✓ Do Not Waste Your Time!This is a lousy hearts game. It plays ridiculous patterns that would never occur as frequently in a real game. It cheats. It makes plays that can only be explained through knowledge of what cards you have in your hand. Time after time you will get the Queen in the first hand played. Countless times when having a singleton diamond another hand will be void & hold the Queen. It makes plays that defy the odds. There are better games out there. Avoid this one!.Version: 1.66

✓ EXTREMELY LOUD ADS GALOREThis is a fun game, but I agree with the other reviewer that the game cheats. The most annoying part is that they require a $2.99 per MONTH to stop ads. Living with ads wouldn’t be bad except that even with the sound in the game turned off, the ads blast out with sound in a quiet room. If the sound is turned off in the game, the developers should respect your wishes & keep the ad sounds off also. Probably another game by other developers would be preferable..Version: 1.66

Instead, I think they’ve programmed vindictiveness (a strikingly human element) into the program: If you lay the queen of spades on a player, they will, in the next hand, hold off playing the queen of spades (if they can avoid getting stuck with it) until they can give it to you. My one complaint is that, even in the “Hard” mode, the game-play still seems far too easy, with the computer players making lots of mistakes. ✓ IPhone 13I have used this app almost daily with no issue. A few weeks a I booted my new iPhone 13 and the ads freeze not just the game but the entire phone. First the ads have no way to turn them off so that is all you can view. I have to fiddle with it to get them to turn off. Then the game lags when dropping a card. Someone will lead with a club, and I will play a club, only to get an error message that I have played an invalid card. I will then play a heart, and it’s acceptable! I kept playing this guessing game a few hands until non of my cards were accepted. Someone lead with a diamond, I played a diamond, and it was denied. The app works great, even if it is only single player and not online. However, I would've expected after all this time for most apps, and all popular apps, to have universal support for iPod and iPad. Today I measured: although we have blindingly fast download speed, it took over a minute to load… the commercial. ✓ Just Ok. They Missed ExcellenceMost important Fact: this game does not include “show last hand” as in the rules of a real hearts game. Tricks disappear so quickly that they are impossible to track. (A true bonus would be an option to back track through the consecutive tricks of an entire game to see where you went wrong.) A Huge Weakness: The Jack of Diamonds Option: The game is also not programed for three robot players to weigh covering for the Jack of Diamonds early in the game. This removes a great portion of the element of risk in Jack of Diamonds vs. Queen of Spades strategies. The designers threw in the Jack of Diamonds element (good) without including any logarithms that mimic human strategy decisions. Good graphics with this game. If this review looks disjointed it’s because the review page does not form for an iPhone. i.e. I can’t see all I wrote in paragraph 1. This is an OK game, but the end result of these flaws is that they lead to bad habits when you play real human beings. They make you a worse player in real life.. ✓ Hard mode counts cardsI thought that 1 star reviewer reporting card counting was being salty but it HAS to be the case. I never leave reviews but I came back to see if anyone else noticed the cheating and I’m not the only one! I’ve played dozens of times and I can win maybe one out of 20 games? You can dismiss this review and just assume that I’m a bad player lol but I don’t think I am, I love playing hearts with friends and spades and am an avid strategic board gamer. The hands that are played by the AI have to be based on what’s in your hand - there’s no way for a player or AI to be “lucky” that often where they know exactly what to play and exactly when, unless it’s counting cards and all 3 AI know what’s in your hand (working together, which of course it will - its all the same AI). Im all for challenging, and this is essentially a game of awareness of what cards are out there, but the AI shouldn’t know “who” has which cards and it essentially does - so it can set you whenever it wants. That doesn’t make the game is hard, just unfair. Perhaps it should just be unfair mode (other games have that mode lol). It should be making educated guesses based of unknown variables per player/AI, not as a collective team that knows your hand. As a positive, the UI of the game is pretty good. ✓ Game Cheats!The computer counts cards AND it knows what cards I have in my hand. I have played hundreds of games on this app. I have studied it time and time again. For example, left player played a 9 of diamonds. One player played a heart, and the other played queen of spades. I only had the 10 of diamonds. This forced me to take the truck and eat 13 points. We still had 10 cards each left in our hands, and I closely watched the other cards player 1 could’ve played. They could’ve played their 3 of clubs, or their 3 of spades. This would’ve kept them from taking a trick, yet they played a high diamond knowing i only had one higher diamond in my hand, and knowing that the other players were going to play point cards against me. I QUIT!!! I’m going to find another version that doesn’t cheat. If I could count cards, and know what my opponents had, I could win just about every hand, too. I have seen the NPCs (non player characters) play the queen of spades when they weren't shooting the moon and had other cards they could have played instead of collecting the points. The NPCs do seem gang up on one player that seems to shift to others after each game finishes. This game is hardly realistic. The only reason the hard level is hard is because real players would never play like the NPCs in this game do, therefore making gameplay so unpredictable because never in a million years would a real player ever be that stupid. ✓ Finally deleted this app from my phoneI had this app on my phone for years and played the game nearly every day. There always were things about it I didn’t like. As many others have reported, I played this version of the game long enough to recognize that it is rigged against you. You can have the lowest score, yet other players, when given the opportunity to dump the Q of spades on a higher scoring player will choose to hang onto it and dump it on you in a later hand, at the detriment of their own game. It happens time and again and completely illogical and counter to serious human game play. Even so, it is particularly inept at preventing the human player or others from shooting the moon. This can even things out sometimes for the human. Another unrealistic element is that I don’t worry about the cards I’m passing and what it tells the receiving player about my likely strategy for the round. All that said, I still enjoyed playing the game UNTIL the annoying ads became unbearable with the addition of audio. I played this game almost exclusively as a way to help me fall asleep. It purposely plays cards that wouldn't realistically be played during your game and the harder you set the game the more unrealistic it gets. ✓ Used to be perfectNow you will get the queen of spades very often, specially when you are winning. Some how all others know what is in your hand after the second card is played at any round. You will get the queen of spades when the other 2 have smaller cards than the smaller card you started. Passing the card is rigged, you will always get high cards no matter what. Starting hand has the highest cards of all times. Sometimes, it will favor one player and keeps on saving that one. Even if you have 5 spades with the queen you will be stuck with the queen some how. I’ve been playing hearts for 50 years, some how i am always losing to this particular game from Optime. If there were (0) starts i would have chosen that. Never run into a game that MUST beat you at my cost, and you are NOT allowed to win no matter what. It seems that some reviews are like the game rigged. ✓ Open in background after close!I am rather windows OS savvy not Apple savvy but can pretty much do what I need to for my phone. I have a iPhone 5. I got this app becuz of the reviews. Blocked from what? Its an apple product!! Read what that means people! Teach ur self how to use what you use!! Anyway when you see these msgs plz make sure they r not fake. What I dislike about this app and why I believe wholeheartedly they give it free it because of these adds and spoofing adds. There are times when a heart is played on a suit by the computer and later in that hand that player magically still has a card in that suit. The other issue I have is with the leading of hearts. Maybe this is for the newer player so that he/she can see what cards are added to his/her hand. My biggest issue is with the deal. The first card dealt always appears in front of the avatar on the left. Maybe I am slow but I can’t tell which position dealt played the 1st card. Which really effects the strategy. ✓ Could be much better - no good for iPadIn many ways, it's more fun to play this on a Nintendo, which is a pity. I bought the premium one and yes, I play it a bit but it could be so much better. There's little ability to alter settings - the game doesn't allow for any 'Shot the Moon' setting for example, only to count Jack of Diamonds or not. Ho hum. The ability to play slow, medium or fast pace is good, but my biggest issue is with the graphics. Great? I don't think so. The pics of other players pictures are childish in the extreme and one cannot change or modify them. I'm not a child and don't like feeling I'm playing against kids! Display is very nice and clear and sharp only on iPhone - I want to play it on an iPad. I either have to leave it on the same (fixed) size as iPhone or blow it up 2x when the display goes fuzzy and cacky (a technical term I know ;-) - gee, guys, surely you could do better than that! And as for the sound effect of cheering when I win - again, it makes me feel you're simply aiming this at a kids' market. How about a bit more creativity? I like the sound effects of card dealings and it's very easy and intuitive to play. But why force me to tap a button to 'accept' other cards when I have no choice in the matter at all?? ✓ Game is riggedSorry for using that expression but this game is definitely skewed against the player. The computer controlled players work as a team against you and they always know what cards to play so you get stuck. I can elaborate with examples but that would make this a long read. I'm a veteran hearts player and this game makes moves that no real player would ever make UNLESS they KNEW what cards your were holding. If you want a fair game to play, look elsewhere because this isn't it. One star is one too many..Version: 1.51
✓ Was good but now kinda funkyI love to play this game and I have spent many hours having fun with it. But the past year it has gotten problematic. Right now, there is a Mahjong ad that has taken over the whole screen and I can’t get rid of it. I can’t access the Hearts game at all. And, again this past year, sometimes it won’t allow me to play during the game even after I have started. I have to quit the game and start over. A few other funky quirks have shown up: like a game too easily won; an opponent using a queen of spades to take a trick but having lower spades left in his or her hand (while not having a very strong hand at all, so it’s not a strategic thing, it’s just a stupid thing). I’m off to look for a better Hearts game now. I hope the developers work on this game and get it back to his former reliable level..Version: 2.06
✓ Rigged GameIf you play on the hard level, the game is so rigged that you can easily tell that the other 3 bots know what cards all players have, including yours and will connive against you so the odds of winning is very slim. It sometimes gets frustrating. It would be nice if its like a real card game when all players have different strategies and game plan. ✓ Ok... I guessThe bar at the bottom is extremely frustrating; in combination with the bar on the top, there's hardly any room to play. From what I've read I don't see any reason to upgrade; the bar at the bottom doesn't advertise anything. If anyone wants a good hearts game, I can't recommend this one. The best hearts game available is the one available with MS Vista, which is an unfortunately slow system, as well as being far from mobile. ✓ Filth is game is fixedI was playing a game and was winning by quite a considerable amount. As the game neared the end I was on about 50 and the computer players were on about 80-90 then out of nowhere from 1 bad hand and one good hand I get the queen of spades twice in a row as well as other hearts and end up losing the game..Version: 1.60
✓ Fun for a while but very flawedAs others have mentioned, rather than developing competent AI, this game just cheats to make the levels harder. For example, I just witnessed an AI player hold on to the queen of spades (I knew they had it as I was the one who passed it to them) when they could have played it against the AI player currently in the lead and instead passed it off on me later in the game. So, yeah I guess that makes the game harder, but no player would do that in a real game. So it's Hearts, which is fun. But the gameplay is completely hampered by the lack of good AI..Version: 1.51
✓ Waiting...So I installed this game two days ago and am still awaiting installation if that makes sense...? The worst is I can't delete it until it is installed and instead it just sits there, a blank app with the word Waiting... sitting beneath it? Can this be fixed? ✓ Computer fixes games- very predictableI have played this countless times to help me fall asleep for the past 3/4 years. Sadly after numerous updates since I downloaded it it has been spoilt. It is at the stage where I am on the Easy setting I can predict what cards I will get passed by the computer by counting my various cards. I worked out that I get for example an additional king to make 3, an additional 8 to make 4 in total etc. it's really annoying and has ruined it because it isn't random cards. Am now deleting app..Version: 1.45
