✓ Much better nowI played this game a lot a few years ago. But I stopped because it made a few errors. Very poor at beating off, for example. But I have just come back to it and it seems much better now. A lot of the backgammon apps are crappy. This one is good.Version: 4.5.7
✓ Game is unfairI have found your game to be a bit unfair although still enjoyable. Every time I leave a token uncovered the computer always, and I mean ALWAYS rolls what it needs to bounce my token. Then, even if it only has two spaces blocked, it takes me 3 to 4 rolls to get my token back in play. When it is the computer bounced, even if there is only one space unblocked, it always rolls the number which is unblocked on the first roll. The computer rolls doubles on an at least 4 to 1 ratio to me. Something is fishy in San Francisco..... I just played a game where there was no way I could lose it...that was until the computer rolled 5 double 6 in a row! Smells fishy in Denmark too.....Version: 4.5.6
✓ Backgammon, game of strategyI love this version of backgammon even though it’s direction is counterintuitive. Please stop the intrusion of ads , it will make it even better. I enjoy playing it. This is another Backgammon player - why is the direction counterintuitive? I do not get it, but most importantly my winning each game is much more important. Sometimes the dice roll does seem to favour the computer, especially when I leave a singleton on a spike, but having monitored this over several games, I’ve concluded that’s just perception. And the computer dice rolls are WAY more fair than the other backgammon apps I tried. There are some issues with dice rolling: the computer wins the opening took roughly 90% of the time. The computer gets a VERY high percentage of “convenient” rolls when the user leaves an open token. And the computer magically gets more doubles when rolling out. ✓ Acey-DuceyI Love the game. I played Acey-Ducey the board game since I was a kid. I was excited that they have an app for it. Just a couple things. I paid for the game and I still get Advertisements I hope they will correct that. The roll of the dice really doesn’t seem to be a random roll, I can almost guess what the next roll is gonna be and the move it will make. I would prefer it to be a random roll and use strategy to determine the difficulty level. I’ve had this game for quite some time. In my opinion this app is the best one out there. ✓ Backgammon critiqueHi, I would give 5 stars BUT I feel that when you’re on the board, there’s no need to keep rolling when your opponent has all 6 points covered. Also, when you can’t possibly win while bearing off, there should be an option to quit, or concede rather than going to the last roll. Also be aware that if you say or think the computer cheats with some rolls of the dice, you are right-BUT this forces you to be more creative in how to set up blocks and be strategic as to avoid problems as they arrise. Biggest point is know when to double, but just as importantly-when to resign, then play again. Only thing this doesn’t do is beginning rolls, never rolls doubles to double the cube automatically. Just accept the doubling dice and see it throw itself a high double. Offer it the doubling dice and see your throws turn into twos and ones. The roll of the dice is not characteristic of the real life roll. Consider the odds of a 1 to 6 roll this becomes difficult to justify when rolling the game dice and comparing to real dice. ✓ Long time backgammonerI’ve been playing backgammon for almost 40 years. This game is fun...sometimes. The easy setting is just that; it’s simple to win with a gammon or backgammon. The medium setting is much more difficult; the dice the computer rolls will always bump your man off if possible, and sometimes the computer rolls 3-4 doubles in a row, making it practically impossible to win the game (one time the computer rolled 6 doubles during a game to my 1). The difficult setting is practically impossible to win for reasons already stated; it’s no fun playing a game knowing you can’t win. BUT can you please fix the problem in the Acey Deucey game where the computer does not play its last pieces that have yet to be put on the board until ALL of its other pieces in play are moved to be in its home section. This means the computer is losing games where it has a chance of winning but it is not playing well. This is annoying and frustrating as the computer is meant to be smart, right? ✓ Mostly very goodI only play on hard and for the most part the game is very good BUT it is poor about moving men in to roll off. For example, game has 1 man left out 2 points away and rolls a 5-3. It would move 1 man already in the 5 and then the man out the 3 and not take anyone off. The correct move is 100% move the one 2 out 3 pips and then take a 5 off. The game also doesn't really seem to understand the value/power of a 6 point block. They may be trapped behind 1, but if they are up in the pip count at the time, not only will they take a double, but they will double you right back! I just finished a game when my six point board was the inner court so the computer literally had no moves until I started taking off, but still took a double as we were only 2 pips apart..Version: 4.5.9
✓ To shelfI’ll start off with the only two negatives I have found is that firstly there are a lot of adds which is a little off putting and secondly there is a glitch after adds have been shown where you return to the game the counters are smaller the they were, after a few adds you can see the counters…this only happens occasionally though. I don’t know why the difference but it is a completely different experience and very enjoyable. The ads in this app are pernicious. The ad finishes playing and I am not interested. There is no X. The only symbol is >> which takes you to the App Store. Even if you go to the App Store you cannot get rid of the ad when you return to the game unless you close the application and restart it. No matter what you press on the screen you end up at the App Store. Again you cannot close the page and return without restarting the app. I loved this game before being inundated with all the ads! I tried to get my kids to learn the game, but they are not interested. I downloaded this app to use during a long flight. Now I am hooked. The game enforces this but has failed to do so for itself. I love this app for its speed and ease of use, however after reading disgruntled reviews about the not so random dice, I am finally and reluctantly beginning to agree. I can literally predict the AI’s dice rolls based on what I offer. On acey deucy I always win the roll but once in a hundred on nack gammon. Such a shame. It’s great it has 4 game options. Other issues; unable to log in as a user, the game fails to start properly, freezes, and all of this requires a phone restart or app refresh. Refreshing is usually successful. ✓ Great game!Enjoy this backgammon app and ads have decreased of late which is good as they were becoming too regular and intrusive at one point. Strange decisions made by the computer from time time which enables me to beat it consistently 2:1 If I accept a 'dodgy-double' the computer seems to throw an immediate dice double to confirm my fate 😂.Version: 4.6.5
