✓ Middle of the pack gameHuge baseball fan but if you tried teaming up with San Diego studios and made a game like mlb the show 18 plus making a different announcer for the home teams so if it’s Rogers center one the announcers is buck Martinez. ✓ I give up....I tried this game out thinking it would be a great game because of the hype. I feel let down. The pitch control is super outdated. The batting is impossible. The rosters are up to date and I did like the fact that you can build up a teams roster through trades. The graphics are okay but the gameplay is garbage. I’d have more fun playing many of the other baseball games available for free. I only paid $1.99 for the game and it feels like I got ripped off. I give two stars to be generous.....Version: 1.0.6

✓ Batter impossible!The graphics are good and I like the game play however it is extremely difficult . The batting is almost impossible even on easy mode!! Time you press hit, most of the time it’s too late. The pitches are are all over the place and it’s very difficult to tell if the ball is going to be over the plate or not until it’s too late. ✓ It doesn’t compareThis game is somewhat cool, especially after the franchises recent improvement in graphics. However, compared to what EA Sports is doing with football and basketball franchises on mobile platforms, or what The Show offers on console, this game truly doesn’t compare. It’s very far behind in expanded game modes, in-season updates, and variety of play. MLB needs to abandon this project, and outsource it to EA so fans can get a better experience..Version: 1.0.6
✓ EntertainingThis game is entertaining. I wish it was more competitive. I've been playing in franchise mode for a while but been having a a groundhog day for the past two days. I finish a game and for some reason, when the game is over the players stay on the field and the game over screen doesn't appear. In the last game the last batter struck out and then for some reason he took off and started running to center field and didn't stop. I'll give it a higher rating if I can ever get past this moment without having to restart.Version: 1.0.4
✓ Pretty annoying >:(When I got this game I looked at a lot of reviews and a lot of them said the game was bad but I didn’t trust them so I spent five dollars and then I figured out I used five dollars on a trash game when you’re playing a game you can’t even hit the ball and pretty much every pitch you throw the opponent team hits it, also pretty much all the time the game takes forever to load. So I recommend do not get this game and waste five dollars but on the bright side you can get players like Ted Williams Tom Seaver Joe DiMaggio so that’s why I gave it a two instead of a one. Oh another bad thing is that you only can play 10 franchise modes and then you can’t play it ever again for you people That don’t know what franchise mode is it is a season either of 162 games or 52 gamesI recommend don’t get this game fellow human beings.Version: 1.0.6
✓ Insanely StupidI bought this app as it was touted as a good upgrade from RBI 14, but that's not quite accurate ... I understand that it hinges a lot on things lime your timing when you bat, etc. but that's not the issue I found that no matter what, my team would always fall apart in the last two innings ... so I put together an insane roster with every gun pitcher available and the best sluggers out there ... however, it didn't help, e.g. Clayton Kershaw can't get beyond 5 innings, even if he has managed 15 1-pitch outs then, no matter how big my lead was heading into the 7th the AI would somehow manage a spectacular comeback, regardless of who was pitching ... even if I brought in Verlander to close out a game, he would get hit no matter what pitch sequence was used, and he'd be exhausted after getting just 3 outs was considering getting this game on PlayStation as well, but clearly it has issues ... and before you ask, I tried all the difficulty settings with the same results ... go figure.Version: 1.0.6
✓ PerplexedI like the changes this year as some of the hang ups resolved themselves. Liked that roster finally over write the lineup and let you use them. I have found that my players won’t steal when I press the man to steal. There is still no pickoff. The substitutions were a problem I could not get them to substitute early in the year as there was no good tutorial on how to make them so between what must have been a fix it has resolved itself. Injures would not resolve and return to active roster even though it said originally it was for 10 games. But once again I have lost a season of play. It happened at the game that should have on the schedule for 5/28. My franchise team is Atlanta Brave so I’m playing the Mets and on e lat out in the 9th the game froze. I have killed the app and opened it back up and continued the game 3 times recorded the last out and it froze again on the last out in the 9th also replayed the game and yes it froze on the last out in the 9th. I deleted the app and reloaded and lost the whole season. Would like a refund this continues to be a problem on a regular basis every year. Come on man it’s time to get this app right..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Terrible graphics!!! Waste of money!The graphics are terrible and look absolutely nothing like the ads. The game is available on the Nintendo switch, PS4, and X box, the ads are clearly for those platforms. I wasted two dollars on this terrible game. The audience is terrible, you can see through the players sleeves, and the game is always slow. Everything is super pixelated! All of the players have the exact same color skin! ✓ Great game. Not tweaked for iPhone.I love baseball. And to have a game that feels like real baseball on my phone is almost magical. Visual look too small even on an iPhone plus as a result stats are near impossible to read. And I don't even bother reading the stats much. Also... ✓ PoorOverall, poor game controls. Hard to determine what’s ball and strike given the camera position in Franchise Mode. Pitching tools are boring and don’t make sense. Base running is better, but still seems childish. Fielding is monstrous and unrealistic. I don’t quite understand how a ball rolls straight to the Short Stop and then magically appears in shallow left field. Also, I’m having troubles finding my players from trades and what not. ✓ Alright but definitely not worth $8I’m on easy mode and can’t get past 1 run scored, I can’t advance my runners one runner at a time after a pop fly. The pitching is very weird and I really can’t get a good grip on it, along with the batting itself. Every game I’ve played there’s always one inning where the other team just goes off for a homer or extra base hits that I just can’t defend against. There’s also no hustle from the defensive players, my shortstop dived for a ball, it bounced off of his glove (somehow) and he just laid there while the batter made it to first and a runner advanced to second. I’d love to continue to play the game and to enjoy it but at this point I come away more frustrated than satisfied..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Disappointed...I hoped this game would be great, but it’s a big waste of money sadly. It is laggy on my iPhone 7 and the analog stick isn’t accurate whatsoever. Yes it has the idea of being great, but until they fix the controls or at least give another option besides analog it won’t. The difficulty is crazy hard. I get a few runs but end up getting smashed because of the analog stick. The base running is slow and controlling their running only works half the time. ✓ Long game and has frustrating bugsBought this baseball game because I wanted a good time filler and was sick of ads in other games. The graphics and game play are great overall. There are a few issues that become very frustrating including: 1. When the ball is pitched to you and disappears right before the plate and it reappears, this happens more frequently than not, not sure how you are supposed to hit the ball?? 2. If you try a double play from 1st to 2nd and back to 1st, the 1st baseman is off the bag and you can’t move him to tag the bag or the runner. This has made me not play the game alone but the season games must be played out all 9 innings and you can’t skip anything, which makes the game seem like it is never going to end. I shortened the season to 52 games and I have completed 3 in a week. Game has potential but needs to have a few updates..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Regressed from previous version. Bad UI.I get that y’all are trying to present a premium game but the animations are too much. I don’t want ball/strike and ball speed flashing on my screen. Format for RBI 17 was much much better. Also with edge to edge display on new iphones the hitting buttons are far too difficult to access and makes for a terrible experience since you got to react quickly. ✓ Glitchy as hellThis is almost a 5 Star game, fun to play.. But game play is completely ruined for my device. The game is smooth until the cpu those a pitch. Then it goes to 5 FPS and it’s almost impossible to hit the ball. I feel like the cpu could also throw more balls. It’s super easy to get them to hit you too. Those two things I can live with. But the pitch glitch is just too much, I feel too graphics settings would help a lot. If I could lower the graphic settings it would be smoother. ✓ Waste of moneyI’m sad that I wasted money on this. The controls are terrible- there’s no good way to direct pitches in any sort of reliable fashion, and the pitch selection is abysmal. Base running controls are a joke. The runners often don’t go unless you tell them to after they’ve already stopped, and at that point there’s often no time to grab an extra base without being thrown out. Hitting itself? Forget it. ✓ Good but needs improvementIt’s a good game with better graphics and animations than 17. However there are some fixes that’s needed. The controls really need to be fixed, you have to be careful because it will move your player to the top right if you don’t touch the controller to the left. Also, I lost a game progress from the 8th inning because I had it didn’t save after I had left the game to do something else on my phone. In 17 it would save from wherever you left the game. I don’t often have 30 min to finish a game from start to finish at one time.Version: 1.0

✓ Disappointed but not badOverall I wish the pitching was more controllable and allowed for chosen pitches not just fast/normal/slow. I wish the pitches that hit the ground were more obvious. Currently the ground makes it very hard to tally whether it is a low pitch or not. Batting is okay. Bunting is bad. I would prefer a contact swing, power swing button option. Figures are pretty bad too. Animation is low grade. Base runners for some reason only steal on occasion rather than on command. Hopefully with the money they can spend some of it to upgrade the gameplay a bit. In this current state I cannot recommend it. Definitely has room for improvement and I will keep it until I run out of space on my phone..Version: 1.0.6
✓ I have some concerns...The batting system is difficult if not impossible to use properly. The player is required to use all their focus and reactions just to ground out most of the time. Also when the pitcher makes the pitch often the ball COMPLETELY DISAPPEARS, until it is time to swing. And the base running system is horrible. Trying to make a base runner round second will often make both runners round, giving the defense a free out on second. The batting and base running systems both need large overhauls. Other than that the game is very enjoyable, just very frustrating to play casually when hitting is clunky and awkward and baserunning is near nonsensical..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Great addition to the Mobile franchise!EDIT: A couple small bugs/issues caused me to put the game down. For one, the game gives some of my players in franchise modes imaginary stats. Played about 6 games, hadn’t recorded a hit with Gleyber Torres, but suddenly he had a home run in his stats? Not a huge deal but extrapolate that out over a season/franchise & who knows what numbers are real. I also am finding the computer putting up 25 hits on me per game, on medium. I’m fine with a game being difficult but I mean has any team ever even gotten that many hits? Could be a bit more realistic.. just frustrating when the rays string together 10+ singles in a row off a good pitcher. I downloaded the game on its release date, & it was very buggy. Impossible to play, so I stopped. I’ve seen them push the rough a few updates in the meantime & decided to jump back in. Glad I did because the game is great! Haven’t experienced any of the previous bugs, just a solid baseball game. The best baseball experience in the App Store for sure. Glad to see it in the top 12 on paid apps. ✓ Franchise modeThe gameplay and the graphics are a significantly better then last years model. The game itself is great. The one problem I have is a huge problem. After playing 30 games in the franchise mode. I cannot complete a game. As soon as the game ends the game crashes, I’ve tried multiple ways in order to complete the game. ✓ Pros and consI’ll start with the Pros: graphics are a bit better, you can swap baserunners and fielders on the fly unlike past. Other than that, nothing else worth mentioning Cons: They took away features and complicated others. Ex: touch the pitcher to see his stamina or even his name to know who’s pitching??! Why would u take that out?? All of a sudden i’m facing 100mph fastballs from a diff pitcher w/o being notified. Other pitching hiccups are when u want to change pitcher its wayy more complicated as u have to click here and there. Also the stat line for pitchers are hitting stats?? Come on!! Also how do u get a free agent pitcher to be on your bullpen?? No clue, youguys should of just stuck with graphic update and improved pitching stat errors. Last point, i just won 6-0 but somehow my pitcher allowed a HR!! This has been an issue for a while. Fix it already. To add to the BS, youguys take away the homerun distance and also the game batter stats for the game! ✓ Too many bugsGame is good but there are too many glitches. Catcher won’t come out of his crouch so can’t get anyone out at the plate on ground ball or pop us. He doesn’t wear any equipment either when fielding other than face mask. Game freezes up often, defense is way too good. A play in the hole from the SS and he throws a laser to first behind his back. Defense basically becomes Superman and flies all over for fly balls or grounders. Again, game is good but too many bugs. Hopefully it will get fixed..Version: 1.0.3

✓ BugReally like this game, but I recently found a bug, and I don’t know where else to report it (it would be great if all apps had a “send feedback” feature to report issues to developers). When I’m in franchise mode, and I win a game due to the mercy rule, the game freezes and won’t end. I’ve tried closing and restarting four times now, so I think this is a persistent problem that’s affecting many users. I’m using an iPhone 8 with iOS 11.3.1. EDIT (31 May 2018): The issue described above where the game will not end is now also occurring in postseason mode. Also, the above comment states that this was only occurring when the game would have ended due to the mercy rule, but now the issue is occurring when the game should end due to the end of the ninth inning..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Fun game but....The swipe to advance runner needs to be changed or gotten rid of. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hit what should be a triple and end up only getting a single cause the swipe option doesn’t work. ✓ I so want this game to be good but...This game has so much potential but good golly did anybody who worked on this ever play or watch a baseball game. First of all, for the most part if there is a runner on base with two outs and a ball is put in play, then the runner should take off immediately. Not so in this game. Also, even more frustrating is when I hit the command to advance a runner, many times the game will not. Lastly, all fielders have an arm like Bo Jackson. No way to score from second on a ground ball to the outfield. There are several other gameplay issues which make you scratch your head, that others have mentioned. Given the fact that this is a fairly substantial paid game, I have only one choice but to give it one star. Hopefully these issues are addressed soon. ✓ Feels outdated..way better games that are freeI love the fact that it’s actual rosters and honestly that’s what drove me to getting this game but as soon as I started my first game I regretted my decision to purchase this app immediately. Some of the animations are pretty cool but the pitching and batting!? Absolutely horrible. The baseball game I played before (which is FREE!!!) the camera angles for pitching/batting actually made you feel like you were part of the game. Pitching in the other game was also a lot more realistic due to the fact that you chose your pitch (based off pitches the pitches can throw), and the location of where you wanted to throw. There are many other things that I can call out but I don’t even know if anyone reads these so I don’t want to waste my time. Bottom line here is playing the other game (that I have re-downloaded) people always said “wow that looks so real!”, and I would gladly tell them about it and how it’s FREE...this game people see it and think it’s a super old game that I’ve been hanging onto for years and I absolutely feel embarrassed when I tell them I just paid for this....Version: 1.0.4

✓ Frustrating on several ends1. This is one of those apps that won’t let you play your own music or podcast while using the app. Don’t care for the music on the app? Too bad. Engrossed in a baseball podcast and hoping to chill out with some minor multitasking? Forget about it. 2. The lack of a visible strike zone makes pitching kinda hard. 3. MOST importantly, batting is absolutely impossible. You can’t tell if a pitch is going to be a ball until past the point of no return, there’s very little control over the direction of your swing, and you almost always hit it right to a fielder. ✓ DisappointingThe RBI Baseball games have continued to get worse as each year is released. This latest version is very disappointing. I played the very first game and ended up losing based on glitches. First, based on the runs scored in the game, I should have been leading 5-4 (even the runs per inning were right), but the scoreboard had the game tied at 4. Come to the 9th inning and I get a 1-2-3 inning. Game Over! How? I’d love to know, but somehow the game added a run on no hits. How can you release a game where you can’t even get the score right? ✓ Boring, no skill neededThey charged me right after I wrote my review. Classless. The following was my review and a minute later they billed me. My review was: No curveballs, sinkers and so on. No vertical strike zone. I get keeping to the original NES but with MLB license you would think more realism. I just bought it and played one game. Now I am bored with it and probably can’t get a refund. No wonder there isn’t a demo. ✓ TerribleI strongly regret buying this game. The pitching and batting gameplay is awful, any other baseball game that is free has much better gameplay. The franchise mode was an extreme disappointment. There is no offseason, the stats are ridiculous, and the way ratings are shown is also terrible. Use actual numbers to show attribute ratings. Trading is a pain since you can’t filter by position so good luck searching for players. They aren’t even sorted in any type of logical order. This game is absolutely terrible and by far the worst baseball game I have ever played. Good thing I didn’t waste my money getting it for PlayStation, The Show blows this game out of the water. I've tried different teams with better hitters but haven't scored, I also have probably gotten 15-20 hits across those 4 games. I know I'm bad but I know I'm not that bad. I have switched from medium to easy but same results. Pitching is fine but I was using degrom and the rangers managed to get 13 hits off him in 5 innings. ✓ Oh dear, oh dear...Why oh why do I fall for this bunch of rubbish. It’s just the same as 17, 16, 15 with a few minor additions. The graphics of the players are woeful and well yes bought, played and deleted. Gameplay is same as, no commentary with makes it a bore fest and most of the time your either strike out or catch the fielder. MLB when are you gonna realise baseball is for consoles only not for mobile/tablet gaming. It just doesn’t work again. Hopefully get a refund. A breaking ball that ends up in the dirt or clobbered 500 ft! A I guess change up? It’s a slower fastball! And a fastball! They have a 4 pitches! One of which starts off as a fastball, then breaks! So you move the stupid joystick, get ready to hit, and then it breaks! It’s ridiculous! Fielding!? Apparently everyone is a gold glove winner! The game glitches and the buttons stop working for a second! An average runner beats out a ground ball to shortstop! I loaded my team up because trading is a joke to! But I just wanted a game where I can put a beating on a team! Just for fun. Kill time! I can’t even do that! I have an all star at every position! Even the rotation and bullpen! But I can’t hit because the hitting controls are a joke! And if you do hit, it’s most likely a single! I have to steal 100 bags a game just to get runs! And base running? If you want to send a runner, you have to send both! Meaning that you basically give up an out to score a run! This game needs to be fixed! ✓ This game is terribleI gave this game a try. In franchise mode I created a super team just for giggles. All my players are the best at their position. In reality they’re amazing hitters. I can’t hit to save my life. It’s all grounders or pop flys. I did hit a few homers but it seems the other team has the advantage. Also the whole joystick thing with batting and pitching, it’s horrible. Why can’t there be just simple buttons for what pitches u wanna throw with some kinda target circle to pick where u wanna throw it like in 2K. I kept giving this game a try. But I kept getting beat by crappy teams like the Marlins and others. And the scores were not even fair. 10-0, 7-0, 9-1. This game is bull and until they fix their crappy game, I’m not playing it or taking this review down. ✓ Interface way too smallI love the new features but come on, the only way you can play this game without magnifying glasses and a small stylus is on iPad. ✓ A Little Frustrating...I was eager to try this game since I’ve heard so much about it, however, the game experience has been a big letdown so far. The biggest thing to this point is that there is no learning curve for new players, you just keep logging on and getting rocked by AI opponents that know how to use the game controls effectively. Presumably this continues until the player learns how to use the controls, which would be fine for a free game, but to have paid $2 to be frustrated every time I play is quite disappointing. Casual gamers (players who don’t have or won’t commit the time to learn this game as effectively as the masterful AI) probably won’t have much fun with this game. As for the gameplay, there is zero feedback or timing meters for the player during batting, which could be problematic since batting is entirely reliant on timing. I don’t expect to hit a home run every at bat, but I do think there should be some sort of feedback to inform the player on their timing so they can make adjustments. For example: I know I’m swinging early, but how early am I swinging so I can adjust appropriately? Pitching controls are just clumsy and moderately useless as the AI just gets the clutch hit every time anyway. Yes, it could be that I’m just not good at this game. ✓ Getting betterLittle by little things have been improving. I wish the runners were a little faster, it would be nice to score from second on a single. Also, stats are a bit of a mess. I’m well into the season and the top closer is listed as only having 14 saves, even though mine has 47. I can’t find him at all in fact in the list. Can only sometimes update my roster. ✓ Really?I am a huge baseball fan and I have been playing other free mlb games on iPad for years, with a lot of enjoyment thus far. I said to myself, with not paying the extra 10$ and get the « real thing » this year. My disappointment is tremendous. Is that really it? No kidding? In short: - Graphics are unrealistic, especially when catching the the ball without actually moving his arm. Are we back in 1998? - 2 types of pitching: slow or fast. It’s not amateur softball, it’s mlb! - no ressemblance with real players: physically, with the pitching/batting mechanics, and all players are black. - No announcers. - Commands are awful, when not bugging. It reminds me Play Station 1 games, without the fun of playing it. This game is insanely boring. Too bad we can’t put 0 star and get a refund. Don’t spend 10$ on that. ✓ Major BugsThe game was fine for a while. Then, suddenly, the game freezes at every load screen between innings. After force closing the game and re-opening to continue, it will work for one at bat. Then the camera angle will be an aerial view where i can't bat but the pitcher still pitches. Force close and re-open again. I'm standing there to bat but there is no pitcher! Or anyone on the field at all! Just the batter forever standing there waiting on a pitch that will never come. Please this and I'll give 5 stars because I did really enjoy the game when it worked.
