✓ So far so goodI have only played a few hours into the game and it has been very enjoyable, lots of short or longer side quests to do, and a good story. There are lots of hidden secrets and funny characters to meet, I think this game is worth a shot. One of my negatives is that monsters do not attack more, and while there is a potion to help with that it does take up a potion slot. I can walk for 2 minutes or more in the forest and not get attacked by anything. Then I can encounter “dragonlings” but after killing them they do not give exp which is almost a waste to kill them besides giving some loot, which is my second negative. Dragonlings can give loot, but for how long it takes to kill them I feel just killing two normal monsters is equal to killing a dragonling. The monsters will give exp and can drop some rarer loot than what I have seen from dragonlings. I can see these being what they are to slow character progression down some which is fine. Dragonlings to me seem like a waste to fight with almost nothing to gain over normal monsters..BlarTheGreatVersion: 1.5.80

✓ ProblemRight so. I remember this game from a few years back and I know for a fact it’s amazing and fun to play because of it. It is old school but that’s part of its charm. The story line is fun, you get to explore a fantastic world, and they manage to throw in unique but distinct character. That’s why I recently went back to it and found it again and this time was willing to spend a bit of money. There I had an issue where for some reason I spent money (it shows as a transaction) twice on 3.49£ “unique packs” and yet the app just tells me “offer not purchased” or something similar. Now there may be a way, aside from a review, to get in contact with the game developers but I can’t seem to find it and that is my main issue with it as it is, along with of course either managing to block the money spent through my bank or getting the packs I asked for..MythrealVersion: 1.15.616

There’s a lot of unique humour to the dialogue, the story is unlike any vampire game I’ve ever played. ✓ Remasting An Old IdeaI was skeptical when the App Store recommended Vampire’s Fall, as most games on the App Store fail spectacularly. Be that they are too buggy, drain battery, and are filled with so many adds that the game becomes unplayable. Yet I was pleasantly surprised, the game has an interesting story, creative and at appropriate times hilarious dialogue. It’s clear to see that the developers truly love this project, and with that I can see this game as being a success. Open world RPGs have been around for a long time, but Vampire’s Fall goes back to the basic routes of having an overhead view and the map only being revealed at the player gets near the area. It is based off that simplistic game model, yet the developers have put their own twists. The only issue I can see as of right now, which just may be put in place as a block for underdeveloped areas, are the unbeatable enemies. The ones that you must, “Prepare for slaughter.” It’s just a little frustrating, but knowing that eventually I’ll be able to take down a Swamp Devoter makes it all the better. I personally can’t wait to see where this game goes. It has so much potential and I can see there being a strong fanbase for it in the future. Myself definitely being one, as I want to help the developers and donate to see the progression of Vampire’s Fall. It starts off ok, but it’s soon becomes addictive, there’s lots to do, a good variation of enemies, plenty of lore, massive maps, plenty of character customisation, tonnes of loot and variations of loot drops, massive maps, a good story, lots of dungeons and elite type enemies I.e ones that are harder or much much harder than the last ‘boss’ types. Yes, obviously you will get farther faster by spending money but if you are patient and pay attention to the areas and monsters and foes you are facing you can hone your skills and weapons, get some gold, and go up in levels without spending. One great thing is you don’t lose all your gold or gear by getting killed. Next like in many games, you only play other players when you want to and don’t get some over zealous 13 yr old wiping out everyone on the map. There is some witty dialogue and this game has kept me engaged for long periods while I sit quietly as my son does Covid-19 home school online and hasn’t bored me yet. The expansion to the second map is as amazing as the first, the attention to detail and ease of movement is perfect for new and experienced players alike. The quests are plentiful and the rewards are good. I appreciate the cost of weapons and armour for the better pieces and it's made me that much more determined to buy them, the resale value of pieces can be a bit annoying but also stops the game from being too easy. I am only level 61 just now so I have a lot of gameplay left to discover. The maps are huge and there is so much adventure packed into this game. You do the same repetitive combo and there are not many options to choose from in terms of the build you can go. I would like to see a massive skill tree, where the further you delve into a tree, the more specialised your character becomes and the combat style is different. This way you’re not just doing the same moves as everyone online and so it just becomes about who had the better equipment. ✓ Almost perfectI have to start by saying, play this game. Seriously, it’s one of the best you’ll play on mobile. It has an interesting story, well fleshed out characters, plenty to do and lots to keep you interested. That said, it has a couple issues. PVP is not great, in that the matching system is unfair. I either get matched with players I have no chance against, or vice versa. There haven’t been many close matches. Secondly, bleed damage is too powerful. I was up against someone with an equipment level a little lower than mine, and we did about the same level of damage. I thought I was about to have a good match, finally. Not so, since his sword had the bleed effect and after just a few swings he did upwards of 5,000 damage to me. Obviously, it killed me as I had around 2,000 hit points. A little ridiculous, to be sure. Luckily, I don’t play the game for the multiplayer experience, and you shouldn’t let that ruin the game for you either. ✓ Too much of strategy more than RPG.The game is very good and gives you RPG sense. The only problem with me is that the game is imbalance in a way that monster debuff and buff are way too powerful. If you didn’t buy the best equipment from previous play through, you are stuck at any boss that does that. 200 def buff for an enemy reduce your damage by close to half. Your own 200 def buff reduce about 20-25% damage from enemy. Also enemy buff for 15+ turns. Yours is 4 turns, so go figure. Even worse, enemy can heal. A boss with def buff once and heal once can take you down easily. I don’t have the best equipment, remember? I can’t buy them now because they are just right behind the door I can’t open. So overall the game is good. But you have to strategize what to do. You can’t heal yourself much but rely on Bite skill. The skill is very weak and cost FP. ✓ Love the Game!I’ve been playing video games since Space Invaders. I love this particular format especially. It’s a beautifully balanced game that allows you to stay busy with multiple pile aspects of the game. You have many gameplay options depending on your mood. You are able to follow a storyline and dive into a deep quest line, grind away at exp and explore a fairly sizable geography or spend all your time on pvp content. Of course, what game would be complete with the ability to form or join a clan. I just wish I could lend more insight from the gamer’s perspective. There are two glaring things that jump off the page for me that I would correct. 1. Diablo always made sure there was a stash box to keep different gear sets in. I found it challenging to have to sell gear I didn’t want to sell for the sake of space. The game could actually use this as an opportunity to either require the gamer to pay for more stash space or even make it an upgrade option for involvement in a clan. 2. If you have to spend precious gold to reset your abilities, at least allow the gamer the option to plug points and move them around before finalizing the skill points. ✓ Rare GemIt’s almost impossible to find a mobile game made for the sake of making a game, rather than a cashgrab. The art is beautiful, the setting is atmospheric and it has just a splash of tongue-in-cheek humour for those paying attention. Despite the simple and intuitive controls, players can customise their builds depending on their playstyle. There is a good variety of content and a large world to explore with even fast-travel potions available for places you’ve already been to. There are IAPs but the game is fun even without them. They mainly speed up progress for people who don’t want to grind. The game has both an offline mode and an autosave feature. Overall this is enjoyable to play and the devs continue to improve it. I have bounced around between a number of different games on the phone, and this has been by far the best free RPG that I have discovered thus far. The visuals have an excellent old school feeling to them, the quests have purpose for exploration and things of that nature and the development of the character’s combat style was engaging and enjoyable, also much of the humour was well played which is always a bonus. ✓ Not what I expected (in the best way)I’ve never really been one for modern RPG’s with the anime characters and strangely shaped characters with gargantuan breasts and log shaped necks (if ya know ya know). The Devs have butchered the side quest system, but in a good way I guess(?) as the quests are sometimes really stupid and pointless on purpose (again, who leaves barrels of shrimp scattered all the way across a city?) so that it is just funny to talk to the NPCs and find new responses from them or stupid quests to do. Some things can be hidden by the notch in our screen that houses the camera and sensors. There is no stamina requirement because you are playing an adventure game and there is so much to do. The pvp is really fun and the map is really nice as there are boss lairs and random chests which contain gold and crystals(currency you buy with real money). The game is a lot of fun and is definitely worth paying. As you progress through the story you will get roadblocked and have to pay $5.00 to buy the game. So it is a bit of a demo but long and you won’t regret purchasing the full game. Only complaint is the cloud save. ✓ Fantastic!I just found this game last night and I’m completely hooked! I love the graphics, the open world, the frequent quests, and the combat system. It took me awhile to gain levels and have better weapons so that I could really tear up the enemies the way I wanted to, but it was worth it. I also love the way the areas and quests intertwine-for example when you go to the woman who sells potions, she’s not only there to sell to you, but also has information about the quests. Another thing I love is finding things that are unexpected and fun, like being able to change your appearance when you discover the church. It’s little surprises like this that really keep the game interesting, and make me yearn to walk around constantly to see what other goodies may be hiding in the forest! Finally, I love the fact that you get to be a vampire. I’ve been crazy about vampires since reading Dracula when I was a kid, so having the ability to take down enemies with a bite is awesome! I’m not super far into it (level-37 at the moment), but I’ve enjoyed every second of it and I’m amazed at how complex it can get while still remaining fairly simple. It reminds me of a few games from my childhood—sort of a fusion of the old AdventureQuest, old-school isometric CRPGs, and a very slight dash of Pokémon. The hand-drawn aesthetic is quite beautiful and nostalgic, and I have to say, the bits of comedy and overall weirdness of some of the dialogue really brings this world into a light of its own. ✓ This is the game I’ve been searching for but didn’t know it.Back in the late 90s, I used to play RPGs like Baldur’s Gate and such. Back then, I really enjoyed the play style of an open world exploration system. Granted, there are a few I dislike — sometimes the humor is a little juvenile (angel statues making a fart joke I’m looking at you), and I’d like a more detailed map or at least more marked quests/information in each quest’s blurb because I don’t like spending half an hour running around the map for a single quest item that doesn’t have a location. I’d also like being able to choose my PvP battles, because I’m a fairly new player with 250 health being paired with players with 2000 health. Transit is also pretty slow, and I hope a future update includes stables so that I can get a horse to speed things up. All that being said, the game is a pure gem. I love combat and I love how the upgrade system works. The stories are interesting and every NPC has a line of unique dialogue. ✓ I love the combat system!This is an excellent game! I love RPGs but they can frequently get very repetitive for me or require so much grinding to do anything it’s just boring. I’ve played this game for several hours now and I’m nearly level 15, which probably isn’t much in the long run, but I’ve found it very enjoyable. I particularly like the combat system, which I’ve found forces me to use more debuffs and buffs than most RPGs, which adds a level of strategy to the combat that I quite enjoy. There’s another plus to this game. I’m non-binary and, personally, I tend to want a character design that typical RPG male vs female character creators don’t allow (slender like female and flat-chested like male, if anyone’s wondering.). This game doesn’t fix that particular issue, but the avatar on the screen is small enough and has a nondescript enough appearance that the parts of the appearance I don’t like really aren’t obvious. The movement mechanics, as well as the turn-based combat, are a little clunky and seem less streamlined than some games, but overall it totally works. Highly recommend. Update: I downloaded the most recent update (third week Oct 2020) and the app no longer works. Instead, it redirects me to the App Store, noting that there is a new update; this in turn redirects me to the app. So, I can no longer play the game. 2nd update: I had to uninstall the app, and after reinstall it’s functioning again. Thankfully, I had backed up to Apple Cloud and my saved game was found. Devs were quick to pick up on my review and get in touch to determine if I had had a resolution - that’s fantastic! They don’t force you to spend ungodly sums of money to keep playing or be competitive. The only thing that holds this one back from being one of the best on iOS is the broken PvP experience that sadly limits end game. Once you complete the story, you can start over at a higher difficulty while keeping your gear and experience. But the story isn’t compelling enough to warrant multiple playthroughs on its own. PvP should be the thing that keeps you playing to continue building your character, but the matching system is so terrible that it just turns into a frustrating slog. I played the original Diablo and Diablo II on PC years ago and I had been keeping an eye out for a similar game for iPad - usually met by disappointment. Vampire’s Fall is the first Diablo style RPG game I find truly enjoyable and playable on iPad (the graphic, the feel, the control, the map, even the typography). ✓ Flawed PerfectVampire’s Fall: Origin is exactly the type of game we need to see much more of on mobile phones. It’s open world old-school RPG style is entertaining without an energy system or daily cap. The combat is turn-based, which is perfect on phones where controls make live combat clunky. While I have some minor gripes about this game, they’re overwhelmingly diminished by how much I’m enjoying it. But for the developers to consider for their next game, I’ll list a few. I appreciate humor but in Vampire’s Fall it feels a little out of place with the tone. And it sometimes feels a little juvenile. Though more than a few of the jokes got a chuckle out of me. I love how open the world is but some parts of the land feel a bit barren. It’s a hard complaint to make because I can see there is a lot of work out into the towns and even some of the environment. But walking for 30 seconds from one town to the next can feel like a long time. I hate Ads in games but I feel like Vampires Fall did it as best as it can be done. Even though atm (19th sept 2018) there isn’t enough content as to make it over 1 week playtime, the devs are constantly updating it and planning on adding a lot of new stuff which makes it awesome. It has the typical exp based leveling system, 10 types of equipment you can wear and a huge amount of different builds you can make as you are able to spend your upgrading points however you like, and it even has a respec system where by paying in-game cash you can rearrange your build an unlimited amount of times too, it has a UNIQUE feature that are brutal bosses, which are differentiated between wild (random encounter bosses) and guards (location specific bosses) which is great!. The graphics are awesome, they are not “modern” but that doesn't take away the fact that they are really good, it doesn’t fell “gross” to the eyes like some games do. ✓ One of the most in depth iOS gamesThis game has a huge open world, many quests, good writing, great visuals, and in depth character customization all for free. This game is tough but fair and it actually makes you think about your moves which that alone makes it better than 90% of games on the iPhone. There is however a place where you can chose to watch an ad but there’s not a big incentive to so that’s great. My only complaints are that some of the side quests feel like filler but I get that they have to have some filler. ✓ Well made, has a reoccurring glitch in Marid’s Lair of DuelsA lot of the games you end up finding on mobile are pretty crappy and are almost unplayable due to just how many adds you are forced to watch through to get any meaningful gameplay, but as of now (and probably always) there are absolutely no adds that you have to watch to play the game (excluding occasional rewards you get for watching an add) and the story is very well crafted. The controls are easy to use and aren’t difficult to learn. One thing I have noticed though is that when you go to Marid for the first time and interact with the circle of blood in the lair of duels, you become stuck and unable to move which makes you have to close out the game and continue off where you auto saved (which for me both times was right outside of the blood circle) Im only on my second play through of the game and could be missing something though, I also have very poor internet at times but if it has something to do with getting online it would show a loading screen like all the other times. But I’m playing this on a phone with a relatively small screen compared to newer phones. So I’m not too fussed about the occasional getting stuck behind a tree or fence. I really like the potions aspect in the way they’re handled. The fact that they are not accessible during combat adds a nice challenge! I would love to see a lot more plot line expansion after the main two plots, and more lands for those plots to take place in. Also, I don’t see the point in choosing what family of vampires you’re from. It says it gives a minor buff, but it’d be really cool if there were different scenarios and storylines, different skill sets, and different options in general, because otherwise the decision to add this feature in the beginning seems pointless. Maybe I’m speaking too soon and not playing properly, but for a beginner such as myself, I’d like to be guided into how to efficiently farm exp and money. ✓ This is still a great game.I really haven’t played a game for a while that I have enjoyed as much as this. I have completed the game now, and yet I am drawn to play it again with a different character. I am deliberately playing it harder. Grinding more, saving money for the best weapons and armour, and trying a different path on the skills tree to the one I took with my first character. ✓ VERY ADDICTIVEI downloaded this game long ago and don’t even remember if I paid for it. I started, I stopped and went on to something else. I think I found the combat system ‘different’. Anyway I didn’t delete and now playing again. I’m at level 20 something and I think there are 80 to 100 levels. I’m playing offline and kept getting killed till I got some decent weapons and am now playing duel wield. Still getting banjoed but not as often and am making good progress, have good kit, money and weapons. It’s an involved game for under 300mg. I’ve also found Calvin the immoral who won’t sell offline. And I’ve found the woman who can change your stats for free. Good game. Many secrets to unlock! Recommended..EEbertonVersion: 1.17.151
