✓ Super duper five star awesomeFabulous game this one. I've been playing mahjong for 15 years now, this particular incarnation would have to be my favourite. Being able to have a quick game whenever the whim strikes is fab! The controls are smooth and intuitive, the graphics are excellent, there really isn't much wrong with this version. If you've played the free version to death (like I had!), then you NEED the full version. Undo is a godsend for tricky layouts and the new layouts are head trippers :-) I'd like a "high scores list", but it's a minor thing. Smashing job!.Version: 0

This game has achieved a very difficult feat: to fit mahjong onto a small screen in a way that makes it a pleasure to play. Most mahjong games on small screens are fiddly and irritating, but this game makes the best possible use of the touch screen. There are so many ways to manipulate the screen and so many customisable settings, not forgetting the awesome graphics. This mahjong is streets ahead of all others. ✓ Brilliant but keeps crashingAbsolutely amazing game, I spend hours playing it but it is so annoying when you get past level 50 and then it crashes, I have had to reinstall this game about 15 times as the screen just goes black and won't do a thing. It is so addictive and love it just wish they could fix the problem so that I didn't have to restart all over again!! Haven't got past level 58 yet when competing and really want to!! ✓ Great Frustrating GameI've been playing mahjong since the first iPad. Until this last update I never managed to get above 50 and I didn't stay there. Now with only going back one level I managed to hit 80. I've noticed I seem to get a stream of easy games then get brought back down to earth with a string of hard ones. ✓ Great interfaceThe still photos do no do this game justice, the interface is as natural as 2 finger scrolling on you laptop trackpad. This allows you to look at the pieces from all angles. You wont notice the lack of music and lack of wallpaper when playing. To be honest the lite version is good enough for most people, but i think the full version is a more updated codebase. The full version lets you rotate the iPhone any aspect, the free version only seems to have up/down. The full version tells you when there are no possible available moves, the lite version did not. There is always room for improvement, but a fine title none the less..Version: 0

The only issue I have is that on the iPhone 10 the board used to rotate so you could see a wider screen but since the last update, the screen no longer rotates automatically to the wide screen. It takes too long to match tiles just because they are so tiny that you are constantly trying multiple times to select the right tile. ✓ This app has ruined all other Mahjong games for meI love, love, love this app! I’ve been playing it for years and I love the scramble mode, (something I have yet to see in any other app). What minor issues I’ve had have been resolved with each update. I’ve tried other Mahjong apps just to switch things up, but always end up deleting them and coming back to this one. And it’s free with no ads! One feature I would like to see in the future is some way to mark specific layouts as favorites so they come up more often in scramble mode. The user interface is fantastic with 3D tiles that can be manipulated in all directions so that free tiles can easily be viewed. There are so many different game play options so it is impossible to get bored. The options are customisable to make games easier or harder depending on what you want. You can play against 'Tilebot' and race to complete games first or you can play just for relaxation. I took off one star as there is limited tile art to choose from, however you can upload your own backgrounds. ✓ Fun game but...First this complaint: tell me the nickname is taken BEFORE I write the review. It disappears, and you have to start all over again. The game is terrific. Very enjoyable. However, I agree with those who have complained about the speed of the tile bot in the updated version. Some of the layouts that I could almost always win before are virtually impossible to get now. I enjoy a challenge, but not an unreasonable one. The more layouts that seem to be impossible to beat, the less likely that people will play the game. Update: still playing this game, but not as much as before the latest update. The speed of the tile bot is still unreasonably fast. Sometimes the tilebot's tiles seem to disappear in an instant, even if you're close to winning. Very frustrating..Version: 3.2.2

✓ Hooked.I began to feel guilty playing hundreds of games on Moonlight Mahjong lite for free, so finally bought it. I'd have paid that money for the lite one it was so good. Not just a "see 'em, pick 'em" game, there is some real strategy to some of these hands. And, the clever towers sure add a dimension or three also. ✓ Interesting But Deeply FlawedThe puzzle difficulty is so random that the levels achieved are meaningless--I've routinely had puzzles at level 15 that were far harder than ones at level 30. The only thing that changes is the speed of the tilebot, which becomes ridiculous. And the basic 3-D rotation mechanic used to uncover hidden tiles is clunky and frustrating, especially at higher levels. Very irritating..Version: 3.2.2

✓ ExcellentI think this is a great version of mahjong solitaire for the iPad. I have wasted money on other versions but this one works, the ability to angle the tower is really easy and helpful. The games are good and the choice of tiles varied and clear. I'd like a bamboo tile but this is just a familiarity preference. I'd also like a more easily activated option of starting a new game rather than redoing an unsuccessfully completed game. But overall I have found this version to be terrific. Thanks apps man! Now that I’ve gotten up to the higher levels I find that the little guy I’m challenging goes really fast at times. We can be running about even and then the next second he’s done. Plus when I tap on my squares at times it won’t register so here I think I got it and then I look back and the two tiles have not left. This was the only game I was playing, I was hooked but now I find I have extra time to play my other Mahjong games because I am no longer hooked on either on these games. Have written to developer, but problem is with Apple, not dev. I notice the game movement freezes momentarily when spinning tiles and there is lag between tapping a tile and its removal. It seems especially bad following a tilebot tile reshuffle. Had not played for a while as the version of being taken back three if robot beat me was driving me crazy. I do think that if program registers you being active and regularly trying, doing well in fact, especially after Level 30, that it does not automatically make them harder and harder, give the players a bit of a break, that feeling of finally getting over a milestone eg giving puzzles with over 300 even up to 400 tiles, but that gives puzzles so can finally reach level 40 and over...Version: 3.2.2

PREVIOUS REVIEW: Undoubtedly one of the best versions in this genre - smooth with lots of variety for a relaxed game but its the addictive Tilebot challenge that I keep coming back for AND this is also what I find frustratingly flawed. Easy and difficult layouts appear randomly at stages both below and above level 30... some are super easy and others you need to continuously rotate to find matching tiles. Tilebot can pick off pairs without "looking" at an unerring pace (that increases with each level) so the challenge is very uneven. It took me a while to learn the shapes on the tiles, and more to keep pace with the computer game, but even now (after hundreds of plays) I can’t beat it every time. I particularly struggle with 3D boards. So despite being a simple game concept it has some staying power. I seem to waver from the 50s down to the high 30s and back again in terms of levels - but the boards don’t get harder, the level just reflects more wins than losses. Added: The longer I play this updated version, the more I realize how much Tilebot's speed has increased, so much so that it is more frustrating than "a challenge". ✓ This game cheats !!!When you get good enough to beat the game it gets better quickly and that’s fine, but if you continue to beat it, it will start to hide matches and even not show until it’s too late to beat it. It will even increase the speed of its removal of it’s own matches. I’ve found cheating in many on-line games so that they can sell more to the players. I find that sad, pathetic and greedy. The choice of mahjong layouts is very impressive and it's easy to manipulate the tiles to get a great view but best of all is the multiplayer where you can go head to head with someone else over local wifi and it hardly ever drops connection but even if it does as long ad one of you still has the puzzle ( which u always will) the other one can just rejoin the game on "friends" iPod.
