✓ HmmmGreat game great controls . But the best cars are like 150 000 dollars And you get like 1500 dollars each race so you need to play a race like 50 times or 80? ✓ Good alternative to asphalt 8, but with a few problemsThis game makes it so much better to grind and have cars for free at certain stars, and with higher end cars being less than a million, i will say that I am rather happy with that price. However, a few problems arisen when I was grinding: 1. Pro-ing it seems to take much too long 2. It needs optimization to use less performance since my battery will go from 100% to nearly 50 - 60% in an hour, and obviously the battery drainage depends on device, usage, and life of battery. 3. It gets repetitive, along with its events Overall a good game worth for 5$ a month, but needs optimization and some updating. Edit: they released an update that stops the game from crashing and fixed some missions that were impossible..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Bunch of nonsense, but still somewhat funThe classifications make no sense. Why make it super easy to unlock the Mazda Furai, which absolutely destroys everything else in D class (and half of C for that matter), and then make all the other cars you can unlock for the next good long while just seem pointless in comparison. Driving in a tunnel is impossible. It’s just a sad display of the bad game physics (one that will mercilessly and infuriatingly crash you into a wall every single time). World Series matchmaking is a joke. Putting 1200 ranked cars up against 1800+ ranked cars is just stupid, pointless, silly, maddening. Yeah of course a Koenigsegg Jesko is going to do the same lap in a third of the time of my Acura NSX. Why put me up against one every single time? Speaking of vehicle ranking, it makes no sense. As do the stats. Cars do not always perform how their specs indicate. And those specs don’t seem to have a consistent effect on the ranking. And yet I keep playing this stupid game. ✓ Needs more loveUpdate: Months later, everything is even worse. I managed to get Jesko, but who cares? They added new cars that are totally unobtainable. The number of licenses you can collect is nowhere near the numbers needed for the new cars. What’s the point? Also, I have completed Mastery for each car I started. The cars give you 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 50 licenses. How is that possible? I currently have 3299 licenses. Math is hard, I know. Again, there’s no way to contact anyone. Even the link on App store leads nowhere. Original review: The concept is good, and not having annoying ads is awesome. However: (1) the Racer Path is not updating; I keep finishing in the top-10 in the Gauntlet, and my counter never updates. That’s just one example of how messed up it is. (2) You added Jesko; it costs 5000 of the new currency, you can get about 30 coins per day, and within a week cheaters already had it. How are they not being immediately banned? (3) Your servers need upgrading. There’s too much lag and it causes me to crash, or I suddenly find myself in the last place. It’s so hard finding enough opponents for the World Series, which makes this issue even worse. (4) There’s no way to contact customer support from the game. Fix these and you’ll have a 5-star game. And, finally, please stop adding new currencies!.Version: 1.6.0
✓ Fun but a few problems…The steering randomly has a mind of its own and often when starting a race or unpausing mid race the car will just veer of to the left. Also, watch out if you play this on multiple devices, on 2 occasions I have spent hours on the game and completed about 100 races but if I go to play on a different device it will ask me if I want to use the cloud saved game and not the local one, if I do this it will completely reset the game and I lose everything!.Version: 1.2.0

✓ Multi player modes are uselessIt’s an ok game, I play it on my Apple TV with a remote and it passes the time but the multi player modes are pointless. The World Series is badly designed. You only play people within your level, and when you get a few stages up there’s very few of them so it can be ages if ever to play a game. There has to be at least 4 to start. Also not every time but enough to be annoying there’s a lag before my car will do anything so people behind me on nitro bash into me, knock me down and I start a few seconds back before it’s even begun. If you’re happy playing against the computer it’s pretty good. If you want to play another human don’t bother..Version: 1.6.0
✓ NOPE.I had company over, and we all wanted to play a racing game. After downloading this game on my tv and getting through the tutorial, nothing but problems arose. The game CONSTANTLY crashes. As soon as a race begins, there’s a crackling sound, then… CRASH. I tried off-loading/re-loading the game. Nope. I re-started my Wi-Fi network. Nothing. Un-installed/re-installed the game. No hope. I read some of the reviews and noticed others were having issues with this game, also. On top of that, we realized this is one of those crappy “grinder” games (on a premium game service), which we refuse play. And, I should’ve realized that since this is the path that Gameloft has been going down for a while. I really hate that Apple is even allowing these kind of games on Apple Arcade; it really tarnishes the reason people were excited for Apple Arcade in the first place: no ads, no data collection, no “in-app purchases“ (which is what this game is mimicking), and the ability to play across all of your Apple devices. ✓ Fun gameplay but it’s a grindGreat graphics and fun, arcade gameplay, but progression is such a grind, mainly because the amount of coins you receive is so small compared to how much everything costs. The mastery races are a bit of a joke too. You have to pay to upgrade your car’s stats to stay competitive, and then you get rewarded with mastery points to make the same upgrades you’ve just paid coins for. Plus, there’s no chance of maxing out your car’s stats early on, as to do so you have to compete in races in which only the best classes of cars compete. It’s easy to tell that this was a game made for microtransactions but with the microtransactions removed..Version: 1.1.2
✓ Good games, issues sprinkled inThis game was the first one I downloaded while playing on Apple Arcade. This is what I expect out of a racing game. It’s great. However, after playing it for a few weeks and exploring all aspects of the game, there are some issues that affect the player. If I win first place in a multiplayer competition, it will not synchronize with the other players/leaderboard. After a few retries, the only way to proceed is to acknowledge you will not be credited with the win. It’s rather frustrating. I also do not like the World Series aspect of the game. There just aren’t enough players to make a game of 12 (?!), after a few attempts to play it, I have only ever seen one other user in the room. Sure, I can pass on trying to play this mini competition, however, this seems to limit your progress as you’re unable to obtain the currency you receive from playing ONLY this competition. Again, the game is great. It is fun, intuitive, and beautifully designed, but these issues lead to a frustrating experience..Version: 1.4.0

✓ Fun all-round but impossible to finishI love this game and disagree with some of the negative comments re handling of the cars etc. So why not 5 stars? It’s impossible to finish and progress beyond a certain stage. The World Series is all well and good but as with anything like that, you’re competing with people who have all the bonuses of doing it for a while, and can spec up their cars accordingly. So it’s initially impossible to compete. Also, the career section is impossible to finish without doing well in the World Series, which means you find that from a point, you really can’t progress once you’ve exhausted all opportunity in the career section and can’t upgrade your cars to max. Also, you can’t sell any cars to make your life easier. I mean, really - how much tome does your average person or child have to repeat the same losses over and over until they can progress to a good enough situation to finish this game? ✓ Not Enough Money In GameWith the new update they took away the ability to make money in quick races. Now I don’t think there’s enough money to buy all the cars. (And much harder even if possible to upgrade the cars you do buy.) It’s not like this is even a free vs pay limitation, as we all pay a tiny bit for arcade and with this game there’s no way to pay more. It’s a nice game, but even before it was a slow and boring process of grinding through countless quick races to buy and upgrade the cars you need to advance through the career tree. ✓ Great fun gameThe graphics are great and the cars are very realistic looking. The only things that I do not like is that all of the jumps are unrealistic and would snap a real car in half, Also I was dissaponted to see that they did not have the Pontiac GTO or any dirtbikes. ✓ Good game but has some issuesIt’s basically the same game as it used to be but everything is free and doesn’t cost money. It has issues though. It is impossible to get one of the stars on a gate drift race in season 3 but because you need other players for that star it’s impossible. Another gate drift race in season 4, the first one actually crashes the game on my phone and my Mac. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I think you can duplicate save data to another Apple account by simply playing on one account and switching to other and use local save data because at least on Apple TV, it saves all local save data for all profiles In the same location.Version: 1.0.2

✓ Gameloft removes freedomWith the recent launch of the World Series online racing mode, Gameloft has added another currency type to the game. Now purchasing parts for pro upgrades requires you to spend countless hours playing this horrible mode to earn this new purple currency. The World Series may appeal to some, but I don’t find it enjoyable at all. The matchup system is terrible. It takes forever to get into a race and then when i do, I’m so severely outmatched it’s like someone trying to compete at Daytona with a Prius. Gauntlet. Horrible. I have to defend on tracks I’ve never even seen in career mode. And the only way to earn the red currency is to play gauntlet. Gameloft, stop trying to force people to play certain modes by offering different currencies. 1 currency for all modes please. There’s no pay to win because it’s Apple Arcade, which is awesome, yet you’ve built the pay to win model by using different currency types. A play should be able to play career, mastery and quick races and not feel shortchanged. Prior to the launch of World Series and these changes, I would have given 5 stars..Version: 1.1.0
✓ Something VERY bad occurred. Gameloft, you need to do something.So. As usual with my phone, it was not logging in with the Game Center when I opened Asphalt 8+ due to my connection. Typically I have to close and reopen the app a couple times for it to work. But this time, it wasn’t logging in. So I restarted my phone and it still wasn’t logging in! Afterwards, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and since I had saved my data to the cloud, everything was all recovered. Or was it? Then I discovered my Lamborghini Centenario was gone. It was back in the shop for 552,000 credits as it had always been. This is a big issue Gameloft, and you need to do something about it. I was halfway upgrading it to pro, which took long enough. AND GUESS WHAT ELSE? I had 770 starts before this update, but now I barely have 300, and all those cars I had unlocked with stars are GONE. Do something, please. ✓ Apple Arcade MinusAll the other Apple Arcade games that have multiplayer are fun “out of the box” but this game requires weeks of grinding to get a multiplayer car that can compete. Sure, one can play in World Series early but only if you enjoy getting smashed and losing. I’m not whining because I can’t compete (check the leaderboards) I’m just sad because there are no new players coming in because the remnants of the old model are scaring away new players and limiting this game. This is the reason that hardly anyone plays in multiplayer. There are just a few dozen people really trying in multiplayer. That’s pathetic, Apple. This setup is bad for veterans because there are not enough players to reliably get a match. And it is bad for new players who enter multiplayer with a horrible experience that probably leads them to give up and delete this game. Setup a World Series for 1200 and below and give new players a place to play! And ads in a subscription game is a cheap, cheap move. Get rid of them! The original A8 was pay to play or grind away. ✓ Rough edges spoil an otherwise great gameThis game doesn’t work properly with the multi-account feature of the Apple TV. It’s possible for one players progress to replace another players, which essentially renders the game unplayable in a multiplayer household. There are also frustrating problems with the controls in the game UI which lead to unwanted purchases of vehicles and boosters. I have really enjoyed playing this game, but my progress has been destroyed twice now, so I won’t be playing it any more..Version: 1.1.2

✓ Terrible controlsI play this game on an Xbox controller and the game thinks its a good idea to let the brake button be the same as the drift. Give the brake mechanism its own button for crying out loud! Whenever I’m about to make a tight turn I want to break not drift, always crash really bad because of it. I slightly press the brake button and the car suddenly goes into drift mode causing me to crash. Overall it just creates a problem where 70% of the race is just me crashing on the sides because the game cant tell the difference between braking and drifting. ✓ Shooting yourself in the foot here AppleWhen you see the dip in numbers, from people who downloaded the app and used it, the removed it…it’s because you have made it to difficult to get credits. I know the marketing strategy is to keep people coming back for more, so you can hang on to monthly subscribers, but if people are dumping the app because they can no longer progress..it is counterproductive. Making people have to do a quick race 20, 30 and 40 times, to make enough credits to purchase a low level vehicle, does not help keep people interested. We become frustrated and drop the app. A simple fix would be to add either Double Credits, like the other original Asphalt games, or at the very least, increase the Quick Race reward to 10,000 credits, from 5,000…for completing 2 full laps. ✓ Avoid the new update like the plagueNope. After may happy hours of campaign play using the previous version, Gameloft decided to take away the ability to earn credits through quick races with precision driving and collecting power-ups, forcing you play campaign mode as the only source of credits. This greatly slows down your rate of earning (5x slower) since replaying a campaign race you've already beaten earns far fewer credits than racing the same track in quick race mode. Translation: they've took away the best way to earn funds to buy cars, encouraging impatient players to resort to in app purchases. Guess they weren't making enough from Apple Arcade subscriptions. The problem is that, certain races require buying specific cars, and if you spent all your credits on upgrades (which are practically mandatory), the result is a game that is "pay to win" by design and Apple should hardline forbid that practice under the Apple Arcade program. I can see my enjoyment of this game coming to an eventual end, due to this change. I regret updating my copy of the game..Version: 1.1.0
✓ Built to take your moneyIt is a fun game, but the game cheats to force players to spend money. For example in Mastery races the other cars get rated much higher that you when it comes to collecting licenses. It is only possible to win some of the races if you spend money. In my book that is cheating. Also there are many races where cars that are rated way lower than your’s will accelerate faster and have faster top speeds, again in my book this is cheating. I don’t mind paying for a good game, but I do not like being cheated out of my money. I suggest you play but do not pay for anything. Greed is not pretty..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Bugs, Impossibilities, and Dumb LimitationsUpdate On Mac: Events sometimes produce no reward whatsoever, even though all races were won, as if their database just dropped everything in a table. One must start the game, close the game, and then start the game again to claim the rewards, if they are even available after you earn them. MotoBlitz continues to be impossible to complete because Season 4.3, Rio Sprint 4, is a race that includes an AI-piloted bike that is impossible to control in any way whatsoever, leading to an animation of a bike crashing infinitely. Tech support continues to actively thwart any attempt to report issues by insisting that have videos of problems that were already very well described. If starting a race after a wreck, the vehicle starts in reverse. Mastery Rewards are not redeemable beyond Mazzanti Evantra Kit #7 because they are not seen to be claimed; thus, they are not clickable. This problem was fixed in the latest release. Overall: One must wait at least 12-16 hours to upgrade parts after only a smidgen were upgraded. There are many other mandatory and artificial wait times for no purpose whatsoever. They cannot even progam their own website for communications. Their support forms return "Could not submit the form. Please try again later." I could be cynical and guess that they do not want any feedback, like a modern & conceited developer. But there need be no guess: they do not even provide telephone numbers or regular E-mail addresses. Be warned: this game is an exercise in patience for the dumbbells who make it..Version: 1.4.0

It’s still very clearly a pay to win game, but you can’t buy credits and you earn $$$ too slowly to do more than creep through the progress. ✓ Good, but could be betterThis game is a huge improvement for new players of Asphalt 8, where there is no token system or insane price tags. It faintly reminds me of the long gone days of paid Asphalt games. However it has flaws. There isn’t much of a point to play after you finish campaign. The only options are really basic time trial “online” events and car mastery which is a long boring grind. Unlocking the Ferrari F8, the latest new car, would take over 20 hours (!) in car mastery grind. Make it more interesting, at least! Also, why the ads in a paid mobile game?? It feels cheap. So does racing against the same grid of cars every time. And the car classes don’t make sense. Why is a Corvette in a higher class than a Ferrari 599XX or a McLaren P1? Please, you have such a good start here, just fix and update a few things. Edit: I’ve been playing a little longer and realized that the huge car roster is pretty much useless. After you beat the game you are forced into the fastest S tier vehicles if you want to be competitive. I get the devs don’t care about this game but random car cups would be fun (ex. ✓ Hey GL….THE BUTTONS DONT WORKThe touch screen buttons do not work well in this game. You can be pressing the manual acceleration and all of a sudden you will start slowing down. Why? Because the hit box for the button is only THE SIZE OF THE BUTTON. And they are small. Even the BRAKES button doesn’t work that well in auto acceleration mode. The nitro button doesn’t work very well. You can be fishing for those buttons and press 5 times before getting it. I’m actually really good at Asphalt 9, I always get top 10% in the events, and a bunch of other mobile racing games, and for somthing that’s been around for this long, with such a HIGH BUDGET…. ✓ Fun game, but runs poorlySo for context, I have an M1 Macbook Air, so I don't see how performance can be the issue. Here's the problem, it feels as though the game runs at like 25fps half of the time, and in general, the whole experience is the opposite of smooth. I know that it's not an issue with thermal throtteling because the temp of my CPU rarely goes above 40 Celsius when playing this game. This really needs to be addressed....Version: 1.0.5
✓ Great racer, but impossible to get 5 stars on a raceLove the game so far. However I stumbled on something that really annoys me. I see some other reviewer reported the problem too. Season 3 - Azure Coast Reverse - Gate Drift That particular race, in order to get the fifth star the game is asking the player to do takedowns. However this is a gate drift race. Which means there are no opponents in the race to be able to do any takedowns. Making this fifth star impossible to achieve. Please check that all 5 stars are possible to achieve across all races please. It really makes it seem that the 4th and 5th star challenges were generated a little bit randomly. That impossible star confirms what I initially thought as there were other races before This issue where I thought these extra star challenges were kinda awkward and not well thought out. I guess this stems from the IAP days of this game where they artificially and cheaply increased play time to milk the game as much as possible. That being said there is a fun racing game at its core.Version: 1.0.2
