UniFi for Negative User Reviews

Messes up console reportingWe have been using this product for a few years, but in the last year it seems to not be working very well. Two situations come to mine just recently on a school site over 200 devices in different buildings and on different vans all reported to becoming through a WAP mesh pro. Once we removed the iOS app from devices that normally connect over the Internet to the unify controller two days later all the numbers were back to the way they should be. This has been a problem even on a controller that has multiple sites. Once the app interacts with that site, the console loses track of what devices are connected to what other devices..Version: 10.12.1

Stop Removing FeaturesBring back the wifi throughput test and a quick way to see which AP current device is connected to..Version: 7.10.0

AR doesn’t work on Pro devicesAs with many other people who’ve reported the same issue on Unfi’s website, the AR mode doesn’t work with Pro iPhones - the camera can’t focus on the QR screen when it’s brought close enough. The issue has been reported to Ubiquity as long as 18 months ago but they’ve done nothing to resolve it..Version: 10.4.1

Good idea just not reliableI spent a good buck on the equipment but every time there is an update or I loose power, I spend days trying to get everything to work again. Just getting equipment to be adopted it a crap shoot at best. The internet is filled with people having issues with adoption yet every new release never solves this issue. Solve that and it would be worthwhile..Version: 7.7.0

There is no zero optionDidn’t connected to the device.Version: 7.2.0

Improved stats...Improved stats by breaking it completely? The new alerts are terrible as well it just spams you with useless things like the experience changed vs the old way where I'd get notice for when my WAN dropped and switched to backup.Version: 6.14.1

Horrible.The darn thing just isn’t stable.Version: 6.6.0

Poor experienceThe company and software went from top notch to unusable garbage in less than 2 years. Very bad..Version: 6.16.0

Missing edit button for wifiLatest version of the app has removed the ability to edit wifi settings..Version: 7.3.0

You broke the appAfter upgrading to the latest version it fails at showing any clients. “No clients found” is just ridiculous :).Version: 8.1.0

Always have to hit try again when logging in...This is annoying... never connects with initial app opening... always have to hit try again 🙄.Version: 6.5.0

New clients view is terrible. Bring back old please. Please revert back to the old client view or at least make it an option to bring it back. Too much empty wasted space and the information I really care about has been made tiny and what I hardly care about is now huge..Version: 6.7.1

Pathetic software. No improvement for yearsGlitchy UI. Incomplete new interface so you have to use the old plus new. Many things are in Beta for years, yet they advertise them as functional services. I returned my dream machine pro as the software was like a broken university project rather than a commercial product that they market as enterprise. Support is unhelpful as they can’t do anything when their engineering is 5 years behind. Ubiquity wanted to think big without any innovation or R&D or fixing any bugs. They will crash hard and go back to what they were: an access point company. Just like RSA security with their secureID, they had ambitions to have many products without investing. Now they are back a secureID company..Version: 8.4.0

Looks nice but still unreliable.I have dual WAN on my UDMP and this app fails to show when my primary WAN is down. It continues to state that the primary is active when it’s not. Also you cannot see your WAN IP in the app - why? Another annoying ‘feature’ is being prompted for a 2FA EVERY TIME I OPEN THE APP!!!.Version: 6.14.1

Less useful nowThe app is generally okay, but the latest update has made the main screen less useful. There is no longer any indication of ISP connection speed, and no uptime display (for me anyway, even though this is buried elsewhere in the app). This makes the app less useful for “at a glance” checking of whether the network connection is okay. Before I could see if the ISP was having problems or if there had been a power cut; now I have to bust out the web controller to check. A backwards step in my opinion..Version: 6.2.0

Inability to restore from auto backupCloud key died when kids unplugged Poe switch(not good in of itself) but the palaver then to recover from an autobackup file was extensive. If the app could recover from an auto backup file after a factory reset life would be simple. Instead I had to download chrome onto household MAC and struggle to connect before (after more messing around) recover from the file... much more painful than it should be.Version: 4.7.2

Can’t log inJust updated to app, go to log in, and it says “account is locked due to too many attempts. Please try again in a few minutes” I just went to log in, haven’t done so in a few weeks. So now I’m locked out from the system and can’t access my AP. I waited a few minutes,, actually a few hours, and it says the same thing. Obviously a weird update bug. Please fix..Version: 6.9.1

Terrible products and companyAfter wasting so many hours fighting problems with Unifi APs and Cloud key controller I truly hate this company. They want to become Apple in consumer networking but nothing works straight away. You have to call help desk and wait for hours in a queue because so many people have problems with their products. Stay away unless you enjoy spending your time reading forums about how to make things working.Version: 5.4.1

Frustrated with layout changesI love unifi, but im growing tired of all the layout changes. Just pick one and go with it for a while. No need to change things every couple months. App works good but still buggy as with anything by Ubiquiti..Version: 6.3.0

Needs more functionalityThis app works well for configuring standalone access points (APs) or running a stand-alone Cloud controller. What is urgently needed is a way to configure simple domestic / small business Mesh networks, comprising 1-5 APs with the ease of use that this excellent app provides. Currently, the only way to create a Mesh WiFi network is via a wired PC, ideally using a Chrome browser, or via a dedicated hardware controller that can configure up to 200 APs; overkill for the scenario described above. Add the mesh capability and this will be a valid replacement for Apple’s wonderful but discontinued Airport series..Version: 4.3.1

Sort by option not functioning wellNot liking this new version very much, older version is much better. -When sorting devices by “Activity” and refreshing, the menu gets messed up, not showing the most active devices on top..Version: 3.5.1

So complicated no idea how to add devicesI have three access points I’m trying to set up and I have been in this app for 30 minutes. Either I’m blind or the add new device button is insanely hidden. Can’t believe it’s this difficult to add a new access point. Finally giving up and returning everything..Version: 7.9.1

Stupid appHardware is very stable but able to be recycled. You can’t even rename the devices you are stuck with the non sense names. Need a lot a lot a lot of improvement. If I have to choose again I won’t by this product just because of this app..Version: 7.1.0

Latest dashboard is a massive step backwardsLatest update adds Speedtest but does not keep a record / display the latest Speedtest result on the dashboard. This was an incredibly value feature in the old dashboard - please bring it back. ==================== The new dashboard default view is so basic it tells you nothing - no visibility of latest speed test... no visibility of network element status. Can see latest speed test result. Not intuitive in anyway. I would have rated the previous app UI 5 stars but this updated version is <1. Please introduce these basic views again or at least introduce the ability to configure the default views based on widgets..Version: 6.3.0

Great features. Shocking UI updateI’ve been using the UniFi app for a while now and can’t fault its features. On par with the desktop app and so good in remote situations. However, the latest update brought with it, a new UI. Seriously not a fan. Colour scheme is way too much and looks really cheap and nasty. It’s almost embarrassing to associate it with fantastic UniFi products. Do us all a favour. Change the designer, fast and revisit this shocking version of a once great app..Version: 3.5.1

Increasingly DisappointingThe latest versions of this app don’t seem to let you archive or dismiss notifications. As a result the widget just keeps showing more and more unread notifications..Version: 6.10.0

Step backwardsBefore the UI I would have given 5 stars. The new front page is terrible and no longer gives me the useful at a glance view of sites I loved. The “everything’s great” feed was really effective and the last speed check speed was perfect on the front screen. I don’t want to see top clients on the front page with huge icons it’s not relevant. Really clunky now, bring back the old app!.Version: 6.4.0

Great products but app needs updatesThe products are great and the web app controller is pretty good but the app doesn’t have the same features even as the web app. For example, you can select a range of dates to view data usage using the web app but on the iOS app it will only show you the last 25 hour usage. If you were to look at screen shots of the app or web app you might think that these things can be configured but in fact, the broad data they show you is pretty much all you get.. Would be fab if it could be updated to be more configurable..Version: 3.0.1

Wireless Scheduling MIANew update seems to have removed wireless scheduling, I now have to login into the controller manually which isn’t 100% mobile friendly either..Version: 6.9.1

Worst system everWhat can I say? The app is designed to set up access points and other systems but once installed, I’m unable to see them. I’ve ended up with a mess I can’t access the access points to switch them off and when I try to find it again, it won’t let the access point rejoin the network. Awful system to use..Version: 6.15.0

Total crapTotal crap.Version: 7.5.1

Used to be goodSo many bugs since the last few updates. For example, block a device- then try to unblock it ( this is useful when identifying a device on the network). Then go get your laptop and unblock it because the app doesn’t. Lots of other similar little niggles.Version: 7.8.1

Cycles to “ready for setup “ after last updateHave had 2 AP (identical)for almost some time but since last update 1 APCycles to “ready for setup “ after last update and i am unable to configure AP even after multiple restarts and factory resets. Please fix issue.Version: 10.0.0

More and more features removedApp keeps having stuff removed. Wifi throughput test etc. Slowly becoming a pointless app. Developer claims its in The wifi man app. This is a different feature that requires a udm router while the feature I mentioned does not. They know this and are deflecting because have been told many times. Stop lying..Version: 8.0.0

Good, but missing most dashboard functionalityThe app is a bit of a mixed bag - on one hand, it does let you configure most of your network very simply and quickly on the go. Sadly, it does it in differing ways to the web console, so any navigational muscle memory you’ve built up isn’t going to help you find what you need, because entire sections of the controller UI are in different places, or missing entirely. The dashboard is also missing almost all of the widgets and information that get configured via the web controller, which means no quick “at-a-glance” checks on your network from your iPhone/iPad. I am happy this app exists, but it is missing a bunch of stuff..Version: 5.4.3

Generally this app is fantastic. However the vlan is inGenerally this app is fantastic. However the vlan settings for wlans does not show the id set in the web ui! Even if one sets the id in the app it still shows no id set upon reviewing the setting. This used to work fine. thanks for a great app and gear..Version: 6.1.0

Cloud based authentication is wrong and stupidUDMPro is not an upgrade. It forces a very bad design choice for authentication on its administrators. All this is going in the WRONG direction, from a company who recently proved it is NOT trustworthy. Avoid Ubiquity if you can!!!.Version: 6.9.0

Can't find AR in SettingsOtherwise a great app.Version: 7.9.1

Not user friendlyHave two houses that i use ubiquity gear in, the 8 port controller and acpro access points used at both locations. When i log into the unifi app i see a cloud key from one house-A and an acpro from the other house-B, but nothing else. I use these devices all the time so they are operational but not shown ? The 8-port switch works for the POE devices but not for non-POE, so the wifi network via acpro is up but all other ethernet devices down. This is the second time this switch has failed. How come u can’t discover, log in and upgrade controller the way u can for a device. The general comment is that the equipment is shaky and user interface is weak making it difficult to debug.Version: 6.2.0

Device is ok but app ughApp is horrible and hard to use. If I had to choose again I would’ve gone with a different brand. Stuck in UI hell.Version: 6.10.0

Sites button goneThere must have been a recent update to this app that meant the sites button in the upper right is gone. Bit frustrating.Version: 6.3.0

The new layout is hard to followI liked the old app quite a bit better. This new layout they are trying to force on mobile and desktop users takes quite a few more steps to make simple changes. I’m glad they’ve left the option on the desktop app to use the older interface, I wish they’d do the same for the mobile app, there’s so much missing..Version: 6.14.0

New dashboard is awful and useless!Bring back the old dashboard. It had switch and port utilization stats, live switch traffic, and more. Idgaf about the row of top clients and apps. The Utilization bar is meaningless without any key or frame of reference. Moving the list of sites to the ... is bad meanwhile top left and top right buttons basically take you to the main list of controllers. Fix it, or at least make it customizable with the same widgets that were in previous app versions. Seriously, stop the needless design changes, settle on one Pantone number for the blue logo color and stick with it, and stop oversimplifying the interface when you’re trying to impress SMB and “enterprise” folks..Version: 6.2.0

Can't connect anymoreIt seems like the latest firmware update of my Dream Machine locked me out of my desktop (was able to get back in by switching the usual 8443 port to 443 but nobody told me that?) but the iOS app will no connect anymore. The support is non existant, which is a shame for a product that costs this much..Version: 6.6.0

UsersUseless.Version: 6.6.0

Why can’t I disable a wifi?How difficult would it be to add a toggle to disable/enable a wifi network?!.Version: 8.2.0

Oh MyThis app sucks big time can’t login into UniFi wireless access point at all. Try everything but nothing. And it’s not the user fault as I do have a commercial grade firewall box running in my home so I do have very strong understanding of all things networking..Version: 6.15.2

Dark mode is broken in latest iOSIt used to be an option. Now it says it will follow what the controller dark mode is set to which is also set to dark mode but iOS is ignoring it and is stuck in white mode with no way arohnd it. Broke something that wasn’t needing fixing..Version: 5.0

Appalling treatmentBuyer beware, ubiquity treats their customer's hardware purchases with contempt and have little regard for the expense to update existing clients. We have endured all sorts of ridiculous redundancy over the years with Wi-Fi, and now these security camera systems have been made redundant with stupid cloud two updates. Other systems by other companies still run after a decade, and these guys make you for shell out more cash for their indulgence in questionable updates. All this hysteria about other security camera providers is just ridiculous e we hen you consider what these upstart brats have done to bleed another dollar. I now direct clients to other platforms because it’s not worth the embarrassment to go back and tell them UniFi will ask for more cash..Version: 6.5.0

Cannot Reach APUnable to join the network..Version: 10.12.0

Ok until it isn’tThe app is really useful to work out what’s happening when something doesn’t work. However, it is difficult to register with and when I changed my phone it just refuses to recognise me even though Face ID is on and the password and user ID is correct.Version: 6.12.0

BrilliantI have multiple sites on a central controller as well as cloud keys and the app is all I need :) That’s what I wrote back in mid 2019… What I can say now is… There’s clearly an employee or contractor who is paid per change they make, or they might have extremely poor impulse control and like twiddling with things that ain’t broke! I have moved my controller locally to do away with costs on aws and I now supply a different brand and only use ubiquiti where existing sites need additions Had 700+ sites 2200+ devices and on average 4000+ clients now those numbers decrease by approx 30 sites annually 👋.Version: 7.3.1

Somewhat confusingI am yet to access the controller, always comes up with timed out. I can easily and clearly see who and what devices are connected to my system. The actual wifi Unit works a treat with no blank spot around the house and out in the yard. I will keep working at it..Version: 5.0.4

New Client list is very badThe new client list is awful. I wish i could go back to previous release. This new list is totally useless.Version: 6.7.1

Not working on IOS deviceDosent work on my IOS device, the loading/connectivity just keeps thinking and never connects. The only time it allows connection on the app is when you are connected and online through the network app on your PC which essentially makes this mobile app useless. This needs to be fixed for this app to serve any purpose.Version: 10.8.0

Terrible appJust setup a cloud key and fail to connect, basically you can’t change the DHCP server, or it will have connection issues, it didn’t say what’s the failure, just keep spinning to connect.Version: 6.5.0

Dark ModeI noticed that the Dark Mode setting disappeared on this app. When will it come back?.Version: 10.13.0

Difficult to Navigate Constantly Changing MenusI’ve used the UniFi system for a number of years now, and have been impressed with how development has continued to focus on integration of all features into the app. However, with this most recent update, I have three major problems: - All text labels have been removed in favor of an “icon only” theme in central app areas. This is really silly for those of us who have multiple systems to manage and don’t have time to keep re-learning icon sets as UI changes them. Bring back the labels, please! - “Sites” button in upper right is now in a three dot menu alongside the primary site info. This is absolutely ridiculous. Again, as a managed service provider with multiple sites to manage, this is just an extra unnecessary step, and is not intuitive at all. Please make “Sites” a primary menu option available at ALL times from the main site overview screen. - Can’t access alerts. There appears to no longer be a menu option to access the alerts generated in a site, so we have no idea what the alert is about and can’t silence it without going to a desktop computer. For reals??!? Needed to have someone who uses the app on a regular basis review before pushing this out... please bring back this functionality..Version: 6.2.0

Some features are not working properlyFor example you cannot change led colour (after different colour is selected from pallet there is no button to save).Version: 10.9.0

Crashes on app after last 2020 updateGood job on the update as my app won’t even open anymore without crashing. Has no issues before the latest UI changes. And to make matters worse there’s no clear way to contact the devs about this bug since the app support button just goes to their main site. 💁‍♀️.Version: 6.5.0

Clueless AppAll of a sudden, app is not accepting my login. The same credentials are working on the the portal. I raised a support case and they are not even ready to listen. Not allowing me to add the device again as well. Tried 100 possibilities to deal with this app and none of them is successful. This is just an attempt to inform them as support team is failing to answer simple questions..Version: 6.9.1

Not functionalRubbish compared to previous versions.Version: 6.2.0

WiFi Schedules removed from new app versionHi, although it came back for a while, the really useful ability to manage schedules has gone yet again! The ‘edit/ advanced’ option has been removed again after you click on your SSID, it’s not present in the current version 7.2.1. Please can we have this back again..Version: 7.2.1

Latest release ruins an excellent appThis app used to be all I needed to administer and troubleshoot my network but the latest release has dumbed it down to be almost useless. Can we have the diagnostics back please..Version: 6.2.0

Crash updateThe new update is bad now I cannot set up the WiFi because it lost the save button.Version: 7.7.0

Worked great until I changed the standardAPI changed the standard AP and now I can’t log into the AP..Version: 6.16.0

The app is as good as their hardwareI have been very disappointed in ubiquity. They advertise clear and easy to use and monitor networking equipment; however, that’s just their marketing. In actuality, there equipment and software is not production ready and doesn’t provide information regarding error it experiences. I have been working to two weeks to get their nanohd working. It lead me to download this app. After removing all their equipment from my network and attaching only the nanohd. I went to connect to it using this app. The progress circle completed to about 95% then stopped and wouldn’t continue. This is common user experience with Ubiquity’s products. They never work and most the time don’t tell you what the issue is. Save your money stay away from this company..Version: 6.5.0

Last update is brokenThe most recent update seems to have broken my connections to my controllers. It just keeps flipping between directly connected and not connected. Completely unusable and really makes trouble shooting when on site a huge pain..Version: 7.11.1

It’s pretty, and dumbI’m not sure what qualifies as a “controller” in this app’s mind. It refuses to see the one on the Windows machine running on the same bloody LAN. It finally found my access point (but not my EdgeRouter X, because that’s apparently a Totally Different Thing than UniFi). But it won’t let me manage it ... because it’s being managed by the Windows controller the app can’t see. WHY DOES THAT MATTER!? WHY CAN’T TWO DIFFERENT CREDENTIALED CLIENT DEVICES JUST QUERY AND DISPLAY ACCESS POINT DATA, GENIUSES? Oh, but maybe we know why. Maybe this has something to do with me not letting the copy of Java on my Windows box talk to outside networks, cutting the UniFi controller off from the WAN. Maybe Ubiquiti’s app can’t do diddly on the local network without phoning home to momma for the data goods.......Version: 4.5.1

Awesome, but......I bought this equipment based largely on the augmented reality feature. I don’t see anyone else complaining, so perhaps I’m missing something. But the AR view simply isn’t working. App just goes white screen and no escape other than to kill the app and re-open. I love everything about this equipment and the apps so far. But why is my AR feature not working? Please reply, thanks..Version: 6.14.1

No time period reporting or speed test resultsIt’s generally a good app but it is missing key features like selecting time periods to see traffic stats for a particular period. It’s also missing any reports on network speed tests. You can see the last result only. So if you’re wanting to see if your main ISP link was out and for how long you can only see this in the web dashboard..Version: 5.0.4

BrokenOnce again..Version: 10.6.0

What?Your last update... first setting I saved cause me to factory reset my UDM!! Cmon!.Version: 6.9.1

Custom dashboards gone! 👎I spent a lot of time customizing dashboards for myself and my customers. The latest update removes these customizations and replaces it with what Ubiquiti thinks is best for all. Problem is this new dashboard isn’t helpful at all and provides maybe one metric that’s worth looking at? The app has enough other problems that I was content to silently use it in a pinch when I don’t have a full browser available, but this is ridiculous. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but to me it’s deserved. We pay a lot of money to buy into an ecosystem that promises flexibility and control over our environments, and this is so far from that expectation that I felt I had to speak up. Happy to change my review but not without putting some control back in our hands or at least a very good explanation as to why the change is necessary (I’ve searched forums for a reason and they seem to be quiet on the subject)..Version: 6.3.0

Crashing on M1 MacOpens then closes, please test on all devices before you release!.Version: 7.2.0

Doesn’t connect properlyIt is not useful because can’t connect.Version: 6.14.1

Unusable interfaceNo longer showing the Dashboard with all the widgets. Now it only shows useless stuff..Version: 6.5.0

Still buggy12/27 update: To developers: They ARE set correctly in the Protect app and I’ve told you that. It’s the UniFi Network app that’s buggy. UniFi Network has a mind of its own. This app has so much potential but it’s been woefully buggy for almost a year. I’ve reported the bugs numerous times but the idiots who handle bug reports repeatedly ask for information I’ve already sent. Biggest issue: UniFi cameras. UniFi Network will NOT allow me to rename cameras. If I attempt to rename a camera I get a “Something went wrong…” pop-up and have to back out. Worse, it renders camera with parentheses or apostrophes as Xs. I used to have a cameras called “Front Porch (N)” and “Front Porch (S)” but those turned to Front-Porch-XNX” and “Front-Porch-XSX” about 8 months ago and those names no longer can be changed. I’m stuck with those names. I reported it back when it first happened and numerous updates later, Ubiquiti Network STILL can’t control any of the 11 UniFi cameras I have connected. I can’t adjust the IP addresses, either. Yep. If I try that I get that stupid “”Something went wrong” pop-up. Fix this!!.Version: 7.3.0

Getting worseChanges for the sake of changes. Not sure why developers insist on taking something good and making it irrelevant. Please roll this thing back a few updates to when there was useful client info..Version: 6.10.0

Pretty good app, but please improve.Generally this app has a large degree of functionally regarding setup and control of your UniFi hardware. However, the appeal has exceeded the actual usefulness for me. Things that should be easy like searching for new access points or switches worked zero percent of the time. I had to go back to the desktop PC and web interface to made the new hardware adding process work. Likewise, something simple like adding your DNS servers (say openDNS) is not easy or intuitive. Much of the functionality is hidden under layers and layers of options, which is a undesirable thing when you have a mobile device as your user interface. I also feel like the screenshots for the app tend to appear very useful, for example monitoring specific traffic to social media sites, but in truth there is very limited access to this type of information through the app. In all fairness, I am not a network professional, which appears to be the demographic ubiquiti is catering to, but there is an expectation when you put some thing out on the Apple store, that it will be easy for your typical consumer to use. Networking is black magic and someways, so this is a very difficult task for the developer. My advice would be to consider less technical users when you develop your smart phone applications becauseI think these are the folks that will use these applications, unlike the IT professionals who prefer the desktop web based interface..Version: 6.1.0

Awesome ideaI really want this App, but on my Iphone 4S (iOS 7.1.2) it crashes every time, even after a reset. Looking forward to an update (or a newer iphone for me) to give it a try..Version: 1.2

AR needs updatedUniFi Network AR function that I would like to see. The AR function is awesome and will be a great tool for IT administrators. One thing I would like to see is I would like to use the AR and see my port names that I have assigned instead of what you see plugged into the port. Reasons for this is the ports where my Access points are plugged into show not the APs themselves but it randomly changes what is shows and it is a different wireless device all the time. Another issue is a port I have my hyper V server plugged into changes the device it shows as well since I have multiple VMs going out that port. Port names needs to be a function that we can enable and disable! 5 stars when that is fixed! Thank you.Version: 5.7.1

U6 lite configuration weirdnessIn contrast to my UAP AC LR, I would need to restart the unit after saving configure settings. Also it keeps telling me there’s a firmware upgrade available but to the same one and upgrading goes through process but same update number persists after update. U6 lite setup as a standalone device..Version: 6.6.0

No local only managementThe app simply won’t find my local only controller. If I turn remote access on it will work, not acceptable..Version: 7.4.0

Fooled me twiceUnifi has somehow kept a reputation for being “prosumer” equipment, but for the second time in 7 years I’ve shelled out $2000+ for a full Ubiquiti Unifi setup, and for the second time I’ve been massively underwhelmed. For background, I’m a hardware and network engineer. There’s no shot that I’m missing knowledge here, and when I am, there is a massive community online to troubleshoot even the simplest setups (which is hard to not see as anything but a result of the near constant bugs, glitchiness, firmware updates bricking components, etc. associated with Unifi products). I was dismayed to find that even this app is subpar. Sure, there’s more to fiddle with and tune, but the app crashes spontaneously, and I’d rather not have to fiddle with/tune things after I’ve set them up. Worse, Unifi seems to be going the “forced obsolescence” route with hardware. I am sitting directly beneath a UAP-AC-PRO connected to my brand new UDM Pro SE and have worse dBi levels than my cheapo, ISP-provided router that is 3 rooms away with 6 walls between us. Either Unifi hardware is garbage, they’re nerfing the defaults, or I’m just the worst network engineer ever. It’s high time Unifi becomes synonymous with the subpar, headache-filled experience that it is. If you want good performance for a tenth of the cost and 20th of the headaches, use anything else. TP-Link, Whatever.Version: 8.1.0

One step forward, two backI am really happy to see an update and it all seems to work really well! It’s still miss several features, but I know they’re coming! The problem I actually have are the colors. They are very bright and hard on the eyes, and I’m young. Maybe it’s the OLED screen on the X, but I think they are too bold in general. They just need to be a little softer. I do like the definition between the colors though. I love the new icons/tabs at the bottom of the screen. They look really slick. I know this is also very nitpicky, but I really, really, dislike the new app icon; of a UniFi AP. UniFi is so much more that Access Points at this point, it’s an entire ecosystem and network. I really don’t think having an Access Point as the icon is appropriate and I just don’t want to click on it. It makes me cringe. Maybe it’s because it looks too much like a weird button? I’m fine if you want to update the icon (it needed it), but I really wish it would be reflective of the whole product line. The old icon was great. Maybe just some fresh colors and make it flatter. Less is more now a days, which I feel is how the app is headed, which I like, aside from that icon. Please, please, change it. Maybe a picture of a network jack? I don’t know, but not an access point that is so nondescript, that it looks like somebody’s poor implementation of a button..Version: 3.5.1

Poor UpdateUpdate 15th May 2022, FINALLY after all these weeks the App is working as it use to be! NO “Getting Ready” anymore, the App loads correctly. Thank you Update 23rd March, obviously your not listening to the original problem and just updating how you feel, but still I get “Getting Ready” and wait 15 seconds before I can even open the App! Brilliant update again!!!!!!!!! Update on the 3rd March still exactly the same! Problem still the same and no further forward!!! I can’t put below 1 star, but this new update certainly needs -5!!! This new update has made the App slower. When you open the App you get a message saying “Getting Ready” which stays there for 15 seconds. You then have to wait for the App, then tap configure, and wait again for the AP to load. Backwards improvement in this update! Why make things worse, very disappointed! Update…. I don’t “Reach Out”, but would like the App to be backdated to the working version option. I have contacted you, but no reply from yourselves. Update 1st March, still nothing of an improvement..Version: 7.8.0

Can not see APTried many times to connect to network. Will not recognize AP . Says it sees QR code when it’s no where near it . Will not connect with Mac entered manually . Waste of 150.00 look else where for wifi extender ..Version: 6.14.0

Version 6.2 no good. The previous versions of this app were perfectly fine, with everything I needed on the dashboard. The November 2020 “update” is a pile of steaming “stuff” with a horrible dashboard layout which it seems can’t be changed. Disabled APs are now displayed as a big banner as being disconnected, which is true, however the “disable” option should suppress this warning. Sometimes app updates are fine & make change for good, but not with this one. There was nothing at all wrong with the previous version of this app..Version: 6.2.0

Doesn’t work on IOS anymore *** UPDATEDoesn’t work on IOS anymore so don’t bother downloading if you use an iPhone *** Not sure what happened but after posting this review I got feedback from a developer and magically it works again… so I’ll change it to 3 stars for now and if it stays connected I will increase, if it doesn’t connect again then I lower.Version: 7.6.1

Was mistake to update to v8Having updated the UniFi app to v8, I find it’s not compatible with my UniFi console software (that’s running on a Mac mini). No doubt Ubiquity tested the new app against their Cloud Key device, but not against other platforms. And thanks to iOS, I can’t downgrade back to the previous version of the app (that has been working just fine for ages)..Version: 8.0.0
