✓ Pay to winI’ve played this game since it’s birth and back then it was fun it wasn’t pay to win though you could buy gold you could still realistically access all the bots which I did however over the past few years I’ve watched as more and more pay to play robots are released. To the point that you will never really unlock many of the newer robots that you have to craft with their parts without paying and they are the robots that hold all the variety everything else is more or less the same or at least very similar. Overall I would say that this was a fun game a few years ago before they released the newer robots (the ones that came after the four legged walkers) but since then the game has just been ruined by all of the in app purchases and pay to win bots that are usually where all of the fun is to be had. If I was writing this a few years ago I would recommend it as I’ve had lots of fun playing it but at this point I can’t really recommend it to anyone..Sigmoidalant300Version: 6.0.0

✓ Takes YEARS to get progressI have played this game a couple years ago and enjoyed it a lot... already then there was slow progress once you reach the workshop phase. I recently downloaded the game again to find that now it is almost impossible to get new guns or bots. The upgrade times are insanely long and you can only upgrade one weapon or bot at a time. So when you play quite a bit, you start to accumulate money you cannot spend because everything else requires “components” that are very very very very slow to get. And you need A LOT of them! I got the game when it first came out and it was really fun. As you progress through this game you will have to spend hundreds or if not even thousands to keep up with other players. New updates “balance changes” adding overpowered robots the next day. New titans becoming bigger, better, and stronger. To strong for anyone to compete with without spending outrages money. ✓ Used to be a good game, now just a cash grab.Good fun to start with, but when you reach a certain point it becomes apparent that everyone else is using Daddys credit card to get the best stuff - which is not cheap. On top of that, every few months they will release new premium weapons which make most of the previous ones redundant. The best bots require components, and currently you can spend $300 and still not quite have enough components to build the bot. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and don’t install this game. This game used to be fun, but now every update makes last months bots worthless and unattainable without $400+, so everything you invest has a very short lifespan. The developer says you can earn every item by playing in game, but I played daily and a LOT of time and unless you devote yourself to playing 24/7 you CANNOT realistically get the best bots. Or even decent bots. I.e you earn components for the latest gen, they usually take 10,000 a piece, but you earn them as prizes for achievements and can’t focus on a single item. So you have at least 30 sets of 10,000 pieces all slowly filling up in such a way as to never fully attain them through play. It’s a sneaky way to SAY you can earn them but never actually possible. This game is well made, but of course, has some issues. One of these is the lag. Ever since a few updates ago the game has been getting choppier and choppier. This really ruined the gameplay for me as it makes it hard to arm when all your enemies are basically teleporting around, not just the phantoms. One second you’re alive and the next you’re dead. This is probably the biggest issue. Another, and the final issue I want to complain about is the lack of communication between the team. This is due to there not being an option to communicate: no chat, no pings, no nothing. This can lead to an unfair advantage to people in platoons who have voice chat or are using a 3rd party communication method. It also ruins the teamwork part of game, which is essential in a team vs team game such as war robots. There are some good points about the game, too: the outstanding graphics, wide assortment of game modes, robots and maps, and the frequent updates. Yes, it is now much easier to get powerful robots with workshop 2.0 but increasing upgrade times for each new robot or weapon from 3 weeks to half a year only forces people to spend money or wait for literally years to max out their equipment. These recent changes allow players to get premium equipment much faster, but they cannot use their new equipment immediately with these ridiculous upgrade times. What’s the point of getting new equipment if you have to wait weeks or months before you can use it? Developing workshop 2.0 is quite a futile attempt to make this game great again. I really fell in love with it, it is very well developed and balanced with the whole customisation, upgrading and the workshop. People who didn’t want to spend the money on gold or elements would have to grind for their weapons/bots and be very patient with the workshop. And that is fair enough. Well it was, until the recent “Christmas”(perfect moment to earn some extra money because that’s what Christmas is about nowadays) update. They have got rid of the standard 150 piece rewarding process and also removed the option of producing more pieces for a longer period of time. INSTEAD THEY INSTALLED a 80 piece rewarding process, making it barely possible to produce anything as the process takes one day! And many the weapons that used to be in the workshop are now only available to be purchased with gold which you have to pay for! Thanks so much developers that you’re different and aren’t GREEDY with what you’re doing and that you have made a nice FREE TO PLAY game👍🏼. Once you’re at a more advanced stage, you won’t be able to compete with your opponents and you’ll be tempted to spend money. NERF Ao jun, ares, leeches, falcons, etc. The game makes « balancing updates », but nothing is balanced. I can’t play robots i like, because they cannot compete with those stupid inventions. The other thing is, these people who play these robots hide, do their ability, become invincible and then hide. Nonsense. Also, why are some light weapons better than there medium or heavy copy? 3) Disgusting matchmaking: At silver stage, there are already titans and ao juns. For some reason, i’m in expert league with a carnage and a raijin. Un-freaking-playable. I’m always « the less valuable player ». 4) Components: Why does it take a month to make a weapon? Components should be a general ressource as well. If you get components, it’s only for one weapon. Transforming components cost a fortune in silver and you lose 60% value. 5) Cost to upgrade: Everything costs a fortune in silver to upgrade. Why does it take 55 million silver for one upgrade? 6) Updates make things worse: I think War robots was a fun game before. The more things they add, the worse the game is. ✓ A pit to throw moneyWar Robots is an enjoyable enough game, but be prepared to languish about down the bottom of the ladder, going no where unless you are prepared to fork out hundreds of dollars, if not more, on upgrades. Recently, with the introduction of what is essentially a rigged lottery type operation, you are further enticed to spend more money by winning a small number of lottery tickets in each battle. While the system promises a chance to win something decent, the spinning lottery wheel may almost stop on a good prize, only to speed back up just enough so that you land on something that is essentially worthless. It really is a very dodgy and rigged setup. Apart from that it has some strong points, despite limited maps they are reasonably fun, and a recent new map has added some interest. There are a range of robots and weapons, the lower quality ones you can buy for in game silver. Hint, do not spend real money to buy in game silver. Soon enough you will have earned more than you would ever spend just through your battle earnings, and the rigged lottery will give you even more of the stuff. Graphics is pretty good but there is a bit of jumpiness in your opponents locations, however that could be an internet issue. ✓ Kind of pay to winI have come back to this game off an on for years, and it’s changed some for the better, some for worse. Pretty easy game to make the standard money, but it really can’t buy you any robots. There’s maybe a handful of them that you can buy with standard credits, the rest are either purchased with gold, or made in the workshop, which takes credits, and an eternity of patience. The little red ticket spinner thing I loved at first when I came back to play, I managed to get a gun I’d otherwise have to spend gold on, but since my first week playing I’ve realized I was either lucky the first week, or it’s rigged to throw you a bone the first week and then just give you 10K - 25 K for literally weeks and weeks after that. I rarely hit anything. If it’s gonna be a blatant cash grab, don’t try to dress it up, just make it pay to win, why bother adding the spinner? It feels like it’s intentionally there to frustrate me to the point of giving up or spending money, and I’m more inclined to give up. The robots you can actually buy, and guns, are ridiculously priced as well. So, to get at least 7000 components or more for it, you need to pay 100 bucks, which I wouldn’t expect someone to pay for that, it’s a complete rip off. I also want to explain about the loot boxes. I’d say their should at least be a feature where your able to remove components from the loot boxes and switch them out with silver and gold. It takes me a while to get 100 keys to open a box, I would expect some gold or double the amount of keys but instead I get components of a bot that I don’t want or would take forever to get. It’s very annoying how the loot boxes are just filled with component. So basically loot boxes are pretty useless because their just filled with components. Also for the new spin machine thing added. Now there are just too many currencies. There has been an influx of confusing new gameplay mechanics which even a level 30 player like me do not get. ✓ GreedyThe game is good, I like the bots and weapons and the reward system is ok. But what really annoys me is how greedy Pixonic have become. Used to be great, even game with fun bits and weapons, even after they changed it from WWR to WR. Now it’s as simple as this: the more you pay, the better things you get. That’s the way this usually works now. Most of the old weapons and bots are completely out of date and are completely useless against a major amount of the newer things. The main issue is components. You pretty much have to buy a SPECIFIC TYPE of component to get A weapon. Components are not a currency. They are something that you require to get a specific weapon or robot. You can only buy one once you have sufficient components and if you even think about not paying big time, it will take absolutely ages to get anywhere. Now I know that it is soon being introduced that you can buy components with silver in the new workshop and hopefully that will even things out a little, but I could rant on and on. Balancing is a huge issue, as said before, between new and old and just weapons and robots in general. ✓ Gameplay is fine, overall system is broken.This game used to be great until they turned it into Gambling with Mechs. There are at least 5 different currencies in this game, which are non transferable and only useful for certain things. They have added so many gambling aspects to this game that it’s pretty clear all they want is your money. Like the title says, this is a good simple tactical mech game. But with the added gambling features comes the Pay-to-Win features which basically break the game. Bought weapons are waaay OP and there is basically no way to get them without spending far too much money. A recent experience with the gambling system was when I bought a 1000 key chest with earned keys. It had 500 keys in it. I spent those keys on 100 chest keys and won basically nothing (weapon parts, mech parts, too few to do ANYTHING with). 1000 keys can be purchased for $15. Over time I’ve watched some good things and some bad things based upon the evolution of the game. First the game glitches a lot especially when you’re in heavy play. There have been times when I’ve been completely maxed out on my robot, and I would face a comparable robot that only had 10% left in life, and yet I would lose. This would be due to latency problems, so when you have these latency issues, your strikes do not count. I’ve had the same issues when my robot would get destroyed and then I would drop in with a new robot and by the time I landed I would be destroyed again. In the meantime it took 20 seconds before I would have control over my robot. Ever since the beginning, I have always reported the issues and provided good input to make the game better. Not only is there a massive jump between levels where you can either have the most powerful robots of all time or you have nothing, but when people do have these robots they absolutely decimate all of their lobbies. ✓ The Trouble with TitansThis is a good game, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, the Titans need a matchmaking balance. What I mean by this, is that I am in bronze one, and am level 21. I have not spent money on this game, but I do have robots of decent power. The fact that a player with a Titan can be randomly put into a game with players like myself, and then annihilate your entire team, is ridiculous. The chance of a team of players without Titans being able to come back from that is unlikely. I would recommend either: 1. But I’m tired of the greed of pixonic. I’ve spent probably £150-£200 on this game over time and to be honest it’s just a waste and a con. Pixonic basically launch new weapons a couple of times a year, but to do so they ruin the old ones that you have already purchased. If this were any other sector for sales bar online gaming it would be against trading laws, as your basically sold something that only has a limited life without being clearly told so, but the worlds trading laws in this space must be poor to allow them to do this. So all the latest best weapons have to be bought with real cash or indirectly though gold or events, the ones you’ve spent your hard earned money on already are or soon to be worthless, to encourage you to by their new weapon. ✓ I am a little disappointedSaying no offence before what I’m about to say would be pointless so I won’t. I have been playing this game for a long time now. Spent some money on it probs about £200??!! Maybe more. Don’t matter how much you love or how much you spend on it, there’s always a way to make you extremely mad. For example I haven’t won a game in 5 days. And I play at least 30 matches a day if not more. Sometimes I get lucky and I’m put in with people who have ridiculously crazy NEW /and probably fully upgraded Robots. Every game like this one should have an option on what difficulty level you can manage to play, have fun and won some matches too. My robots are on level 10-14 got some new weapons but i swear if some of you could just see how quickly I die..... well.... you wouldn’t be able to because I get slaughtered in a matter of seconds. Literally can not enjoy this game unless you spend at least for what I can tell you ( about £700) then you probably can get a couple of decent robots and maybe some weapons. ✓ Don’t waste your precious timeI’ve been playing this game for about four/five years now, and I have to say it’s been an interesting ride. Back in the good old days (when skill was still a thing) this was my favourite game. The matches were phenomenal edge of your seat experiences with a terrific variety of bots and weapons. The graphics were decent and the balancing was top notch; every bot had it’s unique speciality. Then slowly, as the game gained popularity, and I began to see a change in the development. Every new bot released was designed to be the best bot in the game, only to be dethroned by the next ridiculously overpowered bot that saunters into the battlefield a month later. God, a proper breakdown of how pathetic this game has become would take too long, and I don’t want to waste my time with this train wreck any longer. So here’s a short list: new bots now cost £100 for the first month after their release; the black market is completely rigged; robots and weapons are ridiculously expensive, taking a month to put together; the actual gameplay are targeting system hasn’t been updated since 2016 and the drones, pilots and modules are just another way for the paying player to dominate the non paying player. ✓ Not sure how to feelWhen I first started playing this game...about a year ago I was so excited and glad that I had found it, soon after I got bored and lost interest because once u get to a certain level, the cheaper bots (silver) become too weak and while gamers spend $100’s of dollars I’m not willing to spend a lot of money. With the rigid lottery system your lucky to get 10 pieces of Gold. The maps are great, great graphics and they all offer something different, robots and weapons are great other then how dear orkans, Zeus etc are..a more reasonable price would be 500 gold or just cheaper in general. I like how pixonic is adding new features such as robots and new maps but Haechi and the other dash bots are way to hard to beat. ✓ Money grabbersThis game grips you in with detailed graphics and a wide variety of different robots and weapons to choose from. An exciting game to start only ends in disappointment. I can say I have participated in being part of pay to win within this game however no matter how much money you spend, you’ll always be required to pay for more. You cannot justify playing the game enough every day to earn the rewards you need to complete tasks. The sheer amount of money you’re required to obtain anything even relatively good anymore is shameful. Buy the best robot in the game £100, only to see it nerfed a month later and 3 better robots come out. And even once you’ve bought the best robot, you need 4 other amazing robots to compete in the leagues with high enough rewards to then upgrade the best robot you have just purchased. Furthermore once in the high league you need to play every spare second of every day for a few months to then earn enough for a level 10+ upgrade. ✓ Pay to winThe concept is great. The action often hugely enjoyable. Several things totally spoil the game however. First is the chronic overheating that has plagued the iOS version for more than a year. Even a relatively powerful 7+ iPhone gets so hot after less than 10 mind the screen auto dims. Play longer and the phone can shut down as well as suffer huge graphical lag. The second issue is the developers apparent desire to constantly introduce changes that require players to spend more and more money to compete. Of course apps like this are about profitability but it does feel like there is less and less place for those players unable to spend £££’s on upgrades and new content. The third is the matching. Often crippled by tanking players (a problem Pixonic have said they are “fixing” for more than a year but it’s still there) but nearly always unbalanced - your team will be less powerful or you’ll be against a clan on comms and be smoked in a few minutes. ✓ It’s a good game but everything gets nerfed or is redesigned into a pay to win thingThe game itself is really good, amazing graphics, physics and stuff like that but when it comes to actually getting the stuff to play the game it is a whole different story. Most of the extreme robots you have to get through buying them which cost about £8 each, otherwise it is a lengthy process of actually getting the components to unlock the robot you want, the game itself doesn’t give much of the in game currency through winning games. There is 2 types of currency used in the game, gold and silver, silver you can get anywhere from 20k-400k from winning a game and gold it is either nothing or 8, that may sound like a lot but to upgrade some robots it costs 72 million silver. Another thing wrong with the game is they are constantly nerfing and reducing the way robots work, for example the Seraph robot is a tank at destroying titans but it has been needed about 4 times now which is a bit ridiculous to me and there is no reason for it as it is practically useless now and does minuscule damage to titans which the whole point of seraph is to destroy titans..Heyitswill243Version: 9.5.0

✓ TitansI didn’t know Titans were an addition until recently when I re-downloaded the game. They are very powerful robots that can turn the tide if someone on your side has one. The problem is: the matchmaker doesn’t read the pilot’s load outs before the match, so you can get a match where the entire enemy side has Titans and none of your side does. Unfortunately, this results in extremely one-sided battles where you’re doomed to failed from the start. I’m almost level 30, which is when the Titans unlock, but it’s still unfair to have to fight 3 at a time while it’s just you and one other person left. The game is fun, but this new robot introduction has shifted the balance in fairness from what the game originally was. Also, most of the good robots cost gold or puzzle pieces, and you can only get puzzle pieces from the lab, which gives only a small amount at a time while the robots cost tens of thousands of puzzle pieces, resulting in lots of “wallet warriors.” Ive had to fight multiples of battles where the entire team has nothing but “premium bots” as I like to call them and my team is horribly outmatched because most of us are using bots from when the game was originally released. If the devs were willing to do a complete rebalance of the bots and weapons that would make the game even better, but I doubt they’d be willing to do something like that as it seems that the game is moving from user friendly to pay-to-win..TankDestroyer78Version: 6.4.6

✓ Rigged!!!It takes a long time to farm gold and keys and components take too long to make. The chests you open aren’t worth the grind because the chances are it will slow down on a gold, then speed up so you get 100k silver. It used to be easy because there were daily events where you could get components gold and keys easily, now it has turned into this money hungry pay to win game. It used to actually be fun when the first workshop was a thing and there weren’t overpowered robots like ao jun which can kill a Lancelot in seconds, and it has stealth! Retribution cool down should be much longer, components should take like 30 min for 50, gold and keys should be distributed more plentifully, and orkans should at least be in the bronze chests. The new robots have gotten too op and the old ones cannot compete against them. Stop removing the og robots too! Golem boa and the light one with the heavy (forgot the name), have all been removed for some reason. More weapons should cost components if not half the gold they are now. There really is something to suit all okay styles. The major problem with this game is the in game economics.
