✓ Pay to winGreat game, I'm enjoying it but my head is still sore from how hard I hit the paywall. Maybe two days into the game and I notice a lot of people I'm fighting have stupidly high level cards.Version: 2.6.0
✓ Very buggy!This is honestly one of my favourite games on the Appstore but it is really buggy. This game constantly crashes on my iPad especially when i enter bounty quests. I was in the top 100 but because of this constant crashing, i am unable to progress on the leaderboard and i am dropping quickly. Please fix this problem..Version: 1.10.0
✓ My reviewGreat game! Low strategy (but fun). The card packs are over priced compared to hearthstone or yu-gi-oh. My main problem is that the game keeps crashing, especially in the deck builder. I'm on the iPhone 4s, and I could probably do with an upgrade, but this is so annoying because I can't add my new cards into my deck with out loading up the game 50 times until it doesn't crash. If they fixed this then I would rate 5. But this is conflicting with my play, also ruining my enjoyment. I love all the content, the card effects etc. the game just needs to run smoothly..Version: 1.22.2
✓ Too long wait and pay-to-winPLEASE REMOVE THE ENERGY FEATURE. The developers just need to remove the energy feature because this is actually a really cool game but you can barely play it. It's so frustrating. Just make it so that you can play it as often as you want instead of have to wait all the time. Also I wish there was some way to make shards ... Maybe convert 1000 gold into one shard or something. Because the way it is at the moment is it is too much pay-to-win as to get the best cards you have to pay. I understand you've gotta make money but the format at the moment is just TOO greedy. I wouldn't mind paying a little bit here and there to get an edge or boost but at the moment it's just too p2w. ✓ Events are too uneven to make it worth playingI was going to give this 5 stars but then they put on the current 'void war' event and I had to give 1 star. This event is incredibly poorly thought out and constantly makes you fight players who are vastly more powerful than you (presumably because so few players like wading through the foetid plop that the event is that it has no choice on who to pair you with). ✓ Fun game BUT...The effort vs reward system is no good. You get very pathetic rewards that are not worth the work you have to put in. The in app purchase prices are outrageous for what you get! I couldn't believe what you are charging. The major component you need to get ahead is the dust. This can't be purchased. ✓ Enjoyable game, but fix the serversVery addicting game. But expect to spend money if you want to compete in the arena. The reason for the lower rating is because of the terrible lag in the arena and the poor touch response. Trying to scroll through my cards constantly opens a card, even though that was not the intent. You need to be very light with your touch to scroll, it should not be that sensitive. I have never seen any other game that had this issue. This is not a graphic intensive game, the lag should not be so bad when playing in the arena, I have given up on live games. Fix these and I will change my rating. Update- I am lowering my rating, the arena issues are so frustrating! It’s bad enough that you have lag on a Low graphic game, but for no reason auto play turns on in the middle of a match. What is the point of having an option to turn OFF auto play in settings if it’s going to turn on by itself for no reason!.Version: 2.20.0

✓ Fun but tedious if you don't want to payThe gameplay and deck building is good fun and the in game mechanics are pretty solid. You acquire new cards fairly often which is great for staying motivated but the waiting times are pretty silly and everything is massively overpriced if you want to speed up your progression. ✓ I dont know how to quit itAddicting, extremely competitive game that you will spend hundreds a month to stay relevant. Drop rates are in the 0.2 - 0.5 % chance until you empty an entire vault so beware. Customer service is also pretty non functional, attempted to recoup missing cards and stones during pulls and received a really generic response, but alas i still play as ive been playing on and off for far too many years. Just be careful spending. I should also mention to the devs that whatever you did to reduce the titan animations makes absolutely zero sense. Spiff up the game already since i know folks are spending small fortunes playing this thing..Version: 2.24.0
✓ PTWA pretty big one too. There are hundreds of cards (which IMO too much) which are waaayy too hard to collect. It takes a bunch of time to get into a good position (i.e lvl10 bounties), gives too little energy to go far at a time, and overall a huge Pay To Win..Version: 2.17.1

✓ Arena after updateThe arena matchmaking after the recent update is horrible. I am rank silver 1 and am consistently matched to people gold 2 plus, making it nearly impossible to win in the arena. ✓ Fun early-midgame, severe p2w endgameThe game is a lot of fun in the beginning. It’s initially fun and rewarding to work your way through the maps, earning cards and other bonuses. Fights are fast, and the art style is bright and colorful. Eventually though, you’ll have to participate in competitive events, and that’s where the wheels fall off. Paid cards, especially paid champions, are vastly better than anything you can earn through gameplay. The primary rewards earned from events are stones to level up champion cards. Stones to upgrade paid champions can’t be earned through playing, only by paying or getting extremely lucky with a chance pack purchase. Buy yourself a strong enough deck and you can consistently rank near the top and rake in the stones while others fight for scraps at the bottom. More stones means stronger champions, which means even higher rankings, increasing the divide between heavy spenders and light spending or free players. There is fun to be had, especially early on, but be prepared to spend a small fortune or a grind for meager resources as you progress..Version: 2.24.0

✓ Great game! expensive pay to win.This game is a lot of fun. The downside is I’m at a place in the game where I need to spend a lot of money to get further. I don’t mind paying a few bucks to support a game and so far I have. But to max out my VIP rewards would cost me at least $200 assuming I need 120 VIP points per level. ✓ It was okay at firstI have been playing this game for a few days now but I have hit a wall. At first all the battles were easy and I basically couldn’t lose. At this stage the map battles and bounty battles allowed you to collect gold fairly fast which then let you get cards fairly fast, but getting enchanting powder was and still is hard to get so you can barely level any of your cards which is what makes your cards stronger. But just recently I have gotten to the point were half of the bounty battles are against legendary heroes with high level legendary and epic cards that just crush me, I also just made it to the live battle arena but everyone I have fought has also has legendary heroes and cards. So from what I have played the game is completely unbalanced to the point were you are crushing your opponent or being completely crushed. The only way your deck can get stronger to compete is with more enchanting powder which you can’t even buy unless you buy expensive bundle packs which still would not give you enough to make your deck competitive. If only the game was better balanced so that battles were challenging but not impossible and enchanting powder was not so hard to get then the game would be great..Version: 2.17.1

Goes to hell once you fight a human opponent who has dropped enough money to get really good legendary cards. ✓ Fun, but plagued with technical issuesI enjoy Spellstone, overall. The deckbuilding and gameplay is fun, with enough variety to keep it interesting. I've found the energy limits to be about right; a bar of energy and hitting the bounty limit and I've had my fill. Shards (the paid currency) are massively overpriced for my liking, but the free rewards come quick enough to keep me sated. However, the app suffers from quite a few technical problems that really hurt it. Turns are often slow to process, with many seconds passing after I've played my card. The UI can be slow too, especially when vaporising and upgrading cards. Worst of all, a large percentage of my games are interrupted by an "Ooops! Something went wrong" message, forcing me to reconnect. This happens over both 4G and a strong Wi-Fi signal, so I don't think the problem is on my end. Fixing the bugs would definitely get me back into the game, so I'll keep my eyes peeled. For now, though, give this one a miss..Version: 1.14.2

I have videos of the skills in game interacting and nobody can explain what is happening because they work some times, and don’t others. Dev hasn’t responded to a support request for weeks. ✓ Must pay hundreds to have fun after level 12After you progress to level 12 or want to be a meaningful member in the weekly events you HAVE to spend money. At first purchases are around $3 which is fine to keep you playing. Then you will hit a wall and at minimum to get 1 card you will spend $20. Most purchases for decent bundles are $30-$100. Basically a good game to play for a couple days then drop it due to the incredible cost expected to play the game. In order to “grind” for one of these cards you can expect to play for around a month or get lucky with the 0.2% drop rate for legendary cards. Have fun..Version: 2.24.0
