✓ Stupid AII enjoy almost everything about this game except for the idiotic AI. It’s fast. It’s free. But it’s stress inducing. Not what you look for in a game. The worst gameplay is when your partner bids Nil or Blind Nil and leads with an Ace. The reverse is equally horrible. Every time I bid Nil my partner leads with low cards. It’d be nice to have some cover instead of having my partner trying to undermine me. I mean really. This is basic strategy. Fix it..Version: 3.2.5
✓ Who’s my partnerThe game play is simple but the program needs work. My partner is constantly trumping my high cards and causing us to be set. If I have won the trick it should not auto throw high cards. If playing teams the teammate should act like it is on the team. I go nil and the partner leads with a 2???.Version: 3.2.4
✓ StuckOnce you play the game a certain amount, a pop up comes that asks if you would like to rate the game. Once this pops up, you cannot select any of the options and are stuck staring at the pop up, unable to play. This happens each time you open the game from then on out. ✓ Why did they completely redo the game?This new version, and technically new game is just terrible. I played simple Spades because it was just SIMPLE. Now, they added a whole new look and feel, but it’s much worse. Here’s why: The game is absolutely slower, the cards being thrown out, selecting bids, and going to the next hand. The game is over animated: why? I can’t even stand to look at the characters because they look like cartoons. I can’t select who I want to play against: In the old game, I could select the players in the game. Thats now gone. They were also based on difficulty. Honestly, I had better games versus a medium and hard difficulty than two hard opponents. They right combination of conservative and aggressive. I played this game all the time. It was my time away from bs life for a few minutes. Now, that is gone because to play this new game, I’ve got to spend an hour waiting for how slow it is, and get upset about how stupid this update was. ✓ Latest update is unrecognizableMagmic's Spades was my go-to game. Solid AI; lots of options mixing up opponents and level of play. This version is not an update but a complete replacement, and a move in the wrong direction. They broke something that needed zero fixing beyond a small tweak or two. In short, the UI and AI are unplayable for anyone who knows how to play. Removed from my phone and looking for a replacement. Can only hope they go back to what worked..Version: 3.2.5

✓ Very disappointedI've been playing Spades King for several years and loved it! I haven't updated to iOS 11 yet so I can still play it. Simple Spades stinks. I have it set for most difficult play and it's like the AI opponents are playing to lose, really, 500 to -1200?! Why can't Spades King be updated to work with iOS 11? ✓ 30 second ads between hands???Spades is supposed to be a decently paced game. Having an ad in between every hand, especially when those ads are as long as 30 seconds, takes the fun out of the game. Also, your scoring system is off. There was a hand where I bid 5 and my partner bid 5. I got 4 and my partner got 6. We made our total of ten, but we also got a bag in the hand. That isn’t right. One last thing... the AI is terrible. If I bid nil, the AI will lead low cards after they took a trick of the same suit wasting a high card. For example, 2C is lead, I play 6C, then 5C is played, and my partner plays the AC. Partner then leads 3C. What the ???.Version: 3.2.5
✓ Words Cannot Express How Upset AmReally NO STARS. First off, there was no update to the paid version, so I can no longer open it. Then you replace a classy version with nice graphics to this juvenile graphic version. Truly will never get another app from magmic again. I enjoyed the old version for many years. ✓ What happened?I used to play this game all the time. It was quick and the AI was pretty good. You could fool it from time to time but all in all it felt similar to how friends play. Now the AI is incredibly frustrating. It’s gone the complete opposite and seems like they are willing to take sets just to load bags on you. And the new point system is TERRIBLE. I’ve been playing Spades for 20 years and have played all kinds of crazy house rules... never once have I played with anyone that counted bags by individual team member. If my team bids seven and takes seven we shouldn’t be penalized just because I took one less and my partner took one more than our bids. That’s a big part of the game...working together to make your bid. All that system does is add more bags in to the game and drags them out. And for some reason nil bids are only worth 50 now? What’s the point? Might as well just bid the one in your hand than try and dump it because the risk-reward just isn’t there. Bummer to lose a game I’ve been enjoying playing for years.Version: 3.2.5

✓ Really?Game play really is bad. Like playing with kids who don't know how to play the game. AI gameplay is just to unrealistic. Feels like you don't have a teammate and it's just you playing against 3 players to make you teams bids. Teammate bids 8 and starts giving away books and only makes 1 book? Who does that. Or bids 0 and starts off with ace or has the highest spade Ace in his hand. These are just a couple of examples of bad AI play..Version: 3.2.5
✓ Simple Spades has missed the mark with this updateI normally don’t write reviews for apps because I usually feel like people can make up their own minds without reading what I have to say, but on this app I felt like I needed to break my own rule. I have been a long time user of the older version of this spades game. I actually held off upgrading my IOS version when I got a message that this older version would not run on v11 of IOS. But alas a new cell phone forced me to the new version of both. I must say this version of the game misses the mark badly. They took away the ability to “pick” your level of opponent hence you lose the ability of choosing the AI personality to play against. This new version I have found on both hard and hardest level they AI spends so much time trying to give you bags it rarely makes it own bid. I have played at least a dozen games so far and I have yet to see my opponent with a positive score. Then speaking of scoring. They have changed the scoring or bags taking away the idea of “team” and making even your partner play low to not get bags even if you bid nil. Of which the old version game you a 100 points for and this one gives you 50 with no way to set it how you want. Overall I used to play this game for stress relief now I find myself more stressed after trying to play it. My advice, pass this version up. I feel robbed having paid again for this update just to have the ads removed..Version: 3.2.5

✓ Bags way too easy to getThe bags are calculated per player and not per team, so you can get set and still develop bags in a round. ✓ Unhappy with my purchaseAfter I bought this app I discovered that it has a lot of very serious bugs. For one thing, it gives you 10 bags on solo games. It should be only five bags. Also, you can tell that the robots are not playing the way real players would play. they do not throw out the cards that people do it real games. So you are not getting accurate practice. ✓ Team Player uselessFantastic game play everyday but still has bugs and the team player is ridiculous especially in Echre when the nearly always if not always order you up with a bower and I will have a strong hand with another suit and they will only have 1 card of the suit they just ordered me up with. ✓ Shrunken spadesI don't like updating my games because when I do it screws up something one way or another. Well I updated my spades game, big mistake, all of the fonts and screens have shrunk to at least half the size they used to be. This used to be my favorite game. I even endured the commercials that I got from the last update I did. But this, the game is so small that you pick the wrong cards and make mistakes all the time. You used to be able to change everything off the main menu, now you have to go to a separate menu to change game play. I concur with the other gamers that note the players have become stupid.
