✓ Too many bugs to not be enjoyableI’ve recently started playing this game, started last week no less and had been ignoring a good bit of the bugs, but now it’s to a point where I cannot even load into the game at all. When I do try to bypass everything and log in with my account, I keep getting an error stating that I don’t have a connection at all. I can’t even load into the game at all. I’ve restarted my phone, deleted apps that I don’t use, and it’s still an ongoing bug that keeps me from my content in game. The only reason this gets the rating it has now is because I did enjoy the game, but if I can’t get any help on this, then this game deserves NO STARS..Version: 1.12

✓ Needs work, but a solid startThis game has so much potential. A good combat system and excellent characters. My biggest problems are that there is no guarantee of getting a specific character (for example: you want Aang, it is 300 draws until you are guaranteed a character. Not the character promoted on the page, just some random character. (Yes I know of the coin exchange but they don’t offer those premium characters, atleast not yet)) plus the in app purchases are really expensive: $89 for 40 draws (didn’t get a single character). If they end up fixing these, I will gladly update my review..Version: 1.07.02
✓ Got potential!It’s great to finally have an Avatar game with great graphics, (compared to what one said 2010 graphics is a lie)! The problem is the typical problem you get with “turn based games”, computer goes fist every time & you get less turns than the computer! It’s also already geared around paying to build up your team!! Make it faster to do without paying & you got something!! Update! Still no change to the characters!! On the beginnings of the games story mode basically & you go up against level 50 opponents!! Trying to build your team is like pulling a stick from dried cement! Got one character stuck on level 30 without ascending pieces anywhere!! Have the same character skill level maxed out! To get that character to the next skill mastery, a requirement is 50,000 “strength”! The character is at 35,000 & maxed out as I said on skill!! Can’t get skill higher or even get the components to ascend past 30, how are we to get anywhere? The developers really want lower ratings than 3.4 & they want people to delete the game by not fixing these serious issues!! The developer is picking & choosing who they want to respond to!! Update, got to love how this crap game went from 3.3 rating to 4.6! Many of the fact based reviews have been replaced with fake positive reviews!!.Version: 1.11

Would love an immersive experience; I almost fell asleep playing the game. that never happens while watching the show. ✓ Hitting a wall… a pay wallOnce you get to a point in the adventure mode you are already going against lvl 40-50 enemies and can only hope to level up or ascend your characters to catch up. Took me around 4-5 days to get one character to be able to lvl up to lvl 30 alone. If you want to even play the game or get anything good then you better hope to have some money to spend cause the packs with decent stuff costs around $20 but I mean you could always just drop $100 for 1 five star character and more gems but nothing to lvl them up with..Version: 1.11.4

I have one thing to say, everything in the entire game is more powerful at equal stats if it’s not owned by you. I’ve emailed multiple times. The game will not let me login into my account. When I sign in I get a connection error. This only happens to when I sign in. ✓ DisappointedI am a huge fan of the Avatar series but I really expected more from this game. I strongly felt that this was a major let down compared to the great success of the TV series. In all honesty, this game needs to be majorly improved in all aspects from graphics, audio to gameplay. Some features were interesting like the fighting mechanics but nothing truly captured my interest about the game other than the fact that it was a budget game based on the Avatar Series. The best game like this on the App Store right now is Shadow Legends and Summoners War. ✓ Doesn’t compare to other mobile gamesStarted playing because I love the world of Avatar the Last Airbender but the battle animations are clunky and I don’t feel as immersed in the world. ✓ Game not functionalI downloaded the game, I had a strong cellular connection and Wifi connection. No other tabs open. They game loaded very slowly and I got into the main game. As soon as I got to the part where I had to travel to the first spot everything froze. I tried to reclick the story option; nope nothing. No buttons were clickable, and no directions on how to move the Catara to the next spot. I reloaded the game three times after that and then just got a black screen with the only thing being clickable is the plain black screen and the gold ring appears and disappears (clicking animation). Overall, extremely disappointed because this game looked to have good gameplay, story, and graphics. Please fix this, I would love to play this if it worked..Version: 1.11

✓ Okay, but wasted potential.This game CAN be fun at times, but there’s so much that’s making the game worse. They want you to GRIND just to level up your characters up. Between the items themselves, the amount of items dropping and energy needed to do activities, leveling up is a lengthy process which is only made worse due to the fact that after all that work the reward feels lacking. This seems to be purposeful though to push players to spend money, which the items aren’t worth at all IN MY OPINION. There’s also a lot of bugs that need to be fixed, for example turning on Auto-repeat doesn’t really work, there’s even a game breaking bug where I got stuck traveling with all of my characters and had to completely start over because their support ideas wasn’t working and I didn’t receive any help after trying their basic ideas. I have raised it 3 times, been told to delete and re install, been told to ‘use another character’ (which you can’t for the mission). ✓ A ways to go but showing promise.This app has all the barebones of a great mobile gacha in the Avatar world but it’s not there yet. Honestly, having been part of the early beta program in Canada, I have to ask whether the developers are even taking this app seriously or if it’s a shallow cash grab. The game has all the bits to compete amongst some of the greater mobile titles, so why don’t you have a debugging team and a proper asset department. Honestly, ChatGPT could code a better system and I know because I’ve seen it. Keep listening to feedback and put some investment into the game and it will last for years. ✓ Terrible First Impression & Just Poorly Executed :(Sigh. Cmon Square Enix, what’s with all the glitches and terrible slow paced story and mechanics in this game. It’s definitely not user-friendly considering how the menus sometimes freeze and it makes you unable to press anything. We’ve seen what happens when you try your best to make a game that’s truly enjoyable and good. I think you’ve forgotten who actually watched avatar, who was influenced by it, and who truly appreciates it. Us fans who grew to know and love the show appreciate the attempt on a game method of story telling combined with gâcha, but this feels like an insult to avatar itself. The animation is atrocious, horribly underwhelming moves and camera movement, and extreme repetitiveness, it’s like you tried to make this game appeal to an 8 year old who plays Roblox instead of the fans who actually know and remember the glory of avatar. ✓ A case study on microtransactionsWhat can I say? The game has timers (moving across the maps), multiple currencies and upgrade materials (makes it harder to know the real cost of items), daily login rewards (to create habits and exploit fomo), a stamina system, and a gacha system for characters and items. At the time of writing, I was offered one 5 star character and around 2000 gems (whatever the premium currency is called) for the low price of £49.99! Really? Resident Evil 4 Remake, Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, and many other fantastic games can be bought for that price or less. Is, what is essentially, a jpeg and around 20 ‘pulls’ on the gacha mechanic really worth £50? I encourage everyone reading this to watch a video called ‘Let’s go whaling’ on the Game Developer Conference’s YouTube channel. It’s a good, if a little dated now, summary of how game developers exploit human psychology to turn players into payers. I love Avatar, and it pains me to write this review. ✓ So close to being okThe art, animation, sound design are all great but the one thing that makes this game awful and often incredibly frustrating is the god awful UX. From navigating the countless differently formatted menus, to knowing how many tickets you have before you use one to summon a character. The designers of this game either lacked the foresight to do user testing or just intentionally made the UI this frustrating. Even the amount of information that v gets dumped on you in the first few minutes of gameplay is downright overwhelming. ✓ Not Engaging at AllI couldn’t make it past what I assume was the tutorial. The game rehashed the first couple of episodes in a do-this-then-do-that format with little to no explanation of why and/or how. It was not just frustrating, it was boring. There is an overuse of “scenes” from the show. If you try to skip the “clips”, you skip right over the actual gameplay for that segement as well. So the skip function is pretty much pointless. The Rules or Help files (if any) weren’t evident. I’m sure there’s a fan wiki with information and/or explanations, but I’ve no interest in searching for it. I feel really disappointed in this, especially since some of the voice actors were quite enthusiastic about it. I am a fan of the shows, and rewatch them frequently. ✓ Lots of issuesAt its core, I’m having fun rewatching the story of Avatar again as a fan. But I am having difficulty falling in love with this game due to its lack of polish. Janky camera cuts, wooden animation, and glitchy interactions ruin the experience for me. Also, there is a lack of clarity in the game. I know that exploring areas that I’ve previously been to give me adventure points but I have no way of knowing which areas I have been to already or how many adventure points I am going to get from a certain area. Hero ranks require a currency as well but I don’t know which stages I’m getting them from so I can farm them out. ✓ Avatar pay generationsThis game looked amazing on paper. Its got all the Characters you love, including Characters you never knew. Right out of the gate, the first few missions are fantastic, but if you can’t get your players leveled up you can forget getting anywhere in the story mode or in the arena. And all of the activities will be limited to what level you reach. This game is so heavily focused on pay to play that if you don’t, you can’t really play it and have fun. Skill coins need to be obtainable by normal game play. The game should be rewarding players with kick backs and incentives to keep going. It was also released too early. I thought the journey was going to take Young Aang and his friends from the south pole all the way to the fight against Fire Lord Ozai. Right now the game barely has the characters get to King Bumi. Oh and if your team is not at least all level 60 skills maxed out, Bumi will wipe the ground with your face. He is literally the hardest person in the game to fight. I could not beat him. It would be acceptable if they just closed your game, but in most cases if it glitches during a battle you’ll lose all the resources you put into it. ✓ Really upsettingI normally don’t leave game reviews but this one forced my hand. The way this game is built is extremely poor. You can only get Adventure coins (which you need to unlock the next zone) from redoing maps you’ve already completed and gaining any ascension items is a massive gamble. It’s severely pay to win when 99% of the game is PVE. The drop rates for new characters is ridiculously low so even after you gain 10 tickets you’re mostly pulling relics from character packs. The game has horribly balanced difficulty spikes for the amount of materials you gain. I am incredibly disappointed with how this game is set up for you to basically have to spend money if you want to make small advancements. This game needs some serious rebalancing otherwise you won’t have any players. Please fix this..Version: 1.11

✓ Update - still a bad game with many issuesWas hoping the game would improve since my last review, unfortunately still the same. I’ve downgraded to a 1 star from 2. Unless you’re a fan of Avatar, don’t bother. Resource constraint is a serious issues. Excluding gems to summon things, the energy required to farm is a bottleneck as you advance in the game. The “hard” repeatable content/stages to farm for equipment is more than 10% of your max energy. In other words, you can only farm a stage 9 times before waiting for half a day for your energy to fill up. Game continues to have touch screen issue in certain maps of adventure mode unless you exit and return to the game. PvP has bugs that needs to be addressed to balance out matches, granted it’s in beta, but this whole game feels like it’s still in beta. ✓ Fixed the issue, but…Edit: the day after I made this review, there was an update, and it fixed my issue, haven’t had any issues since, aside from occasionally quests not putting the party I’ve selected into the slots, making it so either part or all of the party is missing, and I have to close and re-open the game, or the quest becomes much more difficult or even unplayable in instances of a necessary character being unable to join.Version: 1.13.0.1

✓ Game ending glitches and no compensationDespite the numerous freeze glitching, I've managed to enjoy this game and have already put in over $100 into it. That is until I had a basically game ending glitch where the characters are essentially locked in limbo and I'm unable to progress the story any further. I contacted support and none of what they told me to do worked, ie uninstall, reinstall etc.. When they realized they couldn't help any further, they basically said "oh well, hang in there" and proceeded to gift me 100 nature stones. You know what that's worth? About a dollar. It's good for nothing really, except for 1 summon in a gacha system. This after spending well over $100 on this game and continued to in good faith going this would get resolved. All for them to say "thanks for your patience, here's some trash" and close the chat. You need to make this right.Version: 1.13.0.1
