KORG iPolysix for iPad for Negative User Reviews

AUv3 please - STILL NO AUv3 😭Sorry but I don’t use Gadget and never will. It just doesn’t work for me. But your stand-alone synths are awesome and need to be AUv3! Needs to be AUv3!.Version: 1.2.2

Audiobus problemI am having trouble using with audiobus. The knobs go kind of shaky, not smooth whenever I try to turn them when audiobus is open. Apart from that, it's outstanding! I much prefer the drums made by this synth compared to ims20. I seem to the only person experiencing the audiobus problems as far as I can tell, but I wish they'd update it with a fix..Version: 1.1.2

Great app but please add AUv3 support. This is a great app. Still really enjoy it and sounds great. But please add Audio units v 3 support. It will be infinetely more useful with that feature added. Thank you..Version: 1.2.2

Latest update doesn't work on first gen iPadWas enjoying this app a lot, 'till I upgraded to the latest version. Now it crashes when loading..Version: 1.1.1

Desperately needs an updateThe MIDI functionality of this app is way behind the evolution of iOS. Has very limited IAA support--buyer beware. I would have expected more upkeep from a company like Korg..Version: 1.1.6

Don't believe the hype! Not as good as iKaossilator. This app contains many bugs that make you just scream. If you like old junky keyboards, this app is for you. The kaoss pads are not as good as others claim especially if you are left handed. The sequencer is an unusable time consuming mess. And what's with all the SoundCloud file sharing support. You realize that you can't use any of that commercially don't you? SoundCloud often blocks uploads claiming that they are in copyright violation. Korg, why can't you give us what we want? We want iKaossilator 2 with new sounds and the ability to mix volumes for each track. Also, while you are making the revisions add in a CLEAR button like Propellerhead Figure has. The actual sound of the keyboard is good so you get two stars for that..Version: 1.0.0

Great reproduction, still buggyUsed to own a Polysix and this has got fantastic reproduction of the synth. This combined with the pad and drums makes it a great app. Has some issues with stuck keys when using an external controller. My axiom aftertouch locks notes down that can't be turned off unless you stop the app, or overload the six keys at once to cause them to drop. Controllers also falsely trigger notes. One recommendation for a new feature is to allow external sync of the arpegiators..Version: 1.0.0

Good sounds, but needs updateIt's a great sounding synth, but looking tired, and missing many essential features such as Link support, and MIDI Learn so we can use the app with external MIDI controllers. Feels like it's been abandoned..Version: 1.1.6

Needs some loveGreat sound but no Ableton Link, it's not an IAA instrument just a generator and not an AUv3 so it's limited. Please keep your apps up to date Korg :) also the polyshare network has been broken for a year..Version: 1.1.6

The iPolysix doesn't work with iOS 8I bought an iPad a week ago - my first tablet - on the strength of having seen a number of demo videos of this app, and having been really impressed with its sounds and interface. As the previous reviewer wrote, it crashes every time on start-up. Korg is a global company with, presumably, global resources: why wasn't this issue addressed prior to the release of iOS 8? I logged an enquiry earlier today with Korg Tech Support asking when an update will be made available. I have yet to receive a response..Version: 1.1.3

Great app, but....Needs some support for iOS 8!.Version: 1.1.3

No inter app audio, no auv3.One the best sounding (and expensive) synths I own, but I can’t do much with it outside of Korg’s own Gadget DAW, in which a cut-down version of it appears..Version: 1.2.0

Great tool, but no midi export and no audio copy. This app, like a few others, needs to get it together. Midi export and audio copy should be available on all pro music apps. Moving on these are some good sounds to be had here and features that, while limit, get you to learn hoe to be creative within its limited confines. And yet the sounds you can create are endless. That gives it one star and the easy of using the interface gives it another. Now lets get that midi export and audio copy features in there for the full five stars..Version: 1.1.2

Midi clockIt's good but really needs update to enable it to receive midi time clock like ielectribe to sync properly to logic or other daws then u don't have to spend ages getting in sync with logic!!!.Version: 1.1.1

Please update all the Korg apps to a AUV3Just like all the other korg stuff there is still NO AUV3 can you please put AUV3 on all the KORG SYNTHS.Version: 1.2.2

Come on Korg! How about a bit of pro activity? Other developers brought out IOS 8 updates before the rollout. You guys are way too late. ALL your apps see crashing! And four weeks after IOS 8 it still doesn't work. For shame Korg, for shame..Version: 1.1.3

Anybody there? It seems to me that KORG is charging good money for their Apps but they are not doing much work to update them. IPolysix hasn't been updated since 2015, no sync with other apps like Ableton Link or midi. Very disappointing, don't purchase KORG apps, they are not worth it. KORG should stop ripping off people. There are much better synths up there for less than half the price..Version: 1.1.6

Confirmed - still crashing on iOS8Pretty sad, Korg..Version: 1.1.3

Sounds good, but buggyI love the sounds I can from this. It’s one of the first apps I bought when I got my first iPad 5 years ago. I was astounded by the features. They’re still great features, but the controls seem less responsive and three years without an update seems too long. I’m sure it could be improved to bring give it more utility with newer hosts..Version: 1.1.6

NO AUv3 SUPPORTCome on Korg this is ridiculous!!!! It’s been how many years now? I deleted Gadget because this. Gadget was born on iOS yet you give the flexibility to desktop only. I never bought the desktop version because of your shady business dealings on iOS. I spent over $200 on your iOS products. To access gadgets on desktop, to put in your personal daw, is $200. Over it..Version: 1.2.2

Is it worth it? Yes and No...This is a nice little App, but is really not good value at full price. 2 Vintage Polysix synths, Kaos pads, 2 Sequencers, and a 6 piece drum machine. If you like vintage synth sounds this is for you, if you want something easy to use which sounds current, then I'd look elsewhere. It is something regularly discounted, so wait until its on offer before deciding to buy would be my advice..Version: 1.1.2

Cool but no KORG Gadget integration. BooooooooAwesome sounds but why does it not work in Gadget? ALL KORG apps should be able to work in that environment... Come on guys! Make it happen 😉.Version: 1.1.6

Does not work on iOS8Does not work on iOS8.Version: 1.1.3

Cloud crash city...This app *used to be* super stable. Per a prior complaint, cloud is unavailable from crashes on ios 9 :( UPDATE Still buggy, and broken cloud on IOS 10.Version: 1.1.6

Does anyone ever give 2,3 or 4*s?It's driving me mental. Every app review seems to be 1* or 5*. Moronic nonsense. AND UNHELPFUL. A very nice addition to Korgs very nice range of apps. Along with the ims20, the Polysix gives a little something new. Unique sounding even with only a handful of presets. Quite pricey as well. Bloody good though..Version: 1.1.6

Korg rather hates their customersOr doesnt want us actually Making music, just playing with pricey toys so long as we never create any songs. This app actually has a manual, while having several functions i never wanted from it. That gets it one star more than i'll give iMS-20, but still, in the three years i've owned these apps, I haven't created anything using them nor used them live, because they're boring, laborious, bureaucratic, cumbersome pieces of bloatware. I imagine Korg's programmers having sick laughs at all the musicians banging away at their ipads, trying to wring music out of these apps, or breaking their ipads in frustration. Thanks for nothing, Korg!.Version: 1.1.4

WorthlessThis app should not cost 30 dollars! Ithas some bugs and it is difficult to use and there are plenty of other apps that cost less and work great! I do not know how Korg gets a reputation for being great...their stuff is complicated and buggy!.Version: 1.1.6

Close but no cigarLove the app, easy to use but very very light on the presets, you're essentially paying for the name 'korg', I have come to expect more from 'high end' and rather expensive synth apps, fifteen dollars would have been a better price for such a basic package instead of $46, slightly peeved over this one, maybe next time the app won't pester me to rate it after raping my wallet, unless you're a hardcore synth nut and must have a polysix go buy arturia imini instead..Version: 1.1.6

Bug issuesThis app sounds superb looks superb etc.. However it has a bug.. On its own it's faultless however within audiobus or in background mode when twisting the knobs on the front panel they go haywire and the sound breaks up. Please fix korg as at the moment the app is unusable..Version: 1.1.3

Don’t buy this app. MIDI implementation sucks.I own every Korg app and tons of their kit. Love their stuff. Some of their apps need some basic functionality added. This ones midi implementation means I will rarely use it. It cannot be leveraged to make music easily. There are better apps. Save your money..Version: 1.2.2

IOS 8 issueJust like many others, KORG iElectibe. IPolysix, iMS 20 they all crash at launch pleas update.Version: 1.1.3

Good Sound poor MIDIThe recreation of the Polysix sound is great. The addition of the drum parts and sequencer wasn't needed and doesn't improve the app. The problem is with MIDI implementation - the parts are fixed to channels and there is no control over them. The user should be able to decide if they want a part active over MIDI or not and if so then on what channel. Please add that option Korg, you will then have a seriously great synth app..Version: 1.1.4

UPDATE.7/27 EDIT: Korg, your boilerplate "sorry for the inconvenience" response makes no sense here. I'm not complaining about a specific issue, but rather the absolute (and seemingly intentional?) obsolescence of iPolysix as a functioning app in the current iPad music landscape. It's not AU, has no IAA, has no Ableton Link, has no extended MIDI functions, and doesn't interact with Gadget. It's not even integrated into the going KORG iPad environment, let alone the whole complex ecosystem that's come about as the tablet has matured. The complaint is basically, "I paid a lot of money for this app and it stopped updating 2 years ago, despite the fact that music app standards have continued to shift and grow. Now I'm frustrated that I wasted my time writing songs in it." And my review is a warning: don't buy this if you want something that ever updates and plays nicely (or at all) with other apps. 6/18 EDIT: It’s been months and Korg hasn’t so much as glanced my way on this. As of now, iPolysix is a $30 app with no support and no future. It features some of my favorite sounds and workflow, but it’s just not keeping up with the times - or even other Korg apps! I strongly suggest looking elsewhere, if only to avoid the heartbreak I’ve had with this thing. I feel like I wasted two years making music with it. iPolysix was my first iPad music love, the groovebox/synth whose ease, versatility, and top-notch retro voices made me believe the iOS hype when stuff like Tabletop, Figure, and Rhythm still felt undernourished and full of early house-ish cheese. But over time I've been forced to abandon it, as Korg has done essentially nothing to make it vibe with current connectivity standards: no Ableton Link, no extended MIDI functions, no AU stuff, no absorption into Gadget - like I said, nothing. I have something like 50 iPS tracks that are dying to be piped into/arranged further in Gadget or beatmatched with iElectribe/Patterning/ElasticDrums/iMPC or treated track by track with AU/IAP plugins (either in iPS itself or, even better, via some multitrack output to Auria), but it's hard to shake the feeling that I've invested hours upon hours into Korg's redheaded abandonware stepchild, leaving my tracks in a perpetual demo state. Prove me wrong, Korg!.Version: 1.1.6

Great sounding app but very limitedNo Ableton link support even when Korg promised us an update on this since las year. No new features since 2014. No Korg Gadget compatibility. Sequencer is really limited and they haven't add any new features since 2014. I suggest getting Korg Gadget and skip this app. It's a shame because it sounds great though..Version: 1.1.6

Great synth, terrible MIDI implementationThe iPolysix makes great sounds. However, good luck trying to use it with a MIDI controller. There is no way to change which CC# controls which knob on the iPolysix. It also listens to ALL incoming MIDI which can be a pain of you are trying to control it with two different devices. Other synths such as Sunrizer are MUCH better with their MIDI implementation. Even Korg's newer apps like Gadget have the ability to change CC# of the controls. Why don't they go back and fix the crap MIDI functionality of the iPolysix?.Version: 1.1.4

Blue Gizmo stolen through backdoor!I once proudly and quickly made the track blue gizmo which I believe is now preloaded with this app. There was somekind of backdoor in the App connected to KORG, I believe I was on a server or something. After my session was completed a pop-up appeared. It displayed menus for Artist name and Year input.. For whatever reason I chose not to use my real name and instead inputted KORG.. I was actually kind of scared. I could have used an alias but no I put KORG. I'm assuming they misunderstood like they could have It or they got mixed up and it ended as a default project.. Weird right..? And evil. After updating the app I no longer have the ability to input artist name or year.. Now why would they go and do such a thing? What's really going on with these apps and how much are they stealing from users taking the credit?!.Version: 1.1.6

Tempo Tempo TempoThis app would easily get five stars if most of my time with it wasn't spent trying to adjust tempo I love the step sequencer, drum sounds, and presets but I'd love it even more if even there weren't decimals involved its too touchy . Add two arrows to make small adjustments after turning the dial, fix this and I'll easily give 5 stars and update the review..Version: 1.1.2

Wish it came with more sounds...Sure, you can design them yourself but a bigger library would be extremely helpful for those not looking to get so deep into sound design..Version: 1.1.6

Korg Drums failed. .. Again!Great design! pattern sequencing is really helpful and synths do sound nice.. BUT THE DRUMS? These are horrible.. Same as on ims20 if I am not mistaken? Absolutely useless? Why couldn't we upload at least 3 wav? or so for each channel? So the app could be more useful.. I am not releasing anything to soundcloud with these cheap flat drums... Blah. Loved ims20 (still do) but the issue is same - drums sound flat and annoying really. that saying i don't really think app is worth the money.. Drum sustain not only the rhythm but also the energy and not having that I think app is definitely incomplete. Beautiful look but ridiculous drum....Version: 1.0.0

Needs an update and more soundsI love the Korg Legacy Collection on the Mac and PC, a package that includes the Polysix. In comparison, the IOS Polysix is a letdown. There aren't very many sounds, and the small controls don't encourage programming. The polysix is a fairly simple synth, but it seems to operate at the edge of my iPad3's processing power. Try Sunriser, Cassini, iSem or Thor if you are looking for a synth that can go beyond simplistic techno music..Version: 1.1.4

Needs icing on this fine cake!!!Korg, you have proved that you can make very good audio apps so how about making them the best by implementing the icing like background audio and midi sync. Audiobus??? Great sound, Kaos pads are fun, drum synthesis is limited (no live tweaking due to rendering to a sample for each sound) but still very useful etc but many other synth apps integrate much better into the 'studio environment'. I have all of your apps but will buy no more until your existing products are updated. There are plenty of other developers who charge much less and listen to their customers. I'm sure i will be cutting off my nose to spite my face but i will only support developers who support their customers..Version: 1.0.0
