✓ Vile and absolutely horrendous !!If there was a word for that is worser than vile that describes this game I will use it firstly you go into battle with the worst dragons ever and secondly you waste sooooo much gems for speeding things up I have to wait ages just for little things and it requires 20 gems to speed things up and 150 to buy useless dragons. Before downloading this game read this review. ✓ Coming backI played this game for a while a few weeks ago and it was PERFECT. Loved it and introduce a friend to it and they adore it as well. I struggle with focus so I ended up leaving the game for a few weeks and upon return the ads are insane, I can’t do anything and my friend who I introduced hasn’t had a single ad aside from the ones you do for prizes. They haven’t paid to remove them, haven’t paid anything whatsoever and yet I get ads when they don’t. I love the game but all the ads and some of the events are overwhelming and kill some of the charm when I came back to it..Version: 6.2.0
✓ Great game to begin with but too many flawsThe game is really fun to play off the start with satisfying music, amazing dragons and good graphics but as you get further into the game it’s annoying and ridiculous to progress further, the money spacing between things is awful, like it costs 8k to remove a little plant from island 2 and the spacing on island one is just annoying, they’ve made it all in even and you just end up with massive gaps that are 1 square off from being able to put another habitat or farm etc there, just triggers me, the only way to get the second hatchery thug and to upgrade the ancient portal is through gems which is time consiming and boringgggg.Version: 4.5.6
✓ MonotonousLong term player currently locked out due to game issues where screen goes black on clicking X to opening ad screen. This was a good game but has slowly become very monotonous and not worth the effort. Being clan leader the clan part is the best aspect but not enough “clan” based options to make the game more interactive with each other. Would be good to have pinned posts and an area to leave messages and notes so we know when people are on holidays etc. Improvements can be definitely made. 6 hourly quest completion should be increased to 12 hourly as it’s killing our desire to be in the game. ✓ Great game , but….I love this game and have been playing for many years , there are 2 problems I have though 1. Everting in this game takes ages, food, breeding and so on I think the times should be lowered as when you go on for 20 minutes you have run out of things to do because your waiting for stuff to be done. I underrating that if you lower the time you have to wait to much then it will no longer be enjoyable but I would love it if the waiting times were shortened 2. This is a more major problem …. About a month ago I opened the game and found all my progress gone. I didn’t understand because I had been online about a week before and everything was fine , I tried to contact them only to talk to an A.I and basically get ignored , it’s now been a month and I have had no response from them , this seriously needs to be fixed , it ruined my years of hard work 😓 I am only giving it 3 stars because of the many years of enjoyment but would not recommend you get to into the game after my experience. ✓ Not great and not terribleThe game concept and general mechanics are ok. Leveling up your dragons without spending real dollars gets hard once they hit the mid 20s and accessing new content successfully without leveling them up is pretty much impossible so be prepared to rinse and repeat battles over and over while you grow food and collect scrolls. If you do choose to spend real dollars, everything is so ridiculously overpriced... as in who the heck is dumb enough to spend $100 US dollars for items that will take less than an hour to run through? So, it’s an ok game, kills time between activities. The real downside are the ads. I don’t mind games ads, it’s what makes these games “free” after all. Unfortunately the ads contracted in this game frequently crash the game, open random windows in the browser, and when they say the add will finish in 5, it really means until you force it to stop otherwise it’ll just keep going. Also, it gets old having ads pop up about every 3 minutes. Added note: I stuck it out but I’m done. When they set it up so you can’t pass a boss due to their in game mechanics then put a timer on your attempts to keep you from fulfilling the quest line before the timer runs out on Sunday, I’m done. ✓ Game is inaccessible because of a bug.Hello i am writing today to report a problem with the game. I really wanted to play this game again, a few years ago i began playing it until a huge issue ruined the game and i was no longer able to play. I re-downloaded it and experienced the same issue. When you first download the game it asks you for your age and gender, I put 13 as I am 13 and it said that I couldn’t access this game in my country because of an age restriction, which makes no sense as it is a 9+ game. A pop up on the sign-in page basically said that i was too old or young to play which is sad , I cannot play or access the game anymore because of this issue . It is not the chat age restrictions this time, it’s game accessibility. I really hoped it would work now because its been a while but it doesn’t as I downloaded this years ago, the issue still exists. I didn’t know what to do as I could not see a contact support option in the game. This issue needs to be fixed, this breaks and ruins the entire game. ✓ Too many ads!I love the game, and I have been playing it for years. But the one thing I hate is the constant ads. Like, I get an ad less than fifty seconds or logging in. And then, whenever I try to tap a habitat/arena battle/champagne map/ anything else, it loads and ad and then it sends me to Safari to look at it and it takes way to long to get back in. I'm so frustrated!!!! The Packs are expensive and I don't like that in the Arena that they match you up with people way higher than you. Sometimes for the refresh, it just gives you more hard ppl to battle and I keep losing. Yes I know I have to feed and send my dragons to the academy to get stronger, but that doesn't work. I keep getting matched up against way stronger ppl! And yes, I know everything is not free and you need the money, but one pice of advice is to make the ads less consistent. Another thing that needs to be fixed is the ad videos for card packs and gift chests. Either the ads don't load, or the game crashes and then I have to wait another 12 hours to start this crap again. ✓ Good but like a python...This game will slowly squeeze you and you won’t even realize how much money you have spent. As a four year veteran of the game and still active player, I have seen the game evolve from a quaint little game that children enjoy, where you could get very far if you just put in the time, into a flashy Las Vegas casino where there is lots of fun to be had if you just part with a little of your cash! To be fair, it is still a fun game as a distraction but as the game has progressed, you can no longer reach the same levels or even complete the ever more frequent ‘special’ events without either parting with real money or by forgoing family, friends and sleep to reach the forever increasing targets they set for you. I’m still playing and still enjoying it but just consider this fair warning. On the plus side, the graphics and artwork are totally awesome in this game. At least when they are not trying to rush out new dragons. And the recent changes to the dungeon level go some way towards restoring the balance between actual game play, mindless tedium and just dumb luck but it’s still heavily weighted towards the latter. The ability to swap dragons in and out of dungeon battles rather than having to wait for them to die before you can use another dragon would bring this review up one more star for me at least. ✓ Fun for a few days onlyThe game starts great. Fun and easy to navigate plus good graphics. BUT some major flaws. The only ways to get a second hatchery is with gems. Gems cost real money.. or you can wait and slowly collect 150 to buy one. The first dragons take a few hours to hatch. As you go further it can take days to hatch an egg. Yes days ! Also to progress you need to buy temples to upgrade your dragons. The space on the land is too small so you must expand. The first piece of land you’re allowed to buy cost a fortune and it’s full of obstacles which cost a fortune to remove. So basically I reached a level where I needed more space for the habitats and farms and temples etc, saved up to buy the new land and then still couldn’t use it. An egg blocked my hatchery for 2days while 2 dragons were trapped waiting to get out of the breeding pen. All became too tedious to continue..Version: 3.9.0
✓ Fun but $$$, time, sleep, family & life consuming!!I really enjoy the game, graphics are great, but quite glitchy - get booted and can’t get back in for ages. I’m assuming their servers can’t cope with the traffic. To be able to compete on a decent level and actually get anywhere worthwhile in the game you really need to spend. You won’t realise just how much you’re spending. To compete in the special events and actually have a chance at winning them, then say goodbye to sleep, family, work, money and life in general. It’s a shame to see the game move away from fun and friendly to money sucking and life consuming. ✓ A few suggestions...First of all, Gameloft, please listen to my review and my suggestions I'm redoing my review because I have tried looking at it from a different perspective and I now think that you should let the Facebook and Clan thing be allowed for only over 13's and over 18's get the same but they shouldn't share a clan with over 13's. And also let younger children under 13 play too! They, of course, will have clans and Facebook disabled. I also think that you should ask for birthdays so the game can know when you get older, as a solution to many complaints. ✓ Really fun but some flawsIt's a great game with lots of features, but there are a few issues. Firstly, as you progress it becomes increasingly harder to move on without paying, and that discourages a lot of people who don't have the money to spend. Secondly, there is no way to delete your data if you want to start from scratch. This is an issue for me, as I started a while ago and made some pretty big mistakes and I want to start over. You have to make money, but it should not interfere with gameplay, the promotional banners get in the way of seeing the island and attending all that you need to progress. ✓ Love this game but...This game is a very enjoyable game in my opinion. I’ve played this game for 4 years and I’ve loved hatching and collecting dragons, as well as participating in events. The community is great aswell. Overall, I love this game and all the things you can do in it. However, after the new update of 4.8 in September 2019, they introduced ridiculously high age bans of 16 in Eu etc. Due to this age ban, I’ve been banned from my game even though I am 18+ and I started the game when I was 15 or 16. I’ve tried to get help with unbanning my account or changing my age from gameloft. I’ve sent countless messages on different social media’s and to no avail. As enjoyable as this game is, if there’s things that ban people for no good reason such as stupidly high age bans, even when they are above the age limit and if you receive no help to get unbanned or just to get help in general from gameloft, then I can’t give this game that I love a high review as I physically can’t play it. ✓ I lost everythingSo let me tell you, this game is really fun, but it does get kinda boring after along time, and after you get higher levels with higher level dragons it get too hard to beat the battles, and soon I had to switch my phone to the iPhone 12, and when I played the game, it restarted all of my 3 years worth of progress, I lost every dragon (which I had almost all of them) all my progress, i lost everything, I spent 3 years worth of progress which made me really upset, and it took me 3 years to get every dragon I had and every bit of progress I had, and I don’t use Facebook or Game Center, so I can’t get anything back, and I finally just deleted the game, I’m really upset and wouldn’t recommend changing devices when you have a lot of progress on this game, cause you will lose everything if you don’t have Facebook or you don’t use Game Center, I would honestly recommend not to even get the game, cause it gets really hard once you get far in, and I’m really surprised i actually got high in the game without spending any money, so my recommendation is to not even get the game, cause when you switch your device you will probably lose everything..Version: 5.8.0

✓ A fun time waster, but be mindful of purchases.I’ve played this game since way back in the day with my old phone. It’s a great game that resembles Pokémon but with dragons. However, gems are very expensive, and some events are very misleading. Don’t buy gems if you’re in a rush to finish a event. I literally thought by the end of this one event I would be able to get a guaranteed event dragon, however I was met by a 1/15 deal where I had to open the chest 15 more times for the drake. The chest of which also too 2000 stepping stones, which if you have no gems forces you to buy 300 gems which costs 10$. So every time I opened the chest I’d have to have bought about 150$ for a dragon that’s not even legendary. Yikes. Otherwise the game can take you days to reach milestones or get the dragon of the week, don’t fall into the trap of buying gems to speed things along either. Just play the game when your portal recharges and eggs naturally hatch, or watch ads to speed up the process. ✓ I play a lot but there’s issues…So my only big issues are the timers are really overtly long and I would like that to be a tad shorter if is possible, also the ads are a little too pushy as in forcing you to watch them, although you can very much turn on airplane mode, that removes the ability to get most items by watching ads, and the last big issue is the most “upsetting”, the racist designs of some dragons, for example the “ceremony” and “tribal dragon” are very stereotypical of indigenous people and also I think the Chinese characters that come on the whale boat are a but stereotypical aswell, although that’s just my point of view i would appreciate if the designs were altered to be more accurate and representing of the actual cultures themselves tho, thank you for reading and considering (hopefully) all these nitpicks, if you can’t come to change anything that’s fine I guess but I would appreciate it very much!..Version: 7.5.0

✓ Piggy bank for what?I like the game, quite fun to make hybrids and fight almost endlessly. However you are to be warned! If you have ever purchased anything you end up with a piggy bank which supposedly saves your gems. But if you want to get the gems from it you need to pay! Why do you need to pay for the gems you EARNED while playing? Most annoying part: Gems are saved in piggy bank for a certain time and then they expire. If you look at the support they also explain that this piggy bank only appears for certain accounts. In other words if they realise you can pay they use your money as if you are a cow: they are asking for more milk! This is unacceptable. ✓ Fun game with problemsThere is so much to do in this game and it can be really fun at times, even though it’s hard to play it for more than 20 minutes at a time. Unless you spend huge amounts of money there is hardly any playtime at all. The game is very pay to win. It wants you to spend giant amounts of real money that some players don’t have. If you don’t spend all that money than the game is really difficult and frustrating. Another problem is the ads. It’s a free game, of course it’s going to have ads, but there shouldn’t be an ad pop up every 2 minutes. Especially when those ads will crash my iPad (it’s a good, new iPad, shouldn’t be crashing) or they will take me to the AppStore without me pressing anything. It seems like the X will alway take me right to the AppStore. The only way I have found to get out of the ads is to close the window. ✓ Too glitchyThis used to be my favourite game - now it won’t load or when it does it doesn’t connect to my internet even though it’s linked to my Facebook account. You also have to play with a team if you want to get anywhere which I hate with a passion. ✓ Glitchy and too hard.This game is becoming more and more like a pokie machine. Impossible to enjoy unless you spend A LOT of money on in-app purchases. It’s glitchy and too hard unless you dedicate to playing 24/7. Unfortunately, most people have families and friends and jobs and housework to do so it’s not possible to complete most competitions. The only time I’ve been able to win castle events was when I had pneumonia and was stuck in bed with nothing else to do... it’s disappointing how no matter how hard you play it’s impossible to win if you work and sleep. Even if I do spend money it doesn’t mean I’ll win either. Usually with a game you pay $80 and you own it... ✓ Decent game, but too money grabbingBeen playing for about a week, and the gameplay mechanics are definitely great for a game of its type, but almost every aspect of it is ruined by attempts from the developers to get more money. For example, the second breeding cave costs £5 but you only get to use it for a month, after that you need to buy it again! Gems are incredibly expensive and accomplish very little. For example, to skip the breeding time on a 24 hour egg (which in competing games is 24 gems) it cost 90 gems! ✓ Bugs and adds. To the point of unenjoyableI’ve played the game years ago and decided to rejoin it since I enjoyed it a lot and wanted replay it. I was extremely surprised that you would get adds when you don’t even click on a “watch an add for ____ reward” just adds that would pop up randomly. And when watching an add for a reward, sometimes it won’t even give it to you. I’ve just now spinners the wheel 6 times and gotten nothing because the wheel won’t spin. It’s infuriating and ruins the experience. I think watching adds to reduce time is a great idea but I don’t like that it only appears for certain things and only sometimes.
