✓ Stuck on level 1572A bug in puzzle 1572 is preventing me from progressing. There are not enough coins on the board to meet the required criteria. 🤷🏻♀️.Version: 4.1.0063
✓ A few changes would make the game great.I like the game, and I really like having the Apple Arcade package so I can play games without constantly having to funnel money into them. The only negative that I'm finding is that for whatever reason, I don't have that much skill for the river race, and that is the only opportunity really except for the occasional bonuses to collect power ups, which are needed. I could probably do better with a joystick, but I'm playing on my phone. It is frustrating to not only not be able to get power ups that way, but to have over 10,000 gems, none of which I'm allowed to use to get power ups or to force a river race so that I can try to get more. Also, I tried to work the river race using a stylus, because I don't think my thumbs have very much talent, and that didn't work either. I have to try one more time to see if it just didn't work for me. In short, I would love it if they could function in some kind of way that works better when you're on a phone. ✓ No longer funI’ve been playing for some time and I’ve found some room for improvement: I lost count of what level I was on - it was in the 1000s, but the next level I advanced to took me back to level 700-something, and from then on all levels are previously played levels in random order. I am no longer advancing. Why is the main character stuck in the same doorway for eternity? Was someone too lazy to move her around? Having her take two steps forward and back forever looks ridiculous. Others have also noticed that no matter how carefully you swipe, the gems have a tendency to match the other way. There’s nothing more frustrating than being one move away from winning and not being able to “purchase” extra moves. While a good challenge can be enjoyable, there are way too many levels that are impossible to beat and frustrate more than entertain. I’ve noticed in some levels that some targets can’t be eliminated - not with matches or gems, which adds to the impossibility to complete the level. Overall, it gets repetitive the longer you play - more so when it takes you back to previously played levels for no reason..Version: 4.0.1045
✓ Fun at first but now boringThe initial game when I downloaded it was interesting. Once the first three levels were complete and the main character was simply standing at the portal it became less interesting. At some point the games started repeating, so one was playing levels already played. Then came then came the addition of gems to the game play. When enough gems were collected the main character would simply describe what was happening to some other unseen character and there was no reward. BORING!! The levels where the characters are moving through the temple is worth playing but the ensuing gameplay is tedious..Version: 4.0.1067
✓ Fun but short and a bit glitchyA fun swap-style match 3 with a good variety of mechanics, but if you play this for the story you are going to be disappointed. The story basically ends after the jungle levels when you are presented with a door and no way of progressing. I guess this is a known issue, but it’s been known for a couple months with no solution provided, so that pretty much makes this a feature rather than a bug. ✓ Fun, addictive, but way too many bugsI was enjoying the game despite the many bugs I encountered with each sitting until I reached level 710 not to mention that there’s nothing further than the waterfall unlock. In level 710, there are no yellow and no green tiles and none of the special moves will destroy the yellow and green items in the baskets. To top it off, there is no skip feature button present like other levels I’ve encountered same issues with. Unfortunately, this game is now going to be a delete for me. ✓ Way too many bugsThis game is incredibly frustrating. Most time, “very hard” puzzle doesn’t mean that you need skill, but rather that you need incredible luck and/or use all your resources to clear the “puzzle.” On top of this, the game will constantly hang or bug out. You’ll waste resource, time, get lucky, etc and then have the puzzle just hang or have it not do something, like clear a genie bottle block or row of compasses, etc. You’ll also get many times where you have one goal left and one turn and are happy because you saved a scarab, but instead of the scarab hitting the goal, it will fly off and just take a random gem. ✓ Hate the forced hintsI would have liked this game if I could turn off the forced hints of the wiggle gems. You are there looking at what items to select and then they start to wiggle showing you which ones to select. That I hate and wish I could turn it off. Without being able to turn it off its a pointless game as it just constantly tells you where to move so there is no brian power needed at all and make it no longer a game. ✓ I use to love this game!I was so happy to find this game--no losing lives, no timers to wait for, no ads every level. Fun game, some challenging levels, and a great story. It was perfect. I played it all the time. Then I finished the last part. I am now endlessly stuck in the treasure room. Forever. The story was the special part of this game. You knew the characters and helped them along. Then it disappeared abruptly leaving just level after level with nothing new and no hint of what happened to the story. It's so disappointing. This was a 5+ star game and now it's just repetitive with no real incentive to keep playing. I just saw and updated to a "new mirror story" and was excited to start it. ✓ Great Game until you get stuckThis is a great game. Graphics are great. Puzzles are solid and the Story is great until you get stuck in the trophy room in front of this wall with an infinity symbol. And that's it. No end to the story, no nothing. I can still play puzzles but what happened? I've seen reviews from 3 months ago or before where the developers acknowledged the issue and said they were working on it. ✓ WAS an amazing gameThis game had it all…point scoring, moving from level to level with your player having an ‘adventure’ however if you keep playing and get past level 800 then the game stops working. The levels that you play keep changing but your player no longer goes to another stage in the ‘adventure’ and sadly Scopely don’t have any knowledge of how to change this which is disappointing. ✓ Just a disappointment.Loved finding a puzzle game like this that didn’t have in app purchases looming around every corner, but what I got in replacement for that was tons of bugs and glitches. I’ve tried on two different files to try and get past the treasure room since I’ve seen people saying they’re on level 600+, but even on both I’m still stuck at a locked door. ✓ Badly designed later levelsAs with all games, it starts nice and smooth. However, once you reach further down in levels, the designs are really as in really bad. Which is pity as the style and animations are really nice. If only the developers spent time to actually play the monstrous levels they create. Too few moves and an apocalyptic army of stuff you need to clear up. If you try to generate the multiple amulets and icons that are demanded, good luck doing so in insanely confined spaces of 2-3 gems wide. ✓ Needs More LevelsUpdate : I receive a notification reminding me about the tournament and continue playing. But I can’t! I’ve played all of the levels. You should be able to replay levels to compete in the tournament to collect more stores. Needs more levels and a way to go back and replay some levels. I have finished all of the levels available and cannot complete all of the ‘quests’. Wish there was a way to go back and replay some of the levels. Also, some of the new ‘obstacles’ introduced during game play do not have instructions on how to overcome them. It is fairly easily to figure out, but would be nice to have instructions the first time you encounter them like the obstacles closer to the beginning of the game. Game play is fun since you don’t have to pay to overcome more difficult levels nor worry about how many lives you have left. Hopefully more levels are added soon before I forget about and give up on this game. If I can’t continue to play it regularly by going back to previous levels, I’ll forget about it and/or delete it off my iPhone. ✓ I have some questionsI’m really confused about something. There was a good story line going and it was really disappointing to find out that after the 3 episodes in the lost jungle, there’s no more storyline or maps to go through. Will there be more episodes added? The story just abruptly ended without explaining what happened to Barry and what the whole deal with the shadow runner and the curse was and the whole backstory of what happened to Guy. It seems that at least once a week, and sometimes more, it freezes and I have to delete and reinstall the app, almost always losing “points”. ✓ Addictive game but SO SCREWED UPUPDATE: After taking the time to report all these problems with the game by email as Scopely instructed me to do, Scopely sent me a form letter response and then two days later closed my ticket without addressing any of them! So sad! As I said I’m hooked - I’m on Stage 4781 with over 220,000 stars. But this level of indifference and incompetence from Scopely is inexcusable. SCREW UPS: 1. River raft won’t reset once all 5 lives are lost. I have to wait til the next day for a reset. 2. Sometimes levels suddenly have “phantom” pieces that cannot be affected by anything and hinder or make level completion impossible. 3. Occasionally levels freeze requiring a reboot and loss of your progress and power-ups. 4. Silver Tier malfunctioned long ago, has no goals, and is completely useless. It has been reported numerous times. 5. Scopely tech support is Totally and hopelessly non-existent. They say to email them - they don’t even make a pretense of helping or don’t answer at all (as in my current attempt to reach them). ✓ Time killer but frustrating glitchesI downloaded this as a game I can play offline and kill a bit of time with but the amount of glitches is getting frustrating. The most recent one I can explain is that I have 3 moves left, only need one move to complete it and the game has glitched, not moved items through the portal and frozen. It then reset and moved me back 2 levels. My phone storage is nowhere near to being full, my battery has 71% and I’m on wifi which has a strong signal so this is definitely an app error. The app support as well - don’t get me started! It takes you to the customer support page, tells you to pick the game, takes you to a forum page. I click on “known issues” and it says to “submit a ticket” if your issue isn’t named but there is no clear direction to how you submit a ticket and nothing in the app takes you there either. If it wasn’t for it being available to play offline (I work in a place with blocked signal) I’d probably have deleted it by now..Version: 4.1.0042
✓ DisappointedThis game is normally very fun. I play on my iPhone with a few problems not enough to complain about. But my iPad is a completely different matter. Every other level it freezes and you have to log out and log back in again just play that level. Even when you have the 30 minute bonus booster then it freezes like every level, every single level. ✓ Changed game orientation?UPDATE: The latest update is pretty buggy. Almost every time I use an idol I end up with a bunch of overlapping gems sharing the same spots. The river raft mini-game is a nice way to gather more boosters, but the achievement counter never increments so I'm stuck at 0/50. But since the game is still in landscape it is pretty awkward to play as i have to hold my iPad by the edges and stretch to reach the arrow buttons. You made the UI square... why doesn't the game auto-rotate with my iPad? ----------- The latest update just changed the game UI from portrait to landscape. It is now letterboxed on the sides and the actual game elements got smaller. It isn't a very good use of screen space and actually makes it harder to play. I'm not sure why the developers chose to do this, but please switch it back—or at least make it a setting. I've had a lot of fun playing this game, but now I'm just annoyed by the new UI. In game, There’s a point in which I have to tap on the mirror. It will not let me do that. Doesn’t matter if it’s the Mac M1 version or the iPhone version. I have to skip whatever this is to keep playing the game. Their site says I should write up a ticket in support but there does not appear to be a way to do this. ✓ DisappointingWhen I signed up for Apple Arcade, this was the first game I downloaded because it reminded me of Jewel Quest - one of the first really good Match-3 games. I also came from playing Sir Match a Lot for the past 5 years. The best Match-3 game out there. Unfortunately the level design here is not as great. Few things to mention: 1. Difficulty There are levels where you get 100+ tasks and you have for example 16 moves. You know this game is not designed well when you finish all your moves and you still have half the board to clear. Replaying the failed level doesn’t make it easier. In fact, it can sometimes be even harder, depending on your first moves. 2. No way to buy extra moves. If you are down to needing one extra move, you’ll have to replay the level. 3. If you fail 3 times, you get an option to skip the level. However there is a cooldown from when you used it last time. If you close the game, you have to fail the level again 3 times. If you keep it open, cooldown can be over 30 min. 4. Can’t replay levels you already beat. 5. Bonus tools that you make or buy with gems - sometime they work and sometime they don’t. This can be very frustrating. 6. Game is designed for micro transactions. You are just being given more gems..Version: 4.0.1028
✓ Fun, But Needs WorkLet me start by saying, I think the game is fun and I’m enjoying the concept. However, I’ve got some feedback for the dev team. I’ve played many games similar in nature to this game, but this one is hard and it ramps up quickly. I’m not necessarily complaining about the difficulty, however, I’d love to see an “extra moves” option in addition to or to replace the “skip level” option when you don’t pass a level. The worst feeling is when you’ve gotten right there and just need one more move! I’m not a quitter so it pains me to hit skip. I’d also like to see smarter power-ups, specifically scarabs. Sometimes it picks tiles that wouldn’t change the outcome either way instead of eliminating a tile that actually needs to be eliminated. Like I said, overall good, but sometimes I feel like this game desperately wants to be a game with micro-transactions and it can’t be because it’s bound to the terms of Apple Arcade. ✓ Nothing New HereThis is a typical match 3 game. Nothing really new as far as mechanics. The story design seems unfinished. I am currently in the “Treasure Trove” where the progress bar is inaccurate. It appears any story remaining is going to be the main character taking two steps over and over again in the same spot. The loading screen shows four characters. We only meet three. Even the title screen has a character that isn’t featured in the game. As others have mentioned, there is sensitivity issues where combos don’t work. I slide a bomb to the right and it moves left. Honestly, this feels like an unfinished game, capitalizing on an old franchise, that was basically dumped on Apple Arcade. ✓ Good but needs some workCurrently on lvl 429, not had any major issues with the difficulty of the levels. My main problem is, sometimes the level bugs and won’t let you carry on. I’ve got tons of screen shots where multiple items are occupying the same space on a game board. I’ve also finished puzzle 1572 no fewer than 4 times, yet it continues to show there’s a coin left to retain, despite there being nothing but gems left on the game board. ✓ Good game but too many bugsI have been playing this for some time and completed the original adventure. It is a really good game. But there are more and more bugs that are now affecting my enjoyment of the game and I plan to unsubscribe when the next payment is due unless these are sorted or at least I hear back. I have completed,or tried to, feedback online for many months. But the problems are increasing. Just a few examples: Achievements got to the end of gold and got stuck so are no longer available to me. The red dot is still there but it is frozen; the “earn stars” function has stopped working and is stuck on needing 400 each time; the mirror stories function shows that a “story is coming soon “ yet I am in the middle of playing it; the gift from earning stars over 6 days gives me the diamonds but never the other rewards. ✓ Broken / GlitchedHi, the game is overall good. Nice “three kinds” gem game. Unfortunately, the level 641 is broken / glitched. Long story short, you need to match blue gems to empty baskets, but blue colour gems do not appear during level. I tried to use some power ups (cannon / arrows) but they do not work. ✓ Game Was Fun…This game was fun until I got stuck at a wall that has a bunch of artifacts on pedestals. The wall looks like it has an infinity sign with a bunch of jagged purple crystals. Also, I will be in the middle of a game and just about to finish the level and the game freezes this losing gems I spent on the level. I have been stuck here for three weeks and nothing happens. In addition, Level 710 fruit baskets don’t remove fruit with the pickax, rocket, cannon or arrow or any of the power ups created within game. The corresponding colors don’t appear so you never clear the fruit abs this are stuck on the level after having wasted gems to buy power-ups to try to free the fruit from the basket. ✓ Game cheating????Okay, so I’ve made it well over 700 levels, but I’ve noticed that the further along standing at the cursed waterfall, trying to complete levels, and watching the occasional chain reactions, that obvious and clearly stacked color combos that should have been producing colored skulls or other prized pieces, instead just broke up into far less desireable components. That I could accept, grudgingly of course, but the final straw was watching the final play on level 721, produce the final pieces to complete the level and then immediately forcing me to have to retry after it clearly had been completed. On the harder levels the difficulty is often less about your cleverness, and more about your opening “hand”. On the hardest levels you basically have to be making solid progress right from the beginning of your turns. Pass about 8 turns without getting any good potential bonus matches and you’re out of luck. 2. You can’t backtrack and replay a level to try and 3-star it! Why are you arbitrarily keeping people from trying to do better on a puzzle? You can’t even scroll back through the level to look at the path you’ve tread. You have a play button and literally nothing else interactive. 3. This one is baffling. You earn gems but can’t buy anything with them OTHER than a booster on each level. All of those one-use special moves you can collect—can’t buy ‘em. There’s no “store” where you can use all your gems. I’ve got thousands of gems and no interesting way to use them. All of these things are just quality of life details that make a game like this more fun, and fully-baked. ✓ Game does not workThis game is my favorite game to play when i’m just laying in bed, so much that i’ve finished all of the game play and am now just completing extra levels. Now the game has completely crashed and takes minutes to even load to the game screen if it doesn’t crash 2-3 times before that. When It miraculously connects it freezes for 2-3 minutes and then crashes having to start all over. Not sure what the issue is. ✓ Not GoodThis is a very mediocre match-3 game. The only reason I played more than a few puzzles is because it’s on Apple Arcade so there’s no micro transactions. The AI that decides how the power ups fire seems designed to thwart the player. Scarab beetles never do what you want and I try to avoid making them because they seem to have a 50% chance of deciding to remove one of the gems you were saving rather than an obstacle. ✓ Not sure why my previous review went missingThe recent update to force landscape mode has made this an unplayable mess. There’s no accessibility in this for those who are able bodied let alone those of us who struggle with our eyesight. The new update forces a play area a quarter of the size of the screen with the remaining area taken up by pretty yet static borders. This was my go to game for months, now it’s my leave alone until it gets fixed game. ✓ Portrait mode still brokenThe december 2022 update broke the orientation on iPad. 3 and an half months later, and 3 or 4 updates later, still not solved. This game is unplayable on an iPad Mini. ✓ Decent game hobbled by no in-app purchasesHere is another classic example of a game that was clearly designed for in-app purchases which makes it very tedious to play at higher levels. Many of the levels (even ones not labeled as 'hard' or 'super hard') are WAY too difficult without powerups. You start out with a decent enough amount of stars, but they quickly disappear. You do get a paltry 10 stars just for trying a level, but most powerups are 300 stars to buy. Even skipping a level (a decent enough feature) costs 50 stars *after* you've attemped it several times and the cooldown has elapsed. ✓ Very Buggy, Decent StoryFun game, and I really want to finally hear the end of Guy’s story and figure out who the Shadow runner is! Unfortunately, I seem to be stuck in a room with all the collectibles from the game and a door with an eight or infinity symbol on it, locked by crystals. There seems to be no way out; No star counter on the door. I won probably 200 stars or more, but the only thing it lets me do is compete in the star leaderboards or whatever. And it says everything on the map is complete. I went to the developer website and started a chat, but no response at all in 24hrs. There have also been buggy levels that would completely crash, especially if I had a timer running on my phone and the notification banner popped up to say times up, and I’ve had Scarabs not hit anything relevant to finishing the level. ✓ Solid, but Needs Content and Bug FixesEDIT: Looks like level 641 is unwinnable. There are blue fruits in the baskets, but those fruits can’t be destroyed by anything (at least not that I’ve found). EDIT 2: Same issue with level 710. Very solid match-3 gameplay. The mechanical aspects of the game are nicely polished and fluid. However, the game runs out of content quickly, leaving your character stuck at a “Cursed Waterfall” (which isn’t a waterfall…but I digress). You’re still able to play new puzzles, earning more gems. Which brings up another issue: gems are mostly useless. You can buy additional power-ups with them for 300 gems, but having almost 50k of them makes it pretty silly. Finally, there’s a really bad bug—often, when getting a large, often level-beating, cascade, the game hard locks. No choice but to close and re-open. All in all, nicely constructed and mechanically sound. Just needs more time put in to shore up some weak spots..Version: 4.0.0010
✓ Fail and retry, until you get luckyThis game feels a bit imbalanced as around level 100 the puzzles become virtually impossible to solve unless you get lucky by having two super matches next to one another. It’s a shame because the game’s certainly had some love put into it, but it feels like a waste of time waiting for luck to land in your favour. Some large matches feel underwhelming too, often resulting in mundane bombs or bugs, which are not that useful. If you want a reference to a game that does this well, check out zoo keeper. I am at the Sunken Temple opened a chest and then suddenly appeared at a cursed door surrounded by all the artefacts I have been collecting on pedestals.
