✓ Terrible app for connectivity; can’t even log in!After downloading this app on 2 iPads and an iPhone, only the iPhone 11 would scan the ID car, so I thought I’ll sign up, log in on my sons iPad so he has the ID car on his account. Couldn’t create a Mattel account via the app as it needs to be a randomly generated username. I finally found a way to get to a website to create a username, but it’s not recognised on the apps on any device!!!!! Utter ridiculous. There’s no point in buying any of the portal devices as you can’t even log into this app. Oh, and to use the app support, you have to add your country detail.....hey Mattel, you know there is a world outside the USA and Canada... 😡. Very, very disappointing. I’ve spent about 4 hours trying to figure it out, surprisingly my 4 year old got bored 3 hours 59 minutes ago!!.Version: 3.0.0

✓ Good but not great and definitely not perfectThe game is nice, smooth, and always motion going on to keep me from getting bored. There just aren’t arrows to drive over like hot wheels on Nintendo 64, the track is realistic and nice but to have an option to race on a bigger less realistic track with more people would be nice. I can definitely see myself getting the better/faster cars without having to buy tokens or watch advertising, which is nice so I’m definitely happy to buy in game purchases just because I know the game is great already. The only drawback in gameplay is the balance of power. I can have a really fast 300 “pr” ,instead of horsepower, car and race a 10 “pr” car and that car will still keep up with me, doesn’t make sense but it’s not entirely enough to make me 1 star this game, so that’s why I gave the game 3 stars.Version: 3.2.0
✓ JuiceI understand the fuel mechanic in most free games, it's a way for a company to make money. As a life long hot wheel collector, I decided to try these new ID cars and see what's so fancy about it. $5 is a pretty decent amount of change for a hot wheel of such bad build quality, but that's not why I bought it. I wanted to play the game included with it, what a cool concept. The game itself is a decent game, good enough for passing time in a waiting room, but its really nothing special, if not a bit underwhelming, but after getting through the tutorial, I found one very bad issue. I'm paying for fuel on a physical car I paid real world money for. This is like buying a game for your xbox to learn you didn't actually buy a game, just access to the game. I spent my 8 bits of juice in about 5 minutes, and was greeted with a hour long timer. Who came up with this? If I was a kid and was met with that, I'd throw a fit. Why would you make a mechanic that teases your customers lime this, knowing your customers are mainly children who don't understand the point of a pay to win mechanic on a toy they have in their hands... Terrible idea. I was considering collecting all these ID cars for my collection, but not after this. They aren't worth it, and this game is hardly worth the effort..Version: 2.9.1

There is place place to report this on Mattel site and I bought the actual id cars so it’s not an in app purchase so Apple doesn’t care either. It’s a scam. Does me no good to by ID cars to use in the app if the special events doesn’t acknowledge them. Restarting app doesn’t work scanning car into garage still doesn’t register it for daily or special events. Playing on a new iPhone. And own the id car and the in app version of the car… can’t do events and can’t report problem through any link that you provide. No wonder you discontinued it. ✓ What the heck!This app for collecting and racing unique cars is terrible. I add the cars I want to my garage, but then I can only race other cars. I cannot open the garage or anything worse except scan new cars or pair with he Bluetooth track attachment. Someone at app development schools should have told your coder about the user experience. As a life long collector, that should be a larger part of the app, or make a companion app geared towards the collector. I’ve long been past the smart phone race at game, but I’m sure lounger collectors may be happy with your offering. It makes me not want to collect these one-off cars if the only “feature” is an nfc tag that lets me do nothing..Version: 1.6.2
✓ Good app, sneaky way to sell stuffI got this app when it came out and loved it. I soon realised that I couldn’t race or complete races without buying a car or 2. Issue is that I still can’t complete races as many need specific cars to be bought... or the track etc. this is really disappointing as these cars are $11 in AU..Version: 1.2.5
✓ Doesn’t work at allThe app is free...cool. It’s also a complete disappointment. Thought it would be great for kids to use on their new iPads...got them several of these $5 cars and the iPads don’t scan cars. Nothing about the game says “developed for adults”, but based on reviews, it seems like it only works on phones. I tried troubleshooting tips from other reviews, but the problem seems to be the App. Attempt to scan, and the directions just keep flashing across the screen...after a few attempts, and return to the Home Screen, the link to the scan page quits working altogether. ✓ Growing painsFrom the opening tutorial levels where you can’t exit race screens, the game feels a little unpolished. Whenever you tie a race with the AI opponent, the app will crash, which happens more often than you might guess. Also, with respect to crashes, you spend “juice” before a race starts, meaning a tie/app crash situation costs you a resource that should only be claimed on completion. The races are formulaic and repetitive: boost early and often, especially on uphill sections. Part of this is only having three control options, four if you count holding to drift. The AI backs way way off if you have more purchased advantages; your car isn’t strictly better, your opponents only make a race of it if you play down to their level. I can’t imagine wanting to complete nearly 700 races on the same variations of track sections. By level 4 of 12, I believe I’ve seen all there is to see of the city. My restrictions now are accumulating the right class of vehicle to perform in otherwise locked, but no more creative, situations. TL;DR: tracks need variety, AI is intentionally unintelligent on demand, ties are buggy and the app crashes every time..Version: 1.4.0

✓ All progress lostMy son and I play this together and have been doing so for a couple of months. We update the app today 12/19 and find that all of his progress is suddenly wiped in the new version. He has multiple physical id cars he has bought as well as cars we got with id points and cards unlocked through races (he had completed about 500 of the 697ish that were previously available). Nice you have a Mattel account now, but it would have been nice to have warning or a way to backup prior to finding out progress is wiped. Not sure if we’re going to continue or not anymore..Version: 1.6.0
✓ Forced racingSo I found the ID cars one day, and thought they were cool, so I bought them. Recently I just got a new phone, so I thought I’d try out the app. It forced me to race. Okay, so a little tutorial, I get it. After the race, I decided to check out the other parts of the game. I couldn’t. The other buttons are defective, and the game forces me to race. ✓ Great but not compatible with iPadsBought for children, and can’t work it with the app as the iPads don’t recognise when a car has been placed in the portal. Portal is connected to iPad and portal goes green when you add a car - but then doesn’t appear in app. Does work with my iPhone, but is advertised as working with iPads and was the whole point (and iOS has been updated). Really having a hard time getting past the steering control. Update: figured out the steering. Still jerky but it’s set up more for hold it and drift than fine tune steering. ✓ Data wiped with updateMy son has played this game for ages and we have bought several ID cars and the portal to allow for enhanced fun. However with the recent update my son has lost all his cars from the garage. It has taken him a long time to get them using both forms of currency in the game. He is level 383 so as you can imagine not something that can be retrieved over night. The game has saved his track completions as well so he won’t be able to get points back quickly either. ✓ Not Worth It Rip OffWhen I first saw this product I was pretty impressed, I thought this would be a cool way to play with my brothers I bought three ID cars unknowingly that you actually need a race portal which costs almost $20 I was not going to pay that money for a simple game this was getting way to complicated. plus like I said this was meant to something fun and simple to play with and you have to play like $25 in total. And if you were to buy the portal and the cars the game is pretty boring I mean there’s nothing special it’s a regular racing game the controls are weird and gets boring fast. Now there is a better option you can buy a kit and it will give you a racing track and some cars and the portal now this is actually fun until you see the price tag OVER $100 for most options. You can get some cheaper models but still those cost $50+ NOT FOR ME. I thought it was a great idea selling physical cars that could unlock digital vehicles in the app, without the need to buy a physical track system - and so I bought one of the cars. What they don’t tell you is that you can only race that car digitally a certain number of times before it runs out of ‘juice’. Apparently the only way to ‘re-juice’ your car is on a physical track. You will feel no difference in vehicle performance regardless of the upgrades, and there’s no way of knowing how close your opponent is behind you. ✓ Game was a fun pastime/grind-gameI bought a few ID cars because I like the models and decided to pick up the game and it's been entertaining to grind since. I'd like to see more long-term challenges like the Target Edition Highway Hauler 3.0 race to 150 wins which earned a real Rodger Dodger. I would have been a part of that race if I knew about it a bit earlier. Rating will be 5-star once the update to opponent CPU is reverted or made fun again in a new way. ✓ Fair Game, Poor SupportI downloaded this game to track my collection of cars. It is a cool concept to be able to play with virtual versions of the cars without opening them. I also bought the track so I could play with my son. The app is fairly simple in terms of racing ability. There are weekly challenges that allow you to earn more cars, but they are the same week after week. It got to the point where I was not playing much. They released an update a few weeks ago. You now have car specific challenges and daily events. It got my interest up, so I ordered the cars to play it. Before the cars arrived I started getting an invalid token error. I contacted support, but the only thing they could suggest was to uninstall the game. Since there is no way to login, there is no way to restore game progress. In fact, I don’t know how game progress will transfer to a new device. You can’t login or create your own user name in this game. Overall, the game is fun for passing time, but I would it count on being able to save your data..Version: 3.4.0

✓ My hot wheels car data has been deleted!Well I actually liked the game for the most part. Racing with my 2 overpowered Id cars I got for Christmas. I managed to get a Lamborghini Miura, a classic batmobile, Twin mill, and a Lamborghini Centario. But when I logged in today to do the daily cup, I found that all my car data was deleted! All the cars I worked hard to get, gone. All my other progress and data was still there, but my cars were gone. I have know idea what caused this, but I could not find any information about this car data loss bug. I got frustrated and removed the game from my phone. ✓ Mattel has no feelings for customersFirst of all It may look like a good game for hot wheels fans but I WAS a hot Wheels fan but some atrocious behaviour in Mattel support made me start a grudge against Mattel. First of all they deleted all the Mattel logins in an update (WHY???) and said they had sent an email to all the parents witch they did not (to us certainly.) Therefore I lost all my progress (which I worked really hard on and spent over £100 pounds on.) In the frantic struggle to get the progress back we turned to Mattel. But they just told us to put in the old password but it just said email is invalid. So we asked them if there was any thing else they could do like MOVING THE ACCOUNT FOR US but they just said that « we regret that we can’t help you. » and when you dig deeper into what other bad things Mattel has done It just gets worse I read a Fandom post listening all the bad things Mattel has ever done, you could even check it out If you like.
