When it takes you to first battle in tutorial, gladiators avatar isn’t showing. To me it appears the “hero's” tab is open instead of the “gladiators” tab and that’s the issue, but since the game won’t allow you to tap anywhere outside the tutorial, you can’t switch tabs to select the avatar. ✓ It’s fun at the beginningWhen you first start playing it is pretty fun. You get gladiators and level them up and work to get heroes to lead them. You find out what gladiators work together for success. Then as you get deeper into the game you start to see issues. The first and biggest issue is why do I still get the weakest gladiators from my draws when I am over level forty and those gladiators are worthless to me in battle? The draws should improve as you level. Im not saying you should be drawing the best gladiators each time, but you also should not get 90% weak gladiators. The next thing that needs to be improved is when you are selecting your gladiators for battle you should be able to see there skill set. Gladiators get different skills as they level and some are better than others but you have no idea who is who when selecting them. ✓ Close but no cigarI was drawn in by the art for the combat, which is great albeit maybe a bit more variety in animations would improve it further. I played heavily for a week - progression is steady, plenty to do and use of adverts is good, giving you a benefit for watching them that’s your choice entirely. Inevitably you hit the wall where progress stops until you can hit a level that’s suddenly a bit of a jump away from where you are. That might have been ok but the 7 day reward either glitched on me or was deliberately unwinnable - I completed every quest but got no reward for last two so didn’t hit the target. ✓ Fun game butThis is a really fun game and would get more stars if it actually worked. The game is very unstable especially with the ad system. It crashes all the time for no reason at all. It’s constantly trying to reconnect to the server stops working, sometimes to the point my device is completely unresponsive until the battery dies and I can restart the device. The game is surprisingly fun for an idle game but until it’s fixed I guess the $4.99 I spent on it is just another case of wasted money on another mobile game that doesn’t work. No biggie here, that in and of itself is pretty normal now a days. Except in this app it’s set up in such a way that it’s made to be extra easy to spend your currency unintentionally. And upon contacting support (if you accidentally tap twice instead of once, so good luck if you have any sort of a tremor, you can very easily just lose all your currency for literally nothing you can use in game) they acknowledge the problem and proceed to refund the currency…except not enough to do literally anything with. Also not being able to collect certain items from the arena shop after I have purchased it and diamond shop. Most of the time it goes through and then it bugs and I lose out on the item. I have lost multiple gladiators when switching them out on the training manager. When adding numerous gladiators some times it bugs out and I lose the gladiators. I have tried closing the app and see if the gladiator is in my roster but they are not. These are a few examples of the bugs. I would love to continue playing the game. But it is very frustrating losing items and gladiators. If the bugs are fixed I will continue playing the game. I have used money on the game. You end up having to watch a lot of ads for the gems, ads for gold boost for a couple minutes, ad for 3 minutes of exp boost. It starts getting annoying though as matchmaking frequently marches you with much higher opponents (as in I’m 130 and matched vs level 180 gladiators)….which I think is intentional so some of your fighters will die (forcing you to watch ads) You can get them back alive if….you guessed it…you watch another ad…once you get them back, they reset to level 0. ✓ A bit lackluster with some disturbing legal obligationsStarting with the good, the graphics are pleasant and easy to look at for extended periods, the tutorial is actually useful, and you can technically play without paying anything. Now for the reality. The game is riddled with voluntary ads and when going to your arena, there’s piles of pop ups about all the different things you can buy. The game IN NO WAY IN ANY UNIVERSE IS WHAT YOU SEE ADVERTISED. Listen up well devs, advertising one product and providing a different one is not a particularly good idea. There’s also no logic to the combat. I fought a single beast while having 1000 more combat power and all my gladiators died. But moving to the second to last issue, if there is any issue with the game that requires legal action, you are forced into arbitration instead of being able to peruse the proper legal process. So rest assured that if the devs do something scuzzy or illegal, there’s no recourse except for an expensive private one that will favor the devs. Finally, you apparently own the rights to “user content” but cannot use it for anything and the devs can use it for everything. The game is functional, so it gets 3 stars, but it’s simply not what’s advertised and becomes very boring very quickly..Version: 1.10.149066

Some problems though, for expeditions I have been forced to do super difficulty twice and I do not have the necessary power am trying to choose lower difficulty but I am unable to even before joining it. Second thing is am using a maxed gorefiend and maxed minuator on stage 190-5 and though i pass them in cp alot my heroes get one or two shoted and that means there must be a balancing issue on this stage because though I pass this stage power with huge gap i get killed in a second, that is all keep up the good work and thank you. I’ve unlocked hero’s from special events and there’s no way to level them. I can’t get card to upgrade them because arena and expedition are too difficult without upgraded cards. ✓ Another bug foundWhen completing the battles during the arena. The tab to revive dead gladiators. It gives a choice to use a potion or watch an add. When your out of the revive potions. You have no choice but to watch the adds. When I do watch the adds. It closes the tab and goes to the home page of the game. I’ve lost many high tier troops trying to figure out good combinations for different matches. Also contacted support. Only to receive information I have confirmed on my own already. If your still reading this, just use your low tier troops For everything, endless it states. These battles will not effect your troop losses or gains. Which is only in expedition matches. ✓ UnstableThe game design and game play are fun but the bugs and connectivity issues are horrible one bug that made me sacrifice an epic gladiator is that he had a shadow stuck in the training slot and u cannot remove the shadow and it didn’t even give the real one exp so I had to use him to upgrade a hero to end this bug ,other bugs were minor to be honest but the connectivity is so bad I tried it from different connections and from different locations on a 4g connection it keeps the game frozen and doesn’t count your progress it even freezes the game if it happens when u are trying to recruit most probably u will lose all the ones that u recruited.Version: 1.7.129336

✓ Ads not loadingI’ve played this game continuously for about a month. Probably played it way more than my wife would like. I enjoy all the components of the game except the ads. While you do not have to watch the ads, they are very beneficial to advance faster in the game. The ads would not load almost every time I really needed them too. For example, reviving a new gladiator that I spent a lot of time trying to get and when trying to double the rewards from arenas or hunts. I also did not receive the final award for the 7 Day Carnival even though I completed it in time. It’s very frustrating to spend a lot of time working for something, only to lose it to a bug issue. ✓ Pay $100s to watch ads all dayAfter 9 days of gameplay I can officially give a reliable review on this game. I’ve played thousands of RPG games over the past 20 years, and Gladiator Arena: Idle tycoon, is in my opinion at the bottom of the barrel. All 160 colosseum stages are exactly the same and come with specific hurdles that will greatly slow progression and get you to spend more money on extremely unfair prices for what you get. On top of this, the level of ads ingrained into every single thing you do is extremely malicious from the developers and further, you can’t get rid of these ads regardless if you’ve already spent thousands of US dollars for some heros/equipment/gladiators, which will quickly become obsolete as you continue to progress the colosseum. Further, the game is very buggy and far from being thoroughly tested by the developers. It appears that the goal of this mobile game is to get the entire player-base to work full time each day by watching ads, and then spending hundreds of US dollars to see higher numerical numbers on the screen.
