✓ My Favorite ApplicationI have over 500 apps and this is my favourite by far. Can't imagine any reason for giving this less that 5 stars. Along with the nearly identical Moon Globe app from the same developer it's gives you an uncanny feeling of actually being there, not just of viewing the surface but actually visiting these two bodies in space. The adjustable lighting reveals that Mars is not only 3D in the sense of being a globe but also in the sense of having actual 3D mountains and canyons and craters ect embossed into its surface. It contains a stupefying amount of information about our red brother - more than even an astronaut going there would need - and the swipe gestures for zooming and panning and orbiting are so smoothly and intuitively interpreted that you feel like you're controlling it with your mind rather than your screen. Can't imagine any room for improvement aside from adding the ability to zoom in even further. Truly astounding app - thank you for this and for the Moon as well - please tell me that a similar Earth app is on the way..Version: 0

It's an amazing visualization of the Mars globe using satellite imagery and rendering of the terrain, colorization and features that increase the feeling of realism such as the atmospheric haze. It's smooth and fast (although a big download) to spin and zoom the globe, and it's just full of so much data that's been really well laid out. Not only is the data interesting, it's beautifully done too - I could sit and explore Mars for hours and still go back for more! Well worth the price and more! (Thanks Midnight Martian! The entire planet is mapped and annoted so you can easily find any named feature or turn off the labels and imagine youself cruising over the surface. There is one minor nit I have with this app. I wish it would function more like your moon Globe does where it has the capability of turning off all of the controls and labels. ✓ A planet in your pocketThis App works really well. Being able to browse the whole of Mars under any lighting conditions is a blast. The guided tour is well thought out and the word cloud labels are just right. The resolution is not mind-blowing (though the paid version is higher), but the total experience is really excellent. Having a a slick interactive planet in your pocket is really fun. Hope the author has a go at Pluto now that some quality photos are being received from New Horizons..Version: 2.3

But needs work.Ever since I was a kid, I’ve absolutely loved Mars and now I love it even more so this app lets me explore The Red Planet and discover the names of all the landmarks. bBut it needs something that makes the app even more immersive, like adding the Planets of the Solar System and the Sun in the background aswell as Mars’s 2 moons. Also, adding something that allows you to see the location of the different Rovers and maybe Mars could have a thing where the planet rotates and has day and night and we are able to slow it down to look at Mars closer up.
