The rewind ability adds a totally new element of strategy, not to mention all of the other little mechanics that they've managed to tie together. The more I play, the more interesting it becomes, which has not been my experience with most other infinite-run games. I've noticed a few other reviews complaining that the game requires you to buy cake (in-game currency) to keep playing, but I want to clarify that this is not true. Cake is only needed for purchasing optional bonuses, and you can collect it by playing. TL;DR: Awesome game. Ignore the haters..Version: 1.1

✓ The best time killerFirst off, paying for extra in game currency (cake) is an option, it is not required unless you want to but another costume or something, you are also charged certain amounts of "cake" if you want to play with a pet that provides bonuses. People who play with pets run out of money faster cause they don't know how to ride solo, they most likely jump right into the game. Second, tiny wings is definitely not better than this. I've played, and it it seems like a waste of money now. Don't get tiny wings. Finally, Overall the game is awesome, I love the costumes but it could use more!! Also more maps, and fairs. ✓ More than a Tiny Wings cloneLets get this out of the way; yes, Time Surfer shares a fairly major gameplay mechanic with Tiny Wings. You dive into curves to gain momentum and fly back into the air, all the while running away from the on rushing end of the universe (this games equivalent of Tiny Wing's sunset). But that's where the similarities, largely at least, end. The graphics are awesome. Richly detailed retro sprites with chunky old-school effects are densely plastered over a colourful sci-fi world. Things whizz past almost too fast and the music matches the visuals perfectly. In this way it is like Tiny Wings; they're both perfectly executed as fat as presentation is concerned. But Time Surfer is a far more involved game, less pure, true, but there's a lot more to think about. You need to avoid spikes, aliens and asteroids (the latter two items acting as speed and height boosts if you land on top of them). You pick up power ups and grind on the rings of planets (a feature that's delightfully absurd). There's only one way to lose in Tiny Wings but here you can fall into bottomless pits too! The time control mechanic is vitally important and, rather than deskilling the game, for me it adds a huge layer of extra fun and requires keen decision making. Is it worth using up precious time reversal power to retake that curve to gain a little extra speed? How far back do you need to go to alter your trajectory? Too little or too much and it's a waste of resources. Get it just right, however, and you can really improve your score. The difficulty ramps up nicely and it's a deeply satisfying play when you get into it. Time Surfer is amazing and deserves to be higher in the charts than it is. Buy it!.Version: 1.2.0

However, the game could be made better. Despite the enjoyability of the game in its current state, it proves overtly frustrating at times. After you reach a certain distance, the game shifts focus from “escape the end of the universe” to “avoid the godforsaken spikes”. Albeit, there is a solution to this! If a “zen” mode were to be introduced, in which there are not spikes, aliens, or asteroids every 2 seconds, the game would improve vastly. I am not calling for a simplified version of the pre-existing game mode, but rather a different, more tranquil game where all one attempts is to pick up speed and escape the end of the universe. This improvement would drastically enhance an already fun game, and would result in it remaining on my phone for many more years to come. ✓ BUY THIS NOW!Time Surfer is a fun on again off again app that eats up 1-10 minutes of your time throughout your day. I've gotten all the costumes I wanted already and just keep coming back because it's a very satisfying distraction. Time Surfer's gameplay is very similar to Tiny Wings for its endless hill riding mechanic. Thankfully there is enough new added to be different enough to pick up and enjoy if you have already have Tiny Wings. What's new here? The ability to rewind time to survive longer and correct your mistakes for one. There are also obstacles in place now that you need to pass/use to move forward. Making using the rewind is essential here for getting past some tricky areas. The course is completely randomly generated which adds an extra fun bit and spice to the game. If you want an insane challenge there is always the "Hell Zone" mode to try. Don't expect to get too far, it's just fun distraction in the game. It has in app purchases but you don't need them at all. This isn't pay to play, the IAP's are there if you just want to hurry up and get those awesome costumes ASAP. The game never pushes you to buy anything, nor punishes you for not buying.Version: 1.1

The graphics and music play a large part in the nostalgic playability; but the randomness of obstacles and the seeming inability to avoid them gets frustrating, as does having to “rewind” to the very beginning every time you die…from an obstacle you were propelled directly into and couldn’t avoid. The rewinding time feature is a mixed blessing—you will likely have a very limited window to save yourself and if you fail, yep—all the way back to square one. The “pets” are definitely mixed blessing, because you’ll likely die from the peril the pet you specifically picked CAN’T save you from, and now you’re down cake..Version: 1.5

✓ Good Game but...Well first off let me clear up what some people have been saying. You don't have to pay to play, however there is a feature in this game that uses cake as a currency. Whilst playing the game you are given the choice of picking new 'pets' which contain different abilities or power to help you but every time you take them into your game it will cost you between 10-50 'cake'. However I don't care for this system as it makes it feel more like a grind to get cake if you want to use the pets and get new characters. But at face value this game is a gem, It's music although may get repetitive after awhile will get stuck in your head and the gameplay is overall very fluid. Addictive and Simplistic retro chaos at its core it's a very fun title. It's the same concept as Angry birds but more challenging and rewarding at the same time. I give it 4 stars due to the fact this game encourages in app purchases to buy cake to allow you to use power ups (pets) more often. Seriously enough with the in app purchases. ✓ Great funIf you enjoy Tiny Wings but want more of a challenge this game is for you. Has good visuals, good music and can get very difficult! (Especially the hell mode, good luck getting past 1500m). You get rewards the more you play, and I love the idea of having pets that give you abilities. The only thing I'm very slightly (only slightly!) annoyed about is that the majority if the pets you use can cost a lot and generally tend to be wasted (though that might just say something about my ability to play the game...) One word of warning, if you get a facetime call (basically if the app closes) while playing you will lose any progress made in that current game. I cannot count the number of times this happened to me and it is incredibly frustrating. Would very much appreciate a way of it pausing your game for you to come back to later. Overall though would definitely recommend, a great game indeed! Not too similar to Tiny Wings where you'll feel like you're playing the same game..Version: 1.1

The rewind feature is great for a game like this where you can't see ahead of you and makes you feel like it's not all your fault if you die. ✓ Most Awesome Survival Game of ALL TIME!!!!What I meant by "survival game" back up there was that you have to go as far as possible while trying to dodge the spikes and avoid falling in the pits. But that's just one thing that makes this awesome. There's more below: I think that was a pretty nice touch on that rewinding time (I use it a lot). Very convenient. And the power ups! You get boosts, time power ups, gems (also to collect time power), and they even added a little way to collect more space cake! By the way, I only have like 50 space cake. But it's challenging to get the cake because it zig-zags. But how do you get it to do that? Also, the pets are useful little living bonuses. Heehee. But they are useful. They got some for speed boosts, protection, and I heard that one of them even causes chain explosions! But why do you need to cough up cake to use them? Oh right, they are living things! All living things need to eat! Anyways, they were good ideas! And the decoration! You can change the flair, vehicle, character, and aliens! And I really like that Arrow of Time flair! But I like the default best though. This game is pretty much a combination of Ski Safari+Tiny Wings+Subway Surfers=Time Surfer. Even if you do have to pay to get more cake, overall this game, like I mentioned above in the title, is the best survival game of all time! Good job on this game, Kumobius! ✓ A mobile game with all the right componentsOk first impression is this game is FUN. It is easy to pickup and quickly rewarding. It has many things I would expect from a good game. multiple Levels, unlockable content, visual cosmetic upgrades that also have real bonuses that really impact gameplay. This allows for a lot of customization not just to look cool but also specialize in bonus abilities which suit your play style. As you play you earn Cake Points ( best currency ever) and this also means you have a choice on which upgrades to buy when( with cake currency) So you could buy everything as you can afford it OR save up and buy an expensive one. The rewind feature is fun and may sound overpowered but also has a reasonable limit of usage tied to collecting powerups so you cant use it infinitely. Overall, an impressive in depth system of character upgrades and abilities I would not expect to find in a mobile platform.Version: 1.4.1
✓ Fun to pass the time!This is a great game to just start playing whenever you're waiting on something or have a little extra time. Some of the missions that you receive are actually pretty challenging and make the game that much more enjoyable. Certain characters will be able to complete these missions easier than others which allows you to try out different play styles. It is pretty repetitive but is still one of my favorites. More characters and flares would be nice in future updates as well as different game modes or even some sort of multiplayer would make the game even better. New obstacles would also make the game more interesting as the aliens and asteroids get pretty boring after a while. Overall this is a pretty good game and is worth the download..Version: 1.5

✓ How good is the music in this game?Imagine you were in a room full of cheese burgers, melting cheese everywhere, with a milkshake fountain in the middle of the room. All the cheese burgers maintain ideal temperature eternally and never go bad. They all drip just the right amount of sauce as you eat them, but that's ok because you have endless napkins to wipe up with afterwards. That is how good the music is in this game.
