✓ Loved the game.. not anymoreIt seems my review will be similar to my last.. I’ve been away from the game for a few weeks due to family matters and come back to discover my barb size has been reduced again!! I’ve lost 86 slots in my bath which means if I want to try and play the game I now need to sell almost 100 items, last time I stupidly sold things to upgrade my exotic animals so I’m just rebuilding that stockpile and now I must sacrifice to continue to play.. how is this in the benefit of my game?? Please find a way to restore my barn!! Love love loved this game, very interactive, great challenges and things to do.. until you updated the game and changed the barn to all in one but didn’t accommodate for the amount of things you were adding together. You have made the game completely unplayable!! I can’t make things because I can’t gather from my animals because my barn is full, I can’t cook anything because all my slots are filled with things I cannot collect because I have no space in my barn, I can upgrade my barn but it will cost 600 diamonds for the first upgrade and I need to buy 10 upgrades just to be able to play again and as much as I like the game I’m not spending a weeks wage on diamonds for a game! ✓ Nowhere near as good as either of the FarmVille 2 gamesSo far, (and I’m only at level 9 after several days of playing) I think This is a very boring compared to the FarmVille 2 games. It takes a long time to load, and making anything takes forever. There is nothing to do whilst you wait for things to complete unless you want to spend real $ to buy tools. Leveling up is slow and frankly the graphics are second rate compared to the previous games. Whereas you could play the ‘2’ series games for long periods at a time right from the first download, with lots of tasks and competitions, so far this one is a once a day “check in for 5 minutes” experience and doesn’t hold your attention. ✓ I would have rated 5Since the update to the game it has made it impossible to complete tasks unless you spend money, such a shame. My co op feel the same and a lot of people are leaving, what was once pleasurable has turned into an impossible task. I’ve met many lovely people playing this game, I just hope I can find another as friendly and that you’re able to complete. Examples, crops have gone from a couple of hours to grow to 14, you need 34 energy to clear things on your farm, the energy bar only holds 70 energy and is slow to replenish unless you buy it. The water that we collect to boost crops has halved but the times have more that quadrupled to grow them. I don’t know what the people at zynga are thinking!!! ✓ Pacing of game seems off.Very addictive game, and I am enjoying it so far. The animals are adorable and I like the filling orders aspect. Although there seems to be a big pacing issue with the game. You can’t earn coins fast enough with the levels you gain. I am constantly having to debate unlocking a new area or building a new building/animal pen. For example, I currently have 2 new spaces to unlock as well as 3 buildings, and still need to buy apple trees. I never open the chests I get because I never have money or gems to spare. So they all get sold for 10 coins. The order board constantly asks for items you haven’t unlocked yet. Some items are locked behind animal quests and you don’t get enough strong exotics or elixirs to proceed with the quests, plus half the time you use your energy to get the fruit for orders instead of attempting the quests. I am constantly out of room in my silo and barn, and the tools to upgrade it come by pretty slow. Plus when you have to have 4 of each tool in your barn, it takes up 12 spaces of space you are already lacking. There’s also so many things going on at once.. sky race, food truck, boats, orders, visitors…. I would love to have some nice stockpiles in my barn to prepare me for all the different types of orders but I don’t have room. ✓ Not a fan of the new versionAbsolutely loved the old version! But I’m not a fan of this new version. I dislike that you can no longer sell your animals for what you want anymore, like decoration coins, tools etc, now you can only sell them for like 20 coins each. I dislike that you can no longer make your own tools in the woodshed. My biggest peeve is always having to purchase apple trees, strawberry beds etc, also dislike how long they last for. If you’re going to make apple trees 400 coin each they should at least last either longer to get more crops or just make them a one buy thing and they don’t die. So messy. So annoying! I also find it harder to breed more uncommon animals, as the only animals we’re rewarded with in the boxes are common. Also the boxes that pop up every time you cut a tree down? Annoying also! ✓ New update makes life really difficultThe new update has overhauled the barn upgrades which is great, but you’ve left most of us hundreds of items over barn capacity with no real way to resolve it. I’ve got my sale spots full, filled all of my production buildings, removed everything I can into the boat and still I’m 100 items over capacity, which makes it impossible to play the game. The reason being is with the continuous updates of events and stuff that they allow you to do the game it gets a bit excessive. ✓ Was Enjoying Until Recent UpdatesI am still giving three stars, and will revise this as the months progress. Recently there was an update that removed storage (decreased my barn capacity from 310 to 330). This was NOT due to the separation of the exotic animal elixir from the barn (that happened a long time ago for me and I understood that change). This new update just took away storage I had paid to get gems for. When I mentioned it to support I got the run around for quite some time, messages about how it was due to the elixir change (even though I stated it wasn’t) then support said that they took away storage to keep the “fun to challenge” ratio good??? I will note that eventually they credited me. After I brought up the point that it is borderline fraudulent to have people pay for in app purchases, and just take away upgrades they’ve earned or even paid for. I understand the updates where they provide a new storage area, like with the elixir; that made sense and I had no problem with that. But I am hearing a lot of people complain that they are just taking away barn storage this week and only giving the “fun-to-challenge ratio” answer. Which is seriously not cool. That creeps into scamming people territory. I never had these issues in FV2. As long as the above stops, I am happy to keep playing the game, I enjoy it a lot and want to keep playing. I find myself constantly selling things that I was saving up for to complete an order because of lack of space. When you level up a team member, the work levels up with them, even if it work to be done is labeled as level 1. And buildings cost more the more you level up. What? ✓ One star for being cute…This game is such a blatant money grab it is insulting, and this is from someone who happily spends $5-10 a month playing Hay Day. It’s nearly impossible to increase storage without paying. You can’t really farm and make things to prepare for boats, villagers, deliveries because you have no storage. If you do complete something, you gets rewards which you don’t have room to store. The energy system is just annoying. Got a space cleared out for a building? When you come back it will be filled back up with weeds and wood and dirt and daisies which you with have to use energy up to clear again. You are forced through mind numbing guessing games that take zero skill or strategy to obtain fruits. I eventually deleted the app, which starts again on level 1, working fine. My barn is constantly full due to the update in combining all barns and now I can’t collect anything from my animals or my farm. I can’t complete tasks because I can’t collect anything that I have prepared. To update my barn it is asking for all these tools that I don’t have but wouldn’t be able to collect anyway as my barn is too full. Even when i do go to update my barn it will only allow a small amount of extra items which does not match the amount of effort I have gone to earn these tools to upgrade. It’s pretty ridiculous that the three things you need the most level up with you. What the point in leveling farm hands if the consumption is going to get more and more the harder you grind. ✓ Starts Off Nice, But Pay Model Ramps Up FastThis game is well designed. It is fast, responsive, and you can appreciate all the details put into it. But that fun dies real fast because you are forced into walls that entice you to pay to progress. That crop farming you love which they advertise? Gotta pay for storage upgrades because you’ll never find the tools to increase storage. Energy cost just to clear a single “blocked” cell is 7-11 points, but you can pay for more though. I can go on and on. If you want a game you can sit on to enjoy and relax, this game will force you out within 10 minutes, but you can pay to stay on it longer - I think you get the point by now. Some people can access special in game events while others can’t. ✓ Buggy hellscape developed by ghoulsI’ve only been playing for about a week now and already there’s a bug blocking my progress. The Nalas Perfect Getaway quest line won’t register as viewed, meaning the quest icon never stops glowing, and when I open the quests, there’s a pop up. I press ‘lets go’ and I accept coin rewards, but the pop up returns, so I press ‘lets go’ again, repeat ad nauseam, until I click the reward chest, where I can only receive the first out of 5+ rewards because I can’t tap through them. The screen becomes unresponsive and I have to force quit the app just to continue playing the game… losing the rewards in the process. I assume this is because behind the reward screen, is the pop up prohibiting me from continuing. Just like when I collect the coin rewards (except at least I can press ‘lets go’ to dismiss… unlike when I get the daily chest). Take notice of all of the other recent reviews and don’t start playing this game. Don’t give them your money. They don’t care about the game, they care about the microtransactions. It’s predatory. I don’t want a developer response promising me they’ll do their best to improve. I want them to fast track these bug fixes and give the people who spent money to upgrade their barns back their storage. Or at the very least gems in return for the money they’ve spent. ✓ Frustrating/impossible gameItems cost a lot of coins which is difficult to stock up coins for the huge amounts needed. Cost of apples, strawberries and blueberries is not compensated when you use up those items. Exotic quests are impossible to get completed. Order board wants items that I cannot make because I can’t get enough coins to open up areas to get to fishing area. Farm animals once they mate and have baby poof then you don’t have animal to make items needed to make goods. Keep hoping game will improve, if fixes don’t make this game better there will be no players. Most people make it to level 5-6 and then hang it up. No longevity in player support! ✓ Going Down Hill.I have been playing this game for a few months now and have really enjoyed it up to this point! However, in a recent update the green ticks have been taken off that used to show you which of the items that you are able to make with the supply’s that you have, this has really upset me and has made my game experience less smooth. ( I have younger siblings who play this game and this really made this game more accessible to them and they now lose interest quicker with not being able to see what can be crafted) also, the most recent museum task that took place (medieval one) did not work on my whole family’s farms, we used to really enjoy working towards the reward as a family in our co-op and we couldn’t do this as only half of us were able to do it and this took the fun out of it for us. How are we supposed to progress with the exotic animals if there is a slim to no chance of getting higher level ones? I’m stuck at Chapter 12 on the map and cannot progress despite leveling up my animals to the maximum. 3. Locked Areas - Why do the animals unlock when the areas are still locked? I currently have 11 water buffalo in my barn in addition to the 5 that are wandering the farm. ✓ Good game but needs some adjustmentsI like the game a lot, it’s really good and there is a lot to do and there are always events which is nice. My issues are exotic animals and decorating the farm. There needs to be a better way to edit and move items. Like the fences, you have to move each piece one at a time and if you have 100 pieces of fence, your clicking and holding to the drag and drop 100 pieces. You can’t zoom out very farm so you only see a little bit of the farm and have to wait for the screen to move while your trying to drag and drop each piece. Exotic animals are dumb, the houses for them take up a lot of space and they don’t do anything for the farm other than help get a couple items needed to make other things. It takes a lot to lvl them. It’s ridiculous how much gold has to be spend to lvl them just a tiny bit. It needs adjusted and made easier to lvl the animals for exotic quests. There are tons of lvls for exotic missions and I’m stuck on lvl 11. I have probably spend close to 100k gold just trying to lvl a couple of exotic animals. Evolving them is ridiculous too. Even more gold you have to spend to lvl them. Gold is hard enough to save in the game as everything costs so much. Just to build a leather shop is 20k. You won’t be able to get very far in this game unless you can spend real money on diamonds to turn into gold and use on other things. Things I noticed: - there are paintbrushes over everything that you can change an appearance on. ✓ Farmhand Energy CostDear Developers, I’ve been playing FarmVille 3 for a little while now, since before the update where Farmhands now use energy. I enjoy the game very much, but I’m finding it increasingly frustrating with how often weeds etc. drop on my farm and how hard it is to “train” my farmhands to make it less costly so I can keep on top of them. Initially I found the weeds to be an interesting quirk of the game, but now with how hard it is to get on top of it I’ve decided it is surely too much and should be made slightly easier to manage. ✓ Money grabWhen I found out that FarmVille 3 was coming out I was so excited. I talked to my husband about it for days before it finally was out for download. I’ve played it since it came out and I am beyond frustrated with the gameplay. I play FarmVille 2 Country Escape and have for years. Not one time have I had to pay for something with my own money to make the gameplay work. Not only are the wait times for crops ridiculously higher (1 hour for one corn, when in Country Escape it’s 2 mins and you get 2 corns) you’ll be waiting days - maybe even a week - to raise the coins to unlock areas. I’m level 16 and still cannot raise enough coins to purchase the sawmill expansion. A reason I think this is the case is because unlike Country Escape, you have to pay coins to plant the crops. If you want to get more coins, you have to plant more, which takes away coins you had saved. My excitement with this game lasted for about a week before I realized it was a money grab. I’m very disappointed. I know this review won’t change the future updates of this game, and it will more than likely continue to be a cash grab, but I want to let others coming from Country Escape know what they can expect from this game. Events are repetitive, being only two events offered, the food truck and the museum event. The player must make the choice between harvesting event stuff or clearing wood, weeds, etc needed for truck orders to gain coins and open animal boxes. I was in the advisory group for this game. ✓ Lots of problems - needs a lot of work to make it appealingThe game relies on the cuteness factor too much, and it takes too long to achieve most goals, the amount of currency or real money purchases is far too expensive for the items/upgrades received. That is one big disincentive so far. The energy needed to clear land, pursue the exotic animal quests, and acquire certain items (wood, clay, stone, etc.) is far too much, making play slow and arguably impossible at times. For instance, trying to clear land to rearrange or build is frustrating when you have weeds and wood reappearing but not enough energy to clear a space at one time. In my version, I have no means to make cream (at level 18 now) despite having all of the production buildings, cows, etc. I tried to contact Help & Support and the chat feature was atrocious. No means to email either, from what I can discern. In the chat feature, it restricts what you can input, demands my email (nope), and gives me choices not even relevant to my initial questions (about the cream). Oh, and acquiring animals is far too slow and expensive. They die after the baby is grown, and so it is a diminishing returns situation. The ads are repetitive and often include highly inappropriate animated scenes of various women being cheated on by their boyfriend, fiancé or husband…all for the “Merge County” game. Training farm hands does nothing to reduce the time of goods production nor does it reduce the farmhand lives for clearing weeds, trees etc. One of the functions in the weather machine is suppose to reduce the cost of clearing junk by 3 lives, it isn’t working at all, everything still costs the same number of lives and the loss of gems for nothing is horrible. There are a number of ways to gain lives, such as watching ads, if only there were ads to watch. Every time I try, there are none. Make ads plentiful. 15 lives for 35 gems isn’t worth it, you’re lucky if you can clear a tree for that. Just One Tree. It costs too many lives to clear an item, and the cost goes up with each level. A cap of 6-7 lives to clear something would be reasonable, would encourage people to play, relax and enjoy the game. Since they rolled out the new version of the game about 4 days ago, the daily tasks hasn’t refreshed. There is suppose to be daily tasks daily with rewards. I subscribed and have paid for a month, but I don’t think I will again, unless these issues are fixed. My animals have started getting a little house icon with a heart in it, which thru research has shown that apparently there’s a version of the game that has a breeding center, but mine doesn’t. You’ve also taken away storage and other quality of life achievements that people have paid money for, which should frankly be against trading standards. ✓ Greed Took The Fun Out Of Farm VilleI played FV ever since it came out in Facebook, and I played virtually every version of it. It was addicting and fun but this version might be the last one I’ll ever play of the Farm Ville series. They made it a lot harder to earn coins - they scrapped the little store where users can trade their excess goods and made the prices of the created goods ridiculously low, one has to pay £4.99 to be in the Diamond Club for 30 days, and what’s worse, they robbed me of 300 diamonds after a month of it (I saved 1000 diamonds and when I renewed, they dwindled to 700), the number of animals actually dwindle instead of multiplying after ‘mating’ and since they limit the number of animals in a coop to only two, it makes it expensive to maintain a certain number of animals to keep production going. Zynga must remember that it’s the regular players like me who enable them to earn through subscription and ads, and there are games like Hay Day that can offer the same gameplay should we decide to drop them altogether. ✓ Oh dear.This 'update' was more a change to a whole new game, and not in a good way. Thousands of coins are needed to buy the new buildings needed to make things I was already making. Plus the wood. ✓ They will take back what you paid forAs with any game you can pay when to hurry thing along, however in this game they may take away what you purchased. Awhile ago they removed elixirs from the barn and gave us unlimited space to hold elixirs. This was awesome and was worth the game taking away some of our barn space for a special tab for the elixirs. Since then there have been a few times I thought I lost space but wasn’t positive. Others have said they knew they lost space. The other day there was another update and I know I lost 25 barn space. Game support said because of elixirs being unlimited they had to remove barn space to keep the balance of the game. How many times do they have to remove space? I spend money to get the last 10 or so tools I need for the upgrade. Even for those that are patient and wait to finally get all the required tools, it isn’t fair to take back what we have worked for or paid for without being compensated. When I use up the last of my gems I will be saying goodbye. ✓ Why remove the green ticks to show what items can be made?It used to be instantly obvious which items could be manufactured. Since the recent update you have to click on everything to see what you have ingredients for. This is an unnecessary nuisance and leads to me making the first thing I can, and then realising I’ve used the ingredients for something else I actually needed. The official reply to the suggestion that this was a bug says that it was changed ‘following feedback’. I cannot believe this! ✓ The updateI really enjoyed the old version of this game but I do not like the new version at all. The energy takes ages to refill after you’ve used it and there’s so many things to clean that cost way too much energy. After I have cleaned some things you give me even more to clean which is extremely frustrating because I don’t have that much energy at all and waiting for 1 energy bolt takes around 2 minutes. ✓ Why?????I’ve spent a lot of time playing this game, it was great, I was happy to spend money on gems. The new update is really disappointing, it’s great that you can choose what item the animals make and that there are more animals to get but the boat is ridiculous, even putting the biggest boat point items in the box’s it never reaches the gold box, there is no point to even attempt it now. Also the 6-7 hours it takes to clear a Bush or tree is pathetic, as is the fact you can’t produce tools in the mill anymore. ✓ Fix the BugsHigher levels = more bugs or loss of advantages. After Level 10, Production Farmhands reach their maximum advantage. However, there are higher levels you can pay 4,000+ coins for no advantage whatsoever! Who does that make sense to? Either give additional production points with higher levels or just upgrade the level at no cost. Elder animals give you stars before they leave the farm but there is no longer a venue to spend the stars! What's the point? They have a lot of engaging activities. However, plan to spend money to get the benefits of the bonuses offered. There are items required for the Food Truck that take over an hour in real time to produce one item... starting with the mulch to plant (15 minutes for 1 piece of mulch) to 30 minutes to grow 1 item (and 4 out of 8 request of higher production items require two plants for 1 item that is also going to take 15 to 20 minutes to "cook." ✓ Fun game BUTI am enjoying this game. I don’t need to play all day, every day, so waiting for more energy, etc, is not as big of a deal to me as it is to some (although it would be nice if it was a bit faster). HOWEVER, what really irritates me is when I receive orders for things I don’t have access to yet. Same with the exotic quests - why would you require exotic animals that are not even *available* for another two chapters in order to progress to those chapters? That doesn’t even make sense. Especially when there is a short time limit. Exotics energy *does* refill far too slowly. My other frustration is that once you get up to the teen levels, there is too much going on at once. It becomes stressful instead of fun. I like events and such but maybe slow the pace down a bit? Or make things you have to produce take less time? I am the type to not mind spending a little bit every once in a while if a game is really good, but I shouldn’t have to (and won’t) sink tons of money to progress once the pace picks up. ✓ Not worth my time anymoreI’ve been playing for a while and have reached a point where it is not worth it anymore. The sky race is poorly grouped, they only focus on bird exotic animals anymore (some don't even have traits), the events are very difficult to complete if you don’t spend real money, and everyone has a different game as there are so many things being tested. The last one is super frustrating to those of us who have paid actual money to play and don’t have any of the new features. The last food truck event reward was my breaking point.
