Adidas Running: Walk & Run App for Negative User Reviews

I’m done !I brought Runtastic pro app many years ago cause it was great. Then, Premium was created and I’ve lost access for several features I’ve paid for ! Only answer from Runtastic : now you have to pay to subscribe Premium... Today, I get a notification about the end of Runtastic pro and that I have to download the Adidas running app to get my Runtastic pro features back and “much more”... Well, guess what ? To have pro features back (and more), I have to subscribe for Premium !!! That’ll not gonna happen. I’m done.Version: 11.13

Beware of losing your history!Great app with added features but lost history for this year when it transferred from the Runtastic version. Transfers data up to end of 2020 but now won’t be able to compare annual history from the past 7 years. Very disappointing as a paid premium subscriber. 🥲.Version: 11.28

Was good but not so much nowI’ve used this app for several years. It was tracking my distance by gps on my phone accurately until the last 6 months. Now it tracks my pace at 80 seconds faster than it should. I tried the fixes suggested with no luck. It was tracking on my Apple Watch accurately so I stopped using the app on the phone while running and was using the app only on the Apple watch. But now the app isn’t tracking accurately on my watch. It tracks my pace at 60 seconds slower than it should . Before anyone purchases a promembership, I’d suggest they test the free version to make sure gps tracks distance accurately on the phone/watch. For me it did accurately for years, but not lately..Version: 10.0

Disappointing UIThe app is unnecessarily cumbersome. The integration of accessing iTunes from within the app is nice, but I don’t need immediate access to my camera or some of the other features. The fact that it took two full runs before I started to see it record any data was a bummer, and 4 runs before I was able to find a way to get it to record from my Apple Watch when I didn’t have my phone with me. I generally don’t do shorter runs (under 7 miles or less than an hour) with my phone. I had to do a deep search just to find where the setting was located, and it was not accessible while the app was active/recording activity. I have 4 runs that were either not tracked, or only partially tracked. Nike Run Club (NRC), or the Apple activity app are far more user friendly and just worked without any fiddling. I tried the app because of a Creators Club contest that Adidas was running, giving away a pair of Adizero Adios Pros, but it didn’t even record my runs to be able to qualify..Version: 11.12

Not easy to cancelI didn’t like the app so tried to delete my account and followed the convoluted instructions. Clicking on the Delete My Data link in the ‘Do you really want to delete’ email did absolutely nothing apart from open the app. With no way to contact the developers, only a Help section on the app, it took a while to figure out you have to click on this link from a PC where it will load the Runtastic website; you then have to log in to the website for your account to be deleted!! So there’s no way to cancel an account from your mobile device and unclear, convoluted instructions..Version: 8.4

Where did it all go wrongI have been using this app for almost 7 years. However since my last renewal it’s become useless. The GPS is totally random. The start and end points are the only elements that are correct is I ran the way the GPS tracks me I’d stop running completely. At times it has me crossing 4 lane dual carriageways, on the other side of 8 foot fences, across train tracks, in the middle of forests, and apparently my latest is to run in water! I can understand that the GPS will not be totally accurate however every run has me on multiple occasions 50 to 100m away from where I actually ran. As a result this has resulted in my times being somewhere close to what a certain Mr Bolt could run. The only part of this app I now trust is the total duration. Nothing else! I spent time and effort trying to better my run times, my km split times etc now these records are gone as this app thinks I’m Mr Bolt. If you want a good total run timer this could be the app for you. But if you want any split times, or accurate distances, I’d stay clear however knowing this app and it’s awful GPS you could be 100m staying clear and the app would have you right in the middle. Time for a refund people! The one star if for its timing. I’ve posted this on the developers site as detailed but haven’t received any reply. The review was based on the lack of response from the developer!!!.Version: 12.8

DisappointedUsed it quite some time. I even became a premium member which was the first major disappointment. The choice of plans is extremely limited, especially if you’re looking for age ranges 40+. Once chosen a plan I realized they are just time controlled and an overlay to the regular recording feature, which means the voice announcements overlay each other or delayed each other. I once got a 3,4 and 5 km announcement right in row with some awkward silence before that. Stopping your exercise is a real mess also especially on the Apple Watch. Speaking of the watch - last two times the app stopped recording distance (not time!) and needed a tap to go on (6 series). Resume: time for another running app!.Version: 11.12

Is this a beta test?RESPONSE TO DEVELOPER: Yes I contacted support. It says it in my review. Stop copying and pasting generic responses. I can’t believe you can’t set this app to stop the timer when you’ve hit your distance goal. You can set a 5k but it will keep going after you’ve hit that distance, resulting in extra seconds as you fumble to make it stop. This would even be fine if it kept timing but still captured the time you hit 5k. What is the point of even setting a goal? Next, if you do not share your photo immediately, you can’t share it later. Even though your photo is in there, you can only use their default photos. Tech support finally admitted it wasnt possible after I sent them a screencast of me following the process they gave me and not being able to use my photo. The developer wrote me in German for some reason just directing me back to the support article that does not work. This is not a user issue. These 2 things do not work. I sentence screencast showing me following the directions to a T. I can’t believe you actually charge people for this. This seems like a beta test. Did you even consult one runner when developing this? Nike Run Club is much better and free..Version: 10.12.1.

Good app but needs a couple of fixesLove the running coach and feedback. Great idea. Find it motivational. Would be nice if you could get an update on average pace over the whole run. Tying to do the maths in my head from total time and distance while running is hard for me. Have followed process to sync data to Apple health but Apple health says “No data “. certainly there is data in the adidas app though. Needs a look at. All in all good app. With a couple of fixes it would replace my normal running app..Version: 10.13

Creator club pointsThe app itself is great and it tracks my statistics really well, but it’s not logging the creator club points I earned properly. I even logged out and logged back into the app. For example I did 2 workouts today and ran a mile, but it only counted one of the workouts I did to give me points for. I also joined a challenge and I didn’t receive my 50 points! I’m really working hard to unlock higher levels of the creator club so it would be really great if I could acquire the points I earned! And one more problem, this just happened - there is a big black box on one of my route photos. This is the first time is happened and I don’t know why. Please please fix all of these bugs, and I’ll be happy to give a 5 start review because like I said, the app itself is great!.Version: 11.6

Not goodIt keeps failing during my exercises unless I keep opening it every 5 minutes. I’m trying to train and it’s no use when it stops unexpectedly and then guesses how much time and distance has passed. Might uninstall..Version: 11.0

Needs workI got this app because I read that it tracks your activity and recommends shoes, so I wanted to use it to find an appropriate pair of shoes as well as get back into fitness. The main problem I have though is when I’d like to have it track my every day walking activities as well as exercise so it’s more accurate. But it doesn’t detect travel. Even the Pokémon app detects travel. So if you don’t remember to turn it on and off every time then it screws up your whole days recordings. It also keeps yapping at you while you drive, which overrides the radio when my phone is connected to CarPlay, so I have to keep turning the radio back on. The app has potential, but I won’t be using it until it’s caught up with the times..Version: 12.22

Runtastic PremiumA real SCAM....!!! Never use any of the runtastic apps. I bought the Premium version of this app. and did not like it and did not use it. They are now charging me for another year as they say it’s an automatic renewal and it was written in the agreement. I am now receiving threath of legal action...hahaha. They will not get a penny from me that’s for sure. I will also advise Apple of Runtastic’s illegal practice and have them remove all Runtastic apps from the Apple Store.

GPS Maps still Public when set to only me.GPS Maps still Public when set to only me in privacy settings. Anyone with the link can access map data after I share my run. Also no place to submit feedback on the site/app. No contact email addresses or phone number from the company. They seem to be quite hidden in terms of internal people operations, but want to expose all of our own personal data. Tread carefully! I liked this app because it makes small map thumbnails to share to FB, without giving the full map details, unless the user clicks on the link. Sigh. No way to hide GPS data from activities. Other than that, this app works really well for its intended purpose to track your exercise..Version: 8.1.1

Lost recordI used this app 7 years ago and after it updated so many times throughout these years, it started to charge and most importantly, I’m unable to see my records because of this. Absolutely bad experience for old user. Uninstalled already..Version: 11.22

Voice coach bugs need fixingThis is a good app to keep track of my runs. What is stopping it being great is the fact the voice coach occasionally cuts out when the run begins and if music is playing it is left at a really low volume. When this happens the voice coach stops providing feedback on your progress meaning you have to look at your phone or watch during your run. When you finish your run, the volume of the music is restored to normal - and if you have turned your volume up to maximum, this can be an unwelcome surprise for the user..Version: 10.12

Money hungry greedy app developers! This app used to be pretty good. You could run, track your progress, and then see the saved data. There were lots of added bonus features if you paid for them. Like a personalized couch, encouragement, a very detailed run and workout plan. It was worth it for people to buy the extra stuff. Now all they have is track your run, and an overview at the end. You can’t even see old runs unless you pay for them! That is ridiculously greedy. Almost every other free running app you can see previous runs! This is not good marketing or planning. I don’t even want to pay for the extra added on content like I used to because that is just wrong to not have a basic level of running and then what you did in the past. Runtastic you lost another customer!.Version: 9.0

Stuck on Terms and Conditions PageI try to log into the app and it is stuck on the terms and conditions page. I try to go online to submit a request to look at this, it takes me back to the sign up page. I’ve deleted the app, redownloaded, tried logging in online, no luck. Can someone see what this is as I’d like to go back to using the app but since the upgrade it won’t let me.Version: 9.2

I cannot join any communities to attend any run meetsI have just downloaded your app, I have made an account however when I’ve been invited by a friend to join a community the app always says “sorry we cannot connect to your account” I’ve used this on wifi and no wifi, same issue. I’ve tried to reset my password, it also won’t allow me to change this. Suggestions? Thank you..Version: 10.6.1

WARNING RIP OFF!!! - So not subscribe to premiumI had the free version, and as quite happy with it. I am training for a marathon so decided to upgrade for the plans. It assesses you to give you a plan. However the major problem comes with the voice coach. There isnt one. It tells you pace, heart rate etc, but there is no 'coaching' ie audio direction to runs at medium pace for 2mins, slow down etc. So, unless you want to run along watching the screen in your phone, dont bother. I wrote to the support team, and go a message back stating that they told me via email in 2020 the app was being phased out so support would stop. So this basic fundamental functionality was never available and the app is jot fir for purpose. At least have the decency to turn off the subscription function for premium as there is nothing premium about it other than a charge..Version: 13.25.1

Serious Privacy IssuesI am a happy premium Runtastic member since many years. However, since v10, and when used with an Apple Watch, it is no longer possible to decide which health data Runtastic reads – Runtastic forces you to let you read all of them. I had a long chat with customer service, who rather disinterested told me that it is ›intended‹ this way and that Runtastic now ›requires‹ to Read ALL my health data. This is rather disturbing that Apple gives you the principle possibility to let you decide which Health data an app is allowed to read – and then the app simply requires you to set every single toggle to ›allow Runtastic to read your data‹. It appears, Adidas now uses the app to get as many vital data from its paying(!) customers as it can get. This was a very bad move..Version: 10.4

Good UI, but no integrationI love the interface of this app. I like the Apple Watch app as well. I like the fact I can track a run on my watch and despite my headphones being linked to my phone, it will push feedback to them through the phone. My biggest problem is the lack of integration with other apps. I record to Strava, but this app won’t do it. In fact I have been unable to even find a workaround, which can normally be found with other apps. Come on Adidas, this has been an issue for a long time, why don’t you get this sorted?.Version: 11.17

Don’t trust thus developerI used to use Runtastic’s MountainBike Pro app, but they withdrew support without notice, stranding my record of past activities. Stay well clear. ————— No thanks for the long patronising response to this review. When you have just failed a client, telling them how great you are is a very poor response. I now have no way of extracting the rides I recorded this week as they will no longer connect to your server. It is cynical and negligent to discontinue this service without warning..Version: 9.9

Fix Average Pace under Running StatisticsAfter fixing the ‘failed goal’ fiasco NOW the average pace in Running Statistics is off 2 minutes per kilometre. The app has failed Change Management and lacks basic features that could propel this app forward, but simple mistakes continue to cause major issues for serious users of the app...very disappointed with Adidas!.Version: 11.8.1

Needs work when moving over from RuntasticUsed to rate this5 star when it was Runtastic. Premium Runtastic user for over 5 years. Switched to Adidas running as support for Runtastic was stopping. Now can’t view my records. Also a few activities seem to be unavailable. I’m a dancer but Dancing is no longer an option in activities, only in my recent activities so if I let it drop out of recents I won’t be able to get it back. Could do with help on finding my records please. Could really do with the Dance option added back too seeing as I’m paying for premium and it’s my main activity..Version: 11.14

Apple WatchYour latest update broke support for my Apple Watch. Please resume support from WatchOS6+..Version: 12.16

Was amazing when I had my iPhone 7.Since I upgraded to the iPhone 12,I have had the problem of the app not registering my gps location. So sometimes my miles are short or sometimes they are long. When I look at the trouble shooting page it gives me all these nice things to do. But none of them work. Still says that my location is not turn on and that I should turn it on. Did that 10 times and made sure it was on while I was only using the app. Guess what still said the same thing after my run. I wish it was the same as when I had my iPhone 7, you would think that having a better phone the app would shine but it took a big L. Maybe an update would fix this problem 🤷🏽‍♂️ On this app. Meaning you guys need to update your adidas app..Version: 11.19.1

An initial reviewI came to the Adidas Running app as their competitor Nike ditched without warning the ability to plan a full schedule of Itemised running for a specific purpose such a training for a race many weeks away but even tho I’d have been happy to have paid for this excellent function and as Nike have steadfastly ignored many such comments I made the move to Adidas. It’s taken a bit of time to get used to the “American sounding vocals” and the set up, but so far so good. I would have liked the facility to know my training plan would amend itself in line with my ability or not to stick to the bespoke training plan as due to injury I’ve not completed a couple of the end of week long runs. Would also like to see the text size a tad bigger in the app, but that’s an aspiration as the default is adequate. I think the annual subscription is of value as I can also set up a strength training plan independent of the run plan. So after a couple of months I’d be happy to recommend both apps, but as the year progresses I may change that assessment. Hopefully this will help someone? Keep safe and carry on running!.Version: 11.18

Awful, lost me to StravaSeriously! Used your app for 3 years, and ok the odd ad popped up when using the free version, but really this update has made this app unusable due to the amount of free ads. Everytime you want to do something, ad, when you want to look at a run, ad. Kind of bullying customers who use the free version to pay monthly for the app, bad marketing ploy. Maybe serious runners will pay, but for those who just want to track their run and record it, you have pushed them away. Was an excellent app, now just pure rubbish with nothing but ads!.Version: 8.0.1

Too many ads in the wrong spotsI used to like this app a lot, when the ads for the free version were bareable, now they come up as soon as i want to see my stats, or in other areas too..not once, but TWICE in a row... it’s very off putting..Version: 8.2

Always loved the app but quality seems to be droppingI’ve been a longtime user of Adidas Running, joining the community when it was still called Runtastic. I’ve always loved the app and stayed loyal despite strong competition popping up in the space in recent years. More often now I am having issues with annoying bugs messing up my results (e.g. Apple Watch app freezing half way through the run, heart rate not monitored, GPS signal failures…) which makes me worried that the technical support for the app is being scaled down as we also haven’t seen any major updates to keep up with competition in a while. Really hope it’ll get better in the coming weeks, as I really don’t want to have to switch to a different app..Version: 12.8

BewareI signed up to free trial for a week. Had difficulty using app within first two day. To delete this app before free trail period is not an easy process despite what is claimed to be easy in instructions. In my view it’s designed to stall purchasers so that they will be charged for package (s) once week is up. You can’t cancel the app through the Runtastic links you must do it through iTunes account. Look around before purchasing , read the many online negative reviews on other sites. There are better , consumer friendly apps with good customer service and easy delete methods..Version: 8.6.1

Exporting difficultiesDoesn’t seem like this app likes to play nice with others. I’ve had multiple times now, where the workouts will not push any GPS data out to AppleHealth nor Strava. Of course, it’s always fun to spread the motivation that comes from working out and those other platforms integration is key to using this app as the front-end of the apple watch during a workout..Version: 12.28

Recent updates didn’t helpThe app is slow to start an activity now after the recent updates. The syncing between Apple Watch and iPhone is not that good anymore. I was cycling and the app was working on the iPhone but on the watch it was showing 200m metres after 1 hour cycling while iPhone was showing 15km. The app was working fine 1 month ago and why fix it when it is not broken?? A request please, Could you add British English to the voices as well?.Version: 11.12

OkFor a running app, it does the job. It has pretty much all the info you will need to get yourself to your goal. However, the constant adds are really annoying. When I first got the app, there was only a couple of adds here and there. Now there seems to be an add ever time you press a button... then there is the in app pop up that is so helpful, letting you know that if you don't want adds, then you can buy the full version....Version: 8.4

First reviewI am going to be updating this as I use it longer. My first review is not a positive one. Yes , I paid for the premier version. Today I was supposed to do a 40 minute run. I start up the app on my Apple Watch and to my disappointment the Runtastic app only works with your watch if you have your phone on you. Not a chance am I carrying my phone while I run (iPhone 7). So that's a big disappointment so far. The Runtastic app in general (on the watch) freezes way to often. Too many glitches. I will keep updating as I go, not sure if the money I paid for this is worth it yet. Time will tell. Oh, I cannot find my initial test results anywhere!! I know I entered them but they are nowhere to be found on the app. Update 2: I have the new watch and it’s been a while since I’ve used the app. So far I’m doing the 5k intermediate training plan and everything is going really great. Pros: easy to sync between my watch and phone. Person talks to you and provides count downs. Music controlled within app. Cons: I still think that this app only works while your phone is with you. For example,’I don’t think I can start my plan for my 5k with my watch alone, I have to navigate to it with my phone and then have my phone on me. The watch simply mimics my phone. Data read back could be better. In addition to seeing my pace a cross each mile. I would love to see what my pace is for the timed intervals. That’s it for now. Will keep updating..Version: 8.5

App has gotten worseThis app has gotten worse over the years since it was MiCoach. I would drop this app and my still, but I don’t want to loose all my past runs and the data why the developers have removed the ability to customize training, doing an assessment, even small things like the training week in the app ends on a Saturday. My last training day ends on a Sunday, it makes it harder to accurately track your progress when the developers of the app are gigging against you! Let me tell you when my week starts, let me tell you (like I used to be able to) what days I run for my training schedule. Tell me how many miles each day to run in the schedule. None of this, run easy for 40 minutes. That tells me nothing, that’s not a training schedule, that’s a generalized recommendation. I actually should give this app a 1 star because of how good it used to be and how bad Adidas has made it..Version: 10.3

Heart rate tracking stopsQuite liking this app but for the second time in a row it has quit tracking my heart rate rate after I leave the red zone which is quite annoying. (on Apple watch/iOS basic free app) After the first time, I deleted and re downloaded but the problem happened again this morning. Apart from this issue it’s a cool app and one I’d like to use more as it’s quite in depth. 3 stars. Now as 8 Oct 22 I’m giving it a 1. This hasn’t wanted to start from my Apple Watch on my last 3 runs. So I removed it from my watch and reinstalled, rebooted both my phone and my watch and it worked. Went out today and it wouldn’t start… I’m not rebooting everything before I start a run every time so I guess I’m now going to have to find a new tracker. Shame really because I really liked this one.Version: 12.29

Apple Watch won’t load the appI’ve tried multiple times to try and load up the app on my Apple Watch, each time I’m left with a message to allow location while using the app. Then that’s all I get, the app won’t load further on the watch even though it’s set up correctly on the iPhone. I’ve contact the help desk several times and get a generic automatic response to follow these steps, tried them 4 or 5 times and still no progress. When I reply to their email I get no response, also when putting in a new more detailed request including that I’ve tried their trouble shooting a five and it hasn’t worked I get the same email back asking me to follow the steps, again an automatic reply. Very poor customer happiness team as they call themselves!.Version: 12.12

Better on iOSGroups should be geofenced they’re pretty meaningless, that would take it to 4 star. Dark mode would get to 5 star..Version: 13.11

Not worth paying for.Runtastic recently removed all features from their website. You cannot see any of your data online nor can you download any gps data from the site or app to use with other services. Very disappointed in the changes they’ve made without giving users any notice. I’m adding this edit after seeing the developer response below which is essentially the non answer they’ve been giving to all users. I urge anyone reading this that this app is not worth downloading at all. There are much better fitness apps out there with developers who actually respect their user base and paying subscribers. Runtastic has chosen to destroy a once terrific platform..Version: 9.8

Has potentialI wanted it for the custom activity settings, distance, elevation, pace etc. Sadly once the activity has saved it changes the config if displayed settings back to the default, so they never finished implementing the custom option actions the whole app which is disappointing..Version: 11.5.1

Locked out of account, no way to contact supportI have used this app for 3 years as a paying premium member, and have loved it. Today I was logged out of my account. (no big deal). Attempts to log back in and reset my password on both the app and website have failed. There is no customer support contact for login help, as you must log in to submit a support request. Please reply to this so I can change my review and continue using your great product. Update: Took 5 days to get a support response email. Since then, I have received 4 emails from support with canned fixes like “install the latest version” or “ follow this link to reset your password”. I am now 15 days out from the initial problem and still can’t access the account I am paying for as a premium subscriber. Average turnaround email is about 48 hours... to solve a login issue!!! You can do better..Version: 10.6.1

New font is too hard to readThe new black & white font is very hard on the eyes and not appealing at all, same as another user commented on. Even trying to choose a weather icon is difficult, as it is hard to distinguish between snow and rain because it all uses the new black and white thin font. I recommend changing back to how it used to be, which was in colour and the sun, rain, snow weather icons were easy to see at a glance..Version: 13.0

Much functionality lost with removal of websiteRuntastic used to be awesome. I’ve been a user (and paying customer) for years. Recently they’ve retired their excellent website portal with no notice to users. Route creation and export (useful for Strava uploads) are now gone. I can’t export my years of historical data in any meaningful fashion. Most miffed. And this was after the removal of their Withings integration a year or so back. I’m heading elsewhere with a heavy heart - I’ve never found anything as good as the *old* Runtastic. Update following Runtastic’s response: your statement that “my ability to export training data is not affected” is not true. I used to be able to download my activities as TCX files, for upload to Strava. Now, I can only bulk-download all my data at once in an undocumented JSON format which is of no use..Version: 9.8

Runtastic used to be goodThey took don’t the website. They say they are working hard to bring all the same functions to mobile app, but can’t even create a route anymore. Terrible i’m switching to Strava..Version: 10.13

App stops run when notifications pop up?!? YOUCH!Ruined my run Adidas. Was only at 2 1/2 miles and my Apple rings notified me that I closed a ring and this somehow indicated to your app that my run was over. Won’t be using this again. Might want to look into that. Huge oversight..Version: 12.10

Bring back micoach!Yes I still miss micoach. I used both runtastic and micoach for years before they merged but runtastic always was kind of my backup tracker. Micoach was awesome because of the coaching feature. Now I just use my watch but I still uploaded everything to runtastic. Now the web version is gone - ok fine. But now when I upload (one at a time by the way), it just assumes everything is a run (even though a simple algorithm could probably check the file name which says what it is!), fine I’ll change all the activity types for the walks and hikes. And now, if I change the activity type it doesn’t count for challenges. I really don’t know why I use this anymore because it’s mostly just frustrating but I guess it’s my backup....Version: 11.2

A little disappointed!I used the Runtastic app since 2012. The Pro version. Once Runtastic changed to the Adidas Running app I was disappointed that I could no longer see my stats, other than my daily or month view. No longer could I see my all time stats, I couldn’t even see my week stats, I couldn’t even compare my month or years anymore. And all because I have to pay for the premium version of that app, which is what I did when I went to the Pro version of Runtastic. I think more should have been considered for users of Runtastic that have been using it for many years..Version: 11.17

Great “new” app??This app has been running downhill for a while now. The retirement of the website was a huge loss as the information provided there was much better than in the app. Now the big reveal for the promised ‘fabulous’ upgrade shows a new colour scheme and name but little else. Very disappointing! Cancelling subscription—no value for $$ anymore..Version: 10.0

Overall pretty goodOverall its a pretty good app that has helped me get on a regular regimen with goals and something to compete against (myself and my times). I use it multiple times per week and it helps me immensely but it has a few issues. Problems: 1. Accuracy: Lately the gps signal has been great until I start a run and then it gives me a message that my signal is low and as a result my distances and times are often inaccurate. I run the same 2 routes every run but its off by as much as .2 miles sometimes. Somedays, on the same route i have no gps signal issues and everything is great but because of the accuracy issue with the gps, my pace and such are often way off. 2. I put my shoes in to the app to keep track of miles on my shoes (excellent idea for a feature) but it only logged one run to those shoes and I just checked after a month of 2-3 mile runs, 3-4 times weekly, it only has logged 2 hours. On paper its a great feature if it worked. 3. The voice notification speaks too quietly if listening to music while running. If my music is off I can hear it but otherwise its too quiet. It would be great if a) it could automatically turn down your music while it gives the pace notification louder than the music. And b) you could set the pace notification to more often than a mile Other than that its great and my running journey would have likely ended long ago had it not been for the app.Version: 11.1

All I wanted to do is track distanceAll I wanted to do is track distance while I ride my bike or walk and then have it sync to my Apple activity and health app. I wanted to also be able to enter things manually on occasion as I don’t always carry my phone (I know, sacrilege). This sounded like it would fit the bill, so I downloaded it. Well it wants me to sign in with my Facebook login, which I don’t have, or activate some account. I don’t like giving out information to those that don’t need it. I just want an app that lives on my phone and does what little I need it to do. So I deleted the app straight away. Sorry, given all the news about personal information right now, I am just not going to start giving it out now, since I have no Facebook, Twitter, or any of the other social media apps..Version: 8.4

ShyteThey called me into paying for an upgrade telling me there be no ads. Now I get more ads and more crap popping up. I wish they would’ve left it alone and left it as Runtastic.Version: 12.18

No longer records HRIt no longer records heart rate when running, does for the first few minutes then stops. Have had the app open when running on my watch and nothing recorded. Only has stopped since the new watch is update..Version: 6.7.2

Used to love this app ...I enjoyed Runtastic but now have to use Adidas Run after Runtastic App discontinued and my account was transferred. I used to loved the app as I find it inspiring to set up goals and complete them. However, my yearly goal that I have completed was not recorded this time. As I was explained by a customer happiness team representative that I did not finish it manually. But there was no such an option or request to finish it manually. Also the year has finished so why my result is not recorded? Doesn’t make any sense. I will probably check for some other running apps this year..Version: 11.16.1

It used to be the best appI am user since 2013, almost everyday runner and had the purchased version. They are cutting down features in every update now. In the recent update, I cannot even compare my own data for month and year as they want to get paid for that. What a shame. I may have to check out some other apps but am very disappointed to lose all my data since 2013..Version: 11.16

Spotty, looses gps support settingsFrom time to time it would tell you that you have to allow location services. The problem is you will have those permissions already in place yet you will not get the map after your run leaving the details blank. I’m using iPhone 14 Pro Max and this is the only app with this type of glitch..Version: 13.23

Used to be great, now failingEver since the last few “updates”, the watch app is rubbish. It crashes almost every time in the middle of exercise and you loose all your data. The previous version was fine, now it’s been broken for no added benefit. I’ve tried reinstalling, reloading, logging out/in, nothing fixes it. If you get notifications during a workout, or switch apps, expect it to crash and fail. Sometimes it just crashes anyway. The only saving grace now is that you can choose watch+phone for logging, so if the watch crashes, you might be alright with the phone still working..Version: 8.1.1

Ripped offIt’s impossible to find the cancel subscription in this AP. They’ve charged $60 and I don’t want the AP because it didn’t work. No idea how to cancel..Version: 8.5

LeftThey left Russia. I have only been working with your app for four years, and today I received an SMS, your account will be deleted soon. Well done!!! First, all the stores were closed, the doors were closed for two years, and now they remembered the Adidas Running app... at least made it possible to transfer all the data, thank you for that, the worst company❤️ I wish you bankruptcy 🥳🥳🥳.Version: 13.28

Doesn’t properly trackI really wanted to like this app, especially since you get to earn points towards Adidas while doing a normal run activities. However, it lacks so many things that make it functional for tracking your runs. First, it never tracks the correct distance. Often times off by a significant amount such as running 1 mile but only tracking at you did .1 miles. But my biggest grape is that it says it works with the Apple Watch but it does not. 70% of the time it does not display your current stats on the watch while running which is the whole point of having a watch while running. So you can’t keep track of your current pacing, heart rate, etc.I’ve gone through all of the recommended steps such as uninstalling the app on both my watch and phone and restarting my devices and still it has the same problems. Developers of this app please take a look at apps like RunKeeper to see how your app should work..Version: 12.9

It's almost perfectIt does almost everything right but there are a few things I think are missing and one thing that I feel is wrong. What's missing: 1. The option to have app state your pace at certain intervals aside from when it completes a mile. I currently have to keep Runkeeper open and running simultaneously to get those numbers. 2. When you're looking at your stats after the run, you can't get exact numbers on the graph like you could on the web interface when running your finger/pointer over it. Let's bring that to the app if the we interface is going away. What's wrong: I'm not sure how this isn't the default action but why does the timer not hard stop when you've completed the task? If I set the distance for 5k , the timer/activity should stop when I hit the 5k. That is not what happens! The voice says you completed it but the timer continues into you manually end the activity. That's unacceptable for those of us who are constantly trying to beat a time. We need to know the time it took us to run the distance, not how long it takes us to run the distance, take the phone out of our arm holder, unlock, and swipe to pause. Seconds matter. Autopause isn't a worthy substitute because it takes a moment to register you stopped moving but then unpauses when you're trying to get your phone free. Give an option to have the time stop when a duration/goal is complete and I'll give this a five star..Version: 10.2

Apple Watch app is awfulI used this app exclusively for more than 3 years without an Apple Watch, and I really liked it. Recently purchased an Apple Watch to have more data about fitness and the like. The watch app is almost useless. It has failed to log more than half of my jogs. And, sometimes you will start the jog on the Watch, and it won’t log your distance until the first time you look at the watch. In some instances, I have started my jog (with the 15-second delay) and not checked the watch until I’m 2mi into the jog, only to find that it’s only then starting to track my distance! Looking for another option..Version: 11.25

Missing Critical FeaturesI was a long time satisfied and PAID user of Runtastic Roadbike Pro. Adidas bought them out and shut down that great app (without warning). I can no longer log into Runtastic Roadbike Pro. I have been forced to migrate to Adidas Running. There are two critical features missing from Running that makes this app nearly worthless for my needs. Roadbike Pro had access to the “Open Cycle Map”, which showed al trails and bike paths, not just roads. That was where I preferred to bike, not on roads. That map is missing from Running. I was also able to download those Open Cycle Maps for use offline when I am biking in areas without cell coverage. That is also missing in Running. Without the Open Cycle Map and ability to download it for use offline, this app is just 1 Star..Version: 10.12

Used to love it, but...I’ve used this app daily for about a year and think it’s great. In the last few weeks I’ve struggled with connectivity issues and have to reload to get coverage, but this week I just keep getting an error message of no GPS - I’ve turned off the phone and started again, I’ve even deleted the app and reloaded, but nothing is fixing this issue! Any clues before I look for a different app?.Version: 8.8

Loved Runtastic not this app thoughNot one for writing reviews but after the disappointment with this app I have felt compelled. I had been using Runtastic regularly since around 2014, I used it to track all my cycling and running workouts, having been forced to “upgrade “ to Adidas after Runtastic stopped working I have to say I’ve now given up on it completely, for some reason it won’t track full workouts and falls short of mileage I know to be accurate, it often misses out large chunks of my workout or won’t record at all. I have tried several methods to reset the app but nothing works. I’m really disappointed after logging everything with Runtastic over the years to say I’ll be no longer using it..Version: 11.20

Deceptive AppDon’t subscribe! Trying to cancel Premium Membership during the 7 day free trial has been a nightmare! If I gave permission to purchase via a click of a button surely termination to avoid charges should be the same! Instead I’m being asked to send all my personal documents & signature to Austria! This is a joke. I may never purchase Adidas products again due to this inconvenience! Extremely frustrated & waste of 1/2 a day!.Version: 12.4

New UI is difficult to readThe recent major UI design updates aren’t very user friendly. As a runner, not wearing my glasses, the new layout is hard to read. You have removed colours from icons, which makes it even harder now to discern between functions. Some interactions with the app, for example how you felt when closing a workout, require now more than one interaction to finish an exercise. I think this update is nice for some UI people, but less useful for athletes using it. During a workout there are different demands then looking at it on your MacBooks in the office..Version: 13.0

I had the PRO version and...I’ve been a happy user of the Runtastic App for almost 10 years. Few days ago I was informed that the previous app was discontinued so I was invited to download the Adidas by Runtastic app. That wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t for the fact that I had the PRO version while now I can only access the basic one. I will happily rectify my review if you could kindly give me back the PRO version I had for several years, without having to pay for it again. Thank you..Version: 11.16.1

Need iOS11 - bewareDoes not warn users that watch app will disappear if you update and stay on iOS10 and watchOS 3. Loads of issues with iOS11 there not updating until it is stable which means runtastic cannot be used with apple watch therefore moving to another app update - watch app does not work with training plan, pointless!!! Developers why give all the options in the phone app and then release a useless watch app??!??!! why even make it standalone, there are better watch apps out there, e.g. strava, nike, runkeeper, endomomdo. once my premium subscription is up I will not be renewing. Update - glad to hear the connected app will be coming back, will wait and see if it is working as normal when released. on another note, new update adds a bar at the bottom for menu, looks nice but have now removed the info when using plans. It use to show what intervals and live progress when doing a plan routine it is now missing since the menu change. Please bring this back update : still no update for the connected apple watch app. It’s was meant to be put in december.Version: 8.0.1

Used to be greatThis was my favorite running app bar none for years. I paid for the premium membership back when I hardly had two nickels to rub together because it had so many great features. But it seems with the updates and things shifting around they’ve gotten rid of some of my old favorite features that I used to use to help monitor progress, like only showing one total average pace per session. I used to love after my session seeing all the information and details and especially seeing my fastest and slowest paces per mile through the session. When I finished my session today after not having used the app for a while, I was shocked at what little information was provided at the end compared to what used to be given. I searched all over the app looking for more info before realizing it’d been gutted. Really a bummer, because I’ve loved this app so much and it’ll be tough to try to adjust to another one. It’s probably still great for those who want a streamlined experience or who didn’t come to love what we used to have, so have nothing to compare it to, but I think it’ll be the first year I cancel my premium subscription since starting it years ago..Version: 13.0

New Year and training plan failedThe app has potential but if issues like a current training plan skipping ahead to week 50 once it turned to 2024 and losing my progress on that plan and then trying to link my previous runs to a new plan also saying error! Otherwise I like the app!.Version: 13.25

Unreliable integration with Health AppDecent app that fails just short of being the running app of choice. Got the free version so ads are an expected annoyance but I’d be extremely reluctant to upgrade to the paid service when 1 out of 5 times I encounter errors during runs and lose the data, resulting in me having to manually add the exercise and guessing how far it was and my time. For clarity, I’m using my Apple Watch to start the run but have my phone connected by Bluetooth and get an error, most common one being “Apple Health Error occurred”. Much more reliable and cheaper alternatives on the AppStore that offer similar features..Version: 8.5

Rate baggersSo here it is. Doesn’t even have a pace/speed unit.Version: 9.2

Add-on/plug in, data export issue. Uncomfortable mantality. One of the very main reason I thought using this app was because it was directly linked to another app I like, Relive. However, after a month I paid and joined the premium account, the app end the partnership with Relive. And now, it gave me issue about exporting my data. The exported data the website generated is a .json format instead of .gpx format,Which is incompatible to most of the other apps. Overall by itself, the app is pretty decent. However for what I need my data compatible to other apps, the app is just keeps pulling back inch by inch. I’m not comfortable with this kind of mantality..Version: 12.23

Can’t log in with iOSDecided to login using iOS which doesn’t work and then can’t login via email because account already exists. When logging in via iOS it asks for more details including email which is an empty disabled field and then it errors with email is required when trying to continue. Clearly a UI bug, can’t seem to raise a support request either as also can’t login on the website (it just doesn’t log in with no errors) and raising a support request requires email..Version: 13.8

DisappointingDue to cartilage problems with my knees I’m not able to run for exercise. Instead, I do a lot of walking. For years I have used Runtastic on its “walking” setting, as it automatically sends a record of my burned calories to My Fitness Pal. This morning, on opening Runtastic on my iPhone, I was disappointed to get a message that Runtastic had been deactivated, and that I should download the Adidas Running app. Does that mean Runtastic no longer caters for those of us who walk for exercise? I can’t run, so a running app is absolutely useless to me. I’m so disappointed with this decision to exclude walkers from receiving feedback about their exercise. I guess I now need to seek out a new app for that purpose. Disappointing..Version: 11.16.1

Worrying PrivacyTurns out you can’t "Not accept” the new terms of Runtastic, there is no option to decline and delete your account. To delete, you first need to accept. Is this even legal? What is worse, every external link they provide inside the T&C text also redirects to the same page. So there is no real way to fully accept it. App completely locked down. In summary, to read the terms you first need to accept them. To decline the terms and delete your account you need to accept them. This can’t be legal. They deleted my account without me requesting it, and without verifying I was the owner of it... Really, I’m so glad I have no longer a Runtastic account. This throws the GPDR book through the window....Version: 9.9

Not accurate enoughIm doing the same track every day wich is 5 km, sometimes the app measures 4.7 km.Version: 10.12.1.

Doesnt work on the apple watch anymoreI use it and all work fine until the app doesnt work on the watch for no reason. The customer service cant help me. Poor stability.Version: 12.11

App deleted all 3 years of activities upon updateI just updated my app after a longer break. Previously I had the Runtastic app which, as I just found out, has been discontinued and Adidas running app took over. I didn’t create an account so all my data was stored on my phone. This isn’t available on the new app which is fine but unfortunately this also meant that as soon as I updated it and created a new account all of my previous data was lost. I contacted customer support who briefly advised this is irrecoverable at this point as I locally stored my data. I believe this is a major design flaw because the app never gave me any option to transfer my data into the new account or to just keep it on my phone. Very disappointed..Version: 12.12

Can’t installI can’t install to my watch. Is it only available for US store.Version: 10.11

Forces me to have accountI just want to run, I don’t want to sign up with anyone. Appreciate devs response but found good alternative that can give me good service without account.Version: 8.2

Latest update removes functionality and is unreliableI've been using the free version of this app for more than a year, and the latest update has made this app significantly worse: 1. Starting a run is now unreliable - when I touch the green 'Start' bar at the bottom of the screen, often nothing will happen. I can only get this to work if I force quit the app, re-launch it, and select start within a few seconds of the green start bar appearing. This worked reliably in earlier versions. 2. The run summary has been simplified, removing informaiton like calories burned and average running speed..Version: 7.1

RubbishI used to use MiAdidas, which was great, & free (although of course, you had to buy the HR monitor etc). Adidas stopped providing this & recommended Runtastic. The basic service wasn’t great, so I ended up buying a years membership. What a waste of money. Ian totally sick of it. It provides a worse service than the free Adidas one. It doesn’t stop if I do, which the old one used to, it has inflexible Training plans. It has some quite good story runs, but only a few - I think the company has gone on to develop new apps & is not bothering to maintain/improve the original. I won’t be buying another year. I would have given zero stars if I could..Version: 8.2

What is this supposed to be?Runtastic used to be the best, most accurate and simple running/biking app out there. Since it became adidas it seems to be trying to be a social media "fitness app". Now If i just want to go for a run there is nowhere to just start it and run, it seems you have to take one of their cookie cutter programs and join groups and take challenges. I am so disappointed in what they have done to a previously exceptional app..Version: 11.3

Will not allow sync with iPhone 14 and Apple Watch SE (version 2)There is a functional option to sync the app with an Apple Watch. It does not work. I purchased the watch to track horseback riding mileage, which I have done with the app on my old iPhone 8 for years. The app does significantly drain my phone battery life, so I had hoped that using the watch would remediate this problem. Both my iPhone 14 phone and the watch are new and running the latest IOS versions. Unfortunately, the option to add an Apple Watch just does not work. It gets as far as the grant permissions screen (completed) and will not allow you to select “Next” to progress any further. Very disappointing..Version: 12.32

Average at BestI have the paid/premium version of thE app. Without that it doesn’t store much data. Even without I can’t sort the data to look at what I want, which is basic. For example if I want to track my pace over a few months I can’t do that without going into each run event. I can see the distances and total time... but not the pace. Sure I could math it out but... they could just put it in there. I can do that on the under armor app. It’s things like that which make this app average. For a free app look elsewhere. If you like adidas and the creators club, you need this app though as each mile logged gets you points. That’s literally the only reason to choose this app over better, less expensive options..Version: 11.16

ProblèmeProblème avec le partage sur Facebook depuis la dernière mise à jour.Version: 8.0.1

Stops responding randomlyNot sure why but it stops responding suddenly when I try to start tracking my run. Closing and reopening doesn’t work. Can you have a look at it please?.Version: 13.8

App UpdateI BOUGHT this app 5 years ago when it was Runtastic Pro. Over that time I have run countless miles and been able to track all of my data. Since the most recent update (2 weeks ago) they have redesigned the progress tracker, which basically was just hiding all of your data tracking behind a pay wall. Now you have to subscribe to a Pro membership to see you own progress except for your monthly stats. What a terrible money grab. They need your membership money to pay for the app environment and all of the extra bells and whistles. So if you are a runner just looking to track your stats and not interested in paying $9.99 a month then avoid this app. So disappointed in the company..Version: 11.16.1

Could be great...I do love this app due to how easy it is to use. I have been using this app on my iwatch and although there are a huge range of sports on the iPhone however these aren’t available on the iwatch. It would be great if the developers would allow users to select/change the sports that show up on the iwatch and choose the default sport..Version: 10.13

GreatOverall a great app but I’d love to see a version that is not designed for black women only.Version: 12.21

Very useful, but...I’m more or less a big fan of this app. I find it invaluable when trying to stay in shape to play soccer as a 44 year old or to recover from injury or not let the wings and beer add up over the years. The data the free version provides is great and it’s fairly intuitive to use. My big hangup is the lack of accuracy with the satellite data. I run the same route fairly regularly, and I have seen some wild variances on distance covered and the trace of my route on the map. Also, I’ll include the standard spoiled westerner critique and say I wish I didn’t have to pay for some of the other data; but that’s capitalism. Overall, it’s quite nicely done. It’s just that without accurate distance and mapping, it starts to defeat the purpose. With that fixed it’s a sold 4.5 in my book..Version: 10.9

App is too laggy. Takes too long to launch.App takes too long to start up and launch. I am always all ready to begin my run or walk but the app takes such a Long time even when I have pressed the START button. Pls the countdown also takes up a few seconds just to get rid of. And way too many ridiculous advertisements that annoy the hell out of the user..Version: 8.5

Just okayUpdate: after the most recent update, the voice alerts during runs either don't work or became too soft (even with phone on maximum volume) so they cannot be heard. I can no longer tell when I have completed half the run and need to turn around. I checked the help section in the app but the search field it opens in the browser doesn't work either (I can type in the search terms but clicking "Done" or the magnifying glass does nothing). I guess I shouldn't use automatic updates on this app. Old review : I have only used it for a few weeks and likely only basic features compared to others, but it has been fantastic so far. A really nice feature it has that my previous app did not is to set a workout goal, in duration, distance, or other, and during the workout it will let you know when you are halfway done (very useful during a run so I know when to turn around). It also tells you the pace periodically. It download the map when I have access to internet and the app works when I lose wifi during a run. I haven't looked at the history data yet but so far it has everything I was looking for.Version: 9.9

Average since the upgradeI used to love this app and use it everyday, but since the latest upgrade I can no longer manually adjust calories burned to match the reading my HRM gives me, and due to that alone, I now rarely use this app at all..Version: 3.1

When it was Runtastic it was FantasticHad to download this Adidas version of original Runtastic app since it became deactivated last week. I have attempted to set up the Adidas iWatch app several times and continue to get the prompt to finish setting up app on iPhone by setting up location permissions to allow while using app. When I go to the app on my phone, it doesn’t allow you to finish setting up the watch because the “next” button is not “clickable” to move forward setting up the app. Basically, this app is useless if it won’t connect to my iWatch. I use to use the original Runtastic app daily so I’m disappointed that I’ll have to find another app to track my fitness since this app is useless to me now..Version: 11.16.1
