✓ Nice idea, terrible implementationI'd hoped to use this app to geo-tag photos taken with an Elph 330. You're supposed to get the app to log location as you wander around taking photos. Then later, connect the iPhone and camera over WiFi and tag the photos (using time stamps to sync the GPS log with the photos). Nice idea. But the app has to remain open in the foreground. If the iPhone sleeps or you lock the screen, the app stops logging. Even on an iPhone 5S with the M7 co-processor. That makes it totally useless. Canon makes nice cameras, but their iOS acumen leaves much to be desired..Version: 1.4.0.26

✓ It sort of works - moreCanon might produce great cameras but they seem to have no idea how to commission decent software. On an iPad this is a clunky, terminally slow app that does not even allow its opening screen to run in landscape. Once, after an age of fiddling with the camera, and another age for it to connect, there is a window that allows you to view the snaps as thumbnails or individually that is your lot unless you save a picture. Imagination utterly lacking. The above said, the PC apps are even worse. And the response from Canon support when seeking help was extremely disappointing. They told me it "It could be a software compatibility with the iPad mini with Retina display. Only a couple of options available and disappointingly, not the one I need. I hoped to shoot remotely using my iphone4 but that box vanished. Why would I want to transfer an image to my phone when the compression makes if no better than if I'd taken it with my phone's camera? That's about the only thing this app will do. ✓ Flaky beyond belief, basically uselessTrying to transfer photos from an IXUS to iOS using this is consistently the worst technical user experience I have _ever_ had. It basically never works first time without either having to reboot camera or iPhone, or set up yet another ad-hoc network. It's flaky (forget about transferring more than 10 photos), hangs, it's slow to connect, it's counterintuitive, if your iPhone screen lock comes on the app restarts and kills the transfer (never mind about allowing multitasking). What it does not do is transfer videos from the camera to your iPhone, iPod or iPad - and that is not made clear by Canon. ✓ Works fine with ios8Yes, the app is basic, but it does work. You get full quality images transferred to you iphone or iPad provided you click into settings on the app and select "don't resize". The remote shooting option worked fine for me, as did viewing images from the camera and downloading images from the camera to my iPhone or iPad. The only annoyance for me so far is that to download images from the camera you have to do it one at a time - this really needs to be changed so that you can download all photos if you wish without having to individually select them, like you can with a computer..Version: 1.5.0.11

✓ "Device not found"This is the message that will become increasingly familiar as your iPhone fails time and time again to connect to your Canon camera. A woeful piece of app writing, that in combination with the Canon S110 makes a very poor substitute for the old "Placetagger" app that did the same thing reliably 2 years ago but is now sadly no longer available. Buy a second hand S100 with in-built GPS if you can find one and forget this and the S110 Given Canon have huge resource compared with the likes of 'placetagger' this is disappointing and a waste of time that can be measured in hours trying to 'pair' devices..Version: 1.2.0.18

✓ Canon = failed appsPreviously it was sometimes a challenge to connect the camera through this app, but when the connection was made the app worked. Now it is more difficult to connect through the app, and then the connection is lost after one or two pictures or often before any download. However, the new version of the app Canon wants you to use is more consistent; it has NEVER worked at all. Why does a company as big as Canon generate such poor apps and not do anything to fix them? I like the pictures my camera takes, but these failed apps prevent it from being a wi-fi camera. Until these apps are fixed Canon does not have any wi-fi cameras..Version: 1.5.1

I also have a 70D for which I use the EOS app without difficulty (so far). The Canon connect app apparently doesn't support the 700, but supports the 710. I certainly won't buy a new camera because you don't support the app, but if I am unable to use the feature for which I bought the camera, I certainly my reconsider my loyalty to Canon. ✓ Ain't bad but a feature is missing...It works as it should. There is only ONE thing that annoys me. I used to work with an EyeFi card that makes my camera wifi. Just changed to an S120 that doesn't support the EyeFi and so I switched to CameraWindow. The biggest difference between the two is that the EyeFi KNOWS which photos were already transferred and which weren't. When you launch the app, it only transfers those new photos. CameraWindow doesn't do that, you have to MANUALLY select all the new photos you want to transfer... If you took a lot a photo during the day, transferring them is a real pain. This really needs to be implemented by Canon..Version: 1.4.0.26

✓ No RAW Capture!I am using CameraWindow to shoot remotely with a G7X, and I just discovered that even though I have the camera set to capture RAW images, CameraWindow forces it to capture only JPGs. To add insult to injury, it saves them at the fine setting, even though I have the compression level for JPGs set to superfine. Nowhere in the camera manual or on Canon’s website does it say anything about not saving RAW images (all it says is that the camera shoots in P mode when using CameraWindow for remote shooting). ✓ Needs a lot of work...I bought two Canon cameras thinking I would be able to get quality images transferred to my iPad wirelessly. The good news is that you can... The bad news is that the images get hugely compressed and there is nothing you can do about it. Sure, you can select "don't resize" to mitigate the problem, but the images still get compressed. To give you an idea, in my case, 4MB images are compressed to about 200kB... An option to keep full image quality is essential!!! Perhaps the developers could think of applications beyond social media on this one... Oh, and to work with iOS 8 would also be helpful!.Version: 1.5.0.11

✓ Not as good as EOS AppFirst - anyone looking to use this with an EOS camera - use the EOS app for your 60Ds, 70Ds, 7Ds and other EOS cameras. Problem with this app is that it's not nearly half as good as the EOS app. It will work with most S and G series cameras, but the worst part if you want to use it with a G7X for example - it does not support RAW files. ✓ App worksApp ok.. Most complicated th gd is to get it to link to ur iPhone. Not apparent, but first u link do is press phone button on camera, this gives u the wifi name of the camera. ✓ What happened!I've been happily showing off my new canon camera and app for months. It has been so good to instantly share photos or videos. You can send them individually or in bulk. All good until.. One day I opened the app and it couldn't connect to my camera and my camera was waiting for the phone to find it. The next time I opened the app it was blank- all the commands had gone and I'm just faced with a green screen. I don't know how I can fix this and now my new camera is only as good as my old one as I have to get it to a PC to share photos. ✓ DisappointingBought a new canon cam as it was described as wifi compatible. App worked on the first day, hasn't worked since. Got camera replaced, but still won't work. Doesn't work on iPhone 5, iPad 2 or laptop. I have been advised there is a problem with the app. Really expected a lot more from Canon, can't really advertise as wifi compatible if the app doesn't work so can't transfer pics/vids.
