✓ So gooooo! (sort of)UPDATE: nothing has changed. There still needs to be some sort of reward system because I end up getting bored and quit playing. And level “easy” is more difficult than the spiteful level. Makes no sense. so gooo! However, I can't tell the difference in the levels - Hard is no more difficult than Easy and Medium is WAY HARDER than Spiteful (in my experience). I have played Easy games more challenging than Spiteful. So it really doesn't matter which level you play because you never know what you're going to get difficulty wise. But I do enjoy playing despite the levels being out of wack. So if you're reading this, don't buy Spiteful, it's just more of the same. Oh yeah, YOU MUST add a rewards system instead of just gaining levels. If there's no incentive for level gain, then who gives a crap. I'd recommend earning new card/board designs or whatever...just something to tap into the brain's reward center. Without that, people will eventually lose interest..Version: 2.13.5

✓ Not fond of updateI wrote a review of the previous version saying how much I loved this app and played it every chance I got. The update is not nearly so fun. The landscape layout seems much more cluttered. As another comment said of the previous version, I could play it with one hand if necessary. I too had the crashing problem until I rebooted my iPhone. ✓ Just for spite!This game is a ton of fun with family and friends requesting you to play and even single player. You will have fun trying to outwit and corrupt your opponents chances by blocking them from discarding the master pile with a wild king card or by making sure you don’t discard the card they will need to be able to play from that pile to clear to the finish. There in lies the justification for the games names. Just be careful to not go too fast when playing from the master discard pile. Sometimes I get too into clearing the discard pile and miss what should have been played first! It’s a fun game that will keep you busy waiting for your food or dr.’s office. If you’re a decent player you will win the majority of your games against the computer. I win 75% of the games on Hard. Just wish the developers would bring back the online turn-by-turn version. Loved playing that with my friends. The current online version requires you to play from start to finish without leaving the game to answer a phone call, email or text message. Otherwise, you’ll lose the game connection and the match. That’s a bit much to ask of online players..Version: 3.1.7

✓ Great card gameAs a former tournament card player, I can always appreciate a good digital card game. The game looks good and it operates well. I believe it's challenging enough to satisfy me, without being frustrating for others. The differences between the difficulty levels are so small that I don't believe it matters which one you play. I don't usually care about challenges and trophies, but I do find myself trying to meet them. Overall, I think it's one of the best games of Spite and Malice out there..Version: 2.13.3

✓ FrustratingI have played this game for a number of years. I love the challenge offered on all levels and have not noticed the difficulties noted listed in other recent reviews. Being very competitive, I have always been within the top 6 or 7th place in the “spiteful” level. I normally play on my iPad, but within the last three weeks I have been unable to build on my score or play online or turn based games due to some type of glitch in the game. I am hoping the problem can be fixed soon because other players are closing in on me. There is no random generators and the outcome is usually stacked in favor of one player. If you like to win 30% of the time the game will assure that you do that. ✓ Spite and maliceMy sister and I are in separate states and we enjoy playing this game together, but there are so many freeze-ups that it is hard to enjoy. The problem with that is each of us don't know if the other person has played, or if it is frozen. Very frustrating. I wrote the above review, and there have been "fixes" since then, and still...the game doesn't work properly. I LOVE this game and it gives my sister and I something to do together, BUT, we can deal with an occasional freeze-up, the real frustration is having to get out of the app, wait for a minute, then get back into the app to see if the other one has played yet. ✓ Needs some work - not good strategy by computerEditing previous review. After playing a bit, I find the app programming deficient. Computer not spiteful enough and plays its cards in the wrong order. First, it should play off its pile first instead of later. It cuts itself out of plays, so it’s easier for me to beat. Second, it often just gives me my next play. If I have a 9, say, on my pile, and can’t get the 7 and 8 needed to play it, the computer will helpfully play that for me. I win in cases I should not. I used to play this some 50-60 years ago, with much glee. Have been searching for card games of old to play now with spouse. This came to mind, but I couldn’t recall how to play. Looking up rules on the internet, written instructions just didn’t do it. Found this app. Comments about ads on the free version made me just go ahead and get the ad-free one. Glad I did. This app lets me play the game and re-learn strategy and game play. I love this game, and the app lets me play alone, until I can drag my spouse into it. Now that she has passed away we all play games of spite and malice every year at our family reunion and teach the next generation. Now with this awesome app version I'm getting the family together year-round for our traditional family game. Only flaw I see is there isn't an option to play by the rules grandma taught us which are harder. Kings can't be used on top of each other and can't be used as an ace or queen. The challenges are no longer challenging since the game says CONGRATULATIONS and gives you points even though you have not met the challenge requirements. When you need to play X number of cards from _________, it counts yours and the computers. While the challenges are not necessary to play, they did add some interest with goals. There is also no longer any way to get additional challenges because it no longer has ads available. Still a fun, simple game to pass the time. In 2002, I sustained a brain injury, requiring neurosurgery. I was in a coma for three weeks, stayed in the hospital for two months, and then went on to a rehabilitation center for a further three months. During my stay there before returning home, I astonished the nurses and occupational therapists when I prompty taught them how to play 'This cracking game'! I couldn't find my way to my room, thought my mother was 'A kind lady' who would come to visit me (Which she was - and is 👼 - but it was some time before I recognised her as my actual mother). ✓ SidalceaI love this game. It is simple and nicely done like others by this group. I will give it 5 stars when you make the hard level actually hard. As it is the computer does dumb things to let you win even on hard mode. I don't want the cards changed. I just don't want the computer to drop a wild card king on an ace when it should know I have a Jack sitting there in my discard table so it is clear that i will immediately be able to get rid of my final card which is a queen and the computer player can see that queen and still leaves me a play when it should not. ✓ Great, but there is a GotchaI really enjoy playing this game. I had the free version, but like many reviewers stated, it would let you play a friend even though there is a tab for it. So…ponied up for the very reasonable paid version at $2.99 because it looks like that feature is available. And…even though I have not yet used it, it looks like indeed it does. The “gotcha?”……if you want to play the most difficult level (free with the free version) it will cost you an additional $9.99. Come in guys, can we be a little more transparent?????.Version: 3.1.6
