A little glitchy, BUT WOW!Amazing what IK Multimedia has given the world with this app. It's not perfect, it has little glitches but that could come down to my iPhone 3GS not having the processing power to run it. Some pedals simply can't keep up like the delay, it works about 75% of the time. The octavizer can't keep up at all, it get's about every 4th or 5th note at a modest pace. Distortion, Fuzz, Envelope Filter, Overdrive, Noise Filter, Phaser, and even the Wah work wonderfully. You can put the Wah on the top of your foot and work it like a pedal! Simply incredible that you can have so much in your pocket. The amp sound are very good, not perfect but very good. Did I mention you can put it in your pocket! Worth the $20 but it might take a while for the iRig to get to you... did I mention that's another $40... Still, VERY WORTH IT!!!.Version: 0

Good app, but read this if it gives you problemsThis is a much improved version of Amplitube. Recording and master controls being the best features. My Strat sounds great using this plugged in to my Blues Jr. amp. But, it didn't work for me right away and there were aggravations. First, READ THE DOCUMENTATION. You get there from the last page of the help screens. It will give you the answers to your questions but you need to know the following right up front: To get the effects/amp modeling to work you have to "arm" the channel in the record screen (push the square button so the little red light comes on), then scroll to the "Insert FX" screen in the recorder to activate the effects. Otherwise it's just a pass though device. Keep your iRig plugged in to the iPhone until you have "exited" the app. Then unplug it. The app will shut down then and only then. Otherwise you have to "force" a shutdown..Version: 0

It's the businessSeems to have got a lot of bad press which nearly made me not buy it but it really does deliver. The sound quality is pretty cool and let's the personality of the guitar through. Preset management is better than the ampkit but should also be implemented on the master fx too. This scores over ampkit as it includes more stomps than it's rival including the octaver and a wah which ampkit doesn't offer. Both claim to be for bass but offer no bass amp in the package which is slightly mis selling the product. I have a few boggles with the interface but overall a great sounding and very usable tool which will get a deserved 5 stars with a few interface and file management tweaks I'm using the peavy amplink with it which is if a little bit cheap plastic..Version: 0

HazbohairdoSuch an awesome bit of equipment!! If you had the ability to record I would like love you forever IK Mulitmedia ;) *hint, hint* other than that this thing is quality! Having received my iRig I can't fault the app or the iRig itself on sound quality or ease of use. Just need a good set of portable speakers and a travel guitar and you're set for a holiday travel amp!!! :D.Version: 0

Amplitube rocksApp works well on a 32 Gb 3GS Noise reduction pedal is needed most of time but ok as 3 pedals can be used simultaneously in full version. For less than $100 Aust U have all these effects (I use mine with bass guitar) - excellent value. Need to upload 20 songs max using Wifi to app - would be better if you could play along with any song in the iPod part of iPhone. Upload didn't work on my 64 bit Vista computer - works on a 32 bit Vista & XP computer. Users complaining about a record function can connect the iRig headphone socket to a double adapter for phones and linein on computer to record - works a treat ! I would have given it 5 stars if you could play along with any song on iPhone iPod section. Still though an awesome app & good value seeing each pedal costs about $300 Aust !!! :).Version: 0

Brilliant app. Logo problemWhy on earth is the logo less than standard definition, yet in the app store it shows a crisp logo. It's my most expensive app and has the worst logo. Fix this. Other than that, the quantity of amps, pedals and cabinets in your pocket really is amazing. In airplane mode I have had no problems with static..Version: 2.2.2

Lots of funGreat fun to play with, but it should work through Bluetooth speakers!.Version: 3.0.1

Awesome!!!I love this app!!! I have been looking for something like this for ages and this is it and more. Ok it took a little while to get used to using the controls and there was a bit of background fuzz but that was easily solved by fiddling around with the input and output volumes on the app and you get used to the dials. Really realistic sounds and a great range of tones, amazing considering I’m playing through my iPod. I would highly recommend this to any guitarist looking for some great, portable tones!!!.Version: 2.0.2

Brilliant!!!This is brilliant! I'm using this with the proper iRig now and it works great, directly into headphones or a valve amp, it's close to the sound of a pocket pod, just not as clean and defined, but for the money WHO CARES! Nice work. I recomend it to any on the go guitarist! It's well worth the dollars. I've been playing around with it for a bit - I run it into a valve amplifier and it sounds AWESOME. It gives it that warmth it needs. I could almost perform live with this paired up with a valve amp, so long as I don't need to change effects during a song it would actually be great! These days when I wanna play around, I don't reach for my POD X3, I reach for my phone. I like the simplicity of the setup and tone through a valve amp is definitely good..Version: 0

FOR EFFECTS TO WORK - TURN THE TUNER OFF!!Like many, I could not understand why the effects I paid for did not work. I sent in an e-mail to the Amplitube folks asking for help. I did some more research and found out YOU NEED TO TURN THE TUNER OFF!! This should be on their FAQ section of their website AND a pop up window when you turn the tuner on when you use the app. Other than that, the app is great. Lots of fun..Version: 2.2.2

Awesome, as good as most digital FXI've been playing guitar for 15 or so years and over that time tried many digital effects units, multi-effects and software plugins and this app is just as good as the majority for sure. I manages to get the iRig to go with it and it's certainly replaced my analogue pedal board for home jam sessions and it's even adequate for the odd band rehearsal providing you have some presets ready for quick switching. Obviously it's not gonna replace a full outboard rig for live use but if you want a decent little set of digital FX for jamming or recording then this is certainly as good as it gets!.Version: 0

Fantastic!A joy to use. Plenty of effects and amps to play with and find your perfect sound for any occasion. Latency is not an issue which is brilliant. My one bug with it is that there's no retina display graphics unlike the fender app which got it over a month ago..Version: 2.2.1

Great for the stage...butThe only thing that I would like to see, is an acoustic modeller. Then I could bring one pedal AND one guitar. Also, maybe add behringer pedals. App rocks, love it and my irig stomp..Version: 3.4

Died but now revivedMy effects started out working great but then they all quit working.... I emailed the people and they replied with this... - In AmpliTube, click on the Tools page, if you have the Tuner ON button lit, try turning it off. Same with the "Mute" button on the Tuner section - if it is lit, turn it off. - There is also a mini-tuner when looking at the Amps and FX page. The mini-tuner is at the bottom of the screen. If the mini-tuner is turned on, this will bypass the amp and effects. Check to see that the mini-tuner is off. - Go to the REC page. Make sure to always have a track record enabled - the light next to the number 1 should be blinking. Click on the button and make sure it is blinking to hear your guitar. Make note of which track is record enabled for the next step. - If you hear your guitar, but can't hear your FX, make sure the Insert FX in the REC page is enabled. In the REC page, flick your finger lightly across the volume faders from right to left to scroll the volume fader section to get to the Insert FX page. You will see a switch with a red light on top for each available track. Make sure the switch is pushed up and the red light is on for the same track that you have record-enabled Now it works!!! The insert FX was not turned on when it was downloaded... Amazing app!!.Version: 2.2.1

Great AppAwesome app. Great range of effects. Works really well. I am running it on a iPhone 3G and there are no performance issues. The main missing feature is the ability to record..Version: 0

Stunning AppI would have given it 5 stars if it had recording capabilities, but that's the only thing that is missing, perfectly crafted and lots of fun to play with, more pedals please!.Version: 0

Great App :PThis App is Great there is no lagg in, for me, but it's stupid that the recorder isn't in the full version, we have to pay 20$ for the app and 10$ for the recorder, I think this is stupid, but the App is great and the effets sound great too.Version: 2.0.2

For everyoneReally good for any one wether you are getting too frustrated with it and you just wanna mess around or for a good player who wants to get more out of his instrament.Version: 0

Ups and downsThis app is really good, the tones are great and you can do a lot with it. Would i use this for a real recording, no i wouldnt. For demoing out song sketches and to practice with its deffitely worth the money for 40 bucks and the free version alone it sounds way better than any small bedroom practice amp. The biggest downfall is that i get a lot of click bleed and bleed from other tracks for some reason. all in all a good app though..Version: 2.0.2

Perfect for my needsI used to own some 4-track and 8-track cassette recorders back when I was in punk bands in high school and when I saw this classic looking app, I got really excited to try out another no-nonsense, portable studio like the old Tascam's I enjoyed back then. I read a lot of reviews about hiss when the gain levels got too high on distortion, but coming from a punk rock back ground, I think this app makes my tunes sound great! And for a guy who's more interested in the expression in his music than the perfection that comes from a 32 track mixing board with full EQ controls on each track and software with 500 different amp models he'll never touch, Amplitube (with the 4-track in app purchase) is the perfect app! I'm loving it!.Version: 2.0.3

AmazingI have been wanting to buy this app for ages and now that it's free for 1 week I am soo happy i used to own this on my pc until my pc broke abd this is my favourite amp and fx simulation software this is really worth every penny you spend on extra things and i really like how on IOS it has a drum looper the pc version does not have that feature and it makes playing the guitar so much fun thank you IK Multimedia i love you guys :D.Version: 3.4

Great app for practice and learning!Come folks, for what it is(an iPhone app), this is a great tool for practice, learning, and capturing ideas with your guitar or bass. No serious musician would expect a $10 app to replace a real rack of effects, $2000+ amplifier, and complete studio. The ability to mix a few effects with a decent amp, and play along with music files is great. The song interface is one of the best tools of the app. Slow it down without changing pitch, and you learn guitar and bass lines easily. I give a big thumbs up for a great user friendly app!! Just remember what it actually is and not what you wish you had in your music room. Be realistic and enjoy!.Version: 2.2.2

Your not getting a $20,000 studio for $20!!I'm looking at people ripping the crap out of this ap for it not being the mega $20,000 studio for $20, c'mon people!! I love this thing!! Use it for what it is! I had the free, liked it so paid for the full version. you get 5 or 6 stomp boxes that to buy at the store alone would be almost a grand, and they sound GOOD! I ponyed up for the Fender pack and again, lots of amp tones and more stomp boxes that to buy at Guitar Center would be another few grand! I own a few Fender guitars and a real 60w Fender Supersonic amp (there is a supersonic amp tone in the fender pack). I use the irig with a $2.00 adapter I bought at radio shack and run it through the amp on the Vibrolux (clean) channel. I get every tone on here through the amp and it sounds AWESOME!! Just like the real stompboxes! You can only do 3 stomp boxes on the ap at a time, but I run a wah pedal from the irig jack through the effects loop on the amp, works perfectly! If you have other boxes run them through the effects loop on the amp and go nuts! (though 3 is really more than enough at a crack.) Ladies and gentlemen, don't expect this thing to write songs for you or teach you how to play guitar or read your thoughts. It is modeling software, and probably the best out there for $20-$30 bucks! I just bought the recorder and haven't had a chance to use it yet, but will let you know how it goes!!.Version: 2.2.2

Great Guitar App!I am not that equipment-savvy when it comes to guitars, I don't have a recorder, only a small amp and two effect pedals. Thank goodness I found this app, it is basically everything a budget guitar player would need! To all of you complaining, think of it this way, $20 for the app, $10 for the recorder and $50 for the iRig. $80 is the cheapest you'll spend on all of these things that usually cost 100's of dollars in retail..Version: 2.6

Great app, does what it is supposed to.If you travel and play guitar you need this app. I am primarily a metal drummer who plays guitar to write song ideas. This is exactly what I have been looking for. I can now practise easily with headphones or through a stereo and record any ideas without having to use my full recording setup. For getting ideas down quickly that sound good and practising in a completely portable way this app is the way to go. Sure the sounds aren't 100% perfect but you're running a variety of amps and stompboxes ON A PHONE for the price of a round of beers! Not to mention being able to play over the top of songs and multi track record. With a decent guitar (I'm using a Gibson SG) and leads and using the Noise Filter stompbox, I am getting a very clean sound, even when using the Overdrive and Distortion stompboxes together. I have tried other apps with the iRig and they were either noisy with a lot of feedback through headphones or just didn't work. The iRig also works as a simple guitar input for my MacBook Pro which is a bonus. The only thing I would say is that the app needs to be updated for the iPhone retina display as a lot of the layout is pixelated..Version: 2.2.2

Amazing how far we've comeIt's strange how I came across this. I used to play guitar a lot but four or so years ago I set it aside and started to focus on other things. A few days ago at time of me writing this I was looking around various shops and I found the Irig attachment and saw what it was for. I didn't think much of it at the time but when I got home it popped into my mind and I remembered how much fun I used to have playing guitar and how it would be cool to have all those amps and effects with me whenever I wanted them so I went back to the store the next day and purchased it and I'm completely away. I was a bit sceptical at first because I was wondering how an app will be able to replicate the real thing but it does. Seriously the sound is amazing and I'm using a standard strat by encore so i can't imagine what it would be like to have a fender strat or les paul going through this thing. I'm gonna save up to get a les paul because that is my dream guitar but yeah if you are on a budget like me or just want to have something to practice or jam with then you cannot go wrong with this app..Version: 3.3.1

Very Impressive!Used the free version for months with the irig b4 biting the bullet & getting the full one on special. Amazingly it sounds even better somehow than the free even on similar settings?! My only gripes are how to transfer user presets from the free to the full, & it could really use a pitch changer to allow for songs not tuned to concert pitch such as available in "slow down music player". As it is re-tuning when practicing multiple songs is a pain. Otherwise a fantastic app, especially for the platform & a must for every guitarist! Well done!.Version: 2.2.1

Amazing...IK, shame on you! You held a gun to the heads of some people and FORCED them to buy buy a version for their iPhone and another for their iPad! (we all know it is imperative to have both)You threatened to kill them if they didn't, and charged them as much as a tub of popcorn at a movie theater. Then, as if that wasn't enough, you provided an app that only sounds ALMOST as good as having several $1,000+ guitar amps, and an array of effects. Disgraceful! --Seriously, though, I haven't heard a pop, glitch, or noise yet. No 60 cycle hum. Plus plenty of volume - I have to turn it down to use headphones, it's so loud..Version: 0

Best of all the Amp / Effects for guitarAll in one solution for laying down your ideas. Bass or guitar. Near instant drum track creation with drag and drop fills and styles. 4 track recording. Timeline editing. Editing effects per track IN POST on each of the four tracks!! Track pan and reverb. Master reverb, eq and compression. Accompaniment from library music. Superb, low latency effects. Very believable cabinet modeling. Fender and Marshall brands. Easiest to operate on iphone. Only downside is that if you want all the add ons, consider this a $100 purchase, which was well worth it. And the fun you can have with this being Audiobus app compatible is just insane. Buy..Version: 3.1.0

Great app. Lousy buying experience. The app works well. Many effects to play with. They sound realistic - just like Amplitube 3. The registrations process did not work properly. Had to try three times before the bonus features you get for registering unlocked. Still can't figure out how to buy the reverb, EQ and compressor from within the app - get meaningless error messages when I try. Five stars for the app. 0 stars for the buying experience..Version: 2.0.1

Version 2 Update Nails It!This app is one of the reasons why the iPhone platform is amazing. If you own/play electric guitar, you owe it to yourself to get an iRig adapter and give Amplitube a spin. The tones a player can produce are impressive, realistic and absolutely astounding. With the addition of the 4 track recorder in V2, I've upgraded my review to 5 stars. I have an iPhone 4, an have never experienced a problem with the app crashing. It's truly an incredible piece of software. To those complaining about the cost... Consider how much you'd have to spend to purchase all of the gear available in the app ($1,000's). Amplitube & the iRig are a bargain..Version: 0

Excellent piece of kit.Very good and sent out in stereo can sound excellent. It's nowhere near as clean and noise-free as full Amplitube packages through ProTools but is very useable. Metronome and tuner are ideal and tracks can be added into the storage in the software. Worth buying the full version - it's a bargain compared to full Amplitube packages! The iRig adaptor is great, there is almost zero latency on my iPhone 4 and it is a well thought out user interface. Criticisms are: Clean channels very quiet (nothing to do with iPhone volume limiter or controls etc) - the gained out amps can be treble the volume of the clean ones. Needs to be able to record into and export. Metronome could do with a volume control. High gain settings can be VERY noisy!! Needs a proper noise gate (not the filter supplied). A compressor would be nice, as would a univibe type effect. Overall don't hesitate - it's forward thinking, in quality terms like this software (and interface) that move the industry on. Well done IK!.Version: 0

I LOVE this appThis app should really be at like 4.5 average stars. Not sure what issues the others have. I’ve used this for probably 7 years now, and love it. I use with iRig I/O or iRig HD 2. I have made some amazing tones, which I record to garage band via inter-app connection. Update a few years later: This app should be 5 stars. All those griping about in app purchases I don’t know what to say. If you used the app as much as I have you would have paid a tiny tiny fraction of what the total cost is now, anyways. The important thing is that I could get the most amazing metal tones with just a few of the features, so no, you don’t need all the pedals. Great app- I love it..Version: 4.13

Used to sound fine on the 3GSWhen I bought this app, I had a 3GS, and I was pretty happy with the sound I was getting out of Amplitube and my iPhone. I traded up to the iPhone4 and for whatever reason, the Amplitube sound quality has taken a nose dive. Essentially, there is some kind of feedback coming through my headphones (no, they don't have a built-in mic). I can hear it just tapping on the pickups of my guitar. Please note, this was not the case with the 3GS - same guitar, cable, headphones. I dunno, maybe it's my iPhone4 that is the problem. At this point, Amplitube is 20 bucks down the drain..Version: 0

Compared to GarageBand....So here's what I think... I recently purchased my iPhone 6 which apparently comes standard with GarageBand already downloaded into the phone. After that I went and purchased an iRig 2 because it was on sale at my guitar store. For a while I fiddled around with GarageBand because it was already on my phone and readily available but to my GarageBand sounds very corny and to electronic. There's too much fuzz in the background (I play with headphones on) doesn't really sound like a real guitar. Granted it has a lot of features and most of the amps and stomp boxes are already pre loaded at purchase how ever it doesn't have good sounds no matter what you play. So I went and purchased Amplitube (version 4.03) and boy was I surprised! The app actually makes my guitar sound like a guitar! It' has much better quality sound and an easy to use interface without all the monitor and background noise canceling jargon that's in GarageBand. It's very clean and well refined. Granted it has some background fuzz but it's not as bad as GarageBand. I know Amplitube apparently has had some issues with older versions but believe me, they seemed to have answered the calls in he las test updates. I love it! Only issue is you have to purchase additional stomp boxes but it's well worth it for the quality of sound.Version: 4.0.3

It’s All you needI’ve used AmpliTube Brian May for god knows how long now it’s great and given that you can sound like Brian for less than $50 plus a guitar when you’d normally need $10,000+ for a Vox AC30 and the like it’s an absolute steal it’s especially great if you’re a newbie. I’ve seen lots of negative reviews and this app isn’t as popular as expected but I love it. Although I wouldn’t recommend this for live situations this is best for practice and recording.Version: 4.11.1

Desktop processing with 4!!Sounds amazing! Great job Ik! Raising the bar big time!.Version: 4.0

MrGuys, I had the same problem with the update! Delete the app from your phone and reinstall it from the store and it should work, it did for me! Yeah it's a bit of a faff and a bit of a gaff from IK but it's not the end of the world! Keep that in mind before you blast one of the best guitar apps out there!.Version: 2.8

UI Could Be More User FriendlyPlease add the ability to move up/down presets from the main screen, so it's easy to change from clean to dirty while viewing the selected amp. I would also like to see the chosen fx pedals on the main screen, as a smaller representation icon of the full colour pedal instead of the 2 colour generic icon and show the red on/off LED's..Version: 0

AwesomeJust gets better all the time. The iRig adaptor was not cheap and there is a bit of background but this can be overlooked by the sheer convenience and variety of features this app offers. Really love it and reckon it's worth every cent of the NZ$125 (approximate, including extra cost of iRig) it cost..Version: 2.0.2

Pretty cool!I don’t think that some of you guys get it. An easy to use amp modeler with effects, phrase trainer (once IK M. gets it working), tuner, metronome and basic four track recorder that you can carry in the palm of your hand for $70 (including iRig)…pretty cool. Down sides-I find the amp models pretty gritty on the top and pretty noisy. The not so low, “low latency” takes getting used to and the “ultra low latency” pops, clicks and sometimes breaks up completely. I can’t import songs from my on-board library; IK M. says they’re working on a fix. I’m using an iPod Touch Gen 3; it may perform differently on other devices. Those who believe that this set-up should work as well and do as much as $$$ of dedicated gear are missing the point. Will I be selling my POD X3 Pro or Roland VS2480 any time soon? Not likely! If you’re looking for a basic take-along practice device that will also record those new song ideas and it fits in a device you already take with you plus it’ll cost you less than that overdrive pedal you’ve been thinking of…it’s a no-brainer.Version: 2.0.1

GreatThe peavey link interface is far superior when used in ampkit as it eliminates feedback and crosstalk that happens. It sounds good, especially clean but it falls far behind ampkit in both variety and features. Great 4 track recorder, awesome app, I'd buy peavy link though..Version: 0

Much better than I first thoughtI submitted a review earlier reporting problems with in-app purchasing. My initial download of the upgrade stalled & I recycled my iPhone power... Once it installed & I tried an in-app purchase it said I must first purchase the app (I had a paid previously purchased version). After deleting and reinstalling I had problems connecting to the app store for in-app purchasing but now I think the WI-FI at my work had something to do with it: once I connected over my home wireless router in-app purchasing worked fine & I got theme recorder, compressor, limiter & reverb. I am just starting to explore the new features & so far am quite impressed!.Version: 0

A must for any guitarist!First up, im a long time Amplitube user on PC, its the business. How does it transfer to iPhone? Well, it does a pretty decent job. Actually, it does a damned good job. My Gear: iPhone 3GS, with Les Paul Std, Customised (Seymour Duncan '51 - neck / Norton Air - Bridge) First advice, dont rush to buy the iRig direct from IKMultimedia.. shop around. I found one locally, just delivered/distributed to a well known Brisbane musicians store, which was much cheaper than what it would have cost me to order it direct. I paid $45 for the unit, then paid for the full Amplitube iPhone version and I have to say, that as a "lightweight" version of the pc version, the iphone version is great. I can trot around the house, with my phone in my pocket and earphones on, content and rocking hard in my own little cocoon. All the stomps are well represented. Most do a decent job, tho a decent compressor would be nice.. Latency? None. Im using it on the low setting, and there is zero perceptible lag. No need for ultra-low for me. Many people have raved about the tone characteristics of A'tube on iPhone, but this would be the one area that i have a slight grievence with.. its maybe not just as bright as id like it to be. Its got a full sound, dont get me wrong, but its just a little damp, if you can understand what im trying to get across. However, these small issues aside, PLEASE, if you are a guitarist, you realy, really should not overlook this. This will be the best app you can download for your iPhone. All in, i paid $45 for iRig, and $24 for app, but i also had to buy a needle file to make the earphone socket on my iPhone case wide enough to fully seat the iRig jack. When i first got it, i thought it didnt work, but the problem was that the plug was just not fully inserted to the socket. Bear this in mind when you buy. You might need to get manual on your phone case. Trivial tho. Rock on..Version: 0

Great guitar app! This is the guitar app that does it right. IK are innovators on Mac and PC for amp sims and now innovate on iPhone. Nicely done. The amps, cabinets, microphones, and effects sound great. It is hard to believe these tones can be achieved on such a small device. I have had no issues with the software, aside from playing with it too much. I’ve imported my own dry guitar tracks using the trick of importing then holding down the play button until the timer turns gray. That’s very cool! That lets people like me who record on our computer a lot bring tracks over to audition. This just simply ROCKS!.Version: 0

Works well but not perfect.Nice interface and easy to use. I can finally play when the kid is sleeping and not get the stink eye from my wife. Having the noise filter on is a must so you really can only use 2 effects pedals at a time. Not a huge deal but a fourth pedal slot would be nice. Certainly not as good as using a real pedal but hey, I can play my guitar through my fricken cell phone! Needs multitasking support so I can record using effects on 4-track app. Nice job can't wait for updates!.Version: 0

Very GoodBrought the iRig and Amplitube full version for the iphone and have been very impressed. I'm a beginner so wanted a fairly cheap way of adding some different sounds/effects to my playing. There is a good selection of pedals provided along with some good amps. My favourite feature is the ability to load songs out of your ipod into the app, slow the tempo of the song and play along. You can also record yourself playing which is brilliant for beginners like myself (and quite entertaining as often it sounds terrible!!!). I do find switching between the pedals a bit fiddly on the iphone (prob not an issue on iPad) and the Wah pedal is unusable whilst playing, though if anyone has figured out a way of using this whilst play please let me know. Also had to buy an additional lead to connect the iRig to my amp which I wasn't aware of before buying the iRig..Version: 2.0.2

Lots of fun, but not perfectFun and good modeling: Amplitube for iPhone is a ton of fun. A great purchase for the price (along with an iRig adaptor) for any guitar-playing iPhone user. Awesome for practicing and for after the kids have gone to bed. Modeling is very good – although probably doesn't replace using a guitar with real pedals and amps, but still sounded good in most cases. Occasional "gap": I've got a 3G iPhone, and it may just be because of the slower processor, but every once in a while, the effects will have a very brief gap. This can happen when just using a couple combined effects, but was especially noticeable on the Octave pedal. Like I said, it's occasional and didn't detract much from my enjoyment of using the app, but it could be a problem if you wanted to perform with it. Requested feature: If you've ever had your iPhone by a set of speakers, you know the noise it can cause while it's pushing email and checking for messages. The same thing will happen while you're playing unless you first turn Airplane Mode on in your Settings. It would be great if Amplitube could automatically turn Airplane Mode on. Worst feature: The Wah pedal is a real stinker. Nearly impossible to control while you're playing, and even if you could, there is a very noticeable "stepping" sound in the effect. Even with it's few negatives it's still really cool. I definitely recommend it..Version: 0

Love and PerfectI’ve not had a more perfect rig in my life. (For me) Amplitube iOS works exactly as advertised. But it wasn’t until I started using Amplitube iOS with IK Multimedia’s iRig Stomp I/O that things really took off. ANY and ALL reservations about Amplitube iOS have been erased since using it LIVE. I had a few concerns about latency — which is MUCH LOWER than every other iOS amp modeler — which were COMPLETELY ERASED using it a gigs and rehearsals. Also, having the option to turn amp cabs on or off gives me huge flexibility in shaping the final sound. I run Amplitube iOS on a 6th generation iPad through a couple Tech21 Power Engine 60s. This is the first time in almost 40 years of playing, that I’ve been 100% happy with my sound. Re-amping is a joy. My recordings are sounding dope. Everything else in my life might be turning to sh%#... but my guitar tone and rig are that bucket of gold at the end of the rainbow. I’ve finally caught the leprechaun!!!! Thanks IK!!.Version: 4.7.0

More than expectedThis application was the one I wanted for Christmas. After I got the irig I booted up my amplitube and played for ages. It's fluid to play with and has endless possibilities with presets to save and recordings to make. All the effects are great quality, and hardly any fuzz or feedback! Great sound quality and exceeded expectations. I only gave four stars because sometimes not all the effects are available, but an easy fix by changing initial presets. Other than that it's a five star app. Go get it and have a jam!.Version: 2.0.2

Awesome but slash presets let down! The overall package is awesome I've been playin more often just due to the convenience of this app. But after forking out another $13.99 for the slash presets I was a bit disappointed! They just don't sound great. You end up having to tweak them all beyond recognition but fender presets are all good!.Version: 2.5

Very good!Unlike some reviews below, I bought this purely to practice (read: mess around) on as a handy and easy way to plug in anywhere. I like it and have had a lot of fun with the presets and setting up of effects and amps etc. Some of the comments about the hiss are reasonable but a bit of tweaking of levels etc can sort it out and generally this gives you a lot of versatility to play with. I've only used it with headphones so far and I usually play through a jcm 800 live/studio so I don't see it as a professional tool but expect to get some good ideas for sounds and set ups. I hope Ik Multimedia treat those who have commited to the full version with respect with new effects/amps etc. upgrades? If they do this will get another star! Enjoy..Version: 0

Works great!Works great on my newer iPad with the I/O stomp. Sounds are sweet. Highly recommend. I bought a package with lots of effects which makes it great. Prefer it over my Boss GT10!.Version: 4.11.0

Fantastic app! Everything they said it would be.I thought it would take a few thousand bucks to get my hands on all those amps and stomps I'd always wanted. Then along comes this app and I'm thinking, is this for real? I went through all the reviews and most of them seemed to know what they were talking about. So .. time to take the plunge .. And I must say: this app is everything they said it would be, and more! Fantastic! I can finally get those sounds I'd always dreamed of. I downloaded the Amplitube, plus the Fender package, plus all the other stomps. Worth every dollar spent. I've played it with earplugs, headphones, mixing phones. I've even connected the iPhone (3GS) to my amp's guitar input. Perfect wailing sound! Bottomline: Why, oh why, didn't I discover this before?.Version: 2.1

Much better quality than an amp at the same priceToo many people having problems with the tone and that os unfair to the app. Different guitars have different pickup output, so you need to set up the input and output levels in the settings menu to make sure that neither of them go into clipping. After that you can get anything from the clearest tone to the heaviest distortion. However too much gain results into oscillations which even the noise gate can't stop. I would recommend the developers putting more tutorials as most people can't be bothered to understand and tackle the issues, which is fair enough. My only issue is with the irig connector. There's a bad connection inside or in the cable (i think) and depending how it is placed, it doesn't make a connection. Discussing it with a friend of mine, who is a musician, sound quality is much better than a modeling amp for twice the price (including the irig connector). The sound also depends on what you connect it to - it's ok on pc speakers, but sounds so much better through a 50w stereo amp with big speakers. Basically the cleaner your power amp is, the better the app will sound..Version: 2.2.2

Distortion with clean sounds...I had this problem using the PRS cable however it seems fine if you spend another £30 on iRig. A great tool even though it's not cheap..Version: 2.1

Amplitube = awesomeLooks great. Can't wait till my irig arrives to try it. I bought this cause I use stealth plug which has my perfect Bass sound. Let's hope hey. Song downloading seems silly I can't use the many songs on my iPhone? Must be a good reason. Pitch control would be nice. Maybe Version 2?.Version: 0

Despite the poor reviewsI've been using this app for 2 years now and I think for what it is, it's fantastic, sounds great, yes there may have been an update issue, but they resolved it. I don't know why people are boycotting ik multimedia, they make fantastic computer and iPhone audio software. If you're expecting it to sound better than your amp then you may be disappointed as its not meant to replace your amp setup, it's meant to be used when amp isn't available..Version: 2.8.1

All this on my phone!!!Tried the free version with my irig, liked it, downloaded the full version and the 4-track, and having spent a few hours with it, can safely say many more days will go the same way. Yes it cost me £18 plus the irig (about £40 total outlay), yes there's a bit of noise, yes the sounds are mostly good but some are better than others- but it's the overall package that impresses. Intuitive, fun to run 'what ifs' on, and just great for getting ideas down with minimal prep. I'm using it on a 3GS- no crashes so far, all seems good to me. Just took a bit of time to get to know it. I also use a guitar with quite low output pickups and set the input level a bit higher- nicely responsive. Still can't believe I've got all this on my phone! Excellent fun for the money..Version: 2.2.1

Awesome app!!!!As guitar lover to another I will say that this is the greatest thing to slice bread or the light bulb. Great for late night jamming or traveling by bus if you have a guitar and an iPhone u MUST have this. And u can plug ur irgi to a real amp with an adaptor to have a loud jam session.Version: 0

Amplitube for IphoneMy amp was broken since 4 month and i wanted to buy a big new one when i saw this. I paid 90$ for the iRig and 20$ to have the full version. This is amazing! Considering the fact that an amp can cost around 300$ for a cheap one and a pedal cost around 150$ this is the best deal ever! If you love to recreate sound from a track with lots of effects buy this! This are my few suggestion on what should be add: Multitasking --> to be able to listen to song and play at the same time; and being able to open Tabtoolkit while playing. A new iRig with another entry to be able to plug a mic for singers. Being able to name your presets And finally, a 4th pedal slot would be appreciated. Buy this now before the price gets higher or before 2012! <---- :P.Version: 0

AmpmanPhwoar!! Love this app. I'm no guitar legend but when I use this app I sound awesome! One bug, it crashes when importing and converting songs still..Version: 2.7

SupremeOf all the guitar amp apps, this is by far my favorite one. Excellent tones, it really sounds noticeably better than the others. I like the song practicing functionality, except I don't get why songs have to be imported and converted from the AACs in the iTunes library. I purchased the complete Fender pack, and it really sounds great, too. It does a lot for me that they managed to get Fender's seal of approval for this. It just feels better to play a Fender Twin Reverb than a "Blackface" or "American Clean". Are you listening Agile/Peavey and Line 6? Btw I use a Peavey Ampkit Link to connect my guitar, but the app that is marketed to go along with it was somewhat of a disappointment tone wise. I'm glad I found AmpliTube instead..Version: 2.0.3

So far so goodSo far so good. Only spent an hour so far. Graphically looks great. Lots of features packed into it. Obviously doesn't compare to a real pedal but for 20 bucks you can't complain. Haven't tried it with an amplifier yet. Makes you want to buy the iPad though for more screen real estate. The only flaw right now is that it crashes after you add a preset but I'm sure the next update will fix it. And I wished you could name the preset as well to make it easier to find. Just wished I didn't have to pay so much for shipping for the iRig. Kind of makes it expensive for a piece of plastic after that..Version: 0

Haters are way offI'm stunned at the number of negative reviews here. Maybe the reason there are so few reviews is that the rest of us are too busy enjoying ourselves rocking out with this app that we can't be bothered to post a review. Yes, there are in-app purchases. Did you expect great models of name-brand amps/fx for FREE? I've used this at rehearsals and have it handy (with my Blueboard controller) with me as a last-ditch backup for gigs (I play at least 150 club/private/wedding gigs a year). I'd use it live if I needed to. The amp sims are definitely faithful to the originals I've played through. I didn't not understand all the hate here....Version: 4.3.0

AwesomeExcellent amp fx simulator with an intuitive interface. I'm using this with the Ampkit Link interface which is a superior piece of kit to IK Multimedia's hardware , iRig. I also have the free version of Ampkit but chose Amplitube mainly because of the low latency option and the easier method of saving and switching between presets. IK Multimedia's experience in DSP processing was a winner too. One missing feature, which is in Ampkit , would be a count in for the recorder and a more customizable metronome. More crucially both apps could do with some way of using a foot pedal to switch between presets or control fx parameters ; making live use a reality. There are several apps out there which use Midi Mobilizer to receive program changes so this could be made possible now the SDK is available. I have had none of the feedback / noise issues or crashes reported here. Top marks to IK for a great app. Crank it up and kick out the jams !..Version: 0

Next best thing to a vintage ampI have been using various versions of AmpliTube but I’m a Fender guy to my core. Love the blackface amps and the ‘65 Super Reverb is lush, glassy, chimy, everything you want in a vintage Fender without the risk of pithing off the neighbors. And at a fraction of the cost of a real amp..Version: 4.14.1

Good, but the opening page is annoyingI like the app from a sound point of view. The effects are great and I like the layout on screen. BUT, I have the fully paid version, and I still get the ads for other products. This is really annoying, actually, it's downright unacceptable. Lose the ads for iRig (I already have it !!!) and all the other products from the fully paid version..Version: 2.2.2

Not bad at all, but PRICEY!!!OK, Don't think for a second just because you buy the Full version you get EVERYTHING! You get most of it, but not all. YEESH! These guys'll nickel and dime you to death. Having said that ... it's nice being able ot sit down, plug-in to your iPod and practice away! Pros: Ease and convenience of being able to practice while plugged into your iPod. Portability, recording, and playing along with your favorite songs!!! SWEET!! Cons: You know it, PRICE!! The iRig is 30 bucks give or take, then 20 bucks for the app, then 3 bucks for this and that, 5 bucks for ... JEEZ!! Tones are pretty sterile, but get it done, I guess. Eh, so-so. the effects are alright, but nothing worth bragging about. My advise: Having done it, get the LE version and start buying what you NEED to practice! Don't you DARE expect this is an alternative to a $3000 rig, pal! Obviously. In conclusion, it's a practice tool and THAT'S IT! But a pretty convenient one at that! Things I hope they improve on - TONE! Include everything in the Full version!! Multitasking. Little better noise cancellation. Tough for us Metal heads who have EMG's! lol, luckily I have non-active pups guitars, too! I truly hope they keep this app improving!!! If so ... yep, I'll keep sinking money into it! Good job IK!! I'm using an iPod 3rd gen with an iRig..Version: 2.0.1

Versatility in your pocketHave been using this with both bass and lead guitar in rehearsals for a stage musical. Very versatile, can create custom presets and save them for specific show numbers. Takes up next to no room when space is at a premium in the pit. Well worth it..Version: 2.9.6

Top draw, but...Can't fault the app, great sound for headphone use and practise and the 4 track both useful and user intuitive. My only 2 small 'issues' are that once everything has been purchased (or even just the 4-track and a couple of pedals) the bank may have taken a bit of a dent! 2nd, having purchased the iPhone version before I bought my iPad, I now have to run the iPhone app on my iPad because I refuse to pay for the same software AGAIN just to have it fit a bigger screen! Making it universal for no extra cost only seems fair to me! It's not like its Angry Birds and only costs 69p, we're talking £30-40+. Shame..Version: 2.9

Vai I wishLooking for an easier alternative to setting all my gear up at home for practising this is the app to have. Rehearsing at home is now easy, convenient and portable with very little effort. Don't get me wrong, this ain't no substitute for your best live gear by far but for easy practising at home it's ace. I now don't have to get and connect all my gear up just to practice which is good by me. A few tweaks needed sound wise and I'd give it 5 stars Just don't expect to hear your fav guitar sounds comin out cos you ain't gonna get it but there again compare £40 (inc iRig adapter) to £2000 worth of amps and processors and what do you expect.Version: 0

Good sounds, wish the songs importing feature would work betterI think overall this is a great app. The default clean sound is good, actually it's very good. The defaut effects are OK. Nothing spectacular but OK. I'm not super impressed by the default distortions on offer, but I bought the Supersonic Fender amp modeler and the T-Rex overdrive and they sound pretty good, much better than the basic ones. I'm sure the Slash Marshalls are good too. Really, this app can't really disappoint. It's not the real thing of course, so if you expect that this will replace your Fender and Soldano amps and all your effects rack you'll be disappointed, but it's not because of the app, it was just because you were being unreasonable! My only problem with it is the importing of songs from the iPod library, which is to me one of the most essential features of the app because I have a lot of mp3 backing tracks I made to practice on. It's a bit buggy and usually crashes when I try to import a song. I eventually managed to import some but it was a struggle, so because that needs improvement I only gave it 4 stars... however, know that IK Multimedia support is very responsive and they'll work hard with you to try to resolve your issues. That's a HUGE plus....Version: 2.7

Extremely impressedHave had the full version 5 days now and have been so busy playing, only just got round to rating it! I was sceptical about it's usability as I am a bass player, but it is a great practice aid and I can't fault it! Well done. Ps a compressor would be a welcome update.Version: 0

👌👌👌This is amazing, I can play bass anywhere I please with a whole list of tools at my disposal. I keep my iRig 2 in an old glasses case and bring my gear over to my girlfriends when we're having a quiet night. I don't think I've ever spent better money. The practice I can get in to each day now is phenomenal. Thank you IK.Version: 4.1.1

More pleaseGreat loving this app - sounds great, good selection of effects. If only ik multimedia could now make iPhone versions of the amplitube fender product....Version: 0

Does it ALL!Not sure about all the gripes here. I've been waiting and waiting for an app that records mulit-tracks WITH guitar effects. Finally, there is one! Not only that, it now imports and exports to itunes from WITHIN the phone. It also now has song effects. You can use the built in mic for vocals and acoustic instruments. There is a phrase looper and a slow player (though the slow player has been buggy for me). It's a gorgeous interface. I can sit down with my little travel electric on the couch or in the car and have a full electric guitar studio fest. I mean, come on... Make sure to get an iRig (or some guitar/phone interface)! I also love the iRig, but have only tired that one. It's small and efficient with great sound. Show me any other app that records tracks with effects and I might entertain a complaint. Until then, thanks for this app!!!!!.Version: 2.0.2

How things have changesI haven't played my electric for years, it's a real drag to pull out the amp, cord, pedals, and play on my own. Amplitube is a revelation, freeing me to play along with backing tracks as loud as I want without annoying the neighbours. However, plug it into an amp and the sound, it's incredible! I can mimic all my favorite guitarists and their hits while playing through my phone. Amazing. The trick to getting rid of all the noise BTW is to shut down all the apps running in the background. That does the trick everytime. I'd give the app 5 stars if I could but the nickel and diming for the add ons annoy me..Version: 2.2

This is brilliant.I got this app as I brought the i-Rig from IK and it is just amazing. The tones I can get out of it is awesome. Couple this up with the fact that it is portable makes it worth every penny. I just take my guitar and iphone with me! I have a really nice metal setting as well for them heavy riffs I like to play! I have read a review of someone saying that the app crashes all the time, I have not had any troubles with this what so ever. Has worked great in the low latency mode (even in just low latency mode I can't cant notice it at all), and no crashes or freezing up. Maybe they need to reset their phones? Im not sure. I had a 3G with iOS4 and it worked brilliant. I now have just got an iPhone 4 and it still works amazing. If your a guitarist this is a must buy!.Version: 0

Very happy indeedI received my iRig the other day, purchased the paid version and started worrying when reading the mixed reviews afterwards. Then I plugged it in and could only get a straight guitar tone. No amp variances and no effects. But I could tune, hear metronome and hear samples??? Then I remember reading that someone had to delete the app and re install it so I gave that a go. And bobs your uncle, I was in business. And what a sound it is! Great all round. No noise and great effects, I can't wait to give it a go through an amp! I can't really understand all the complainers on here at all??? I have a lower end guitar, cheap leads and the thing sounds great! I have around 12 stomp boxes myself and some of the sounds I have been getting on this app put them to shame. Especially the fact it is going through my phone! Very happy indeed..Version: 2.2.2

Really good but expensiveI was skeptical about having to buy the adapter for this to work but it is well worth it. The price may be a bit steep for the hardware and software but its really good for just playing with when i cant be bothered to setup my amp and pedals i havent really experienced and problems with it apart from the fact its a bit of a hastle to get it coming out of some loud speakers but it sounds fine through headphones its not very good if you intend on playing it of speakers or amps because it just doesnt sound as crisp as it does through headphones its a good app but to expensive for what it is but if you dont mind flogging put on the full version its a good buy..Version: 0

It's amazing100% recommendation.Version: 4.4.0

Just really coolThis is why I love the iPhone. A F@&$ing guitar amp on my phone. So far it is working great. I love the effects, different amp styles, and mics. The built in recorder is nice, though I have not purchased the four-track yet. The only issue I find is with the Export. You have to load the file first, exit back to the list of recordings, then export. Once I figured this out, I got used to it. I use this app as a "sketch book" of sorts for guitar playing. I wouldn't use it to record an album, but it is perfect for remembering that new idea for a song and providing well above average sound quality...anywhere I am. Highly recommend this app..Version: 2.0.3

New Update ROCKS!Lots of improvements in the new update! Love the recorder, access to iPod library and file sharing. I'm gonna purchase the full multi-track recorder and the compressor or limiter for recording clean guitar and bass tracks. Next on my wish-list would be a multi-track waveform view with editing capabilities, a metronome/click track that runs parallel with the multi-tracks during recording (to sync intros), and some more bass amp selections. Keep up the great work at IK Multimedia! Add to features: an option to add an mp3 file to AmpliTube's songs from an email..Version: 0

What are you all moaning aboutMust have app for all guitarists saves me carrying my amp around works and sounds great on iPod touch 3erd gen had it from the start had to order irig from USA and love the update good job guys. P.S this is the only review I have bothered to write so it must be good.Version: 0

Better than I expectedI bought the iRig and the Amplitube app, Amplitube is less noisy, has good sound quality, and the song interface is superior in that you have full control of the song, levels, and can loop a section when trying to learn a difficult part. The Amplitube app shines for noodling around and learning songs - it's worth the money for nothing more than that. It's not studio quality but for what it is, it's pretty cool. The guitar I've been using with it is a '91 Fender Strat Ultra with lace sensor pickups - so I expect most of the noise is probably coming from crosstalk in the iPhone - and it's much worse with the USB power connected. Either way, it’s not unbearable..Version: 2.0.3

Really impressiveI purchased this as an amusement really but quickly found it has considerable more to offer. The modelling for the amps is better than my POD and my friends Line 6. The effects are very good, easy to set. We have used it recording with ProTools now for two writing sessions and it works great. iPad interface would of course be a bit easier but once you get your sounds stored in presets it really couldnt be easier. Nobody is going to trade in thier "real" rig for Amplitube but man this is really close! You can't go wrong buying this if you do a lot of home recording or just like to practice on the go..Version: 0

Rockin' All Over The iPhoneAfter reading the website and other user reviews, I decided to download the full version and buy the iRig adapter! So far I haven't yet received the iRig that is why only 4 stars, but this app is already very good just using the demo presets! I will update this once I have tried out with iRig.Version: 0

BrilliantThis is by far the best product I have ever bought! I have a professional recording studio in my pocket..Version: 3.3.1

Simply awesomeThis app is quite the bundle of many great things. Thankfully, I got this app when it was on sale, so five bucks more for in-app stuff. :D • The amount of pedals you get is amazing. A single real one costs more than the app, the iRig, plus the in-app pedals. On top of that, you get a recording station, amps, tuner, metronome and other things. • The sound quality is astonishing. Pretty close to the real things. Of course it's going to sound a little electronic, but if you can't beat the real thing, at least get close. And it is. • The music player is an app in itself. Half the reason people play guitar is to jam along with their favourite artists. So, you can. Not everyone can play their favourite song at speed at first. So just slow it down. Want a challenge? Speed it up. Damn vocalists getting annoying? Shut them up. The 'no voice' feature is hit and miss, it may reduce the sound quality, or it may perform as expected. First song I tried it on, it was like magic. The others not so much. Still pretty amazing though. • Price too high? Shut up, you bought a $300 dollar device, 20 bucks is nothing. Overall, great app for any guitarist..Version: 2.2.2

Great appPersonally i can't relate to the comments about it being too noisy, to a lot of those ppl I would like to know if they have ever played through a tube amp?? But I digress, tone is what its all about and the tone produced from this app is insane considering the platform! The recorder is great and the noise gate seems to effect the tone a lot less now. This app is seriously a must buy if you are a guitarist, end of story. I've tried the main competitor and whilst it's a valid option I just don't think it competes tone wise. Plus u gotta love the close up interface of amplitube:) why are u still reading this?? Go buy this app now!.Version: 0

MrWell, it costed me $27 for iRig and $23 for software. Clean sounds are ok, distortions are far, far away from anything commercially usable (live gig or recording). Not flexible application (cannot freely set amplifier and stomps in any combination). Once when initial setting is completed, it is nice little guitar practice software but nothing more than that. I guess for $50 investment, it would be crazy to expect anything more than that..Version: 2.2.2

JohnoLove this app, sounds good on iphone4 and5 but noisier on my ipad3. It's possible to record good quality backing tracks to play or sing along with. Loads of amps and effects and more to purchase. Please, please give us auto punch in on recording cos guitarists need both hands to play. 5 stars when those 2 problems are sorted..Version: 2.7

I can't believe how great this app isI've used amplitube for demos and recording in the past, so I was expecting good things, but Amplitube for the iphone + the iRig really blew me away. With a minimum of fuss, I can sit anywhere and rock out on the guitar. It isn't perfect, but hey, its running on an iphone! What I love: 1. Great sounds, capable of screaming metal, lovely clean and everything in between 2. Playing along with a song is great, and easy to transfer from the computer 3. User interface is smooth and everything works great. The not so good: 1. Playing while plugged into USB is noisy - fair enough, and battery life seems ok while running the app, but no extended sessions while charging for me. 2. As far as I can tell, there is no way to plug your guitar in and listen through the iphone speaker. 3. The occasional pop and crackle. Overall the quality is FAR beyond what I ever thought possible. It is working on a freaking phone! I just can't get over the fact that I can sit down with my phone+guitar and rock out / practise. The future has arrived!.Version: 0

True MultitaskingAmplitube on iPod Touch 4th Gen using iRig. With Amplitube 2.0 I can now leave the app running in the background and read a pdf of music to play or learn from while still getting a good process of my guitar input through the app. Maybe there is a slight increase in noise when working as a background app. Since the update I am very impressed, many good improvements especially with the presets, annoying volume message gone, and recording. I will be using this as my primary guitar-amp modelling app on the go. (Sorry Ampkit, I look forward to your updates) I may even splash out on the 4-track, wish it had been included. My only hope for later updates is more control of the metronome, it is too loud. Well done IK.Version: 0

Not half badI've had this app for a while, despite it requiring the lead, which is about £20 if I remember rightly, it's well worth the money. It's literally hundreds of pounds worth of pedals at your disposal. Not sure if you could gig with it because I'm nowhere near good enough to know, but it sure is fun! Easy to use and regular updates, if you're thinking about buying it then I have no reasons to suggest otherwise..Version: 3.3.1

It's even more amazing now!I have no idea what people are doing wrong, but I agree with Daniel this is a brilliant app. And version 2 is a huge improvement in both sound quality and features. To get anything like this on a PC would cost far more. The clean fender amp sounded good before with a Strat but it now sounds incredible. The AC30 is now useable and is very convincing to an owner of several 60s AC30s. I do think that the Peavey iLink is better hardware than the iRig however: much better feedback control. I am waiting for them to produce a Leslie effect and I'll be in paradise. By the way those who 'can't close the app' need to learn to double click the bottom button, touch any of the icons for a couple of seconds until the red circles with minus signs appear then touch the circles to close all running apps. The fact it keeps running is a bonus as mentioned in another review below..Version: 0

Amplitube + Apogee Jam = WinI've had this app for well over a year but never cared a whole lot for it (always buy up all the pedals during sales). Recently they've stepped their game up pretty nice, they finally offer metal effects that I've been waiting for since release and support for the 30 pin connector. This combined with my iPad and speaker dock has become a force to be reckoned with. While my dock isn't loud enough for a live show, it does great for small jams with friends entire rig fits right in my back pack). Just be aware that they sell the iPad app separately though. (I own both and it can get pretty pricey without sales going on).Version: 2.7

Key ingredient missing...Amplitube for iPad has a host of really great features... And one glaring omission. Let's start with the good: First off, let me say that I am a huge fan IK Multimedia... I am a professional musician, and own several of their products and apps including the full version of Amplitube 3 for My PC, which I use live, and is unbelievably awesome!! The iOS version of Amplitube shares many of these features... Namely, the authentically modeled tones of iconic amps and effects. (Though arguably, not as detailed or precise as the PC version) Second, the outstanding user interface that feels instantly familiar to anyone that's even played guitar... Now for my one complaint... No post-amplifier effects! Every other comparable guitar amp app out there allows you to place effects after your amp. Even the ones that in my opinion sound and look dreadful, allow this... except Amplitube. This renders effects such chorus, delay, flangers, etc. unusable with a heavily overdriven amp. These effects generally belong after the amp..Version: 3.4

A fantastic app and hardware comboThis is a muso's dream. Unbelievable value, and amazingly simple and fun to use! I just love it and cannot speak highly enough of what IK Multimedia have produced. The demos are great for refining your sounds - pick one of the 7 or 8 looped demos and then fiddle with all the different stomp box and speaker/mic combos to create really useable sounds that are equally great for jamming, playing live and even recording - yes, I believe it is that good. Initially I was a little bit disappointed when I heard the presents - some of the distortion sounds seemed a bit tinny, but once I got the hang of using it (especially with the demo loop mode), it exceeded my expectations. I honestly can't fault it. I'm using it with an 09 Gibson Les Paul Standard (Ebony) and it rocks hard. Creating custom tones and saving them as presets is just so simple. No need for manuals and the like - just what most blokes love. I can't wait to see what they do with it over time - an iPad specific version would be great. The ability to purchase more effects down the track as they are developed is also a bonus. When you think of how much all these effects would cost as standalone units it is chicken feed. Don't hesitate - you won't regret it. And it is just another one of the brilliant things that you can now do on the iPhone. Stupendous..Version: 0

Compared to other daws and amp simsThis is really cheap for what you get if you add all the different tools, pedals, amps, etc,. I love it and yes... please be mindful that you have to unlock/pay for a lot of items to have access on all that is on the app, but the value is incredible... also have a updated/newer iPhone as old phones can’t process what is needed and you will have tracks not lined up or even cutting out. Best to buy the bundles of everything included after you decide to invest, costs more but you won’t get nickel and dimed along the way when you want something else on the app!.Version: 4.11.0

Great updateThe addition of a four track recorder takes this app head and shoulders above the rest. It's a simple but powerful tool that has clearly been designed by people who play guitar. The audio quality is greatly improved in version 2 and when you consider it's all being done on an iPhone it's pretty amazing. Looking forward to seeing where it goes next..Version: 0
