Star Wars™ Dice for Negative User Reviews

FAKE PRICE It’s not 4.99This app is advertised as $4.99 to buy but when i purchased it it costed over $24. False advertising!!.Version: 2.0.4

Won't downloadSpent 5 bucks for an app that won't download. Not impressed..Version: 1.1.4

No regular dice, ie D20 available? Was this an oversight? Or was it decided to remove the dice?.Version: 2.0

Ok but missing obvious features.I like this app but for $4.99 I really expected more. Most importantly, for the Star Wars EotE RPG there needs to be automatic calculation of the result of Advantage and Threat rolls as they cancel each other out. That's the most time consuming aspect of the Star Wars RPG dice rolling and seems like common sense that it would part of this app. I would appreciate a greater selection of background images, too. And a randomizer. Also I would really have liked a Soundboard to compliment the RPG for blaster fire, hyperdrive, Wookie roars, etc. Finally, where is the landscape mode? I hope these features will be included in future versions of this app. They would really enhance the functionality..Version: 1.1.3

CrashesCrashes when loading stored dice sets :-/ There are pages of comments about potential improvements to this expensive app, and we get… an update to the physics engine 😳 iPad 3 latest OS Crashes with previously created dice sets so I deleted all my sets and created a new one. Still crashes. 😪 On the plus side the physics are noticeably better (!).Version: 1.1.2

Not badNot bad, but i can't update it. It says the app no longer exists... Hope it's fixed soon..Version: 1.1.4

WAS my favoriteThis was my favorite dice app till they removed the D4, D8, D12, D20..Version: 2.0.3

No iPhone X love apparentlyWorks well but poorly designed for the iPhone X. Lots of text and graphics cut off and it looks weird..Version: 2.0

New Version removes diceI really liked that I could use this app for other games. Now the standard, numerical dice are gone! Please bring them back..Version: 2.0

Features removedI paid for this app a while back when I was running a Star Wars TT game, and have occasionally used it since as just a dice-rolling app. I’m disappointed to find that in this update that functionality was removed. I understand adding more of the various unique game dice, and I think it looks and rolls well. But why take away features from a paid app? It’s literally no longer a thing I would have bought. Bring back standard dice and I’d change my review back up to a 4..Version: 2.0

Missing DiceWith the last update all of the standard RPG dice have been removed. They removed the d20, d12, d8, and d4. This is makes the application much less useful for anyone who plays other games..Version: 2.0

What happened? This has been my favourite dice app for years for both star wars and regular RPG, BUT the new version got rid of the regular dice! No more d20, d12, etc. Please bring them back..Version: 2.0

Great start, but needs just a bit more! This is a well-polished app, but for $4.99, it's missing some important functions. The sounds that are included with the app are great, but there should be a SOUNDBOARD function so that users can play TIE-fighter engine sounds, X-Wing laser fire, explosions, etc at their whim. There should be separate buttons on the roll screen to take advantage of the cool sounds and pilot quotes that are available. If these functions are added, my rating will automatically jump to 5 stars..Version: 1.0.3

Choose your device wisely...Be careful if you purchase this on iPad it won’t be available on iPhone unless you purchase it again and vice versa. VERY DISAPPOINTED.Version: 1.3.3

Lost functionalityThanks, dice roller worked great before the upgrade which removed all the useful features. Since I paid for this can I get what I paid for back, rolling rpg dice just not those for your games. Will try to get a refund good luck selling your games but I won’t buy them..Version: 2.0

DisappointedVery disappointed that this new version took out the ability to roll standard polyhedral dice. I wouldn’t have upgraded if I’d known that. :(.Version: 2.0

New modifications crippled usefulnessI used to swear by this app as I used it for not only my Star Wars specific but also my general d20 roleplaying. Now that all of the polyhedral dice are gone I have far less use for it, if any, as most tables I play prefer the physical dice. I have not tried to get the variant sounds that were in the last edition but on first glance that customization is gone as well. I really feel that the ball was dropped in a big way here..Version: 2.0

Changes dice after rollI got this for Star Wars Armada. About 90% of the time when you roll a double hit on a red die, it will roll over to a blank. It lands squarely on the double but, for some reason as the dice straightens out it rolls to a blank. This REALLY needs to be fixed..Version: 1.3.3

Sure, it rolls diceBut for a game with a non-intuitive system like the new Star Wars game, it should really tell you what the dice rolls mean. I mean, I got two scary things, three sparks and a dot with wings. Since I haven't absorbed the new game system yet, it should really have an option to tell you what the dice mean. And once you've mastered the dice, it can be turned off and you can interpret them on your own. Or not, since even regular dice rolling programs will add up the results of your dice for you. It's not a good intro to the game, especially since the only people playing it right now are the people who've bought into the beta..Version: 1.0.3

Don’t update app ... version 1 had better features ...Loss of basic D20 standard dice in addition to removal of the sound packages that changed up the rolling. Now dice rolls are and endless monotonous series of a couple robot whistles. The only update to this was addition of a few background pictures and granting the ability for players to cheat with their dice nudging them to better results. Whether it’s the RPG or a mini skirmish ... cheating in your dice app is not a good feature..Version: 2.0.2

It's just okay, but for the price it should be better. It looks good, and it works but it stops just where it would be the most useful. It adds up the results of the rolls but doesn't give you the actual result after the symbols cancel each other out. For those unfamiliar with the system basically what you need to know is not the total number of each symbol rolled but the number of symbols left after their counter symbols cancel each other out. It's not that I can't do the "math" but at least with actual dice you can take the canceled ones away and quickly get your result, for $5 this app should do this for you..Version: 1.1.3

RPG Missing setback and bonus diceTitle says it all. I should get all the dice for the RPG. It’s missing the black setback die and the blue bonus die..Version: 2.0.2

2.0 removed the “fun factor” of 1.0If there is a way to switch between interface variants, they sure don’t make it easy to find. (I’ve spent 15 minutes scouring “settings” and haven’t found it.) The 1.0 interface had better options, better default settings, and simulated playing a dice-based game nicely. I especially miss being able to select a sound theme. Now, I feel like I paid $5.00 for a $0.99 dice calculator with the Star Wars logo. I think the dev team (or, more probably, the executive that told them they had to change the app completely), “If it ain’t broke... don’t fix it.”.Version: 2.0

Disappointing after UpdateI’ve had this app for as long as I can remember. I have used it to play a multitude of SW games but also because of Being able to select non-SW dice I’ve used it for countless other games. Since the update it has lost a lot of what made it so versatile. No D4/8/12 anymore only D6/10/00. Thanks to the removal of some very simple but very useful parts it’ll be looking for a new dice rolling app..Version: 2.0

Symbol Labels!!!I play a lot of RPGs so I can’t remember what all is what so Including labels under the symbols as an option for new people to the game who don’t know what is what would make this 5 stars for me..Version: 2.0.2

Nice look, less usefulI used this app for everything, whether just role playing on the go or at the table to get private rolls while DMing. I understand for lame business reasons you would decide “Our APP is for OUR game” but even if I was only doing Star Wars role play I would need D4s to D20s for random number generation. Why remove functionality??.Version: 2.0

This shouldn't be more than $.99Basically an unsophisticated dice rolling program with skinned dice to match the various Star Wars themed FFG games. It's an *okay* dice roller, but not at the laughably inflated price point it's being offered at. If you really need canned Star Wars themed music playing while you roll simulated dice over Star Wars themed PNG images - you should be able to get that for 1/5 the price. When I pay five bucks for an app, I expect it to be five times better than the hundreds of competitors you will find at 1/5 the price of the price it to be five times better then the hundreds of competitors you will find at 1/5 price point - and certainly not marginally similar and no more better in function or effort. About the only thing this dice program has going for it is that it is officially recognized by FFG..Version: 1.2.0

New update took out d6It was nice to have some options for other dice types, even if regular dice aren't in any of the Start Wars games. This new update looks nicer, but removed that feature..Version: 2.0

Suggested updatesFirst of all, this app used to be better than it is now, due to one major change. You can now cheat and alter the results of your dice. Please FF, get rid of this feature. Also, it would be nice if you added a way to make it so you can roll different colored dice so you can differentiate say different types of damage that use the same die type in the same damage roll. Also as was mentioned before an increase to the max die limit would also be nice..Version: 1.1.3

Poor ValueThe Value of this app with the removal of of the standard D20 dice set is staggering. Made it useless for the old West End Games Star Wars game..Version: 2.0.2

Please return the standard dice.Removal of the standard dice in this app greatly reduces its value. Otherwise it is useful for its design for the various FFSW games..Version: 2.0

Update lowered functionalityUpdate removed functionality. Now each set of dice is locked together and you can't mix different sets. Also removed a bunch of generic dice (no more d20 or d4, for example). It's not often that an update makes an app objectively worse but here we are. Don't get this app.Version: 2.0

Update ruined imperial assault dice! There use to be a calculator that calculated the results for imperial assault! Not anymore. Thats the whole reason for the app imo was to make it faster and it even use to look better. The user interface was better before. There is no point might as well use real life dice. Terrible Update!.Version: 2.0.2

Terrible usabilityAs a SWRPG player, I constantly need to fiddle the dice pool to add/remove proficiency and difficulty dice, and it’s an incredible pain using this app. The selection tools are awkward, the command menus are unintuitively placed, and the results summary are misleading. You can’t drag and drop dice to the tray as you obviously should be able to. And of course it’s not visible across the table the way real dice are. It’s good-looking but really a terrible app. Plus it’s expensive. Just spring for the $5-$10 to get some more actual dice..Version: 1.2.0

New update needs workI enjoy using the app but with the new update it feels clunky and they have also removed some of the normal polyhedral dice that I used in my current games.Version: 2.0

Please bring back regular numbered gaming dice too!Beautifully aesthetic, but please bring me back the regular generic numbered gaming dice, specifically d4, d6, d8, d10/percentile, d12, and d20. That was one of the reasons I loved earlier versions of this app. I could do all my Star Wars games but still have dice for games like Pathfinder or D&D..Version: 2.0
