✓ Perfect Adaptation!Such a great adaptation of what could be quite a complex board game to understand. I have the boxed game, so know the rules, but this is awesome when you just want to play. Incidentally, the game opened fine and hasn’t crashed on my iPad Pro 2nd edition 10.5. I restart my iPad before playing for the first time, not sure if that helped..Version: 1.0
✓ Good game, but...1. Sometimes Togawa and Albion, after moving the hero, do not have the opportunity to set a trap. 2. Sometimes goals don't work. 3. The function of turning off tracking the actions of the enemy is very necessary. This makes it very difficult to think and plan your move when you are forced to watch the actions and adventure cards of opponents in full screen. ✓ AI ChangeScythe is one of my favorite games, and this is an amazing format. I love being able to forego the setup required with the board game, and I like to be able to play on my own schedule. The only thing I wish this game had was a stronger AI. I’m a decent Scythe player (but not the best), and I have beaten the hard AI every time I have played against it be about 30 coins. If there was a harder AI, that would make this app even better..Version: 1.8.70
✓ Excellent AdaptationI’ve played the Steam version as well and the iPhone version functions just as well. I can understand that on an iPhone it would be difficult to learn (small screen space) but for someone who already has some understanding, it was very easy to use this version. ✓ Great appPlays well versus the AI, with no lag or crashes. The user interface is well implemented and gives you easy access to the current score and eligible hexes one can move to. The undo can be a bit clunky at times (e.g. to undo a single move you have to finish the entire action). Also, not sure how to tell at a glance which resources in the bottom row can be reduced via the Upgrade action. These are minor complaints, I still think the game is well worth it..Version: 1.8.70

It appears there had been a fix for this in a previous patch, but that may have only been for the Steam version. ✓ Great gameI’ve thoroughly enjoyed this digital mobile version of the Scythe board game. I play it on my iPad Pro, and it works very well. However, there are a couple of glaring feature omissions. As far as I can tell, there is no way to: 1. See the name of the player mat you or your opponents have after the opening reveal. (I don’t have all the mats memorized) 2. Which enlists and enlist bonuses you or your opponents have taken. #2 is especially frustrating. This information is available in the physical game and should be available in the digital. Switching gears, the expansion for IFA finally came out for mobile yesterday, yet on iOS and iPadOS there is no way to purchase it. When you try to in app, you get the message “product not found”. I have been waiting so long for IFA and now that it is here, it’s like this carrot dangled in front of me and then yanked back! Please fix this, Asmodee!.Version: 1.9.38

✓ Increased Difficulty Setting and ExpansionsI love the game, but the more I play it, the easier I find the AI to beat. This is on the highest difficulty setting already. I’m not incredibly good or anything. I just think the highest setting for the AI could use some improvement. Besides that the game is great! ✓ Great fun! However . . .The app works perfect for me on my iPad Pro, never crashed. It’s great fun and love that It does everything for me (it’s always hard to keep track of enlist bonuses from other players moves). Also love that I can speed the game up (especially when playing against 4 other bots). However I’m curious as to why the two other factions aren’t available? Is there DLC somewhere? For the cost I’d expect all factions including invaders from afar as well as the airships from wind gambit. Or at the very least the option to buy. :-\.Version: 1.9.08
✓ A great game, a good digital versionThe game is fantastic and the digital version handles a lot of the things that are especially confusing for new players when they begin, which is great. It's often difficult to tell what your opponent is doing during their turn and to know exactly what happened, however, and the randomizer… isn't especially random, tending to assign the same factions and mats in a row with only minor variations. Some way of fixing the former would be great, but the latter makes it difficult to fully explore the game without making random choices outside of the game proper..Version: 1.9.44
✓ Lazy graphic portPlaying on: • iPad 2020 Pro 12.9 • iPhone 11 Pro Max 4 ⭐️ because looks nothing like Steam PC version, and steam pc version is nothing to begin with, graphics-wise. Barely any shadows & detail on worker models, pulls away immersion of an actual piece on a board. Faction Models (shiny, bright white pieces) with some sculpted features. No shadows or details. No graphical effort. For an Asmodee developed game - I’m shocked. Their quality used to be higher. I own majority Asmodee titles. Scythe deserved better. To me... this comes across like a rushed job. Get the money from the board game designer and dump all production values & team efforts on Gloomhaven. Scythe could had definitely used a tad more visual polish to produce stronger immersion. ✓ Solid adaptation, very funGreat job with game, I’ve been enjoying it very much. Only played offline so far. Waiting for friends to DL so we can play online. Looking forward to future updates! Couple things I found while playing. 1. Player 1 name does not save, so have to enter it each time. 2. Undo issue. When performing undo after move, and my character landed on encounter card, game does not go back to move selection. 2b. ✓ BrilliantThe game is brilliant and I hope the developers will add The Wind Gambit and Rise of Fenris. My one qualm however is that there has been times where I have achieved my quest card objectives but not been rewarded. For example tonight I controlled three tunnels at the end of my turn yet this did not trigger that I had met the objective and therefore be awarded a star. Can this be fixed please?.Version: 1.9.81

✓ Great, but offline modes needs… to be online?I bought this app to use as I travel a lot, and hope to get on the plane. But the quote off-line” mode requires you to have a Internet connection so it is almost always unusable on a plane. This is why I rated it 4 stars. Game is good, mechanics are solid. ✓ One small change neededThis is a great app for a great game. The developers need to make it a little easier to look at your competitors player mats. It is a big deal when you ate playing the board game. ✓ Amazing - IFA??BUYER BEWARE Sadly I have to update my review. Looks like Knights of Unity are under new management, and don’t care whatsoever about their products anymore. It makes their website look like quite a joke - transparency and dependability?? The game simply won’t even load to the main menu, and appears this has been the case for MONTHS now. This is disgusting, even by EA standards. No support, no contact - I won’t be buying another game made by this gross company. love this game, and I think the LoU guys did a fine job with this implementation! I’d love for some more UX enhancements that make it a little easier to access game information, particularly modals or slide outs that can be toggled, or perhaps a small icon-based hud when an entity or icon is tapped. Most importantly, I’m hoping we can get Invaders from Afar for this platform - being able to practice Albion or Togawa on the go would be incredibly helpful for my game!!.Version: 2.1.0

✓ Good overallI have been playing this a fair bit. Overall I’d say 4 and a half stars. It isn’t perfect but I do absolutely recommend it! Please hurry up with Invaders from Afar DLC, it adds a lot and finding online games is harder since many Steam players have purchased it :) The AIs could be more challenging for experienced players and the encounter cards go past the edges of the screen on the iPad mini (fine on regular iPad) but that doesn’t affect gameplay..Version: 1.8.70
✓ Excellent digital version of one of my favorite gamesI love Scythe but can’t always get it to the table. This app helps “scratch the itch” for when I want to play but am not able to organize a tabletop game. The main benefit I find is the ability to try play strategies with different combinations of factions and player mats. It gives me the ability to experiment without wasting valuable tabletop time. The interface can get a little cramped feeling on a phone but it’s not anything game breaking. I would absolutely love to see the option to add the expansions! At the very least, the Invaders from Afar expansion for the additional two factions and player mats..Version: 1.9.08

The advantage of this digital version is I can now play in a shorter time, if I don’t have the free time to set up the actual boardgame. ✓ Released finished game EDIT: Nevermind I’m dumbYou can’t use “2 move” action on the same unit (character or worker). Turn 1 of game 1 and I can’t move my character 2 spaces to pick up encounter. If this very basic action is wrong who knows what else is wrong. Please refund money or fix game. Pretty sad for $8 game. Edit: I followed the digital in game rules link and under top row move it says to move 2 different (italicized) units. I thought that was a change in a newer edition or something because we’ve played Scythe for years without noticing you couldn’t use both move actions on same unit. I opened my physical rule book and there is was. Two different units. Now I’m questioning everything I thought I knew about everything as I may have just worm holed into a parallel universe where the only difference is you can’t move the same character twice in scythe..Version: 1.8.69

I will print out game instructions to reference but it would be great if the developers could add a tutorial to play thru. ✓ Great game, but the online play needs some work.The game itself is awesome, I love it. The issue is with playing other people. Occasionally the game will just freeze randomly causing you to restart the app. Sometimes you can rejoin the game, but sometimes it doesn’t give you that option. Also, the moves can be finicky. I’ve had games where it glitched out and didn’t give me any options other than “end turn.” It can be pretty frustrating. I’m not sure how active the development team is, but I hope they’re working on fixing these issues. Still, as I said, Scythe is one of the best board games I’ve ever played and overall, this is a very good version of it.Version: 2.0.7

✓ Good to goPretty good for a portable version of Scythe. The board itself is well represented and the mechanics work well enough. I think the game struggles with replicating the ability to glance across and see the state of your opponents. I’ve lost games from being too zoned in on my own plans without realising how far ahead the AI is. But I do t think there is a way the devs could easily design around that handicap especially on a mobile device and it’s a decent trade for having the game so easily available..Version: 1.9.63
