✓ Lazy baseball gameMailed in attempt at a baseball game from a company that is clearly not used to making premium games without micro transactions. The leveling system is tedious and very slow moving Hey, I bet a micro transaction can speed that up! A list of grievances: 1. Lazy lazy voiceover work. I’ve never been as disinterested in the game as when the announcer guy says in a bored tone, “Welcome to Ballistic Baseball”. 2. Announcer needs to be sued by George Bush Sr for his impression of “Not gonna do it” 3. Announcer needs to be sued by Bob Eucher (sp?) for his impression of “Just a little bit outside” 4. Announcer needs to be sued by Chris Mortensen for his impression of “Back back back back back back back back” 5. Announcer doesn’t even say the inning number. It’s always “on to the next inning” or “we head to the bottom of this inning”. 6. Script often makes no sense relative to what’s actually going on in the game Lazy. ✓ Fun but....I’m not sure if I’m missing something but on ballistic bash it is basically impossible to win! My score is higher than the player I’m playing against, but the next screen it says I’ve lost against another player with a crazy high score. Fun but so infuriating!.Version: 1.2.0

✓ Upgrading GameNot a bad game at all. Can play a 3 inning game pretty quick if your on a break. Would like to see the career mode have a season, and stats. Add more teams and be able to manage your team and make trades. Have an option to take out the taunting after a homerun. If you wanted to you could max out all the teams in a week. I was able to max one team in 8 hours. 3/5 is my rating. Still fun to play but will definitely get boring pretty quick if game isn’t upgraded in some form or fashion. ✓ Bit Basic at the moment...1 - Bowling works-well , but batting a bit basic and boring. 2 - teams are a bit imbalanced during an AI game in that all my bowlers are exhausted after first round, AI scoring 20+ and i get caught every ball.. 3- Needs more depth, feels incomplete.. 4- iPhones and iPad controls work ok, however Apple TV theres a few second delay.. The ballistic bash mode has potential but, again, tells you to aim at targets for higher scores, but there is no obvious way to target. Just time the swing to hit the ball. ✓ Latest update a fiascoAs others have said, this is (was) a simple and intuitive way to kill a few minutes. Good graphics and simple gameplay. Since the last iOS update, the game is now an iPhone bricking pain. I open it up, screen goes black (sometimes I hear the music playing in the background) and then all keys, including the lock / volume and the touch screen are unresponsive. It just sits there. If you’re going to mess with a simple formula and “improve” it, how about testing it first so it isn’t an unplayable, phone-ruiner? Shoddy..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Disconnect lossesThis is a fun game to play online however multiplayer has issues. I have played enough games to be one of the top ranked players in the world. I’m number five in batters hit. I can say 80% of my losses I never actually lost a game. It comes to people disconnecting or something somehow goes wrong in the game (disconnect or game hangs) and I’m tagged with the loss and this always happens when I’m winning, usually ahead by a lot I have never ever had this issue happen when I’ve been losing a game. Not once. So it’s obvious when people are losing they do something to cheat and somehow it affects my record. The developers need to fix this..Version: 1.3.3
✓ This could be 5 stars if…… the developers address this one multiplayer issue that has ruined this game for my kids! I’m leaving this review because my 8-year-old is so bothered by this, and considering it used to work, it seems a fix should be easily in order. I hope the developers will read this - I’ll update the review to 5 stars if you fix this multiplayer issue: the last big update made it impossible for the kids to play against each other in multiplayer mode. We don’t let them play random people online. But multiplayer between them hasn’t worked for MONTHS. A message pops up saying that the person who set up the protection should be contacted, but that’s us, and we have no way of resolving it or allowing it. ✓ Mechanics need a lot of workI scored 11 runs in my first inning, finally received an out. Ended up closing the game since I got so bored. ✓ Pretty much hit & hope!Haven’t managed a home run yet in arcade mode. After the tutorial it’s pretty much time your swing and hope for the best! Absolutely zero control over aiming your shot. Constantly hitting the sweet spot yet always getting caught out. Even the addictive ballistic bash mode is ruined by having no control over aiming as it’s absolute luck if you hit the bonus targets. I hit 19 out of 20 home runs in one go yet barely hit any targets so still lost to my opponent in this mode. Just feels like it has so much more to offer but ultimately it’s disappointing unfortunately..Version: 1.5.7

✓ Great game, online play open to glitchersThe game is great. However in the ‘Ranked’ online mode there are issues. 1. If a game doesn’t load & you restart the app as the loading screen won’t end, why do you lose a ranked place? 2. As with all online games the glitchers are out in force. I cannot understand how a ball in the catchers glove can be hit under any other circumstances aside from some form of cheating. ✓ Fun that can be wastedFirst off, I love this game. The cartoony physique of the players, the accessible controls, player/team progression, and outrageous cosmetics gives this game a nice appeal. I can admit that I DO NOT play this game online as I’m not overly competitive. Just a disclosure. My biggest issue with this game is the super-grindy rising star mechanic; where you can unlock unique players that have special abilities every month that can be upgraded with progression points. These points are earned through various monthly, weekly, and daily tasks. The key here is: monthly. If you do not achieve enough points over the period of the month to unlock this player, you start over at the beginning of the next month. I played almost 100 traditional and home run derby games and still didn’t get enough to unlock the player, only to loose what I had at the start of the month to ABSOLUTE ZERO. Again, this game is fun, but it really feels like it was originally a free-to-play game that supports a cash shop, only to have these items removed to get it on Arcade..Version: 1.9.18

✓ Issues and issues.My kids and I loved this game, however ever since the latest big update they have not been able to play online (they only played online with each other and me). I’ve gone through and tried to match up settings with my device, but haven’t been able to get it to work for months now. Before the update with content and privacy restrictions in place, we could play each other. Since then a message just pops up and says contact the person who set up the protection to allow it. I’m that person and there isn’t a way to get them in a multiplayer situation no matter what the setting. It’s frustrating, because this was a great game for kids their age..Version: 1.14.7

✓ Glitches too prevalent to take seriousThe main issue I have with this apps severe and catastrophic glitches is that there’s zero ability to report the occurrence from within the game itself. So they just linger on. Do you know how long the Dirt Demon homerun contestant has been screwed up with 500’ moon shots or line drive lasers off the outfield wall? Since day 1 for me. The career mode was decent in the beginning, but as you progress levels the catastrophic freezes her more frequent. And the final nail comes via the new play-and-progress 1v1 online competition within the career model. I reached level 23 I think. Every other win is another step up and automatically saved so you don’t slide backwards more than one ranking/level. That means every other game you face sliding one position if you lose. OR IF THE GAME CANT FIND YOU AN OPPONENT! 4x in a row I tried to beat that level after progressing from my last saved spot. And all 4x the game connected, loaded, then kicked me back to the Home Screen and I LOST that position I just won. Weak effort by the developer to maintain a good report and tackle issue. ✓ One Inning Tie?!Unless I’m completely missing something, you can only play 1 inning games in career mode(at least at the beginning). What’s worse is that if neither team scores after that one inning, the game ends in a tie.. TERRIBLE. There are times my runner tries to go from first to third on a bloop single only to be thrown out at third and I have no control over that. I’ve yet to find an online opponent so I’m stuck playing against AI. When I see a baseball game, the last thing I think of is a game that ends after 1 inning no matter the score. Too often I missed due to inaccurate miss taps/clicks. It appears to be even worse with a controller in hand, compared to the touch-screen. Plus, on many occasions I noticed a big frame rate drop, right when I need to throw or hit a ball, which resulted in bad timing. I do like the background music, but the voice-over doesn’t seem very adequate to real-life Baseball presenters. Also, despite what others say... I think the visual style matches the tone of the game very well. Listen and address some of the positive & negative feedback you receive here, and I think you vastly improve the game :).Version: 1.0.4

While playin as the team out on the field, an opposing base runner clearly thrown out at 3rd (happened when there was a force and also when a tag needed to be applied) runs through 3rd and scores. Can’t even be thrown and tagged out at home plate because they magically start going light speed. While at bat: steal 2nd safely and by a large margin but are called out multiple times. I do like the increased input on base running and choosing which base to throw to after fielding. How about a throw to a relay or cutoff man? It cuts to tag animation much less than before, even when the play is close. Overall have really liked the game in the past but recent update frustrates and kills the motivation to play it..Version: 1.12.15
✓ Terrible gameSure the visuals are good; they have to be given the market the game is competing in, but gameplay is shocking. - ‘Career Mode’ doesn’t seem to contain any kind of league structure or success at all; it’s simply about training players up. - There’s no bonus point structures at all, for example for a strike-out you’d expect some reward for the pitcher, or for a batter for a home run... - I’ve a pitcher with 5 star for Stamina - they can’t even pitch out two innings. - Playing against another human is not more fun, it is exactly the same but with the disadvantage that your 1.5 star team can be matched against a 4.5 star team. ✓ AbsurdThe computer is insane and so is the matchmaking. I just restarted with a different team so this team is low level. I will get a perfect hit with the sweet spot with a 3 star player and it will just leave the infield. The computer 1/2 star hitter will hit on the very end of the bat and will hit the back wall. When trying to play against real players I will have a 2-3 star players and be paired against teams where every player is a 5 star player that hits a home run no matter where I throw the ball even with perfect pitches. The game has a lot of potential and is entertaining but the matchmaking and computer make the game almost unplayable..Version: 1.7.14

✓ Doesn't know rules of baseballIf you know and like baseball, you may not like this game. So many issues. 1) Errors aren't when someone drops a ball. An error is when a runner advances because of a misplayed ball. If I'm throwing the ball in after a base hit and the 2nd baseman drops the ball but the runner doesn't move, yeah, not an error. 2) Rundowns can be more than 3 moves. When advancing manually, you can go ahead, back, and then forward one more time. After that, you can't return. What‽ 3) If a runner scores and THEN a following runner is out on a tag (like the batter between 1st and 2nd) for the 3rd out, that run still scores. Not in Ballistic Baseball. 4) If there are already two outs, the runners don't need to return to the base. On more than one occasion a popup gets dropped with a runner on first RETURNING!! then they're forced out at 2nd!!! Fix the AI runners or at least let us control it. 5) Allow tagging up on fly balls to the outfield. For some reason the run controls are disabled for fly balls. 6) Let me know when someone is stealing. It happens in a real game. But in Ballistic, the only notice I get is the runner almost there. Even with maxed out pitchers and infielders opponents are still getting constant bunts to advance runners and score runs. I refuse to play against opponents who want to play that way. ✓ So disappointing...I cannot review the PVP side of the game but if you’re against the CPU you will be in for a rude shock. Even on easy level the game plays out as though the score is predetermined and you feel as though no matter what you do the outcome is set in stone regardless of your skill or attempts at strategy. If the AI determines that you need to lose badly then that’s what will happen. If it determines you can scrape through a win then that’s what will happen. I find it quite frustrating that I can hit multiple home runs in ballistic bash mode and yet not be able to achieve a single home run over three innings in arcade mode on easy level. Really???? ✓ No more training pointsI was saving up training points to evolve a player. I needed 50 to upgrade one player. It stopped giving me training points when I reached 28 points. I decided to use them and was able to max out every player on my roster. It then promoted me to the Star league. Now I don’t earn training points when I play an AI game. It shows that I have an option to evolve all of my 3 and 4 star players. What’s going on? I have found nothing explaining this. I really like this game as a distraction from reality but I would like to upgrade my players. I’m also not gaining any points in the Star League according to the graphic..Version: 1.6.7

✓ Decent Gameplay - Lacking ContentThis game gets stale VERY fast. After you’ve played the first 10-20 games, there is very little noticeable improvement in characters and the games are all the same. Also, the hitting mechanic needs work. There’s really no way to adjust the power/trajectory of your swing. So once a character gets past ~2.5 stars in power, anytime you hit the ball outside the available gaps it ends up being a fly out. No way to hit a line drive or take power off for base hit. And once you go online not only it takes a few minutes to find someone to play against but once you do ! ✓ Good, with lots of room for improvementFun baseball game. If you enjoyed old console games from back in the day, this is a nice little update. Only fun against AI though. Online mode it’s almost impossible to get a hit. Everyone just paints the corners with pitches or pitches balls. Most of my online games end in 0/0 ties or with the opponent forfeiting out of boredom. Also, with the latest update the Ballistic Bash feature has become exceedingly difficult to hit home runs. Playing with nearby friends with Game Center (a feature were looking forward to) just does not work. It never connects. Playing career mode against AI is where it’s at; you get pitches you can hit, which makes it a lot more fun..Version: 1.8.11

✓ Really liked the game…I was addicted. One problem I had is in online mode. Any team I played against was far stronger than me and bunted every time to beat me. The gameplay could use a little work there. But what caused me to quit playing… I was working on getting one of the special players to 5 stars, but once I got the player at 3 stars, my star points stopped adding up. It also told me I needed updated to get new monthly goals, but I didn’t need an update. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it, and I still couldn’t get monthly goals or star points, so I didn’t see the point in playing. It seems very difficult to get help, but I’ll gladly change my rating if someone can fix this. I’d also like to see my special player at 5 stars because I spent a lot of time working on it..Version: 1.10.4

✓ Am I missing something?I first started the game and got a very short tutorial. I start the first game and the only thing you seem to do is throwing and batting. There are very detailed written tips about what happens if you hit the ball a certain way, what happens if you throw a ball a certain way, what happens if you try to steal a base etc... but there seems to be very little control over any of that. Stealing bases for example seems to happen automatically. At least if there was a way to control what your runners do, the tutorial doesn’t tell you how. You can throw the ball in certain ways and in certain areas when you pitch, and you can look at where the batter is standing to see if you can get them to hit poorly and that’s probably the most control you have. When you are batting you just have to guess and just time the hit properly and then hope your batter hits the ball in the sweet spot. You don’t have any control after you pitch or bat. If your batter had a high enough speed stat he might get 1st base. How your fielders catch the ball or who they pass it to etc. again all happens automatically. I don’t understand why there are walls of text of tips for things you don’t appear to have control over, other than trying to make this game appear to have depth it doesn’t have. ✓ The scamming is ridiculous.They need to prevent players from intentionally disconnecting when they are losing. Mostly Far East players at night. It does nothing for development and advancement Follow up: At higher levels it becomes a buntfest. I’ve gotten better at dealing with them but it isn’t realistic baseball. There should be a limit per inning, otherwise players will do it the whole time. Only other solution is to make it more difficult to bunt and get on base Update: they say they trying to balance the game. I give them an extra star for that. They need to develop a new pitcher who can counter the bunt. A knuckleballer or whatever. The game is not enjoyable, nor realistic, when players only play to bunt, which is what you get here. Only way to make it unenjoyable for them is to stall by waiting the full allotted 10 sec and pitch balls outside so they can’t bunt. It can drag the game out for hours but makes it as unenjoyable for them as they make it for others. If you really want to get under their nerves press sub pitchers in between pitches and at last second cancel. That adds another 10 sec. The game needs more balance to stop these idiots who get off on bunting every time.Version: 1.7.14

✓ Not fun anymoreUpdate: The developers updated the game and somehow managed to screw it up terribly. Before I had gripes (see below) but the game was at least fun. Now it’s just plain boring, glitchy, and super annoying. Don’t bother. Ballistic Bash can be fun trying to hit the targets but the game cheats you from hitting targets sometimes and you hardly ever win because the AI suddenly gets a thousand points right at the end. So it ends up just super aggravating and annoying. The actual baseball part of the game is the opposite when you play the AI where it’s basically impossible to lose. Unless I’m missing something there is no mode to make the game harder. I won a game 57-0 recently. But here is the thing that really bothers me and it isn’t just this game but many. No way to make change the controls for left handed players. It’s like we don’t exist. This could easily be a great game but the developers half-a**ed some parts, cheat on other parts and you either win all the time in “real” baseball mode or lose all the time in ballistic bash mode..Version: 1.12.16
✓ Good for a few days then better off deleting itHere’s the thing the game mechanics are fun and you enjoy it at the start but the main career mode is based around an ai which is easy to beat after a few games to get the hang of things or a online system which is based around maxing your players speed then bunting and stealing bases making it basically impossible to prevent the scoring of runs which means that the first team to bat essentially just runs up the score which is no fun at all and is just frustrating. ✓ Frustrating when it freezesI started playing this game yesterday and have already experienced 3 instances where I was leading, the game froze and there was no other option but to quit and lose my training points. If I didn’t have to subscribe to Apple Arcade and eventually pay for it, this wouldn’t be a problem. ✓ Fun for the most partPlaying this game online is nothing short of frustrating. Players intentionally disconnect forcing you into a loading screen that seems like the game is frozen forcing you to leave the game and forfeit any upgrade points. When they do play they will throw pitches ONLY outside of strike zone which are virtually impossible to get a decent hit on, and when they’re batting it’s really just a competition to see who can get the most bunts. Ballistic bash mode was great at first but very recently i’ve noticed no matter how perfectly you time the swing and place the location right in the sweet spot i went from hitting roughly 17/20 home runs down to 2/20 if i’m lucky?? Don’t know what changed but my average score has dropped from ~1,500 down to no more than 500. Small gripes honestly, aside from the online mode being extremely frustrating due to other players and whatever recent changes were made to batting mechanics in ballistic bash the AI career or arcade mode is a lot of fun..Version: 1.11.15

✓ Happy there's a baseball game... Too bad...Too bad it's very hard to beat AI. There's some pitcher meter system that determines how accurate and fast your pitch is... Unfortunately this doesn't mean a thing to the AI who can hit any ball you pitch any time. It's really a beating you'll take and barely beat them most of the time. And defence? It's all fully automated so it might give up mosr attempts at double plays etc. Meanwhile the AI defence is always catching you out. I love baseball... ✓ Good....could be greatUpdate to my original review below. There have been many notable features added to the game, but overall the experience is no better. Live opponents simply bunt their way to base hits and runs (if player has maxed out speed, almost every bunt results in a base hit). Playing AI is equally as frustrating as the AI is very easy to beat, and doesn’t adapt/learn and react to the human opponents tendencies (and AI throws way too many pitches right down the middle of the plate). Lastly, there is a slight improvement in finding opponents to play online in career mode, but not much of one. I often have no luck getting a single match. I am dropping my rating from 3 stars to 2 as I’m almost at the point of deleting this app and finding another iOS baseball game to play. ———————— This is a really fun game - developers have made several improvements since it was first released and I hope this continues. In career mode, I would also like to see an option to play a season and career / season statistics for the players. The bad part about this game is that playing AI is really boring. Not a challenge at all as it’s easy to fool AI hitters and the AI pitching is very predictable. What makes the unchallenging AI even worse is that it’s hard to find online opponents to play (would rather not play AI opponents at all). Worse still is that when I do find someone to play, I often get disconnect (which makes it that much more frustrating ... and it’s not my internet connection either as I have no issues with any other game or online service). Maybe there simply isn’t enough players online at any given time - if this is the case, it’s a real shame, as playing live opponents is where this game really shines. If you’re thinking about downloading this game, PLEASE do, as the more that play it, the better it will be for everyone. Lastly, I find it nearly impossible to play this game on Apple TV - the lag from my Bluetooth controller makes it nearly impossible to time your hitting. This makes it frustrating and essentially unplayable (I don’t fault the developers for this - could just be my Apple TV and/or my controller). Overall, I think this is a solid game. ✓ Alright, howeverThis is probably one of the better baseball apps on the store but there’s a lot of things they could do better. Firstly for any new players, if you play against AI’s in the career training, do NOT upgrade your characters until you’ve banked a bunch of tokens. As you upgrade your players, they’ll add an inning to the games and the stadiums look a little different however, you only gain 5 upgrade points for every win. It doesn’t matter if you’re a 3 star team or a 1 star, you only get 5 upgrade tokens, which is definitely not worth it when you’re playing 3 innings or more. Playing through the career is the only way to advance your team and players, which is ridiculous. Why play any of the other game modes, when you don’t get any kind of rewards or progress. The online multiplayer is a joke. Even if you find someone to play against, there’s a 78.5% chance they will leave and you’ll have to play against AI’s. And guess what, you only get 5 upgrade if they leave and you win... Overall, it’s a pretty fun game to pass the time. I think they could make the game so much better..Version: 1.3.3

✓ Worst Game On ArcadeI have had this game for a while and have always noticed it to be terrible yet somehow addicting. When playing against AI’s the games are rigged in their favor (especially in homerun derby) and when playing against actual players it is impossible because of hackers. I have played for so long today in career ranked, maybe 20-30 games, and every single person who I played had a fully maxed out team. It is near impossible to level up without cheats and the only way to level up is to spend days or weeks grinding this game to level up. But you will never be able to compete. ✓ BugsSo I’ve been playing a week, noticed there is a weird awful bug where if you have a runner on third and get hit, do not try to run with the person on third. It’s double play no matter where the ball is caught. I guess they get them out at home with a tag and find a way to throw to first in time. Don’t know but happened it online play and AI play. ✓ Pretty fun but...The “bunt people” are no fun to play against. Once they level up all they do is bunt and can never be thrown out at first. The only solution is to throw only balls off the (in the yellow zone). The algorithm should at least guarantee a 5 star speed player a chance of being thrown out at first. Right now it’s a guaranteed hit. Aside from that it’s a generally fun game until you run into those online players. Update… work your pitcher to 5 star fielding and you get a better chance of throwing the hunters out at first. Also, throw balls outside to the hunters initially with a pitch other than some curve that crosses the plate. I’m still winning at .750 when starting new career teams against these idiots. ✓ Fun but quirkyThis is definitely an “arcade” version of baseball. Sure you can build up your team over time. But the controls during play are very limited. Some things are inconsistent (outs are updated at different times when you’re at bat or in the field). You can tell if something is a hit when your runners start running - if they don’t move you know it’s a fly out. And then there are the random fly ball drops in the infield, which still convert to an out because the runners never go. The “online” component is almost useless. It will search and search and search for a match. Today I finally got one, and then it disconnected me and told me it was my fault. But... Often this takes the form of them taking an extra base which they were never going to make and being run out Repetitive- Very little variation in the game play. Yes baseball is repetitive, but at the same time, because there is nothing riding on the games, they is no change in what you do. Without the games meaning something in terms of a league/progression, every game means the same Online- A real struggle to connect with other people to play online. I just quit game when this happens and you should too. ✓ Looks cool. Gameplay is horrific.The game has a fun gameplay to it. Kind of a silly spin on a baseball game. Not too serious but not that silly. I’ve played it for at least 15-20 hours so far. Annnnnnddddd, unfortunately the game isn’t that great. Trying to setup an online opponent is difficult at best. When you do making contact when swinging at pitches is ridiculous. Everyone just pitches off the plate because any player leveled up to full stars pretty much always hits the ball to the fence or a homerun. Pitching is such a drag for the same reason. Playing against the computer is SOOO easy once you have leveled up your players. Your top players will hit a couple homeruns every game at that point. The players are far too fast on the basepaths with full speed rating. Maybe some additional gameplay is in the works. At this point it was a decent subscription Apple Arcade game..Version: 1.3.3
