Glitches take away from the experienceI enjoyed the game and found the story compelling. Unfortunately when I reached an ending the game glitched and I wasn’t able to know what happened. It was a very disappointing considering the time I put in. Can’t recommend playing the game while this glitch exists. Would do another play though if fixed..Version: 1.6

Just okTwo problems, this could be great if you could actually do more to help such as check plane departures, road closures, camp status, maps, train times etc, rather than just click two text options, half the time the app reply’s for you, so you don’t even get a choice. Secondly the character you are helping isn’t very appealing, she’s arrogant and repulsive, so I care not one bit wether she survives. That’s the main problem I find. It’s hard to care what happens to her and that ruins the whole game. Every time she signs off with a frustrated or angry emoticon I care less and less if she lives or burns in a tent fire. 🔥.Version: 1.5

I’m confused!I work for a refugee charity, so was really interested to find out about this. I have no problems with how the game is played. It’s vital that stories like this are told and there’s a lot of realism via the real-time playing mode and the dialogue, itself. My main issue is that I managed to get Nour to her destination, she was waiting to hear about her decision to be able to stay and then I was told her journey ends but without explanation. I’m not even sure if it was a positive or negative ending to the game! It felt as though it were negative but there was no reason given for why she was returned home (If she was) and this made the experience oddly flat. If she was refused, I would have expected a message to say why. Also, if that’s the case, how can I, as a player, change that decision? If she was accepted, then surely I should be notified, and some celebration of the fact be incorporated? I’m playing again as I find the stories fascinating but I don’t hold out much hope for any kind of satisfactory conclusion as a player. This is a shame because I’d really like this game to be successful for people who aren’t, currently, strongly interested in the refugee crisis. It has to work very well as a game in order for the story to reach people. I’ve also read the reasons from the developer for no money from the game currently going to help refugees and have some issues with them. I understand that the producers need to recoup the cost of the game first but not the excuse that ‘we’re not activists so it’s not important’. I think that many would be more inclined to try out this game if as least a small percentage of the profits were going to charity, so expenses would be recouped faster, overall. Once costs were covered, I think 50% (or more) of the cost should be donated. Profiting from others’ tragic stories looks quite distasteful to the average consumer and, although I don’t think this is the intention of the developers, this is what appears to be the situation for many who have not researched how this game. I hope my points here are helpful to those involved in making this game..Version: 1.4

Waste of my money!Nothing about this game was worth a dime. Should’ve been free. All I’m doing is reading messages and clicking on responses that I don’t even prefer, but have no other choice. The most boring game ever. Didn’t have a hint of brain stimulation. It’s just like eavesdropping on strangers’ conversation. All you’re doing is listening to them talk. Waste of time and money!.Version: 1.6

Pretty interestingFun to type with your bae. Super cool that the chat goes in real time. And for those who don’t like that, can just turn it off. Story takes a while to take off, but I like chatting with Nour, because he/she feels so lifelike! But I do get pretty annoyed at the lack of options sometimes. I’ll wind up sending an emoji even though I hate those things just because I want more variety in what I say. A lot of it leads down the same path too. You do make big choices, but the big choices are rare. I understand its based off a real life conversation, but I don’t want my fate to be set in stone from the get-go. The beauty of these types of games, is you make your way to the end, and depending on the choices you’ve made you can have completely missed scenes or unlock totally new ones that others didn’t experience. The game does do this, but seldom. Still had fun playing..Version: 1.5

Great text story but glitchyIt’s a nice story but kinda glitchy. Sometimes it won’t let me listen to voice recordings and it spasms every time I try to scroll through past conversations. Please update these glitches!!! I want to be able to play this game smoothly 🥺 also I would like to have a history of all the endings I’ve gotten so far, I think it would be cool..Version: 1.6

Worth revisiting with a new formatI really wanted to love this game for its smart dialogue, multimedia use, and relevancy to real-world scenarios that expand cultural knowledge. While all those things were amazing, polished, and well-executed, the fact is that the text-interface rendered the game lifeless and tedious. In-game choices could be as vapid as choosing which emoji to send, and the consequences for your choices were almost random. I cared less and less when the main character checked-in via text, and when I reached one ending, I didn’t think the game had enough replay value to try again. For the price it’s worth it merely for the great scripting, but the game did not hold my interest..Version: 1.4

Buggy implement, railroaded storyThis game is interesting in concept and well written to some extent, but it ended up railroading me into a ending that I thought I had been carefully avoiding with every choice I had made. The end result was an unsatisfying story that made no sense narratively. At a technical level, this game presents itself as a simple text message interface which should be the easiest thing in the world for a game to implement—iOS has built in support for scrolling views after all—but it’s completely broken: attempting to scroll back to read what happened previously jitters and jumps around, text is drawn stacked on top of other text making it impossible to read, there are huge gaps between text bubbles requiring you to scroll multiple screen lengths, sometimes it is solid black, etc. The game is basically playable but there’s no way to read the story that came before..Version: 1.6

Watching texting isn’t very entertaining.I bought this based on positive review in Verge. I’ve spent most of the time watching texts fly by with only occasional interaction. Not very enjoyable..Version: 1.2

Recording won’t playI liked this game and the story but my end recording won’t play.Version: 1.6

Glitchy and no longer opensI’ve been playing and enjoying this interactive novel but suddenly I can no longer start it up. It immediately crashes. I’m on iOS 14.2 on a XS Max. Things were going okay and now it just refuses to open. Before this I noticed a ton of crashes when using the map feature, and sometimes the text messages would get jittery, weirdly space out, or go missing altogether. The real time functionality is inconsistent too, as are the notifications. This really needs to get sorted out because it’s a lovely and important story many need to hear..Version: 1.7

Recommencement éternelC’est bien, mais quand on se trompe, il faut recommencer au début. Pas moyen de recommencer à une certaine étape..Version: 1.3

BuggyThe game will not even open for me, it’ll start to load and then the app will close out without even getting to the start screen.Version: 1.6

Hate itIt won’t even let me into the app.Version: 1.6

No ending!Spent hours playing this game, only for the audio that I think is supposed to reveal the ending doesn’t work! (Yes, I have my audio settings on.) Disappointed as this was an interesting game with a lot of potential, but I want to know how the story ends, and I’m not going to chance playing it again to see if it works differently the next time..Version: 1.6

Super glitchyI could have enjoyed this app if it weren’t for the glitches. If I tried to go back and read texts from previous days the screen would shake and flicker and glitch out and I could only read the last few texts from that day. Horrible bug that made my head hurt and super disappointing because I couldn’t refresh my memory on what happened since I was last on..Version: 1.6

No ending in iPadWasn’t able to hear the ending, recording wouldn’t play.Version: 1.6

Story progress lost on app updateWell, my love won’t be buried. She’s been lost to the ether. After months of casual play, I guess there was an update to the app, and my story progress has been reset to zero..Version: 1.5

RubbishWhat's this about? There's no fun here. I stayed with it and if you enjoy reading a badly written conversation between 2 people in a very real eye opening situation give it a try. Still one star though as it's not a game..Version: 1.2
