✓ Does not work offline as statedReally unhappy because I purchased the world maps and tried to get route guidance while offline but got repeated alerts asking to establish internet connection so in fact the app does NOT "work completely offline" as stated in the description. The maps do appear to download and I guess some people are happy with how this app works for them but I barely made it to my destination. Please update so that it truly does work completely offline and I'll be happy to change my rating. Requesting a refund from Apple is too cumbersome..Version: 3.0.1
✓ File sizes too large!UK map is now 1.3 GB up from a mere 500MB! If this is a glitch, please fix, as Uk is a small country and roads there dont change often. Otherwise, too big for my iPad. :-(.Version: 3.3.1

✓ AbandonwarePocketEarth was superb for a long time, and the app is still functional, but OSM updates are now very infrequent, app updates are incredibly rare, and GeoMagik's support forum is totally abandoned to spam. RIP..Version: 3.8.4

✓ Can't really be used offlineI thought this would be the solution for getting around while out of the country without paying foreign data rates. It's not. You can't do something as basic as get a route to a landmark without being online. I was left clumsily trying to drive while repeatedly looking down at my screen to see where on the map I am since I couldn't plan a route or get turn by turn directions without being online even though the full map had been downloaded to my phone. ✓ Fantastic - but where are the track markings from?This app (pro version) I use constantly to drive my 4x4 7ton motorhome through Australia. But... Doesn't everyone has the hole Pro map covered with blue and red thick marked walking tracks and bus lines? They cover dead end roads and so many streets, that it's irritating. I use PE Pro on an Ipad2 with newest IOS. Is this a bug? Only on Ipad2? What can I do? I downloaded none Pro and no tracks marked there. Topo now 15$. ✓ Many great featuresTwo complaints in an otherwise solid app: (1) Minor roads only appear when you zoom pretty far in. They should be visibility at pretty much all zooms as very light lines (for example). (2) Road labels don’t appear on minor roads until you are zoomed way, way in. These are vector maps, so all the data is there at all zooms - the developer just chooses not to display it for us. Give us a switch/option to “show all roads”, for example - some of us would choose to have a busier map for certain applications, given that is has more information..Version: 3.5.1

✓ Truly awfulThis is a bad gps app. One of the worse I have ever used. Despite saying it works off-line. It will not route unless it has an internet connection. It will not correct or re-route it you go off course. Even with internet connection. Even if you go to the trouble to make and save your routes when you have internet. (A complete pain that no other gps app needs doing) if you miss the start of the route, it will not begin the route. These things are basic gps functionally and this app fails them all. It's POI are terrible. Unreadable. Out of date and unusable. It's interface is confusing and counterintuitive. There are much better topographical map apps that do not route but have much better map detail. And much much better routable gps Apps. That truly work offline. Reroute as required, have useable POI and better interfaces. Look elsewhere. I wasted my money. Don't make the same mistake..Version: 3.3.1

✓ Great for browsing maps useless for navigatingReview based on paid version The quality of the maps is fantastic with good detail including topographic contour lines. . This makes it a great app for browsing the map. But it’s a very poor gps navigating app. It requires online access whenever you deviate from the original route which makes it virtually useless outside mobile phone network coverage. It cannot display a 3D view Looking ahead like other gps navigations apps. Planning a route is also more painful than other navigating apps. In summary if you want to just browse and explore maps then this app is great. It’s also great as a flight tracker if you use it aboard an aircraft as the app displays speed and altitude. But if you want a dedicated true offline gps navigation app then get something like magic earth..Version: 3.8.3

✓ GPS doesn’t workThis app would be brilliant if the GPS worked offline… great topographical maps but no navigation. I used it for 3 months trekking in Italy and it was awful. It showed me where I was at the start of the day before I set out, then that was it. So disappointing.Version: 3.8.4
