have more base attribute points than other recruits of the same class of the same level. I wish this was more obvious with a representation of X/5 stars or something. And, maybe have a mechanic to merge recruits of the same class into one recruit with more stars. For now, I have to add up all of the stats (and divide the health by 5), then subtract that number by their level to find out their base value. That’s too much math and memorization for me to bother with buying a recruit with higher base value at a tavern..Version: 2.404

Rip offGame requires money and further IAP. I purchased a hero but none of the other items e.g. Weapons and skills came along. It is even worse than the generic hero you find. Hero portraits are also terrible looking which is really what is driving me to quit the game. Furthermore your skill allocation on level up is random, so high elf Mage keeps getting Hp or strength but no intelligence, there are no skill for mages to use, I'm at the 4th main quest and the only purchased skill for one of my elf Mage works 1/4 chance and takes two turns to cool down. Seriously flawed game. And the company doesn't resolve your enquiries about the failed purchases. Blacklist this game..Version: 1.004

Nice but I feel I paid for a demoNice game, combat is well done. But you have to pay for the game and then pay for most character and pay for other chapters. Also everything cost way too much gold and you have to grind too much or pay real cash for gold. You need to pay again to unlock the other 90% of the game..Version: 2.301

Needed tweakingDon’t get to hung up on comparing this game to the first . The game is a step up graphically from the first one . The game play is a little harder because line of site is needed . Weapons and equipment features need adjustments . I gave the first game five stars. This game is well on its way to five stars . The developers respond to feed back wich is one star right there ..Version: 2.003

Healing wounds is terribleRequire to level a unit to heal there wounds is a terrible idea, 1 I need to save up gold and exp and not lvl that unit until I can level him multiple times because I worry of some random event will permanently screw one of my characters over unless I can level him to remove said wound/debuff, get rid of it and make it like war hammer quest 1 were u get to town and it goes away or lasts a certain amount of dungeon runs.Version: 2.401

Too repetitiveThe game is simply always the same : enter a dungeon (the room quickly become recognizable), kill the same monsters (about 7 different types) get 3 loots. Most of the classes are locked and you get a single region to play in. The full game would probably cost over 40$. Ridiculous. Avoid this game, it is not worth it..Version: 2.405

Good game but crashes a lotAs title, good game but fed up with crashing on every other quest. Expect more from a paid game. Update - more stable after latest update. Big improvement. Update 2 - now crashing again at start on quests. Really need to sort this out as unacceptable bugs..Version: 1.008

Great potential marred by microtransactionsLoved the look and feel of this game, really puts you into the feel of the end times. The graphics are amazing for a mobile game and the music is outstanding. The writing, though riddled with spelling errors is very tongue in cheek and captures the spirit of the Old World well. The combat was interesting at first but I quickly lost enjoyment as the formula of opening the door to the next room and bottleneck the enemies became tiresome. There’s no particularly fun class to use as they don’t gain innate abilities through levelling, their specific talents are bought from the shop and take up a valuable inventory slot. Levelling also comes at a cost to get stat increases of which you have no input into. This leads into the issue that makes the game painful, after paying $8 for the game (not a large sum) you then only have the option for unlocking the other 6 classes for a whopping $4.50 each, and new areas that come at the same cost of the game roughly again. You are also encouraged to spend money on gold because levelling up your characters/buying their abilities can leave you high and dry. Overall I would have liked to see the same model as Death Watch, where you earned gear through the loot boxes but they were purchasable through in game currency with no need to use real funds. The levelling system for the characters was also more compelling with their abilities being innate to the character and not purchased with gear money. A good game, hampered by the use of real funds to unlock everything in it..Version: 2.003

Not great, very boring and repetitiveSo you start with a blood Knight, a dark eleven sorceress, a wood elf and an empire warrior. The weapons, armour and items won’t change much from what you first start with. So if you’re expecting a game where you can collect items to improve, you’ll be disappointed. Further more, you can’t learn any new skills. You buy skills from over priced shops. The skills are very poor and don’t help you much. The levels are all the same. There’s maybe 3 different environments. You only get the first area with this download, you then have to purchase the others. Not a fan at all..Version: 2.311

FunThe game is fun but the game is to hard at act three. Also the level design can be pretty dumb. The time you get the elf all the enemies have massive piercing weapon reductions beside two of them you rarely see and die to anything in one hit anyway, making them useless, and the ambush mechanic isn’t used for Keeping the player at a faster pace so he needs to rush through the dungeon, it’s used at random and no matter what five new enemies just teleport to you. A good strategy for starters is a great sword wielding captain with full plate. He can just stand where he is and cleave through gor herds and Minotaurs. Also when you get the fire hammer I did not use it cause the fire it creates on the tile blocks you and the fire damage overtime is to small to make a difference as in if a pox zombie has 12 health and takes 6 damage from the fire then next turn he takes four, but even if he doesn’t take fire damage he still is going to die to the next six damage, and now the fire is blocking your way unless your willing to take the four chip damage for three turns (you never want to take chip damage).Version: 2.301

Constant crashes on iOS 10Crashes on just about everything from starting up the tutorial to loading a new dungeon and opening doors to a new room..Version: 1.003

Don’t buy DLCThis was my favorite mobile game until I fell victim for this games money trap. After beating the first set of challenges (without DLC) I was disappointed at the lack of more difficult dungeons to play. Naturally I download the DLC looking for a challenge (because I highly enjoyed the raw version of the game), only to find out the next levels you purchase are for beginners! All that grinding for nothing. From one avid Strat player to another: save your time. Or simply play to only beat the first 10 challenges (don’t get invested)..Version: 2.404

Good graphicsBut the gameplay is very limited maybe this is due to restrictions from licensing a Warhammer board game. Maybe drop the association with Warhammer so you have more freedom on the game play. What about special actions for each character Thought I would have a look see if this game has got better but sadly the gameplay is still seriously bland. If you like tactical games this is not it.Version: 2.311

Too many IAP!Paying 8 dollars upfront is just a beginning , I am quitting this game because I don’t wanna waste too much money on a mobile game. See you later.Version: 2.312

Walk Into Room... Kill RatsUpdate: downgrading rating. While the graphics and setting are great, I really resent paying for a game that has business model which makes you pay to advance your characters. Dungeons become exponentially harder, and finishing them is how you earn gold to level your characters up (the cost of which also increases per level, of course). Shame on you Games Workshop. Original review: Like the title says, this game is tediously repetitive—kill all spiders, Ambush! Okay, kill all nurglings, walk into next room... except this time the ambush is beastmen. The game has a lot of potential, but immediately feels like an uninventive grind..Version: 2.323

Amended scoreIt’s fun and all and looks ace but I’m a few hours into this now and although my characters have levelled up a lot each has only 1 or two skills and these are gained by the equipment. This limits the play enormously and is a massive step back from the brilliance of the first game. Also the font on the cards is small, so small infact that I struggle to read the blinking thing and my eye site is fine. The story / map is also hard to follow as quest markets stay up when done and the main story line is a task to find. All in all Boooooo.Version: 1.011

Its okay ...The gameplay is familiar... the weapons and skills are ok ... the worst thing about this game is the enemy spamming , you could be “surprised “ by enemies so many times and they are so annoying ... The quality of graphics and stability of game are very high ... wish there was a faster gameplay option , it can be slow moving overall.Version: 2.301

Still needs workThe script has a ton of typos, such as incorrect tense usage and incorrect word choice. Also, the side quests barely seem to show up. Sometimes when I’m scrolling around the map I will randomly find a quest but these are not not visible and if I click off of them I can never find them again..Version: 1.008

Gorgeous but soullessThey've returned to their 'Hunters' system. The gameplay works fairly well. I like it better than the previous Warhammer Quest system. The maps are utterly gorgeous, however, they have no function (other than creating confusing LOS problems). There is nothing to do in a room other than move through it. No searching. Nothing to discover. Incredibly boring. Warhammer Quest was hard because of the magic/random events that could occur each round. Those are gone as well. Basically open a room, see what's in, kill them all, go to the next room. Wash, rinse, repeat..Version: 1.003

Very disappointedLoved WQ1, this one....not at all. It’s a premium game, I bought the expansions right away because I was excited. Put down a lot of money for an app, only to find out it has a free to play in app purchase format. What I mean is, you never make enough gold to level your characters so they endlessly stay well below their experience, they have enough points to be 3 levels higher but the game doesn’t reward you with the gold required to actually level them. You have to pay cash to buy the gold to level them.... that’s what you see in a FREE TO PLAY game.... not a premium game. Shame on them for their greed, it’s an app, I already paid a lot, now you want more just to level my guys? Horrible business model and utterly insulting. On top of that the story is lacking, I didn’t even realize I had finished the first chapter, nothing happened, I did the last battle then figured I must have to change to one of the expansion areas....something missing here. And lastly the art sucks and the game has no ambience. It’s too bright and white, lacks all the feeling from the first game..Version: 1.011

Short, easy and expensiveThe game looks good and the game play is ok. All the dungeons are all very similar and it’s easy to wait by the door and pick off the enemy. The AI is pretty dumb so it’s no real challenge. What I did find shocking was the cost of the add on levels. I wasn’t expecting them to be only 10 dungeons max. The most ‘difficult’ level only has 7 dungeons. I finished the entire thing including the expansion packs over a weekend, and I can’t see any replayabilty as you have to pay to get new characters and the game is too easy to be bothered. Conclusion Too short, too easy, too expensive..Version: 2.405

Good but needs some improvementsGood game overall if you liked the first wh quest. Issues: 1. Not enough unique monsters/bosses. 2. Some upgrades don’t seem to work (looking at you vampiric bite, never returns 5 health as it stipulates..) I like how it captures the end times a bit and has interesting playable characters (ie blood Knight, dark elf sorceress). Fix the issues add some more dlc regions and it will be good z.Version: 1.008

Kind of boring and unoriginal. Too much IAP engineering.Update: Really bummed at the poor rate of gold earning and the super high cost of doing anything. For the cost of this premium app, levelling up, buying anything, and the low return on selling is WAY out of balance. How about this ex-Rodeo devs: I would have loved it if you just worked on Hunters for years. It was a great level of depth, in game story telling and value. You work on WH has been shallow and too expensive. I think I’m done trusting you post-Hunters 2. The critics might love you but it’s clearly exaggerated. You should be offering more value. If it’s the cost of work with GW, drop them. WQ top down looks like any fantasy game out there. Looks great but honestly it’s a bit boring. You against a horde in simple turn based battles with no apparent hurry other than that repetitive music to excite you. I mean you get 3 reward cards at the end of a battle that can contain actual people in your team! There’s little way to invest in the characters. The over world map is as confusing as hell. I could tell which region I was in when I zoomed out. Also it looks like there’s day 1 DLC already. For $7 this $5 story addon better be good. If it’s anything like what you’d have to slog through it won’t be. It’s like the soul of Warhammer is lost..Version: 1.004

An unfortunate disappointmentThe developers have been quick to issue updates and you can tell they tried with this sequel but I’m sad to say that they missed the mark. I don’t have time to go through all the problems but it is just mundane churning through dungeons with no feeling of progression..Version: 1.008

Its not workingIts not working for me at all it is just stuck trying to load for minutes right when i open the app i have iphone 5 says its compatible.Version: 2.404

Keeps CrashingGreat game. Good improvement from the first one. Nil issues other than an occasional crash on IOS11. However, just crashed on a mission and now each time I restart it crashes again. Can’t play at all. Very disappointing..Version: 1.003

Same flaws as the 1st WH QuestWhat could be a great game is seriously let down by the terrible representation of weapon skill for these ‘heroes’ as they are constantly out-hit by every enemy and it makes them look like complete numpty’s. that coupled with the fact that ambushes are ridiculous and traveling encounters are in dungeons even though you are taking roads etc, make it an easily forgotten title. Graphicss are not gonna sell massive amounts alone devs. Btw- limiting inventory makes for an unenjoyable experience as well. Hopefully these points can be addressed although I won’t be holding my breath. Definitely won’t be purchasing dlc map packs or extra characters while it’s in its current state. On top of this, the magic items and war gear are at best average, and generally completely wishy washy in the way they work, more often than not being just as detrimental to the hero as beneficial. % chances stayed for effects/abilities are complete garbage as simply noting results will clearly show. The touch controls on my iPad Pro are slow and laggy to unresponsive, and I seriously question if any of the dev team have prior experience or knowledge of even the most basic rpg, fantasy based meta or even the source original game as I’m almost convinced that the Elf Glade Guard is really a retarded chimpanzee in disguise as ‘it’s’ skill with a bow is absolutely non elven or even standard primate. Just watching a random skirmish with my 4 level 9 characters looks like a bunch of hyperactive special needs children with nerf weapons in a free for all. I mean seriously, what work did you do to make this as it’s almost a complete rip off of Rodeo Games original, and then made worse in every way bar the graphics, but even the original WH Quest got a graphics upgrade, so again I’m not sure. Lift your game Perchang and respond to your customers or I’m sure your future won’t be as profitable as desired..Version: 2.003

Fun, but system is built around micro transactions.Ambushes in dungeon happens way too often, acquiring handi caps to characters, if injured until leveling. Leveling requires GOLD! New Skills require gold, weapons and new characters. (There is a small chance on finding RANDOM characters, skills, and weapons) some game mechanics don’t function properly Like the ambushes or difficultly of a dungeon. This is absolutely a free micro transaction game, in a paid for game guise. I don’t mind purchasing things in some MT games. If this game was free to DL I would give it a higher score, but I hate marketers who mislead for profit!.Version: 2.404

Absolute shockerPaid all this money just to even compete and it doesn’t get any better. Poor character progression, have to buy gold just to even level up, close to no improved gear as you progress. Turns out I was mugged. Should report Perchang to the cops. Love Games Workshop but they shouldn’t have allowed this to get through. If I hadnt already spent money on it I wouldn’t continue with it. That and I only play it when I’m flying thank god How come there’s no 0 star option in the review? Stay away please!!.Version: 2.405

Laggy as hell on ipad mini 2....This game seem good, but it’s the only game in my collection that is laggy as hell... too many shaders, fx, and so on that we can’t desactivated... UI is boring, and do not have the Warhammer feeling in it. Well i am very disapointed by this game and think that Warhammer Quest 1 was better in many way except the full 3D that Warhammer Quest 2 has.... Hope to see « real »optimisation for all devices... because hey! Not everybody has a IpadPro guys.....Version: 2.003

Good, but not as good as the originalConsidering that the first version, while available, isn’t being supported anymore this is the next best thing. The game does not have the challenge or the charm of the first one, but it is very slick and professionally presented. Other than the Warhammer license there isn’t much to set this game apart from a horde of competitors. In short, not bad... but also not great. Could have really capitalized on people coming to it as fans of the tabletop game instead of another generic fantasy turn based dungeon crawler..Version: 2.404

Can't play itThe game crashes after the intro story ends so I haven't been able to experience any gameplay..Version: 1.003

Needs an update badly to fix bugs.I want to love this game so badly. The bugs though make it hard to like. Every AOE weapon and spell does not work properly. It just targets the person casting it and nothing else. If they fixed that then this would be a five star game no doubt. As is though...2 stars. It’s playable but super frustrating knowing that a lot of the functionality is not working as intended..Version: 1.101

Game crashes constantlyGood news! The game now waits until I try and start a mission before crashing. Also the DLC costs more then the base game!.Version: 1.004

Not as good as the first gameThis will echo many of the other reviews here but WHQ2 just isn’t as good as the first game. It’s pretty and he mechanics feel good and intuitive to play with, but the lack of individual feeing characters, items or skills make the game a bit uninteresting - I haven’t found a reason to buy a new weapon or skill yet as it makes little difference what you use. It’s also very hard. Making your characters stronger through levelling up is a tried and tested mechanic, but the cost of levelling and the paltry sums of money earned per dungeon mean my characters all have way, way more xp than I can afford to level, and as a result aren’t strong enough for the later dungeons. In summary: more character, weapon, skill variety and individuality needed, and more rewards/loot per dungeon could fix what seems a broken game..Version: 1.011

BoringLooks nice, great franchise, lots of promise but...it is really slow to move and lacks depth in combat. It’s the most boring game I’ve played in a long time. If you had the first one, keep that as it’s more in depth and generally better to play. This is a massive disappointment! Garbage!.Version: 1.008

Could be betterStill the same as the first one with maybe a few new upgrades to how the game looks and some gameplay. All that time and money spent on the market scene and buying hiring new champions again, just superficial no depth It still cannot replicate as to what the tabletop boardgame offers. That component is the actual dice roll. This game all you are doing is walking up and hoping to land a hit on the enemy or be hopeful for a dodge. There is no depth to the game. It is all based of off their own randomization calculations. Gets boring after two scenarios Edit: nope just went down to 1 star now. After playing even longer, in order to upgrade your experience points, it uses the gold system. You have to search for "training grounds" pay more gold just to upgrade the characters. Stick to the first warhammer quest.Version: 2.003

Good-looking, fun but repetitive and expensiveLooks good, fun and faithful to the game but dungeons feel too familiar quite quickly. Game is very stable on my iPad Pro - not crashed once - but is expensive and progression feels lethargic. In-game treasures are miserly, and training is expensive, so you will need to make Coin purchases to have any fun, and - perversely - you don’t get to haul items, weapon or armour from defeated foes, simply pick up pathetic purses, trinkets and dull, cheap weaponry. The alternative seems to be slogging again and again through side quests to save up enough dough. In value terms we’ve gone backwards since the first version and the great 40k version, and feels like the developers are trying to milk the faithful. Buy if you love the game but be prepared to pay to play..Version: 2.003

Fun but need Bug fixAt the moment I am enjoying the game. I am looking to continue further and buy more of the content packs. But there is one very bad bug that needs to be fixed before I pay for the next packs or character packs. Bug: AOE weapons that has a range does not allow the character to shoot/throw past the current character. (Bombs, Pistol of Exploding bullets, Scoll fireball and couple others. These items have 3x3 or bigger area damage and is a range weapon. But you can not target any character past adjacent block of the weapon holder. Which means your character also receive the damage if used. There are some good weapons that would have help my play store but are worthless in game. I hope the Devs fix this. Is so I moving the stars to 5!!! Graphics are nice. Characters are just a few races but you can get more ade additional heros. Currently enjoying except for the bug above. Easy to get the hang of and play. A little grindy for gold, but hey this is a RPG..Version: 2.305

Too hardIt as fun as the first one and way too hard. Given up after the second dungeon. Feels more like a pay to win which you didn’t need to do in the first one. It’s basically the same game. Zero improvements apart from being End Times based. Which sucked anyway. I would save your money and go back and replay the first one. It’s a real shame as the first game was awesome..Version: 2.205

Shameless cash grabBuggy mechanics, a homogenised set of stats and constant pressure to buy real currency to level your guys or have more than 3 classes of hero make this payed app leave a sour taste. Also the lack of strategy on a core level means every dungeon ends up being the same enemies rush at you in waves without strategy with frequent ‘ambushes’ to make enemies spawn around you often right next to your guys to extend time to complete mission. Really underwhelmed with this sequel and wish I could get a refund as it’s awful.Version: 2.205

Not as good as first oneFeel repetitive and lacks character depth. Weapon switching does not bring much to the gameplay, it’s almost annoying. You over level stages as soon as you hit act 2 and loot becomes irrelevant to you current party. Loot is highly lacking in diversity, efficiency and power..Version: 2.313

Permanent crash issue?Worked fine for two days. Now it crashes out on the load screen every time. iPad Pro. Will update review when the game works. Update. Hmm. Seems they’re pushing the positive reviews. Obviously when only a few customers are affected by permanent crashes it doesn’t concern the developers with an eye on their profits. Shame. Game deleted..Version: 1.004

Critical bugs cannot continue gameSo far this is just a better looking version of the first game. Game play is identical. The UI for load outs is cumbersome and lacks important information. The screen fades to black on every turn and this quickly becomes irritating to the eyes. There is no option to speed up game play. Shop purchases appear to be locked without explanation..or that is a bug.Games DO NOT save across multiple devices!!!!!! Edit-just hit a critical bug the prevents game from being continued. This game was not ready for release!.Version: 1.003

Nowhere close to WQ1 nor DeathwatchBit dissapointed thinking that I’m gonna get a sequel to the first version, gameplay is repetitive (stack the door with 2 tanks and 2 range heroes behind) explosive pistol + spam and heal the main tank. Rinse and Repeat on every dungeon which feels exactly like every other ones in the game. FYI: the current developer is not exactly the same team which develop the other twos..Version: 2.404

Could be a fun game if they weren’t so greedyPaying $8 up front, I expected a self contained game but I was wrong. If you don’t pay more money, you will be stuck perpetually grinding gold to train your characters let alone purchase new ones or gear. And when your characters gain a new level, they get random skill increases. Enjoy +1 STR on your mage and +1 INT on your tank. If treasure gained was more appropriate and skill ups your choice then this would be a 4-5 Star game. Instead I am going to stop playing so I don’t have to spend more money to get anywhere..Version: 2.307

Looks slick, lacks substanceHaving played through both this and the original, and writing as a big fan of turn-based strategy... The original was definitely better, and I wanted to like this but found it woefully unsatisfying in a few areas. WQ2 starts to feel repetitive fast. The results of levelling are pretty dull, and it costs more gold than you accumulate, so gathering XP becomes meaningless when all your characters need gold to level up. (Sure, you can pay more cash for in-game gold, but when you pay to get the game in the first place, why should you have to?) Loot is gathered at the end of each mission regardless of what you did. So there is no incentive to explore or kill more stuff in each dungeon. I found myself stopping playing out of boredom a few times during long dungeons. Why did I come back to it each time? Well... The game looks great, and progressing the campaign stories is moderately enjoyable. The damage types and variety of items are quite cool and innovative - these are two areas where I think there are some nice ideas here. However, there’s just not enough meaty depth to it. When you find some great item combos, you are rewarded by the game becoming easy to the point of being a trivial slog-fest. There are far better games out there for similar price or free..Version: 2.404

Lacks variety and individuality of characters; a step backwards from the first. It’s fairly fun, and it’s gorgeous (although the “rooms” could do with a little more personal character like those from the first game, and the board game they were based on, had), but it’s a step backwards from the first game. I can see how over time the different types of weapons (and resistance to them) could lead to some tactical gameplay, but right now every character feels the same and the gameplay is just tapping to attack the nearest enemy. Lack of magic is the worst example of the lack of individuality. The wand your sorcerer has might as well be a bow - it acts exactly like one. She has no spells at all. No buffs, no traps, no area of effect attacks, nothing - she’s just an archer, basically. I want to learn spells and have to figure out how to use them to best effect like in the first game, not just tap a target like any other grande character would. The same goes for other characters - they should be able to learn special, unique skills, with varied effects, not just attacks with different numbers. This lack of variety and individuality also makes levelling up feel completely unrewarding. What’s the point levelling up if you don’t learn new skills?.Version: 1.008

A shallow follow-throughMy review of this game keeps mysteriously vanishing... It is not as good as the original Warhammer Quest, a true great I had the pleasure of replaying after playing though this mediocre sequel. The graphics and atmosphere of WH2 is good but the gameplay had gone out the window. You’re still facing spiders and boring trash mobs at the end of the game. The new way of leveling and acquiring abilities is a shameless cash-grab, there are fewer items or enemy variety, and classes are not as nuanced or enjoyable. The entire new system was a bad idea. Conclusion: if Warhammer Quest 2 were simply a graphical update to the original, with new items, classes, enemies, and quests it would be ...a vastly better game..Version: 1.011

Just annoyingFrequently crashes..Version: 1.008

Big step backwardsI’ve never reviewed before but have been playing mobile games for years. I really enjoyed the first version of this game so was chuffed when I saw that this version had been released. Didn’t mind the price tag though I always get concerned about the follow on in-app purchases. I don’t know where to start, the game crashes daily and is stuck at stage 9 in the first region so I have to do other missions. Most of those are to gain repeat items I’ve already got so not very interesting. Gameplay is repetitive, I suppose I’ll have to buy another region or character to solve that. And XP far outweighs gold so you’ll be constantly chasing your tail on that one. I suppose I could buy some..... Not sure who sat in the room when they were discussing how to improve on version 1 but they we’re most likely money men and not creative thinkers. FLOP!.Version: 2.313

Greedy and poor qualityThis game is a money grabbing grind, don’t think the money ppl behind this have a shred of honour. Progression system is unsatisfying and you have to pay gold to level up! It stinks, the first Warhammer Quest whilst not being an exceptional game is far superior. Wouldn’t mind the pay for progression and additional characters if the game was free in the first place but one or the other, GREEDY! The game is no where near the quality where I’m even slightly tempted to shell out additional cash and rather regret spending money to get it the first place. Will make sure not to buy anything from Perchang or is it Ka-Ching 🤔 again..Version: 2.405

Too many In app purchasesPretty bogus to have half the heroes locked out unless you pay more money. I expected more for the price..Version: 2.404

Has potential but lacks oprimisation.I just wanted to share my 5 cents on the game. I can live with limited mechanics and average animations when the overall atmosphere is enjoyable and the core game feels and is solid. But for the love of the Emperor, optimise this game, please! Under 30 fps and choppy framerate in village view? Come on..Version: 1.008

Typical pay to playVersion one was a fantastic game! Version two ruined by difficulty levels and action points that mean you have to pay $$$ to get anywhere. So sad to see this happen to a game that you already have to pay for..Version: 2.405

Real badCompared to the first one, the only thing that is better are the graphics. The game is too slow, the drops are ridiculous, it feels unfinished and even though you pay $8 for this game the the only way to progress is to buy more IAP. This should have been a freemium game. So much more I could do with $8, instead, I'm deleting this game as it has wasted my entire day and money..Version: 1.003

Prepare to be enraged. If you love nurturing raw recruits into heroes, carefully deceloping a solid team, coordinating attacks, and carefully spending gold to gear them up, you will love this game. If you enjoy grinding for minimal gold, killing endless rats and spiders, having your characters destroyed by random in between dungeon events with zero chance of survival*, you will love this game. *two level 5 characters against FOUR Stone Trolls in a travel ambush! My characters had 15hp each. The Trolls had 100 each, regeneration, and resistances. Why even play it out? Just have the game randomly state “Your two best characters died because screw you!” The crappy loot mechanic is clearly designed to entice you to pay your way to win then they kill your toons outright to get you to pay more real money to try to replace them. Also- certain classes are completely gimped in later levels. So you wind up gearing/leveling the wrong ones. Glade Guard rocks in early levels and is worthless later. Do yourself a favor. Play Warhammer Quest 1. A lot better in practically every regard while still challenging..Version: 2.404

Gameplay is all right, but the graphics?I recently bought this game, and it functions acceptably as a typical run-of-the mill dungeon adventure game, but the graphics are distractingly awful. It looks like the creators gave the lead 3D artist the day off and let the intern have a go instead. The figures look like plastic identikit dolls, and bear little or no resemblance to their 2D illustrations, the movement is wooden and lacking any form of heft, and the whole thing is set to highly excited music which, due to the way the graphics fail to work, I find hard to get excited about or engaged in. Play the first edition of this game, or the Warhammer 40k versions such as Space Wolf or Space Hulk, as they are more ably constructed, but I would think twice before spending money on this game..Version: 2.404

Fails to live up to the fun of earlier gamesI loved the original Warhammer Quest and especially Deathwatch but this is a failure. I'm only on the second dungeon and it's too hard, requiring too much 'cat & mouse' faffing around. It feels like a cynical ploy to force you to buy extra characters with the expensive IAP. Very disappointing..Version: 1.008

ImpossibleFirst quest was great. The graphics are fantastic for a mobile game however there are too many mobs in the second level that are too tough to get through so it’s not possible to complete the second level..Version: 2.401

Misleading title?I bought this thinking I was going to get an improved version of the first game. This is not it. I want to play Warhammer quest, not some reskinned version of their other games. Does not feel like Warhammer quest at all..Version: 1.101

Seems to address a few issuesI had a review before where Perchang responded but don’t know why it’s gone now. So I will re-review again with suggestions. 1. I like that we have an inventory management system now, but it took about of guessing on how to get to it. Should devs prepare an instruction manual? Seems like after the tutorial, we are on our own. 2. Still haven’t figured out how to sell my extra characters. Again, a tutorial may help, or in game text guide. 3. Random dungeon crawl quest icons still need further optimization. Some are still stuck in mid air and the reward cannot be claimed when finished. It says I gained “XXX” but it does not show in inventory. 4. Reward description is still needed for the dungeon crawl icon. No idea on item reward stats until I finish dungeon makes it difficult to choose if partake in the quest or not..Version: 1.101

Game doesn't loadIt won't go past title screen.Version: 1.003

Too expensive. So I bought the game itself on sale for only a dollar. "What a great deal!" I thought. Turns out that you only get a small fragment of the game, then you have to pay upwards of $20 for the rest of it. This wasn't clearly stated in the description, and I feel ripped off even if it was only a buck. I didn't intend to pay money for a demo of a game. I'm not even sure how this is legal, it's completely false advertising..Version: 2.301

May or may not save after hours of playThis game is great looking with some interesting upgrades and I was enjoying my character progression but then... After playing near an hour on my iPhone 8plus I stopped playing. Later in the day, I picked up my iPad to continue via iCloud save feature. Weird. It hadn’t synced the save. No problem, let me check my phone again... Everything I did was not available. Instead I had an older save. All the level upgrades I bought, campaign I advanced, hard-to-find weapons purchased, gold acquired, all wiped out. GONE. You can’t play a campaign game with character progression and have a faulty save feature. Save yourself the frustration and find another game..Version: 2.305

DisappointedBought this a month ago, for £5, and was enjoying it. After two weeks of playing it and building up the character data an update wiped my saves. I’ve emailed the app support but never had a reply. £5 for this type of game is ok, but it’s absolutely not ok when £5 gets you a buggy game and no support..Version: 1.011

Decent but not as good as the firstDecent game. Don’t like that abilities are tied to items instead of receiving abilities upon leveling up like the first one. Game is pretty laggy on my iPad Air 1. Surprisingly laggy to be honest. I like the cast of characters much more in the first game. Ranged characters seem to be much much better than melee characters so far. Haven’t felt the need to run melee now that I’m a few levels in when you can just blast everything with arrows and magic before they have a chance to get close. Haven’t purchased any of the DLC but since it runs so laggy on my iPad I may just wait to see if it releases on STEAM at a later date and pick it up there instead of investing more hours into it..Version: 1.008

DisappointedI was hoping this game would not be just another money grab like nearly whole mobile market but it is, honestly there is much to the characters. When they give you an item as a reward, if you don’t want the old game would at least attempt to give you a half decent value. Well this game does not even bother just at 10% mostly. You have two choices grind like hell or buy their gold, they can’t even hide behind saying the game is free. In my opinion this is even worse than Freenium. Yes the game looks nice but no not worth the price tag..Version: 1.011

Plays like a playable BetaI’ve played WHQ 1 more than all other gaming apps combined over the years. I’m a hardcore fan of most things WarHammer. I opened a brand New IPAD I was going to return just for this! Play testing and adjustments? Most attacks land to the point of overkill no matter what and some effects and spells have their positive or negative results go off weather the attempt was successful or not. Many updates later and the game still has so many glaring unpolished issues. In my opinion too much that wasn’t broken as far as game mechanics, structured rules and artistic rendition was changed just because and quite frankly isn’t as good as the first of the series. I just don’t understand.....😞 This F@c#$ me up internally as I was preparing to be AWOL from work focused on this game.....Version: 2.003

Insanely hardThe game is good but insanely hard when player advances to the later chapters, i.e. act 5 and onwards. It's virtually impossible to complete the game without buying a lot of IAPs. The game is designed to be extremely difficult, with AI having HUGE advantage over human player in terms of attacking range, HP, damage, numbers and waves after waves of spawn enemy units. The gold rewarded for free on completion of each act is barely enough to level up your characters, let alone buying new gears. I spent $5 on IAP but it didn't help much. Beware this is a money sink. Five stars for a good game, minus two stars for the developer's greed..Version: 2.311

Very buggyCrashes often. quests disappear. needs more testing of early game. wait a month or two before buying.Version: 1.0

Play the originalBetter Graphics buy in every other way worse than the original.Version: 2.404

First mission walk to the doorFirst mission: walk to the door is not possible to accomplish, because of a bug. Its fixed in the meanwhile. But there is already high doubt that Perchang was cabable enough for a project this size. Look at the minotaur model design... Games Workshop !!! Where is your quality control ? I enjoyed the first Warhammer Quest, but this looks like the reach for the quick money. It seems to be a non free to play .... but there is an internal buy coin system too. so nope i am out..Version: 1.004

Lacks depthThis game looks fantastic but there is a long way to go before the game play lives up to its looks. The first game was brilliant. It had the right balance of tactics and each character had its own unique feeling which was only enhanced as they levelled up. The equipment options where varied and had a real impact on the game WHQ 2 is missing any of this depth. The melee characters feel identical in play as do any ranged characters. Even the High Elf (in game purchase) feels identical to the available characters. The combat is one dimensional. Each character just hits with a standard attack which spends most of its time missing no matter how much you level up. Line or area attacks are almost non existent and the one I did find you have to target yourself?! Gone are any buffs or healing which have any real effect. Get used to your starting equipment too as most of the shops only sell items you have already or if they are “better” take more action points to use so don’t offer any real benefit. It feels like the game mechanics were rushed or simplified to hit a release date or focus on graphics. I really hope the devs improve the game soon! This has the potential to be amazing.Version: 1.004

Why reinvent the wheel? The original Warhammer Quest was a nice lift from the Games Workshop tabletop game with some nice tweaks. This one has invented a new system for itself which does not reference either and is pretty much inferior in every respect. The characters are bland and progression is not engaging. The graphics are nice (with the exception of the unfolding towns in the original which are now gone) but unnecessary, I would have been happier with more adventures in the style of the old game. A disappointment..Version: 1.004

Worst of both worldsWas bitterly disappointed when I purchased it on release and found it bland. Persevered only too find I couldn’t level up my characters due to the shortage of money obtained from gameplay. Stopped playing. Thought I’d give it another chance on this major update. Sadly nothing of any significance has changed. This is the worst of both worlds an expensive premium game with expensive purchasable add ons that also needs expensive consumables to enable you to progress. You could try grinding but the rewards are minimal and life is too short and better games are available, including the original..Version: 2.003

Missed opportunityTake a good idea and completely ruin it! Too hard and you can’t level up unless you’re in a specific area and have to pay so you’ve no money for weapons or armour! The worst money grabbing f2p doesn’t do this! Nice graphics! I paid 99p and still feel ripped off! This is the most brutally stupid annoying game yet! It punishes you for playing it!.Version: 2.307

Boring, shallow and micro transactionsBoring, shallow and micro transactions This sentence sums up this poor excuse for a game. Repetitive dull experience with anything remotely interesting gated behind extra spending including all characters and interesting items. Useless AI that don’t pose a challenge and no story/character development at all. Game developers you must try harder. I am embarrassed to have given you my money..Version: 2.404

Really hate the character designLoved the first one and my only problem with that was I wanted more of it, so was looking forward to this sequel. All looks great except the character design of hero’s. I can not like a single hero in the first set of four which realer puts me off. First one had warrior, dwarf grey mage and elven archer all great and went to buy few more hero’s. This u get an overly exposed unattractive female dark elf looks like a man, old uncool warrior, tramp likelooking archer , and overly gothed some warrior. Some of the add on hero looks alright but the design of the first four does not encourage me to go and spend another 20-25 quid disappointed as the game itself is good sequel.Version: 2.323

Fun till it crashes. This game was fun in a simply kind of way, but it crashes whenever I try to open lvl 9..Version: 2.404

Worse than WQ1. Very disappointed. As a massive fan of Warhammer Quest 1, I was eagerly awaiting a sequel. I was tremendously disappointed. Dumber down gameplay. Extremely slow gameplay - both the story is slow AND the game plays slow. Too many needless fades and slow moving animations. It’s actually boring. I used to play the first WH QUEST 1 game for hours on end. I can barely play this sequel for half hour before getting frustrated at the slowness of.... everything. Save your money. Avoid this game. I play on an iPad mini 2 and iPhone 7..Version: 2.003

An underwhelming follow up to the original QuestThe original Warhammer Quest app was a fun dungeon crawl with enough new things to keep you interested. It feels like the programmers took everything that worked well in that one and made it worse. The game crashes at least once or twice a dungeon. The interface for gear and character info is slow and sloppy. Gold trickles in slowly in an attempt to get you to pay for in game purchases. No pride in the Warhammer name, apparently. Skip it. (or just go back and play the original a few more times).Version: 2.003

Too many changes from the originalIf this is to be a sequel to the first the mechanics should be similar. Where the first follows the basic rules and mechanics of the board game from the 90’s the second seem to be more like the dungeons and dragons mechanics which wouldn’t be bad but it just wasn’t what I expected. The there is the issue of the difficulty level skyrockets to fast. I get that they do that to get you to make in app purchases. Personally I would rather pay a few dollars upfront than be buckled and dimmed. I am also not crazy about the characters maybe I am just to hung up on the original. I have tried to get into it several times mostly because the original won’t work with the current iPhone version. I truly hope the newWarhammer quest silver tower is closer to the original.Version: 2.405

Pretty good but no varietyI found this great fun at first but then very quickly it became repetitive - you enter a dungeon, you kill everything and then you leave - there are no other quests or variations in the game play. I didn’t have the same problem others had with a lack of gold - in fact I quickly became rich by selling characters and items I had found in the side quests. I never needed to purchase additional gold. Once past level 5 and with a few decent pieces of equipment your party becomes completely invincible and you will be able to chew through the rest of the scenario and the expansion packs (which aren't worth the money), completing each dungeon on your first attempt without too much trouble. Had real promise at first so a bit disappointed in the end..Version: 2.405

$5 for little improvementIt might as well be Warhammer Quest. Nice sounds, graphics, Olde Worlde feel and all that. However, there is no innovation to differentiate it. Like the first game, too expensive and also eats your battery. Well...I just realized that there are only ten maps, unless you pay another $5. -1 star. Your game would have to cost less or offer more to get a better review from me. It’s just not any better than Warhammer Quest, for which I already paid $5..Version: 1.008

WH Quest 2Not bad, but crazy expensive for what you get. Main game has four character types, have to pay (a lot) to unlock three additional character types. DLC would make this a little more worthwhile, but is crazy expensive as well..Version: 1.101

Overpriced for full gameGot this game when it was 0.99¢ and I really do like it. The big problem and why I’m giving it 1 star is the horrible IAP’s. 5$ per expansion that has less levels then what the original game had, 2.99$ per extra type of character and I believe there is about 7 more. So in short I’m not paying 21$ to unlock a full game and the game gets 1 star because of the horrible price gouging in game..Version: 2.305

DisappointingWQ2 is playable, but it’s a REALLY substantial downgrade from Rodeos previous smash hits WQ1 and Deathwatch. The gameplay presents few challenges. The characters and abilities are uninspired. I’d be interested in trying out some of the additional heroes and expanded regions available as DLC but they’re prohibitively expensive. Through many patches and updates it still feels really unpolished, particularly when contrasted with WQ1 and DW. Lots of internal balance issues between characters. And the interface and text are just kind of ugly. Overall WQ2 is passable, but lacks soul. Disappointing given the passion the devs seem to have for the projected..Version: 2.003

Doesn’t workCan’t even start a new game. The only thing you can do is go into the shop. Will be requesting a refund..Version: 1.004

It’s like the original, but worseI really want to like this game. I love WH quest 1 and still play from time to time. This game has less crisp graphics, worse play dynamics (e.g WHQ 1 let you move all your action points and then attack but in WHQ2 attacking and moving draw from the same pool meaning that you have to keep watching how many spaces you can move by totaling the number of AP points you have, then subtract how many AP points your attack costs, which is often 2, and then only move that far - this makes each move painfully slow to do, compared to WH1s easy to do system), harder to navigate towns, slower gameplay during battles, an equipment inventory I haven’t yet managed to locate, and more. It also has fewer dungeons and heroes in the base version. If you’ve not yet got WHQ1, get that instead. If you do have WHQ2, just keep playing that. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bad game, it’s just worse than its predecessor quite substantially. A wasted opportunity..Version: 2.305

Game doesn’t load upThe game doesn’t load up. Not good for a game I had to pay for..Version: 2.404

Price???Price said $7.99 then I was charged $12.48😡😡😡.Version: 2.311

Not worth the costGraphics good, but same monsters and template. I agree with other reviewers that impossible to pass levels 7 to 10 unless you purchase gold. Impossible to purchase better equipment and level up characters without gold. No way to grind and get more gold unless you repeat the levels all over again. Also the reward for each dungeon is very sparse. I also found the amount of money they want for gold is very expensive compared to other games..Version: 1.101

Good but shortOverall the turn based play is pretty decent and the different character classes offer some nice variety. It’s fairly straightforward but with some tactical depth. The overall game is pretty short and can be “finished” in a few hours before needing to buy more dlc. Considering it’s $5 to get initially and $3 to unlock each character class beyond the initial ones, and another $5 for each of the next story portions it’s pretty expensive IMO..Version: 2.405

Broken gameSo many times I’ve tried to play this and like hundreds of others I get stuck with the whole crashes on title screen with easy 10+ hours searching for fixes I’ve given up shame as game looks good.Version: 2.323

So much potential wastedLooks good, plays very smoothly but there is no depth. Far too easy, story lines are uninteresting and poorly written. The missions need some variation (the ambushes being the only bit of difference to provide something different). Could do with some difficulty levels and a lot more item variation (and make it hard to get the good stuff!).Version: 2.405

Disappointed. Should be better by now!Great graphics, music and FX. You have to sit through the scrolling intro text over and over and over again with each new game. Really lame. Game combat resolution is cheesy. The enemy can hit my character at maximum distance 3 times in a row with their arrows, yet my character can be in the adjacent square and miss twice in a row. Poor combat resolution balance. Some scenes are literally impossible to win, so why have them? One ambush scene the game removes one of my characters and then puts them into a scene that us not even remotely possible win. The camera tilt is almost useful but the angle is too small. This developer missed a huge game immersion feature here. The camera should be able to go all the way down to character level as is done in ‘Demon’s Rise’. Then you’re in the game! And it appears that you have to suffer through the limited Tutorial with each new game. The game is stable though. Never crashed even putting it in the background a lot. Too many design flaws in the game not being resolved by the developer to waste over 2GB for. Regret spending the money. I think this game tries to ride on it’s ‘good looks’. I can’t, in all honesty, recommend this game. I find ‘Demon’s Rise’ way better and it has what this game either doesn’t or didn’t do well..Version: 2.313

Has potential, ruined by ambush mechanicI was really excited to dig into this game - its mechanics brought me back to ancient days of fun playing Shard of Spring and Demon’s Winter. Then the ambushes started. They are totally RNG based and throw a bunch of trash mobs at you seemingly every 3 or 4 turns. Apparently this was added in a patch, and when I checked the forms I read higher level players complaining about how annoying it was. Let me tell you that what’s annoying to high level payers is fatal when you’re starting out with level 1 toons. After reloading the third dungeon 3 or 4 times in hopes of finally not getting 5 trash mobs magically appearing in the midst of my frail characters, I gave up and deleted the app. TLDR: get a DOS emulator and play Shard of Spring. Game mechanics are the same and Shard is way better balanced..Version: 2.404

Great looking game that makes me miss WHQ1Almost none of the issues from the initial release were addressed. Still too easy. Lacks strategy from WHQ1. Gold is too hard to come by, and the fact that you can buy gold for real cash makes that seems even worse. Map still shows no info. Sound is still wonky at times. Now there are 3 new characters for $3 each and a new campaign for 5$. So for 14$ more you can get more of what got a game that should have been amazing a sad 2-3* rating. Such a missed opportunity. 😟.Version: 2.000

Buggy- character running through the flames settings themselves in fire. - automatic leveling of characters (not very role play) - dev are fixing quickly problems It’s a great concept but I’ll love to see a version with more content..Version: 1.008

So repetitiveI really thought this would be a better game, from the reviews and the description and the beginning of the game itself. It’s just moving from one dungeon to another with the same boring formula in each one... open door, face horde (1 to 2 of 3 different monster types), wash rinse repeat until you get to the end of the dungeon... then do the same thing in the next dungeon. (yawn).Version: 2.323

Buggy and limited/expensive; still entertains. The game feels a bit clunky and slow, because the equipment/weapons are limited, expensive, or locked behind IAP that is all-together twice the base price of the game. I can’t really recommend this; I don’t remember WHQ1 being this unfulfilling, even though it had similar limitations. Regardless, it has kept me entertained in the absence of a fuller-valued Tactics game. A few annoying bugs that need squashing: (1) Dark Elf Soul stealer spell does work with INT stat. (2) hitting attack before Deathblow starts wastes your AP. (3) similarly, AP is drained an extra 1 at times when using the quiver..Version: 1.008

TrashI was a fan of the first game but this one is terrible. Just feels so dull and boring. Even the characters are boring. Save your money.Version: 2.301
