See, there’s this glitch in one of my plays where it’s just hot ALL THE TIME. And it’s not even summer! I could just explore the game and what it had to offer. Also, not to mention, I think some knight boats randomly spawned near my base for some reason even though I asked for fewer. I’m pretty sure they weren’t there when I first discovered the island, so I’m not sure why they’re there now! But my favorite way to play is relaxing on the sofa on my iPad Pro — it’s just so portable and the size is perfect! Unfortunately, the bugs make it too frustrating. An example? Instant overheating when I enter the volcano, no matter what I wear or do or what season it is. I’ve never been able to unlock Woodlegs. That’s the most frustrating one for me. If you play on Steam I’ve heard there’s a mod to correct this, but no such thing exists on iOS. I’ve also run into a bug where my last action just keeps repeating and the only thing that fixes it is to save and quit, and one where when I sail off of the edge I keep bouncing back and forth without getting to the ocean. But those went away with a save & quit. The volcano one is a game-killer. If you go to Klei’s forums (where they direct you if you have a problem) you’ll see pages of people listing bugs and almost all of them have hundreds of views and zero replies. ✓ IPhone XS Max black barsAn update which suppose to fix iPhone XS layout made it worse, added three black bars along sides and bottom of the screen. Previous version which was full screen was perfect, there is no need to add bars, instead keep camera notch on the right hand side so it doesn’t cover toolbar. It actually looks now like game is not optimised for iPhone XS:-( Please at least add toggle option in the menu to allow full screen on iPhone XS Max and probably X and XS as well. It's not that huge or detailed. Random generation of some trees and rocks should take seconds. The worst problem is battery drain. On an iPhone 6 with a good condition battery, this game takes 50% of the battery in about 20 minutes and leaves it very hot to the touch. Nothing else has ever done this to this phone. ✓ Inventory has been broken for over a yearEvery time I start a new world, at some point there is an issue where if you select something from your inventory, you can no longer access any menus. For example, last time I went to equip my axe, it doesn’t let me equip it, the movement joystick will reappear on my screen, and from that point on the only thing I will be able to do is run. There is no way to save, no way to access inventory, which means I have to force close and lose everything from the last save point. This has happened so many times, honestly I quit playing. The game itself is good, and klei is great, but without any resolution for this issue this game is unplayable. I’ve had the game for over a year, haven’t played in probably 6 months, tried again today and had the same issue happen almost immediately. I’m on iPhone XR, all of my updates are current. However the main Don't Starve has just had a patch for BT pad support so I don't understand why this one doesn't have it... would really like to use my iOS pad with this so will go five star when this gets added. ✓ Wonky controls!Ok so first, I love the Don’t Starve series, I have both Don’t Starve and Don’t Starve Together on PS4 and I have to say, that experience is miles ahead of this port for the following reasons: 1. When using the virtual joystick to control your character, if you try to use both the joystick and your action buttons, the joystick will freeze in the current direction you have it as long as the action button is held. Can this be fixed? It’s a huge annoyance when trying to harvest materials and the character walks right by them and gets killed. 2. When utilizing a chest, it is absolutely impossible to see what is inside it. I’ve noticed that when you select your current inventory, it zooms in so you can see the contents, why can’t chests and Packim Baggins do the same thing? That’s a huge annoyance as well for someone like me who loves coordination. 3. Instead of having to use two fingers on the top or bottom to switch viewing angles, why not have arrows on the upper corners of the screen like the bumper inputs on a PS4 controller? Having to use two fingers is wonky as hell since half the time you’re zooming in and losing all focus anyhow. ✓ Love this game! But...BUG REPORTI love this game! I saw a Youtuber (credit to Gopher&Chay) play this and I just had to have it and seeing it on iOS just made me jump for joy. It is the game I wanted but of course with any newly added game to iOS there are bugs and here is what I have observed. 1. When I hold down the harvest key to collect berry bushes, grass tuffs, saplings, etc with a shovel, to replant them, sometime is doesn’t harvest the berries or items before digging them up and this causes the bushes to glitch and become unusable. 2. When using the joystick sometimes it get stuck and the character goes running off in a direction for no reason. 3. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD fix the issue where I can’t use the joystick and hold down the harvest key at the same time. 4.
