I would have given it five stars, except for… The ads they have been running lately — those videos that give you some extra coins or a free turn. Do not click on this option. Three times now, when I have tried for some extra coin, it has taken me to an ad that insists on a ‘swipe’ interaction or it will not close. Waited several minutes, but the ad persisted. If you swipe on it (which I did once by accident), it takes you to an unsafe site (caught by my NAV, thankfully). The only way to close the ad is to close the app, which of course means that your progress on the last turn is lost. So, enjoy the game and the story, but avoid the free turn and coin offers, etc. like the plague..Version: 84.4

✓ Great game, but very difficultI downloaded this a few weeks ago and until recently, it’s been very fun! The story is interesting, I like slowly learning more information about the characters and the recent Flower Festival event is a brilliant idea. However, my only complaint is that after a while, the levels become increasingly difficult to the point they just become frustrating. Of course, I’m not expecting to breeze through every level, but when you use all three booster items on a “normal difficulty” level and still lose over and over, the game no longer becomes fun. There’s also the added insult of finally passing that difficult level, only for the next one to be just as hard- considering I am still on the somewhat earlier levels in the game (chapter 3, level 175) I am a little worried about future levels. I’m now stuck on my current level with no boosters and no coins, with nothing to do but throw lives at the level and hope I get lucky, or watch the ad chest. I really want to give this game five stars, but I just can’t if it leaves you this bored and fed up with the difficulty..Version: 18.2

Also, as far as the story goes, it’s exciting, but also told in bite-size chunks so I don’t get bored. ✓ Fun but could be better…Honestly, this is a pretty fun and addicting game. It’s very generous with the infinite hearts they give you and, overall, the gameplay runs smoothly (little ads as well). Definitely a good game for when you just want to wind down or procrastinate! The only issue I have with this game is that it takes so much effort to just progress even a little in the story. The levels get progressively harder and, once you reach level 70+, it will most likely take you at least 2 tries to clear a level. And all of that for 1 measly star. I usually save up my stars until I reach around 15, but even then my stars run out quickly with little progress to the story because there’s so many tiny things that cost a lot of stars you have to do regarding re-decorating the mansion (some actions take multiple stars to complete as well, which is annoying). Cause of this, I think the game’s a bit unbalanced in that the matching part of the game gets repetitive really quickly. I feel like it would’ve been better if you either get more stars for each level you complete (especially from the harder-difficulty levels) or each star awarded you with more of the story rather than simply redecorating every tiny corner of the mansion (which itself can get repetitive after a while as well). That way players can have a good balance of playing the matching games and then relaxing after they’ve saved enough stars to progress with the story without either aspect becoming too repetitive, keeping the game fresh and interesting. But what I did not expect was how clever the storyline is, how funny and relatable the characters are, and everything else! ✓ Great game, but...It has wonderful graphics and interesting story behind it, but I think it needs some changes to make it more exciting. For example watching an advertisement should give you more than just one additional move, after all we are spending 30 seconds to watch it. It should be same 5 extra moves, as with buying them with the game coins. It is probably easier to give a player a choice - to spend coins or watch add. Besides something like cleaning a table shouldn’t take so many levels to play - it’s getting boring and discouraging to play. The other thing that needs to be modified - the amount of doubling your coins at the end of the level, otherwise it is getting also discouraging to continue to play, unless you will spend some real money. Who can do it - will spend it anyway, but kids have only that much of their allowance... I didn’t have any glitches or game hiccups and the game loads quite fast without long stain pictures between levels. So, overall it’s a great game! ✓ Really well doneThis game is honestly really well done compared to others of the same category. The decorating portion is great - the options are fun to pick from and worth completing the levels for. The story is wonderful! You genuinely get invested in the characters and the game because of it. It’s well put together and engaging - you’re not annoyed trying to figure out some mystery all the time, it’s more like a slice of life story which is a really refreshing change. Plus, everything is spelt right and the grammar is perfect. The levels their self are interesting. Obviously quite a few are hard but there’s easier ones mixed in to keep the game engaging. The life system is one of the best I’ve seen. You can ask teammates for lives every four hours or so and they actually stack. You can get multiple sets of lives and that’s a really good way to do it! It would be nice to have more lives in general (maybe like ten) but I’m always going to pick faults. The chapters are well done too - they separate out the story and give you really good rewards when you finish them. I also find this game far more generous with free power-ups etc. The storyline actually sticks to the period pretty well! Thank you for not posting ads for this game involving pregnancy tests and abandonment. And romance happened at a much slower pace in the past - do not be in a rush players! If I have any criticism, it would be the lack of admirable characters. Even our heroine is a bit snippy. Poor Mr Allen is dealing with so much, mom and dad are not exactly role models. It demonstrates the mother’s wish to marry her daughter off while the daughter has other plans. The other, similar games have the young lady that is either single, with child or a child in tow. Each struggles to restore a lavish home she inherits from a family member that leave her their mansion in a state of disarray. ✓ Better than most match three games being mass produced.I’m surprised at the above average quality this game provides, unlike some that force disgusting narratives in their ads to be used as ad revenue for the only purpose of drawing in negative attention. All the same, if I would suggest anything for improvement, my suggestion (being very minuscule.) would be to change the cover art for the app. Like most match three app games, it uses a misleading image to bring in players that has nothing to do with the game or plot. I understand this is a common practice, but I think this game is good enough to not need that sort of thing. As an artist myself, I would like to suggest as the cover a picture of Jane (setting would be the beginning of the game) looking upon her new house while struggling to carry her books, that way, it would be accurate, and interesting! Other than the small detail, well done! (P.S. To whoever wrote the dialogue, I very much enjoyed the references to Simon Langton’s Pride and Prejudice or Pride and Prejudice in general, the fairly witty conversations, and of course the amount of lore.) Was quite please to find a game that she had to think strategically, keep count her moves, and a very nice bonus is the pleasant and proper way to say job well done. I honestly love the storyline and how you’re able to join clubs and request for lives! Honestly makes playing so much more enjoyable. ✓ Why the difficulty?I got into Homescape because of my SIL but quit because one had 10 chances to clear 50 situations. I enjoyed the format of the game so I googled “games similar to Homescape but easier”. The reviews that came up included Storyngton. I loved the regency setting so downloaded. At level 171 it’s time to bid adieu for the reasons listed by others and it also became ridiculously difficult to clear the board. I did spend some money on it but the discouragement at losing ad nauseum got to me. Au Revoir..Version: 56.0

✓ Really fun and beautifulI play a lot of match games like this and they all have strengths and weaknesses. This one will likely end up one of my favorites. In addition to having an interesting storyline, it’s beautiful to look at, and has great character designs that move really nicely. My favorite thing, however, has to be the sound design. ✓ Cute story and game....minus the bugs!I like the difference in storyline on this one from most of the other match 3 games out there, but there are problems. I can only play one or two levels before the game freezes on me or kicks me out. I also agree with the person who mentioned the increase in difficulty level so soon for something so little. At least make your players think they are making some sort of progress on the game. Otherwise, I think it is a likeable game. Keep up the good work.
