✓ Good game ruinedI love the 1st game and most of the games this company makes. I like a lot of the new thing in this new version as well. But, the micro transactions ruin this game. You have a energy bar that limits your play, constantly waiting on timer to count down for things, and a premium currency, so on and so on. ✓ Great ShameKariosoft has been infected by the freemium virus. GP Story 1 was my favorite mobile game. I was excited for a sequel then noticed they changed the formula. They disrespect your time by showing a constant ad while adding fuel as an wait or pay to play meter. With so many great games out there, there is no need to play one that disrespects you. ✓ Game is incredibly funBut waiting 6 days for a task to complete is embarrassing and is turning me away from playing. Fuel is extremely hard to come by, I’m limited to how many refineries and storage tanks I can buy. Upgrading them to expand max capacity takes 6 days for 1k more fuel. This game was very fun and drew a lot of my time when I first started and things took an hour max to complete. Now there’s little reason to open the app while every build task takes 6 days. Update the game, pull everything to a max of 1 day and let us have fun again..Version: 2.16

✓ Ruined a masterpieceIt’s like Kairosoft sat down and said “how can we ruin the best game we ever made?” And they succeeded in doing that goal. They took a game you could pay for and then sit and play for hours on end and now you have a game with stamina points in the format of fuel and after you have done two races, you must wait 8 hours before you can race again. Want to build a new car? No problem, two hours wait. It’s a game you want to play but they deliberately put mechanisms in to PREVENT you from playing. Of course they dangle the carrot and say “if you want to keep playing, insert a quarter”. And there it is. It is a game you can only play for fifteen minutes a day or you can pay them for fifteen minute Increments. Awful, just awful. Kairosoft, you don’t even deserve the right to own this game anymore. You are a disgrace and have fallen so far from the greatness you once were..Version: 2.01

✓ Freemium 💩As others have said used to play the original loads and found the game a good time killer on long trips. This version is killed by the sheer greed of the developers. Why does it need a net connection meaning I can’t play on my iPad? Simply because if you don’t have a net connection you can’t spend money (they need to spend money on a professional translator as well because the no network error message is jibberish). The game pace follows the standard p2p model, do a bit and then either wait or pay to carry on. Carry this sort of model on kairosoft and you will destroy the fan base and goodwill that you have built up over the years.Version: 1.84
✓ Confusing messI loved the first GP Story and was hoping for more of the same. Motorsport Manager is amazing, but it doesn’t have the charm of GP Story. This is a confusing mess of a game. Terrible user interface, awful documentation, micro transactions, lots of clicking. I want to build a racing empire and race. This is a game that continually makes me do things other than that. ✓ Disappointment :(I had played Grand Prix Story for countless hours since around 2014, probably played through it 20 times since then. Was hesitant to download this one for a long time because it was free but finally went for it. They added a lot of good stuff to this game but the freemium model with IAP’s ruins it for me. I really hope they make a new GPS following the traditional kairosoft game style. Wouldn’t even mind paying more than the normal $5 because I know I will play it many many hours. I strongly dislike having to wait extended periods of time to do certain actions, its just not a fun game even if you paid to skip. There is no goal, no deadline, no high score to go for, no risk except wasting your time by having to wait hours for fuel to go into another race, just mindless gameplay..Version: 2.16

✓ Biggest letdown everIf this was a paid app, building on the strengths of the first game, making it deeper and broader, it would have been the only game I ever played on my phone ever again. As it is, it's the biggest load of freemium nonsense I've ever had the misfortune to download. Chicken runs? Pirate characters? Beyond disappointing. Insulting. The original game clearly had motorsport fans deeply involved in its genesis; the obvious puns, the Speed Racer references, at the same time the ease with which you could pick it up and just enjoy it, without needing to be a hardcore motorsport fan yourself, and reaping the rewards for the time you put in. Never, ever again. Kairosoft have got this so badly wrong in an attempt to make a bit of money through IAPs, I can't even play the old game anymore without feeling the taint of the new one. I have a lot of respect for Kairosoft and the games they have created, mostly back when single player story games could occupy hours upon hours of time like the original. However I soon realized this game was much different. There is a pay to win factor, buying nitro and other cars to do better. Also, repairing, building, and researching take actual amounts of time to complete (15 minutes, etc.). It is a little disappointing knowing this game was turned into a p2w, time progression app, but I still enjoy the game and I hope the company does continue to make games more similar to the originals (which were in my opinion the best). The online feature is pretty irrelevant and I don’t think adds any benefit to the game itself. While it seems like a Work in progress, the single player games without additional in-app-purchases were and still are far superior than these types.Version: 2.06

✓ Ruined a great gameGP Story is probably my favorite game on the iOS platform. The simple mechanics combined with lots of replay value and different strategies led me to put many many hours into that game. Naturally I was extremely excited when I saw that Kairosoft released Grand Prix Story 2. Unfortunately the in App purchases, pay-to-advance and constant distraction of ads killed this game me. So many of the visual assets were re-used from the first game, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing except that they just don’t make sense(the roadster is used as sedan model?) ultimately the ads and pay to play just absolutely kill this game for me. Kairosoft has gone downhill from the days of Game Dev Story and adventure town..Version: 1.89

It's not bad, but instead of a £5 game I'd play for years, I got an f2p game that after a week I'm bored of. There's no good reason other than stiffing the player and trying to get IAPs up for the padding out research times, etc. Sadly, there's almost the game I wanted here, but it's hidden behind enough trash that it's unplayable. ✓ Bad bad game upgradeMassive fan of the first game and that made me purchase a load of other games by the company. This is really not a good upgrade, the thing that made the first game (and indeed others) was that it was playable all the way through because it was addictive, the game play flowed and there was no waiting. Unfortunately this game has gone the way of many others with in game purchases, time scale waiting and spending ridiculous long timeline of farming. I will be deleting the game and I’ve been left massively disappointed in the direction this game series has gone in. Then you realise it’s fallen into the free to play trap, sure it’s free, but you’re not getting anywhere without paying or waiting for it. You can only race so many times before you run out of fuel, you can only get decent cars buy spending GP medals on raffles, everything takes an age to upgrade. Why couldn’t this just cost £5 or even £10 without all these restrictions? Also certain races will be described as “On-road” but they’ll be huge parts of the track that’s actually off road, so why doesn’t it tell you how much of the track is off road? Then you could prepare you car accordingly. On the plus side it has a lot more depth and a lot more cars. It’s just such a huge shame this is a “free to play” game.Version: 2.06
