✓ Good game not p2w (new update is strictly money grab)Wanted to update as the new update shifted this game heavily into pay to win… 1. Took away 2nd builder without pass purchase 2. Increased money cost on all upgrades to the point I can’t update a building except maybe once every 2 weeks with completely upgraded mines to my level. 3. New leveling system is strictly about money unless they increase gateway respawn 4. Haven’t updated any grinding features just money grabs 5. After being in top 50 this game has no purpose as I don’t intend to spend thousands of dollars for gold and purple chests. 6. No end game 7. Goodbye top troops! This game is good. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to be good but some luck won’t hurt! What I would like to see is a little more balance in the amounts of the stuff you get… maybe have it built into a descaling % instead of getting the same 750 for a group of 3 at level 1 vs 40. Some of the rebalance that happened in a recent update as well will benefit new player more than existing but was still needed. ✓ Feels poorly balanced after updateOne of the most regular ways to advance is getting chests from arena battles, but after the update nearly every player the arena offers me has 2x my power rating or more, I get 0 chests from it nearly every day which makes advancing a slog. It feels especially bad after playing for months only to get hard reset and then offered 5k gems as a “sorry” for it when I spent more gems than that before the reset, never mind the time and effort spent, It’s not a generous consolation..Version: 0.5.1

✓ Deleted this game after this update.I’ll try making this short and sweet. So I used to play this game, made it up to the sixth spot in the Arena so I had spent time playing the game and enjoyed it. I’ve noticed the past few monthly updates the game gets the developers turn into Mona-Lisa from Parks & Rec with their hand out yelling, “MONEY PWEEEZZZZ!!” These past few updates they have sort of taken stuff away from the game but put it behind the usual having to spend real money (just going to give the example of the second builder that we USED to always have in the game till you took it away from us and put it in the monthly KINGDOM PASS). In my opinion it’s not really fun anymore, kinda bored with the getting stuff taken away each update just for it to be behind a (hey give us money) thing. ✓ Pay to win with horrible customer supportNot only did they update the game without notice this update wiped everything including any area you paid for any gems your purchased and all the troops you had leveled. Don’t play this game if you consider spending money as they won’t protect your purchases and will not respond or follow through on their customer support. ✓ Stuck in tutorialCant get past the first fight in tutorial because I didn’t level my troops and I can’t go back because game forces you to continue and you can’t choose other options. Forced forward tutorials without full access to game mechanics is a waste of time. The defeat screen can’t be closed because devs cant test a game and realize they have bugs in a tutorial. It rail roads you into fighting it before I had a strong enough army or at least before I could merge all my troops and get them into a viable formation. ✓ Be careful how much time you invest in this gameThis game is very fun to play and you can see yourself sinking a lot of time into it. Twice already since it’s been developed they have forced players to completely start over. We were paid 5000 gems for the inconvenience. I was ranked eighth in the game at one point and time that I invested in the game was worth way more than 5000 gems. ✓ Developer ruined the gameBefore the update, you could progress along and be challenged enough to play a bit each day. Then spend a few bucks to thank the developer and their hard work. Now, they took half our stuff and made it so slow to gain resources, you literally have to spend 2-3 days just logging in to click and get a few meager coins. Don’t bother trying to win in the arena. You can lose to someone 1/4 as strong. This is purely a cash grab now with horrid game play. UPDATE: Developer did it again. Stole all our progress and money. Thankfully I don’t spend money anymore. Don’t waste your money. Maybe play for fun. There is no rhyme or reason. I lose to people with 100k less power. I lost to someone with 1/4 my power. ✓ NEW UPDATE IS HORRIBLEI DONT RECOMMEND (coming from someone whos played this game for a year straight). After this new update I never played it again. I tried but it’s just so bad and confusing if u played before. I know this happened awhile but I had to say something because it’s just so bad. ✓ Great Game so far, just have a little problemBeen playing the game for about 5 days now. 2 days in I decided to reset using the in-game reset option so I could spend my gems better. Now on my new game I’ve reached the magical islands and are about 5 area sets in. I clicked on a big iron chest and accidentally started a battle. When I was done with the battle my game would now not let me auto-reorganize troops, instead saying “wait for previous thing to finish” or something. Now when I try to get back in the game it pauses on “logging in…” and completely freezes on “game managers…” at first I thought that it just sucked that I’d have to restart but now even if I delete and re-download the game this doesn’t solve the problem. ✓ Glitches and errors from the beginning!The game has had issues since the very first battle. It would not let me merge troops which ment I could not clear the very first stage. I have not unlocked any features so there was literally nothing I can do. Solution just to try to play, I paid for the .99 cent troop chest, success! I was able to clear the first stage. Now it wants me to merge 3 archers.. I don’t have 3 to merge and the arrow takes you off map where you cannot go (I took screenshots of all the issues).. soo once again the game is unplayable. I don’t care if they don’t refund the dollar, I do care they fix these issues and respond to my emails. I have not seen many reviews with this just other complaints about updates so I hope this is a rare one off glitch and others can enjoy the game. ✓ Potential is thereIt just feels empty. Purchases are skewed and don’t tell you how much you’re actually buying. I had 1.3k ( doesn’t show full value ) gems. Needed 1350 for a purchase. Bought an unknown pack for a dollar or two that was actually worth 60 as I found out. But for some reason still couldn’t afford the 1350 purchase?? I’m no mathematician…. But there’s some shady works in there PvP is broken and pointless. You’ll always have opponents twice as strong as you at some point. They’re not actually players. I even at one point had a list of “players” that all had the exact same unit list, and of course they were all double my strength so couldn’t do PvP again today. Now have a stack of 45 arena tickets I can’t use because this has gone on for two weeks, seemingly since a. Update according to my clan. Weekend event is a money grab. Elemental weakness is dumb considering there’s only ever like one viable option for a particular element in each unit tier. Nobody is gonna bring a grey tier unit to a murderous poison tower that is one shotting your advantage element purples anyway. Just a stupid feature that either needs more units introduced, or just get rid of it. They focus on releasing more yellow tier units so the whales will spend money on getting them instead of improving the general gameplay for everybody else by adding some more purple and green tiers making any strategy mid game viable. ✓ Too many glitchesOnce you progress to higher level area 11/12 there is nothing gained from it. Those areas have nothing within each area clearing. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or just how it is. I emailed Devs about it and nothing was addressed. So it just takes the fun out of trying to progress through the game. There are is also a special area that has numerous high chest but when you click to unlock the area you get “purchase failed” which I also addressed but nothing done about it. However, I went to play it today and all of my progress had been deleted due to an update, with only a 5,000 gem compensation, which is practically nothing! Took all original army I already built and made me start over, which really upset me since I had already spent a bit to build my army. Plus there was no compensation for my loss. Since I’ve rebuilt my squad but the strength increases from island to island is ridiculous. Definitely pushing the pay wall. You can play for free, but you better be patient. ✓ Disappointing direction this once fun game is heading! 👎🏼I’m writing this review to express my absolute disappointment in where this once great game is heading with each new update. Here are just a few issues I’ve noted that are effecting the enjoyment in playing this game: - Increase in cost to upgrade all buildings. Ruined the training camp by increasing training time & cost. - Squad Coins Mine decreased production rate by 50% & storage capacity (Eg. lvl 14 Squad Mine production rate decreased from 4600 per hour to 2300 per hour) - Gold mine decreased production rate & storage capacity similar as above text for Squad Coins Mine. - The shops Mystery draw has an extremely annoying and long animation every time you draw a chest. PLEASE CHANGE THIS UNNECESSARY ANIMATION BACK. - “RNG” drop rate of Epic & Legendary chests in Shop’s Mystery draw is has been changed. I have not received ANY Epic, Legendary or even Gold chest drops in over 100 draws. PLEASE CHANGE THIS back to pre 0.9.1 or 0.9.2. There is no more satisfaction in drawing chests. - Squad Coins rewards from Adventures drastically reduced (Eg. Dark Lvl 12-10 used to provide 8000+ squad coins. Now Lava Lvl 12-10 only provide just over 5000+) - Every update my user name gets changed back to the generic “Mergeland###” name with generic pfp. - Every update I get demoted back down to wood league so I have to start climbing the ladder from the beginning (applies to update 0.10.0 & 0.10.1. Extremely frustrating. - Sound effect toggle doesn’t turn off the sound Kingdom Pass & Star Kingdom Pass is a horrible feature and a rip-off. - Stop putting features behind a subscription paywall. - Broken Ascension Hall System with the new update Removed 2nd Builders Workshop and put it behind a “Kingdom Pass” paywall (in 0.9.2) - No clarity in version history update notes. Please be transparent and note all of the Hidden changes that are made with each update. - I’ve had no problems making in-app purchases in the past but with every update that occurs, it makes it clearer that this is just becoming another money drain game which makes me play “Top Troops!” less and that’s truly disappointing. ✓ Don’t waste your timeI have only been playing for a month, so not much time has been wasted by me however, an update was put out today that was mandatory, upon updating and logging back in I am met with a message stating that the developers are very sorry but the entire game had to be reset. So all the troops I have gathered and merged all the achievements all the gems and all of the pvp battles I had won were gone. I was understandably upset, and came to the App Store to review, to find that this has happened multiple times before. Who is to say that it won’t happen again. Player beware. ✓ Latest patch: The good, the bad, and the uglyGood: Much easier to ascend squads. Bad: Patch notes state rule changes to battle but we get no details. Considering it’s the focus of the game some transparency would be nice. Devs don’t utilize their own website or the in game mail system to communicate rule changes. Players are left to just figure it out. Ugly: Patch removes 2x battle speed option with no mention. Devs show a lack of respect for people’s time by nonchalantly removing a quality of life feature like this. If you are going to double the time spent in a battle some effort should be spent on the generic environments. Want to wage war in the arena? No sand or spectators here, empty grass field. Battling on a volcano peak? Grass field. Fighting your way through the “Endless Cave”, well bring your picnic basket and have a sit on the lovely grass field. All in all, an addictive casual game. You’ll now progress your army over less time but spend more time watching battles. Opinion: Devs should bring back speed control in battle with a 0.5x / 1x / 2x toggle and add the ability to zoom in battle so you can actually see what is happening (usually battles look like a pile of units, health bars, and effects until majority of units are dead). It would be nice to be able to instant replay battles. The placement of a single unit can make or break the battle so being able to review the outcome in greater detail would help make this game feel a little more strategic and less random chance. Other quality of life features such as the ability to create and save at least a limited number of battle formations would be nice..Version: 0.11.0

✓ Great Game, 1 IssueI really enjoy this game, but one issue that I have with it is that it’s can be difficult to get the resource units that you need to level up characters and there is no way to buy them- either with in game currency or otherwise. Animal hides, in particular, are very rare to get despite them being labeled as common units. Meanwhile, I have an almost infinite supply of other types of units. Game developers should look at either having a building in the game that creates resources or adjusting the distribution of units as prizes so that units labeled as common are actually common in the game..Version: 0.4.1

✓ Waste of time (now)On a recent change, devs tied gold to everything. The only way to get gold is waiting 24 hours. A few Pennie’s is available from fighting but it would take about 100 days in real life with battles just to get enough to upgrade a building 1 time. So forced to wait 24 hours. Battles: The only control you have over battles is troop placement at beginning, that’s it. Just watching battle. Rest of the game just involves merging stuff on a single map. Even though this game was severely limit on what you could do, it used to be just get on and play a bit and log off. Now it’s gold management and limited merging. I changed the rating from 5 stars down to 2 stars Oh and rewards from hard mode are way less than the rewards from normal mode when looking at respective difficulties. ✓ Used to be good before updateSo i’ve been playing this game since November of last year, Im top 60 in the arena rankings and I really enjoyed the gameplay, merge aspect and adventure battles but since this new auto sort update, it’s 10 times harder to progress and level up your troops in the library due to it being so much harder to get troop coins. Before the update, you were able to fill your coin storage fully or halfway for a reasonable amount of gems but now it’s near impossible because its like 40,000 gems which is crazy! And doing the adventure battles doesn’t even help, they give you little to no coins so progress takes even longer. Auto sort was an okay update i guess, i would have preferred auto merge. I also like the new dark mode but i can barely progress because it takes forever to level up my troops. I also feel that auto win shouldn’t have tickets, if you cleared that level, you should be able to auto win that level however many times you want with the energy you have, it’s so stupid. This game had so much potential and was so fun before this new auto sort update. I really hope the dev’s make some changes soon because the game has become so much worse, i feel like it’s turning away new players too because they can barely progress..Version: 0.3.3
✓ Most disorganized developers I have EVER seen!Been playing for over a year. In that time they have changed the stats on your character and the enemies at least six or seven times. Before the last update my primary team was over 800k in power. Now it is just over 400k. When trying to beat the level in the adventure area that I have been beating for over four months, now I get defeated. Even though I was beating it 4 months ago with about 40% less power than I had before the update. They can’t seem to settle on the stats for this game. It is an absolute catastrophe. I would love the game if they could get that figured out. But it has went up and down so many times that I am sick of dealing with it. I am deleting the app after this review. If it is the same person in charge of this the whole time, they definitely need to be fired. If it is multiple people then they need to find someone who is capable of figuring this out. ✓ Terrible customer Service and SupportHad to give it one star since zero is not available. I have been playing for over a year now and was a top player in the arena and had many units leveled extremely high. In the time I have been playing I suffered through multiple updates where they removed some existing progress, ie. buildings etc. it was annoying but manageable. However in the most recent update that all changed, they completely deleted all game progress even purchased unlocked land and reset everyone to zero. Seems fair right? Logging countless hours on a game and spending actual money on gems and unlocks and you are rewarded with a weak apology and 10K coins. By the way that 10k in coins was given to every player no matter the value of their account. I reached out to their support team and this is was their response Hello, Sorry for the inconveniences. We have gifted you a GREAT DEAL of gems as an apology. We really appreciate the time you spend in the game, and we are working actively to make it better every day! Thanks for your support. They offered no response on my follow up question either. ✓ Great but needs more playmodesI have been playing close to a year. It’s been good so far, I even endured that update that wiped out all of our progress a few months ago, no biggie. I like the chambers and island modes, they’re fun and allow us to get some nice goodies. Still, it’s getting a bit old. Stuff like clan battles, challenges, events with bigger prizes, new units, seasonal events/prizes etc. would keep it fresh. Daily tasks are the same, completely mechanical and I can do them while I’m still asleep in the mornings. It poses no challenge whatsoever and it’s become stale. Anyway, I’ll keep playing but maybe not for long if it continues to be the same thing over and over like that Groundhog Day movie..Version: 0.8.3

I had 4 gold storages and a bunch of gold and the update took away two storages and left the gold i cant get enough xp to lvl up my town hall the town hall lvl up are stretch really far apart and I barely get xp for anything i do now I can’t finish my daily quests anymore because of how much gold i have and i have nothing to spend it on. They definitely need to add more buildings or items to spend the gold on so people like me can spend gold and still complete daily and normal quests.Version: 0.4.1
✓ Last Update Nerfed Everything - Don’t bother playing if you’re new to the gameLet’s see…you took away land, are now charging a ridiculous amount of gold to upgrade the castle, took away gold mines to make it harder to get that gold, reduced troop count in battles to make it harder to fight, took away soul mines to make it harder to level up troops, greatly reduced effectiveness of training centers to get better troops (and charging gold now for that as well), increased the battle cost across the board to make it even more difficult to train troops, and I’m pretty sure that some of my troops disappeared with the upgrade. The one “bonus” of receiving more rewards when you level up is immediately made invalid by the greedy devs greatly increasing the amount of experience required to level up. Devs have officially made this game pay to play for anyone who wasn’t already maxed out prior to the latest upgrade. Trolling your user base to force them to pay is a terrible business model. I’ll give them one update to fix this mess, then I’ll delete the game and stop wasting my time..Version: 0.4.1
✓ Squad coinsI don’t seem the point of trying to play if your looking to progress at all in this game, the squad coins you generate from your 2 mines do not give you enough to upgrade anything. And at first they made it so you can fill your storage for 100 diamonds which helped me level up units easier but now it’s 55K gems which is no where near possible nor worth it. At least make it so it takes more Ingredients than squad coins. Or even improve the output of the mine’s themselves. Over it was a great game before this new update..Version: 0.3.4
✓ The update wrecked itWas a fun game, then there was an update which essentially halved your strength and feels like since then it’s harder to progress (assuming to entice spending? Who knows). Anywho, never done a bad review before so congratulations, It really frustrated me lol..Version: 0.10.1
✓ Terrible reworkSo we went from being able to get good mats and being able to do the story side of the map which used to cost 3 energy 5-6 times a day to a maximum of 3 and now the mats that you could get are no longer available there as well as a massive drop in gold. Add to that the fact that I lost half my building with all the dust that the training camps where processing as well as the fact that now all training camps had all the units I was able to craft now locked and I would need to upgrade the building and all it’s counterparts another 13 levels just to get to where I was before the rework makes this a terrible patch job. I feel like they either didn’t put a lot of thought into it or just didn’t care how badly it would affect their players. Thanks to this I see the stagnation period from when you finish clearing the story to being able to clear the dark version becoming much worse than it already was. If you’re a fellow player then I wish you luck, if you’re new and looking to start playing I suggest you look elsewhere because once you get to the midway point you will basically become stuck for a long long time.
