✓ MehI tried this with friends. I really wanted to like this app, but it’s mostly unplayable for a few reasons. It doesn’t play alongside the tutorial campaign in the rule book. If you press the wrong button there’s no undo, which if it happens after your friends make a great dice roll it can be a bitter pill to swallow just to get back in sync with the app. It claims to control the imperial side, but it makes you have to control them yourself anyway. Basically it adds complexity instead of removing it..Version: 1.6.3

✓ I Was Excited; I Am DisgustedA couple friends and I just tried learning how to play Imperial Assault using this app. We were excited. Things were going pretty well through the first tutorial. Things got pretty awful during the second tutorial. To the point where my friends don’t ever want to use this app again; and I almost don’t ever want to play this game again. It was disappointing that the app doesn’t track the players. It was annoying trying to figure out some of the enemy’s actions. It was God awful dealing with the fact that the app stats and powers for the enemy units were completely different from the stats on the player cards at least half of the time. I was thinking about beginning to pick up some of the board game’s expansions, but right now I’m not interested in throwing away any money into this pit after my initial experience using this app’s support. This is a half-baked app. I know a lot of people were excitedly waiting for this app, including me, but this app should have been cooked throughly before it was released..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Great game but Jabba’s Realm crashesI love the game and I was so excited when Jabba’s Realm was added. Sadly, I have attempted the first mission of JR twice and both times the app crashes mid way through. When I try to load the saved game, it puts me back to the very beginning. ✓ Where are the other campaigns??Fantasy flight??? What the heck happened?!? How can you drop the ball like this. The app is really nice but it lacks a lot of campaign data. You can use this only for the core set and also for the Return to Hoth and Jaba’s Realm. Nothing else!!!! Not even expandable characters which this has a lot. Ex. When you add Luke Skywalker to the app, you would think he is a playable character but in those three campaigns, which are the only ones even though there are 3 more expansions on top of that, you can only use the characters that come with it. Why would I want to own Luke if I can’t play as him!!! Seriously. This could be as nice as Journeys in Middle Earth which is an app that fully utilizes all of the extra content that you purchase. ✓ Wow...I have never written a review for any game before now, unless it rewarded me in game for the effort. This game however is worthy of a bad review. Incredibly glitchy, really really poor gameplay tutorial, good sound effects was a plus but really honestly just a terrible experience all round..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Mostly greatFor the most part, I love the app. I have a few nitpicks though. 1: I don’t understand why FFG doesn’t add the campaigns and side missions from the physical game. My brother and I get together once or twice a month for a tabletop game night, and if the app had the story from the boxes then this would be the only game we play. 2: kind of in the same spirit as the first, new content is taking way to long to update. Circling back to my first point, you don’t even need to hire new writers. Just import one or two missions from the physical game every month or so. I’m sure that even most of the people who have already played that content wouldn’t complain..Version: 1.4.0
✓ FrustratingThe application is inefficient compared to other Fantasy Flight game apps. With Mansions of Madness, for instance, they made it easy to keep track of enemies and their damage. This app doesn’t, and it still requires an imperial player to keep track of enemy units and their damage. So there’s no way to have full on cooperative play. Also, the game has features that contradicts all the original rules to the game, allowing for a lot of potential confusion. The graphics are okay, though..Version: 1.1.0

✓ DisappointingWhile the app is certainly pretty to look at, it should be specifically mentioned that this app should be treated as a variant of Imperial Assault, but not as the game itself. This is because the app employs several “house rules” that are NOT part of the core game rules set, such as unit bonuses. The app is also missing several critical features on launch that are required in an app meant to fully automate Imperial Assault: 1. Full compatibility with all current Imperial Assault products, excluding expansions AND written materials such as campaigns. 2. Full AI automation. This would include the app tracking player movements, hit points, and other stats for the players and itself to allow the AI to make informed, strategic decisions. As it stands right now, the “AI” does none of those things, leaving the player to decide how it should act. This ultimately means that the players are never surprised at how the app will act because they are always presented with the possible outcomes and are made to make the decisions for the app because, while it should be able to so the work itself (the whole point of such apps in the first place), it lacks the artificial intelligence to do so. After such a long time, very disappointed overall....Version: 1.0.0
✓ Very… very, Disappointed…At first, this game had me going… but, due to the lack of work in this game. I have my issues, but the main issue is that you can’t see your character(s). Also… “end character?” Why would that be a feature? And due to the fact that you need the board game to play, due that -1 stars, -2 stars. Developers… please please pleaseeeee fix these issues. ✓ This App seems abandoned alreadyI know they added a few new features but this app has been out for months, how about some new missions? There are zero announcements about this by Fantasy Flight. Instead every update from this is pushing new card and board game expansions. If you’re going to make solo players excited about a product at least give us a roadmap. ✓ Pretty disappointingThis looked like it would be an enormous help to me since I only have a couple other people to play with and when one of us plays the empire it becomes a little ridiculous. But this app has major problems. The main problem is that it isn’t what it says it is since there is NO AI and the players are just expected to activate the empire’s troops with a small and set number of actions. In addition, many of the imperial troops have been tweaked so that they are better or worse than they were in the core game. If you’re looking to add a free campaign to your collection, albeit a short and very inaccessible one, this app is for you. But if you’re looking to replace the empire’s player with an effective AI, this app simply can’t do that for you. Really hoping to see some major changes in the future though..Version: 1.0.0
