Neverwinter Nights for Positive User Reviews

A great port and quick fixes by the developersNWN is a great game. Between the main quest, the 2 expansions, and the free modules (more adventures) there is so much content to enjoy if you like old school CRPG games. Although the game is suggested for iPads, I find that is fine on an iPhone 11. Shout out to the developers both for keeping apps universal, knowing some people might complain despite being warned of tablet optimization, and for being on top of squashing iOS port bugs very quickly..Version: 1.0.1

Can you add autosave when enter a new location? And a back up quick save Would be even better.Version: 1.0.3

Can’t play TotallyThis is my first time to write the review. I bought this and all DLCs first it released. But why every time I save the game, it crash? It totally ruins the game!!! Developers please answer my question..Version: 1.0.1

The QuintessentialThere are very few good RPG’s (IMHO) found within the IOS ecosystem. And yet every once in awhile I get sucker punched by quintessential grassroots RPG’s like this gem coming over. Like BG1, BG2 IWD, all Spiderware Games and most recently Atom RPG, THIS game is a staple of CRPG gaming lore. You can and WILL get lost in all the details, storylines, character builds and atmosphere. And to think- many years ago a CRPG of this caliber could only be played at a desktop or lugged around via laptop. Now...we’ve got all that RPG goodness (and vastness- 100hr +) in our pockets. Bravo Overhaul, you get my hard earned money..Version: 1.0.0

Great game. Add more portraitsAdd the enhanced portraits from the community.Version: 1.0.6

Great portI’m having issues with loading the free dlc I plan on purchasing the rest of the dlc when I get the chance I’m just hoping you folks can fix the issue thanks. Updated review the dlc is working fine now honestly it’s a great game so far..Version: 1.0.0

BrillAnd it looks and feels WAY better than pc version I remember. I always hated using a frigging pc keyboard as a controller.Version: 1.0.4

Absolutely amazing!Wish there were more games like this on the App Store.. Thank you for this port!.Version: 1.0.0

Crashes on savesUpdate: Thank you to the developer team! The zoom setting is what was causing it. That has fixed the problem and now it works as intended. This game is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, it crashes every time you try to save, so it’s impossible to play. The crash happens no matter how you try to save, so unless you can play for the hundred ish hours of content straight through, you can never get fat in the game. Hopefully it will be fixed soon..Version: 1.0.1

Nostalgia overloadSimply put I love it!dont mind the odd frame drop and crashes this happened on pc and still does when played through steam I would love to see a port of nwn2 to iPad with all dlc motb and storm of zeir be good to see kelgar and neeska have there funny dialogue exchanges with quara and elenee.Version: 1.0.4

A great classic! This is one of my all time favorite games, and the first dnd game I ever played. This Enhanced edition for iOS works great and looks beautiful. If you enjoy this type of game, I would highly recommend..Version: 1.0.1

Excellent portBeen waiting for a long time, happy to say it’s a great port. It runs perfect on my iPad, has comfortable controls, and has the same server listings as the PC version, with cross-play. At $10 it’s a steal..Version: 1.0.0

Game freeze when learning spellsI’m having an issue with the game freezing every time I try to learn a new spell?.Version: 1.0.0

Get this. Now!One of the best DND games comes to IOS. If you enjoy DND you must get this game. So much depth and amazing customisation. Given how many hours you’ll spend in Neverwinter it’s one of the best investments you’ll ever make game wise..Version: 1.0.0

Beautiful! How beam dog transformed this game into a touch screen is just gorgeous! From someone with a tech background, I can tell y’all put a ton of work into this game. It will be perfect someday. Just beautiful!.Version: 1.0.2

Best NWN experience on iPadPort to iPad is much better than phone and actually better than original PC game IMHO. Drop in frame rate battling those pesky pixies but otherwise a near flawless port and the most natural gaming UI using touch OS..Version: 1.0.5

Superstar teamI have an ancient phone and the game updates moved on with iOS (which is obviously understandable), but I was bummed to not be able to play. After reporting the issue, they immediately went to work patching the game so that I could play. Just fantastic, you guys are amazing!.Version: 1.0.6

A good version of the classic on iOSI've played many versions of this game since the original game out in the 90's. It a classic and great to play on the iPad. One disappointment (along with other bioware games on iOS - would be great to have keyboard and mouse support - pretty please Devs. But thoroughly recommended..Version: 1.0.2

FinallyWow thank you.Version: 1.0.0

10 Star version of a classicThe mages at Beam dog/Overhaul have crafted a wonderous thing! This rework of the classic BioWare game is perfect. I have gladly picked up Planescape, BG 1&2, and Icewind Dale from the same creators, and they are fantastic. This EE is beyond even those reworks. The game play/ controls are easy & the graphics capture the feel of the original while polishing some of the rough edges that were there due to the limitations of early 2000s tech. The in app purchases are well worth the $, as they expand the game further and let the player enjoy other parts of Faerun. Now if Beamdog can get Wizards to let them convert classic D&D modules to expansion packs for NN:EE, then there will truly be magic left in the world..Version: 1.0.0

Good, But No ToolsetOK, actual review time. Lots of bugs. 1) The inventory radial menu icon does nothing. 2) Sometime highlights from one item appear when looking at another item from another chest. 3) There really needs to be some form of toolset implementation. 4) It still has an occasional memory leak, which was left over from. The PC/Mac game. Every once in a while, on a reload, everything drops to like 1 FPS or less. 5) The NPC AI needs to be improved a tad, your henchmen and familiars, etc. can box you into tight space and then not move. 6) You need to be able to tell familiars and animal companions to NOT attack chests. They will do it forever. 7) Marrok, the blacksmith guy, sometimes just wont make a recipe. The parts are there, he is there, but, nope– 8) The main character will often, all of a sudden, just stop doing anything when in the midst of a fight. Usually the PCs track new targets very well, but sometimes the main one just decides to stand there for a while, no condition or effect on them, and do nothing, even when gettin hit. I have tested this one a bunch. It mostly happens when a lot of action is going on. Please, make the toolset another app, and use Files to transfer new stuff to the game. It could not be that hard. The toolset is really what made this game special..Version: 1.0.1

Almost as good as pc versionThe recent update makes it five star👍fixed the camera angle. Like other reviewers have said, need to do something about the viewing angle, the pc version allows you to drop the angle down so you’re looking over your characters shoulder so you can see further ahead for ranged attacks, also it just makes the game more immersive, other than that a good port..Version: 1.0.4

You must gather your party before venturing forthI was excited to see this landing on the App Store. Looks and runs OK if still dated - but that’s to be expected from such an old game. Lots of content, a few bugs which will be squashed in future patches - game crashes when you learn spells from scrolls. Fun so far and great to add this to my Beamdog collection..Version: 1.0.0

Single player works, multi does notThe game seems like a pretty good port, and functions well on my iPad. However, when I tried to go into multiplayer. It just try’s to recover my cd key and will not allow me to play. I was hoping to be able to play with my wife while I’m away on business, but I cannot.i have attempted uninstalling and reinstalling several times but to no avail., So I did some more checking and I don’t appear to have any cd key in my app settings.Version: 1.0.1

So far so good !EDIT: Thank you development for your response! However, I don’t see how to move the menu bar to the side . I have tried dragging it, that doesn’t work. I can’t find anything in the game options. When I click to show chat, the menu bar just disappears . My biggest complaints so far is that I can’t have the chat bar and the quick menu bar open at the same time. By this, I mean the text info on hit rolls and damage, experience , etc must be closed to have the bar that includes the buttons for inventory, character , quick save, journal etc. This causes a lot of switching back and forth . If there is a way to do this that I’m unaware of or if it’s fixed I’ll change this to a 5 star rating ..Version: 1.0.1

AmazingBeamdog have done it again. So much nostalgia and fun. Great port. Keep up the good work..Version: 1.0.0

Problem with HotUThe original campaign worked fantastically. But towards the end of HotU, in the puzzler’s room (shortly after getting past the Mimic), the lightning blocking the doorway after doesn’t disappear when completing the puzzle (triggering all three floor levers on the islands, turning the gargoyles towards the door, and then pulling the last floor lever). So the game cannot be completed. I’ve played HotU three times and get stuck in the same spot every time. Developers, please fix that bug. I do enjoy the game but would really like to finish it..Version: 1.0.2

Awesome Game with great internet optionsIf you like the old school RPG games, this is for you. Been playing the internet games for months and never get tired of them..Version: 1.0.2

Soooo GOOD even with the bugsIt’s new and it’s bound to have issues. I hate that some people give low star ratings to newer games they’re scaring away prospective players and not giving enough credit to this masterpiece of a game. I’ve been dying waiting for another Baldur’s Gate-esk game to come out on iOS, and this does not disappoint! With hours of exploration and quests what more could you ask for? I’m not a “gamer” necessarily so I appreciate the adjustable difficulty settings. Are there bugs? Yes, like for example, an item that is needed to move forward in a quest is not in the chest or on the person that it’s supposed to be on. While I’m sure these issues will be fixed as the developers are made aware, at this point I don’t mind starting all over again with the hopes that the bug won’t happen in a new game. By far my favorite developer’s and game series!.Version: 1.0.2

New version won’t work on my iPadUpdate: The latest update fixed it. Quick response from the developer to correct it. Original review: I really enjoyed this app, but since the 1.0.5 update the other day it won’t work on my iPad anymore and it worked fine before. Now it crashes as soon as I try to open it. Running iOS 12.5.5 and I can’t update iOS any further. Please made version 1.0.4 available again..Version: 1.0.6

Very good for pc to IOS conversionThe PC version is still way better than the phone/tablet version, but it is very good for what it is. No ads and minimal in game purchases that mirror the PC version. Biggest draw back is that the character and screen view are way easier to control on PC and the larger screen on PC is much more fun. All that being said, the conversion to IOS from PC preserved and adapted most game functions in an understandable and intuitive way that makes picking up the game easy. One other draw back is that modules u purchased on PC seem to need to be bought again for IOS. Would be nice if those and your own custom modules just preloaded from steam onto IOS and characters too. While there seems to be a work around for tablet, there does not seem to be for iPhone. Still an awesome platform conversion!.Version: 1.0.4

Good, but a bit buggy with magic.Sorcerer has been crashing regularly when I try different things (tried to put a spell book in the wrong menu, trying to cast spells presumably wrong, the pattern being spells being moved or touched) melee seems fine so far..Version: 1.0.0

18 years on and it’s still got it.So many fond memories of this game, I wondered whether it was worth taking the risk and whether it would still have its appeal. Well I need not worry. I’m hoping the persistent servers come alive with new players on iOS..Version: 1.0.0

Knocked it out of the park !Video, controls are smoother than the PC version for me. One crash in quite a few hours of gaming. Overall - this is a A ++++ release. Nice work Beamdog !.Version: 1.0.0

Great workCan you add keybindings for the default action icon? Really happy to be able to play this game again, like the good old days. Being able to scroll through menus and inventories would be sweet too. Thanks.Version: 1.0.3

Love it!Just brought this game October 2020 and runs and looks amazing on this year’s iPad Air. Played on a pc back when I was a lad. I really enjoy the more simplistic approach to DND in this version. The ambient soundtrack in this game is the best! So much atmosphere! Well done beamdog!.Version: 1.0.1

YayFinaly it’s on ios.Version: 1.0.0

Great mobile port of a classicIt’s great to load up this classic RPG on the go during a long car trip or commute. Beamdog did a great job adapting the PC classic to iOS. The combat flows pretty smoothly for a touch interface. I love Neverwinter the most out of the classic PC D&D games because of the steady flow of action in relation to the plot. Was concerned about reading tiny text on my phone screen but it feels great on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Definitely will want a bigger screen or an iPad to play on though. Highly recommend this game! Thanks for the amazing port!!!.Version: 1.0.2

Amazing!Great enhanced controls! All the original extras plus more! Wow, I’ve been waiting for this for years! Thank you!.Version: 1.0.1

Great but DarkHow do I change the gamma. It is very difficult to play during the day even with the screen brighten to maximum..Version: 1.0.4

Great time filler in these stay at home days. This even runs old modules available on the net, probably not all of them but the 3 I have tried have worked fine..Version: 1.0.1

Omg omg omg omgOmg omg omg!!!! I love this game!!! I just had goosebumps, finally on my beloved iPad my all time favourite game..Version: 1.0.3

Great game!I love the campaign and the free dlc’s that are included, however, I can’t access multiplayer because the game says my cd key is missing. I’m not sure why this is, but I wish it would just allow me to play online . Overall, the game is super fun!.Version: 1.0.2

Well done and thank youGreat game solo and also multiplayer is fun..Version: 1.0.6

This could be a 5starSo the game is great! But it crashes from time to time and I’m playing on an iPad Pro so please fix this issue!.Version: 1.0.0

One of the Best old school RPG’s ever made!I have played Never Winter Nights going way back, owning the 2002 Big Box version of the game. Funny that back then, NWN really taxed my windows system with the breakthrough 3D graphics. Now we have this amazing game on mobile! Excellent port of Never Winter Nights to mobile devices. It plays just as the original PC version. A huge thank you to Beamdog/Overhaul games in bringing these Gems to new generations. Also, I was having some issues with running the game on an iPad mini2. All of a sudden; the game runs smooth with no crashes. This is Devs listening to the players. Optimization, tweaks have made this game open to older iOS apple products. So much appreciated, and thank you!.Version: 1.0.6

Even better with controller supportI love this game so much it would be even better if it had controller support like the switch version!.Version: 1.0.4

A Dungeons and Dragons Paradise!Cross-platform co-op play done properly! Huge open world campaigns with near infinite possibilities, choices, characters and customisations! If ever a game was made for lockdown... this is it! Lose yourself in an endless adventure with your friends on whatever tablet or computer you choose. My only pet peeve (as a player who weirdly likes to look at open skies and dungeon ceilings) is that the camera options don’t offer as much free vertical camera movement as I’d like... but it’s a small price to pay for a near perfect D&D RPG! So long as those servers stay smooth, this game offers an unparalleled game-playing experience 👍👍! And congratulations to the developers for a decent interface and overall adaptation - and soooooo much content! 😵!.Version: 1.0.0

Fantastic portBeamdog did a fantastic job porting this over. Any bugs have been squashed and it plays great on my 13 Max Pro - they also ensured we had file access so we could even install any mods we want that work for EE. Currently playing Swordflight, a purportedly difficult module, and I have no problems progressing on the smaller screen. You may need to pause more often compared to PC to avoid a misclick, and persistent worlds may be more difficult on account of being unable to pause, but for a game with NWN’s scope … it is terrific that I can play something like this on the go. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a solid game on the iPhone beyond puzzles and idle genres..Version: 1.0.3

Great game but...now fixedI love this game. Takes me back to my younger days but the traps aren’t showing anymore! After the last update the red highlighting the traps have fallen off the radar and it’s making game play frustrating! Please fix! Fixed so I’m changing my score to one of the best RPG ever made!.Version: 1.0.4

Great port...get updated like PC?Really enjoying title on ipad, but feel jealous that PC version seems to be getting all the love. Hopefully, enhanced graphics, UI improvements, etc. are forthcoming on iOS version as well..Version: 1.0.1

They murdered my horses!Great game, and the controls are almost as fluid as the pc version. However, I encountered an unusual bug after I returned to thunderstone from the Fort after clearing it. The town guards attacked and killed my horses and companions, but left me untouched. Fix this please. It also does not recognize certain names or titles in the game and lists them as <UNREGISTERED TOKEN>.Version: 1.0.1

Bug of learning new spellImpossible learn a new spell from scroll, or app will freeze and restart..Version: 1.0.0

Almost PerfectThis is a fantastic port, and the ability to edit the game directly through Files is a big help; I only wish it was more compatible with more of the PRC content and class/prestige classes packs..Version: 1.0.3

AmazingThis is an amazing port of an iconic and massive RPG. Piece of advice for players - you can turn off the text bubbles above npcs in the options. They take up a ton of space and make it hard to target at times if left on..Version: 1.0.1

Awesome game! Spell issue has been fixedThe game freezes whenever you try to learn a new spell. I will change to 5 stars if this is fixed. Edit:The bug has been fixed. The rating has been changed to 5 stars..Version: 1.0.1

Bugs!!!Can’t load to another map after I open doors. :(.Version: 1.0.3

Takes some getting used to.I spent half a decade on a persistent world, back in the day. Discovering that I could return to the worlds of NWN either in single-player mods, or online persistent worlds again was a thrill. There’s a bit of a learning curve though, especially on the small screen of my iPhone SE, where it can be hard to select a small item or icon. Having since discovered that I can install it on my laptop from Steam, though, and still access my server from my phone at work, I now want to know how to log in as a DM, from my phone, or install user-generated hakpaks to my phone..Version: 1.0.3

Tears of happinessWell, I remember the day I met one little kobold... his name was Deekin. He so easily became my best friend in hard times of my life he was able to make my laugh. It was long time ago. My mom still reminds me how she found me crying in my room and when she asked me what happen i said I had to say goodbye to Deekin. I became older and from outsider I became a very popular girl in high school. Still lonely tho. In NWN 2 I met him again and he became successful as he dreamed. tears again and my loling mom hugging me. Now I’m 32... I will meet Deekin again... I will be happy. I’m so lonely my old friend I’m so broken and I so missed you. I’m ready for our very last adventure..Version: 1.0.2

Amazing!I’ve been eagerly awaiting this ever since I found that the Baldur’s Gate series was available on iOS. So glad this classic is now available as well! The port was amazingly well done! So many hours of fun!.Version: 1.0.0

The good old daysI picked this up when I had to wait an entire day for new windows at my house. It is a great adaptation of the original. I plan to keep playing long after the one-day I initially expected to be entertained for..Version: 1.0.4

True to the OriginalI played this some on PC back when I was young and first getting into D&D, love this mobile version. The only thing I could suggest for the touch screen port is a setting that pauses/unpauses per round or a bigger pause button..Version: 1.0.4

Amazing port.I’m having a blast with this classic game on the iPad. So much content and depth it’s definitely worth the cost. I must admit I forgot how bad the portrait art and 3D models were back in the day. Still, if you can get past your toon looking like a Robo-Cop melted Pink-Popeye Gorilla Trog then this game is an amazing dnd RPG..Version: 1.0.6

Excellent Classic, Decent PortNeverwinter Nights is an amazing rpg, and the expansion packs add a ton of value to this for an already low price. My only compliant is the lack extensive control options. Obviously this game won’t work with a controller, it was never made for that! However I’d love a virtual joystick on screen to directly control the character instead of tap tap tap. It runs perfect on my iPad Pro..Version: 1.0.0

Just like I rememberI remember getting this game when it first came out, it actually feel smoother than I remember (but might have been my pc back then) there ARE some bugs though, the major one for me is the fact you cannot install the infinite Dungeons premium module, frustrating as I have purchased it and cannot use - I bought and no matter how many times I click on install it does not (I can install the other modules which I also bought and uninstall and redownload no issue) I’ve removed the App from the IPad and reinstalled and also no joy. In conclusion, a very good port, but don’t buy if you are only interested in the infinite dungeon and absolutely do not purchase the Infinite Dungeon premium module until they fix this bug. Once they fix this bug and the other more minor ones this would be a 5 star. Update: Solution, after uninstalling app, restart IPad and this seems to have fixed the issue. I was also able to experiment and with ITunes and a bit of playing about I managed to load CEP and other Mods into it - simply copy the folders to your PC so you have a baseline, then copy the folders elsewhere and then add the Mods you want in and then add them back in ITunes by drag and dropping and overwriting. I’m going to see if PRC will work tomorrow. I’m hoping this ability to Mod will be implemented for the Infinity Engine games at some point..Version: 1.0.0

An amazing blast from the pastI have put many hours into this game on the PC many years ago and when i saw it was now on IOS I was so excited and I haven’t been let down! The game runs very smoothly, the controls are easy to master and it’s great to see an awesome game like this on a mobile platform. Hats off to the development team for bringing this here and thank you for making lockdown a lot more enjoyable.Version: 1.0.0

Very good but missing DLCs ??Nice to play this on iOS, a classic and personal favourite title. But I only have SoU and HotU DLC and cannot find a way to open other DLC content. Please help!!.Version: 1.0.1
