✓ Greed winsGame has seriously gone downhill with the last few updates. Can’t farm anything but the garbage characters nobody wants or uses. The crystal pulls are terrible and you end up with a bunch of 1 or2 star characters which are useless (and again can’t be farmed). The deals are no longer cheap. Used to be able to upgrade a new character a level by paying $5 to $10 . Now the deals are $20, $50 or $100!!!!!!!! Who’s paying $100 for 100 shards of a character and some other useless garbage. You guessed it - whales. Used to be the most f2p game of this ilk on the market. Now just like all the rest. Not worth playing..Version: 1.4.99
✓ Used to be a good gameThis used to be a good game (5-stars) and I played it for a year and regularly purchased in app items. Request to buy things happened at game start-up and had an obvious side panel, which is fine. Unfortunately with the latest release, the demand for money has overwhelmed the game and now every 3-4 clicks brings up a full page request which you have to close. This completely destroys the flow of the game and makes it a pain to play..Version: 1.4.78
✓ Used to be a favorite game, now too greedyI found this game about a month or so after it came out and fell in love. Loved the unique characters, the battle styles and the ability to spend a small amount of money and get great return or play hard and see a return. Now it’s all pay to progress not even win. If you want to get to the next gear tier you have to pay as the pieces are not farmable. You want a character? You have to pay to use a slot machine mechanic to maybe get some shards. New legendary comes out? You have to pay for the character that came out a week ago or you can’t get it. I’d highly advise everyone to stay away from this game if they are new.Version: 1.5.4
✓ Edit: I quit the game. Can’t hold my attention.As a mostly free to play mobile gamer, this is a refreshing hero collecting, turn-based game. The animations are great, the dev team has obviously performed a lot of play testing as nothing seems to be ‘broken’, and I’ve found myself buying cheap packs to support them and the game. It’s simple to pick and can become competitive. If you’re a light spender or free to play, this is a game for you. Let’s hope it stays this way. Edit: I had no connection with the characters, and the play was mostly rehashed from SWGOH. I did not feel like starting over in a similar game to SWGOH. The grind is not fun, whether buying or playing for free. Theory crafting becomes irrelevant when there is too much grinding for shards and mods. By the time a character is fully built, you are already behind the meta. I’d rather jump in to a game and theory craft quickly, than having to use characters chosen for me along a path. So I jumped over to Dragon Champions. I was figuring that at least Disney was not involved trying to pump cash from whales. This could be a fun game or it could turn into yet another SWGOH. Beginning to see signs that cash grab may be in the cards with the Season Battlepass. Reminds me of Hyperdrive Bundle which presaged the end of fun in SWGOH. ✓ Good Game, Bad SystemsI loved the game and actually put a fair bit of money into it but the fact that their ‘buy systems’ could use so many dracoins without a prompt (and no available reversal / refund) was so frustrating I uninstalled the game. I put in a ticket about it and they told me that all sales were final.... After the third accidental purchase of the 2700 dracoin artifact chest (that I honestly did not care in the slightest for it)... I uninstalled the game. All I was trying to do was open it for the free chest and when the screen opened, it automatically opened the 2700 coin chest....Version: 1.3.51

✓ Finally give reviewWhen I played it the first time it didn’t hold my attention so I held on to the game but didn’t play. After some time passed I decided to play it again to add more variety to apps to play and now I stuck with it to play and find enjoyable to play. Sadly one small feature made me question to play it any further and that is “instant Loot”. Why? That’s because it was free to do to begin with but after an update now we have to “pay” to “unlock it” despite the fact it was unlocked before the update. Sure make any purchase to “unlock it” but like I said it was already “free” to do so. So in my point of view it felt like you sad screw you to my face. The game is fun but now forcing us to pay for a feature that was “free” to begin with brings down wanting to play any further hopefully it’s fixed before it’s too late for those who end up paying for it.Version: 1.1.164
✓ Boring, grindy, too little featuresAt first the game seemed quite interesting, in fact I even bought a couple of starting packs, as I felt that maybe it’ll be the right game. Unfortunately after a couple of days of playing the game became very boring and grindy, there were a lot of points that I felt I was progressing really slowly. ✓ Great game but continually crashesThe game is super fun, been playing for a few months now and I am enjoying the game but it always seems to crash over and over and over again. When I try to play arena, crashes...reload. Try to play tower, get into a battle, crashes...reload again, try to play anything...crashes and reload again. Then you have the choice, quit or spend, and this one is not cheap. That’s on top of the terrible ui, complete lack of quality of life features and more than it’s fair share of brain dead bugs and massively unbalanced character pool. Some of these games have good communities, not this one. The official discord is just the same 10 narcissistic end game players who are tragically devoid of any personality and about as helpful as a brick wall. But nope, they have very overpowered characters like Solius and Nightiel that completely crush any other team comp. This is not fun. ✓ Full of bugs on iPad. Listed them all. Poor quality definitely not production ready1. 95% of the times I try to open it, the progress is stuck on 3% which keeps me away from the game for hours 2. Ads for energy doesn’t work. I watched 5 and got nothing 3. Also, one time I wasn’t able to get back to the game after advert was opened 4. On the page showing the guild score my iPad froze!!! I had to do hard restart. 5. Game crushed one time, but I don’t recall exactly from which page it happened. Button line. The game is full of “Show stopper / critical” bugs, the like a quality software house wouldn’t dare releasing before they got sorted. It’s acceptable for alpha version, barely beta, but not for a full release where customers pay money and suffer. The game mechanics are pretty good, the general feel is fun and not-too-serious, and the economy keeps you hungry, which is nice for making you want to come back and play more. I’ve appreciated that a lot of their bundles are just a couple of bucks, which allows for casual spenders to participate, as opposed to catering to whales-only. And if I’d written this up yesterday I probably would have given four stars. But just today Dragon Champions took a big step of increased monetization, with the introduction of the Fortnite-style Battle Pass, and hanging on it is a long-anticipated character for a popular faction. I am not a fan of this. At all. Tournaments are repetitive and boring, nothing original, pick these 5 sorts of characters and then go and fight others all of which are using the same team. But hey if you like a game where you can take a break for 4 months and still find yourself in the top 100 of arena... play this game to your hearts content as that is what this game is all about. ✓ Seriously flawedI had been playing for awhile, level 29 and the game seemed decent. Continuing them the campaigns and when they get too difficult, replaying older missions which is pretty standard for hero collector games. Using the auto-win feature on fights you had previously 3 starred. I log in yesterday and it says in order to auto-win I have to get to the next level or spend money. That’s pretty stupid. These developers take away a feature you get to use and force you to either spend money or replay old content 1 fight at a time just to get back the same functionality you previously had. Besides that fact that game is very unbalanced certain heroes like lula and solius are so overpowered I can’t think of a time I could beat them and I have spent over $400 on this game, They recently had an event where you could win solius if you had your orc team leveled up and I mean fully leveled if you want him I couldn’t even get past the 4th stage because they force you to use an orc team and I didn’t have the skill shards to do anything with them which was demoralizing to me. I’ll keep playing but will not spend another dime on this. If your new just invest in orcs nothing else. When you first start, there is a competition called “new champions”, it’s a private event for new players. Be warned that when you get first, a random older player will be put in the rankings.... it isn’t made for you to win!!! Also, some other events and promo’s don’t actually register when completed. Now you can accidentally spend your coins through without warning via new shady changes. The gap between tier 7 and 8 raids is ridiculous. I can solo parts of 7 as a mostly FTP player. 8 is impossible to do decent damage without paying a lot for your roster. Whale city. I don’t know who decided to make all of these changes, but they have hamstrung their game with greed. ✓ Don’t bother playing unless you are planning on being P2WFor starters unless you are willing to be a pay to win player progression is virtually impossible at certain stages. Sure in time you might get somewhere but taking over a month to clear a single stage is beyond ridiculous. If you are playing every day and literally making zero progress anywhere then basically you may as well not be playing. The arena system is complete and utter garbage. Doesn’t even matter if you have a better team with infinitely better gear scores on all of your team the defense AI will always land everything and you will never land anything. And you basically instantly lose. Add to this the fact that your arena progression is locked and you end up doing what I do which is literally starting a game and auto quitting because there is zero reason to play the match out. You will lose pretty much 100% of the time so basically do your two matches a day to get daily reward and move on. No point in ever doing 5 or more arena fights a day. It would be nice to actually get to star up more characters but I repeatedly get 0 character pieces after 15-20 runs of the same level. Daily energy is limited as all heck so why am I not guaranteed something every time I do a set of 5 runs???? Honestly my biggest issue with this game is the fact that you never feel like you are progressing. Over 2 months in and I literally feel like I have nothing done at all..Version: 1.2.25
