✓ Ok, but notifications don’t workGame is pretty decent, would be a solid 4 stars if the notifications worked. Apparently between 11P.M. - 9A.M. FOR WHATEVER REASON, the game refuses to send notifications and it even says it in the settings itself that it doesn’t send notifications in that time frame which just, baffles me. Aside from that, this game is ok, it’s a bit P2W but not over the top. Mainly quality of life benefits. You get to skip battles which would be nice I guess but it gives you a boost to framing rates and crafting limits so it’s kinda P2W but not over the top. Aside from skipping battles, a F2P player can get the same stuff all be it at a slower rate.Version: 1.3.0
✓ Not a good gameWell half the time you have to pay for many things like Training you have a cap to the amount of levels you can train something which is only 8 and you need to pay to train them higher and secondly using the living area takes way to long so you either have to do something else or wait over 2 hours and also pvp and pve is boring as it’s to quick and you just watch it happen and there is still many more issues but I won’t discuss them.Version: 1.24.1

✓ Not as shownThe gameplay is not at all what the video that tempted me towards it advertised. The video showed an underground shelter, with resources outside. Where the player would, say, drag woodcutters to trees to harvest wood. But outside was irradiated, so you'd have to drag them back to the shelter toheal them after they got too low. Instead, resource production takes place inside the shelter. You never really send people out. You can attack other players, and that's really the main way of accumulating resources. But if you don't have the top gear, after about a week fighting other players will prove very difficult, rarely winning any pvp fights. Perhaps I'd enjoy it more if I hadn't been mislead about the gameplay to begin with. As is, it's a disappointment because it was something else. (I've played for three weeks thinking maybe I just eventually unlock more features. But no..Version: 1.13.0
✓ The arena is terrible!I’m getting pretty fed up of spending time upgrading my characters to not be last in the Arena and never win! If I’m 50k they are 100k, I build up to 100k and the opposition are 200k.. therefore I rarely have a chance of coming top, it’s ridiculous. It’s the biggest flaw of the game and spending money makes absolutely no difference. ✓ Shamelessly pay to win.Over the years gaming has been under flak for lootboxes, gambling, and ruining the fun by having players “pay to win” essentially guaranteeing the poor working class and players who play games for the game itself cannot enjoy it because the balance is rigged against them. What’s worse is that the game doesn’t even give boss gear after killing the boss, this is where gamers draw the line. The whole point of a boss is to get high tier loot and face-down a challenging foe. But having players pay $2.99 just to get the gear that a boss SHOULD DROP NATURALLY is disgusting. I’ll keep playing for now but at this rate this game will remain a crappy, unbalanced, pay to win piece of garbage just like all the trash EA used to make. ✓ Great game but has some annoying points...Overall the game is great! Long story mode, lots of loot, how you advance in the game, the pvp BUT the waiting time on upgrades and building are really long and the matchmaking on the arena is pretty bad... no matter how high power level I get I always get put as the weakest player every time and I know of a lot of other players which this happens to also so that’s needs to be adjusted or some more information needs to be put forward on how the matchmaking works but other than those to points the game is definitely worth downloading and I’m sure as the game progresses updates will be made..Version: 1.0.0

✓ Decent game but has way too many problems.Pay to win. No skill, and long waiting times to literally do anything in your shelter. With absolutely no skill, fights are nearly always determined by whoever has played longer. Arena PVP is absolutely horrible as you always get paired with people much more powerful than you. I have roughly 220000 squad power and the lowest powered player that I have seen in FIVE arena matches has roughly 500000 power. Really unbalanced and needs to be fixed. But despite all of its problems it can get fun occasionally. But its obvious that the devs are only in for the money..Version: 1.25.1

✓ Fight zombies from behind a paywallAnother potentially great game ruined by excessive monetisation. Defeat a boss and then pay real money to collect the loot they dropped. The benefits of Maximum happiness for your shelter are behind a pay wall. Any type of growth, upgrade, or action is eventually capped by real money purchases. Plus there are multiple subscription services that give you varied bonuses, so you could potentially be paying 2 or 3 different subscriptions for one game. I was playing arena I won all my matches and no one could kill me. I was also in first until the last round which someone passed me because i could only get 30 medals at a time and he got 44 which is dumb because to do that you would think you would need to beat the 1st place person(me) but no he got it by beating the person in 3rd which I had already beat. ✓ Be aware!Game play is entertaining you will be hooked after playing a couple times. The problem is that this game is for profit on steroids! After a couple weeks, you will find yourself playing against players that are much stronger than you. That is due to the fact they make it very easy and fast for you to upgrade your command center in the beginning, which will cause you to face stronger players with a weak team. Arena will most likely be impossible to play. The moment you’re in that position they will bombard you with “deals” They push new events every couple weeks and if you don’t buy the pass you will most likely not going to get the main prizes. If you don’t spend money on the “deals” You will find yourself losing in the battlefield for weaker players than you. Conveniently, you will see “vendors” selling armors and guns that will cost an arm and leg. As the game advances the need for real money increases or you can’t be competitive and become cannon fodder. The problem here is once you place real money into the game everything works as it should until it doesn’t. This happened to me and once you have an issue you are at the mercy of the support team (Michael on this team is my breaking point, you get this guy and your screwed). Between not answering the problem and being sarcastic (tells you to “have a nice day” after telling you your screwed and there is nothing you can do about it, is just rude). Enjoy the game at the start but buyers beware after level 85. I had better combat with the developers than the game competitors. Another note: you can’t reset this game without a court approved letter (joking) but you do need to give them a picture of your ID, country and states you played the game, all devices used for the game, and internet provider information (not joking). ✓ Definitely a cash game, not sure why average good ratingsRidiculous that I can only protect my resources in vaults unless I am continuously pushing screens in the game. The game automatically times out after a minute of “inactivity”. I get one or two players I can attack with my level 28 because rest ridiculously above my level of power. Levels 30-50+ powers 4x-10x+. So somehow they get to steal my steel 100k when I have 500k in my safe while I only get to obtain maybe 10% 50k at most from one or two attacks every some hours to get another one or two attackable players. 20% take and again 25% take I do not ever get for some reason. I foresee now that it would be days or weeks to accumulate millions of resources required to upgrade unless I buy them with cash. Then the game becomes not attractive only to make it to “powerful huge” player for ego contest. I am abandoning now because if money is the only way to supe up I know that I will never get to the level to actually enjoy playing other than building my fort to catch up others to play together without substantial cash input. ✓ The Massacre Is A JokeBeen playing this for over a year now and it’s been a fun game to kill some down time. Unfortunately the last couple months I haven’t been able to make a match in the massacre. It’s really frustrating when goals depend on it and after 20 or 30 minutes you haven’t made a match. Also, can’t we just pay like, $10 for PERMENANY premium? That eats up money like a wildfire, same with the zombie assistant, if you want us to buy them, make them permenant, so we got a reason to. Lastly, the lumber, my god the lumber, I have the best defense I can muster right now, two rifles a chemist and a melee, I am trying to save up as much lumber as I can for the level 7 command center, but that’s impossible when I get raided three times a day by people 10x stronger than me! They steal all my lumber and I have to start over, and then it happens again! Please make it to where when you raid you only get resources and not steal them? I can’t even begin to imagine how many thousands of dollars some people have spent to be at the top because that what it would take when you do the math on upgrading. There are players I have to face that have close to 1 million power on me and fighters that are 15 levels higher. They have added events that at first were balanced and fun with decent progression and are now just straight up cash grabs with ridiculously low legendary drop rates and card draws. ✓ Huge problems, awful matching algorithmsI have been playing with my family, which is the only reason I endure this. I often sit through the exact same ad many times a day to get training time reductions, equipment, extra food, etc. No one is watching the same ad 20 times guys, how is this good for anyone? I would pay for premium if it meant I could get those bonuses without the incessant false advertising. Arena matching algorithms are awful, sometimes you sit in a never ending queue, which is awful because winning in the arena is tied to various in-game rewards. The majority of arena matches are decided for you by putting you in a bracket you can’t compete with even if your opponents miss a few rounds. I am regularly matched in map PvP against people with 10x or more power, 3 more troops, officer, and end game equipment… because they have similar trophy totals? That is insane, fix the trophies or otherwise find a better way to match players. Cold Games prototypes break the arenas, map PvP, and alliance war, and no new players will have access to that equipment again for months. Please stop matching normal players against the ones with such an obvious power imbalance so consistently. Devs, this could be a really cool game, please fix it..Version: 1.30.1

And the events, including the current Archaeological strategy, are such a rip off. I refuse to buy any of the passes because I’ve spent an ungodly amount of money on mobile games, Zero City included. For the Archaeological strategy event, I have to spin 10 plus times to get a dice here and there and when I roll I hardly ever get to move 4, 5, or 6 spaces. ✓ Starts off good, goes downhill.Really enjoyed this game to begin with, but after a while it just becomes monotonous. It gets to a point where it’s impossible to do the story battles without spending a ton of real money on upgrades... Problem is with games like this, you’ll do an action like upgrading something and it’ll take longer and longer each time, therefore encouraging you to go off and do something else while you have to wait 12 hours for an upgrade. This made me lose interest in the game eventually because it just became a cycle of opening the game to play, realise I have to upgrade to progress in the game, then not touching it again for another 2 days. ✓ Oi - Developers! Listen to the feedbackGood game. Some complain about speed of advancement if you don’t pay, but it’s down to individual choice. Nice variety of different options - pvp, pvz (zombies) and arena deathmatch. Read the reviews here and you’ll see that the arena needs attention. The player levels are always imbalanced and the developers are probably loosing business to those who are using the arena as a way of staying engaged with the game whilst waiting for upgrades to take effect etc. Sort out something to at least bracket players into approximate leagues instead of placing players who clearly have no chance of winning up against others who want more than cannon fodder to challenge them. What grips me more, I suppose is that I've decided to review what could be a 4-5 star game, logged onto the app store and found that others have the same issues, have reviewed it and nothing appears to have been done....Version: 1.4.0
✓ Good but...Great entertaining game. I played to level 15 but realized I made several mistakes. For example. in Fallout, you can train your citizens to max stats—which is what I started doing. And then I learned that depending on the citizen’s star rating, they cap out at certain stat levels. So if you trained all your citizens to be strong, then they will be compromised in cooking, making money, etc. Once I made this discovery, I wanted to restart. Unfortunately, the devs will not restart an account unless you send them a copy of my Drivers License. Most games will allow you to log out and login with a different account. There’s seems to be measures to prevent this. So all said and done. Good game. But I have to quit because my citizens are compromised and I can’t fix my error without throwing a bunch of money at it..Version: 1.4.0
✓ Waste of Time and MoneyThis is a very detailed game and is very addicting (it’s a great game in general) but the more you upgrade or build it starts to take longer for the builds which makes me dislike it. The more battles you beat it gets more difficult and there are a lot of packages (e.g Pitbull , Zombie Assistant) with cost money and you need to spend money on the game to get pass the difficult battles. ✓ OMG this game is so awful!I originally gave it 3 stars because I thought it maybe had potential, but after playing it for a whole week I’ve realized that it is irredeemably messed up. I went from being matched with people who were only a little stronger than me to being matched with people who are 10 times stronger! It’s incredible how bad this game is! The premium membership doesn’t work the way it’s advertised, rewards fail half the time, the assistant can’t be made permanent and the more you raise your level, the worse off you are. It’s just a total scam. Not to mention, all the ads used to be 30 seconds but now it seems the majority are 60 seconds. I spend more time watching ads than playing the actual game. Now about “premium”…good luck making any progress without it. Luckily the game is set up where you can earn premium through events but there may be times it runs out. ✓ Sneaky..They have a sneaky mechanic built in this game that when you wanna start making some real money (in game) that you start getting attacked while offline so much that you never have money to level rooms up so you have to buy the premium currency to be able to level rooms up.. ✓ One big problemFirst things first. I do like the game overall, and for me that’s saying something. I usually steer clear of pay to win games unless they have other areas I can enjoy without constantly spending money on them, which to be clear, I’ve spent over $100 on this game so far so I ought to be having a chance to win by now and I’m not. And this brings me to the one major problem I have with this game: the matchmaking system. I’m up to 5 fighters in my squad now and I’m so heavily uptiered my squad doesn’t stand a chance in the arena. When I say uptiered, my squad power is 185,000 and my squad hit points are 59,000. And the closest matchup I’ve gotten in the arena was an opponent that had twice of both of those numbers. And it doesn’t matter what I do either. No amount of new equipment, weapons, squad arrangements or training improves the situation. The better I make the squad the more I get uptiered. This needs to be fixed. I can’t enjoy a critical part of the game because I’m getting placed in matchups that are WAY beyond the capabilities of my squad..Version: 1.20.0
✓ This game is just a repetitive, shallow, piece of garbagePlayed it for numerous hours for a number of weeks. The zombie battles are all side scrolling and identical from one place to the next. It is a tactically shallow game and you pretty much rely exclusively on the gear you either buy (the best) to the stuff you can win from the arena (second best, & 3rd), to the garbage you get fighting zombies. Arena can be fun, but ultimately, its the same repetitive crap. You’re just learning to play their system. And essentially, the person who has spent the most time gearing up at the arena will likely be in the #1 spot. If you’re just looking to blow your time on a game that is mind numbing without much significant brain usage, then you can be a zombie and play this. Otherwise, find something better. ✓ Ads showed something differentI’m removing the game from my phone because the game lacks what I was looking for. Obviously ads for mobile games are sometimes gimmicky and show you amazing details of the game to get you to download it. However the ads for this one just straight up lied. From what I saw the game allowed for customization of characters in game allowing you to change the appearance of your survivors from weight, facial structure, and hair color. That’s what I got the app for. When I began playing there was no option what so ever to customize any of my survivors except changing their name. Another ad was simply to entice children cause it displayed a battle royale type style game and I’m sure that’s not even included either. Other reviews say this game is a cash grab and now that I’ve played its clear that their right, I wouldn’t bother downloading it..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Listen to the players or loose themThe game concept is actually pretty cool, you have a nice variety of PVE and you can also build different strategies for PVP. I would really rate this as a 5 star game but have been on it for the past 7 months or so and from all the events I’ve seen, you cannot possibly get all of the events weapons/items without paying cash (which I have done plenty of times) but it’s unfair for others, yes cash players can have an advantage but you shouldn’t make it impossible for the non-cash players or people that can’t afford to cash in as much as it’s needed to get the items ($100 plus most times). The arena logarithm is completely broken, every time you go up you’ll face opponents with huge gaps, mostly above but also below where you stand. This leads for players to be “stuck” on their level just watching adds, doing tunnels and farming chips for months to be able to stand a chance at the arena. I have seen a lot of good cash and non cash players giving up in the past couple months as nothing is done in regards to fixing bugs or events, listen to the players or you’ll keep loosing them..Version: 1.17.0

Arena used to fill up quickly and begin with no problem but now it’s the opposite. I’m not sure if it is level related or not but there needs to be an explanation. Secondly, the game is pay to win once you reach a certain point. Getting attacked repeatedly by the same user while offline and losing all the trophies I earned from my last battles. Losing a number of materials that took forever to reach a million to begin with and then the upgrades cost is pushing 2 million plus while taking 3 plus days to actually finish upgrading. On top of that, storages have the same problem when upgrading with unrealistic upgrade times and excessive requirements for an upgrade especially if you want to do multiple things but can only afford two builders max that don’t need to be bought with real currency..Version: 1.41.0
✓ 9 hours for match upJust like hustle castle, lots of positives about the game, especially near the start when everything works. Then the inevitable grind sets in but this is fine because there’s plenty to do - or at least there should be. The reasons I deleted hustle castle(after spending plenty) come back to mind: the constant purchase reminders, the array of impossible opponents and the worst part… the arena. The waiting times are insane. The first time I messaged support about it I was told this was within the parameters of the game engine and I should try the arena at different times of day - I had of course tried this. Yesterday, I thought I’d see how long it would take for a match if I really dug in and waited - I gave up on 9 HOURS and 3 mins. If this is within parameters of the game then there clearly needs to be an adjustment to the perception of customer patience. I sent the screen shot of this to support and sadly got the same reply as before - word for word. Amazed that customers waiting that long do not even merit a human response - perhaps send long messages with screenshots to your human support and not to bots. I’d prefer not to give up on it, put bot players into arena, do anything but don’t say it is within parameters for your users to wait 9 + hours.
