Push Ups Trainer Challenge for Negative User Reviews

Not happy about thisI paid for the app originally - now since the recent update everything is locked out and developer wants me to pay for a subscription that I don’t need!!.Version: 3.5

Tells a white lieSays it starts you from zero (or 1, I guess) but nooooope. Day 1 is 2+2+3+... that's when I stopped >.< otherwise looks cool.Version: 3.1

Extremely disappointed!I purchased all 4 (Squats, Sit-ups, pull-ups and push-ups) a while back and now with this latest update, you want me to pay more money? I already purchased the app. I was on week 5 and now with this update it’s telling me it’s locked. You need to fix this. People who purchased this before the recent update shouldn’t be penalized..Version: 3.5

They updated app to remove all features that I paid full price forI already paid full price for this app for full functionality and they just updated it to block access to the apps functionality without a subscription. I ALREADY PAID FOR IT AND SHOULDNT NEES A SUBSCRIPTION! Their loss, I can find thousands of apps to replace them without being held to a subscription after I already forked out money for an unlocked version..Version: 3.5

Paid for the bundle, now I have to pay monthly? As a way to support the developers, after my success using the free C25K app, I bought a bundle of 6 apps, including this one. Trying to get back to working out, and now I can’t get to the later workouts without a subscription?.Version: 3.8

Good except review naggingI'd have given 4+ stars if it didn't nag about reviewing so often. It's really annoying in that respect. Otherwise a good app..Version: 3.0

Not without issuesCan’t toggle in and out of the app (e.g. to change song on music) without the timer stopping..Version: 3.4.3

New upgrade is monthly subscriptionDo not upgrade as the latest version allows access to the full workout challenge only if you subscribe to their monthly plan. The “unlimited free” wording is scam because it is only for a limited period. Rip off and zero warning this would happen. I am appalled!!.Version: 3.5

AvoidOriginally paid for this app. Now it is asking for a subscription to unlock further levels. Avoid.Version: 3.6

Used to love this App but now..This app used to be great, in fact I bought the pro version of this, the pull-up, sit-up and squat version. However recently the pro version has been put behind yet another pay wall, a monthly or annual subscription. Unacceptable for what is essentially a push up counter. Feel I’m owed a refund on my one time purchases. Dreadful..Version: 3.11

Disappointed!I purchased this app last last week, and my card shows it was charging me for the 2nd month? I'm not even in my first month and they locked everything!!!!! Very disappointed! I'm looking for apple support so these guys won't fool anyone anymore! Trust me they will just take your money!.Version: 3.6

Am I missing something? Some of the other reviews state, "Does what it says on the tin." Although I have completed this challenge and I am yet to complete 100 push ups! The largest set required to complete in this app is 70. Can someone please explain? What's the deal? Surely the congratulations should come after completing 100 push ups. I thought I would try doing 100 push ups two days after completing the challenge but I only managed 92. I was very disappointed. :( Apart from that, I enjoyed using it..Version: 3.1

Was good until it crashed and now doesn't openBrutal.Version: 2.5

Okay, but...When one pays for the full version without advertisements, one is unpleasantly surprised to see your advertisements...annoyed even, when the icon shows notifications to go see your advertisements. FAIL...fix it, please!.Version: 3.1

Update removes your access0 stars. Your iOS update today removed all access to the app after purchasing it a few months ago! I want my access back or I want a refund as I purchased push up/sit-up/pull-up challenges!.Version: 3.5

Bait and SwitchI used this app for a couple years. Now they’ve changed it to a paid subscription app without notice. Not only can I not move forward but they locked me out of my previous data and records..Version: 3.5

Fine.. but you need Internet for no reason. The workouts are fine but you absolutely need cell or WiFi connection for it to work and for no reason other than to load a dumb quote..Version: 3.4.3

Not badNot a bad app but could use some improvements in the notification options. No way to select how often the app notifies you that it's time for more push-ups, just has on or off. And the notification I get is barely noticeable, I expected more user control for a paid for app. Would rate it higher if it did. The good thing is it starts slow and slowly increases the amount of push-ups each workout. Great app for beginners or way out of shape Dads who don't want to get injured trying to get back that chest..Version: 3.1

Money GrabbersI have been an avid user of this app for months, and have used it it was in early stages of release, and it's slowly gotten better over the years. However, after paying to buy the app and completing 6 weeks of the course, I got on today to see that they sprung a subscription service in order to move on in the portion of the app I've gotten to. I've used money to USE the app and it HAD the functionality, but they locked it up until I pay money to use it again. I find this completely unfair and unreasonable to subject me to paying for a pass that I've already been working on for months prior to today. I'm severely disappointed with how this was handled..Version: 3.5

Want to pay again for an app you already paid for?Don’t get this app! Recent update has locked me out of workouts that I already paid for. Unbelievable! These apps are not worth the monthly subscription cost. $50 a year to access what I already bought. It is reasonable to conclude that further changes and cost are on the way. Don’t waste your time or money!.Version: 3.5

Keeps crashingGreat when it works but keeps crashing to the point that I don’t use it and just do my own sets..Version: 3.4.4

Cool but only kind ofWish it would let me lock my phone to save the battery during the breaks. If I do, it stops the clock. Kind of annoying. Wish there was options to speed the breaks up or skip them..Version: 3.4

Update: no response from developerUpdate: developer said they would make it right but did not respond to email and their website contact form was broken — original review — I was in the middle of a workout program in this app when an app update forced me to pay for a subscription. I already paid for the these functions in the app. Now I am locked out of the workout routine and anything I try to do pops a screen that says I need to pay for a subscription. I understand that as a developer you may need to charge more to cover costs and make money. Totally support that! Charge as much as you want that the market will bear, but that should be for new customers. Don’t do that to customers who have already paid and were told the app had certain functionality. In any other business except the App Store, companies could expect lawsuits for doing this. Please reconsider and create a “classic“ app for those who have already paid. I know it’s only a few dollars, but taking a few dollars from someone still isn’t right. This is a growing problem in the App Store. This happened with another app earlier this year that I paid $90 for and it suddenly moved certain app features behind a subscription wall..Version: 3.9

Needs to deal better incomplete daysTo the developers: if you are working this program, you are, inevitably, going to hit a sticking point and have to repeat a workout until you can complete it. The app needs to deal with this. I should be able to attempt a workout, record what I was able to do, have the app keep track, and not remind me the next day to workout again. In other words, there needs to be something between “I never even attempted this workout” and “I successfully completed all reps and all sets and I ready to move to the next day”..Version: 3.24

Not good for anyone except beginnersThis app starts all users off at only 12 push-ups a day no matter how many you can do. There is no adjustment or consideration for people of different strengths. The interface is not intuitive; instead of focusing on the task at hand, pushups, there are lots of small icons and distracting graphics, and the buttons to press are often tiny and hard to press..Version: 3.4.4

Stole my moneyI purchased this app along with the other Challenge apps in November. At that time the apps were priced as one time payments for complete apps, no subscription pricing. After using the apps for weeks, I opened today to find they have changed to a subscription fee model and have locked the app, essentially bricking it. So even though I bought this app for something like $7 under clear terms of use, I now cannot use it unless I agree to pay them $50 a year. Which is kind of extortion. I would like a refund. I would not buy or use any of their apps again as they will likely change the pay model after the fact and charge you more to use..Version: 3.5

Don’t be fooledAll the people posting about how Zen Labs scammed all of the people who paid upfront for this app aren’t lying. We paid upfront and then Zen Labs decided to convert the app to subscription without grandfathering us into the old app, leaving only the first three weeks of the multi-month available to paid customers. Find another app. There are lots of us..Version: 3.6

$I paid a few bucks for this app years ago and have used it for years. It’s a glorified chart telling you how any sets of how many reps to do each day. It’s basic, nothing worth paying this surprise monthly subscription Zen labs is foisting upon us to double dip I into our pockets..Version: 3.5

Good app but…The push up app is great. It would be nice to be able to unlock the intervals for a flat 5-10$. The 60$ yearly subscription fee seems excessive for me. I don’t want to use the support system or the other apps associated. Deleted..Version: 3.20

OkayThat app looks great and performs as stated. My biggest grip is there is no way to edit your sets. If you can only preform half of the set the app doesn't let you enter how many reps you where actually able to preform which doesn't effectively allow you track your actual progress..Version: 3.1

Missing key features.I want to love the app but: 1. It doesn’t share your workout with Apple health. 2. Doesn’t date the workouts. 3. If you close the app your progress is lost. 4. App needs a calendar to show dates when workouts are completed. 5. Should include push-ups variations after you reach some number of push-ups in a day. Like throw a weight on your back and do less reps, single arm, decline, more challenges to keep it interesting. What I love: 1. Looks nice. 2. Goes up to 250. 3. Has me doing push-ups..Version: 3.11

Almost FantasticThis app works well to give you a progress guide and set clear goals. Unfortunately it's missing the ability to reset to week option, which makes the colourful graphics sometimes a distraction, especially if you ever want to go back a few steps or start again..Version: 2.8

Pro Access GoneI purchased the Pro version of this app last year to unlock the app and remove the ads. As of December I’m no longer able to continue passed week 2! I had purchased most of Zen Labs Pro apps as I used to like using them occasionally.. I have tried contacting them numerous times and have not received a response. I have noticed on some of the reviews they’re telling other customers that early users are grandfathered in but I have not been able to figure out how to be included! I would at least appreciate a refund for the Pro apps I purchased that are no longer accessible...Version: 3.9

Truly DisappointedThis app was recommended by a workout buddy of mine so I purchased it. I like it and it can be effective. But I already paid for the app and now I have to subscribe to the access pass? At least give us credit or refund us the cost of the apps we already purchased. It’s not the end or the world I get that, but if your community really is important to you then you need to correct this issue..Version: 3.5

CrashesWhy does the app keeps crashing?! Often the app crashes and refuses to restart. Same thing is happening for other Zen apps pull-ups, squats, sit-ups.Version: 3.4.4

No cross platform compatibility and poor support.I bought the Unlimited subscription, which is supposed to unlock all of the Zen Labs apps. It only worked on the original app I purchased it from and would not transfer to the Zen Labs suite. I have received a few months of apologies form the developers, but no solutions. Unsubscribed till it’s ironed out. But also reluctant to try it again..Version: 3.11

BrutalSystem is way too easy..Version: 3.1

Not cool, man!So, I purchased this app, along with their C25K app, a while back so this forty-something softie could firm up and out run the impending middle age mid life crisis chasing close behind. I can’t remember, it was something like $2.99 or $4.99 - but something I felt reasonable I just needed the pace and structure and I didn’t need any of the extra subscription-based bells and whistles they offered. So, as the fate of most softies, I get started and get part way through, then life and laziness happen and I fall off the push up wagon. I have recently resumed as I looked behind me and say my looming mid-life crisis gaining on me. When I first bought it, I had made it to Week 4, Day 2 and all my data is still saved. Great! So, I start from the beginning and today completed Week 2 Day 2 but something looks different - it locks at Week 3 and I have to pay a monthly subscription. I cannot even get to my previous cut off point without paying a subscription for an app I already paid to download - NO THANKS! I would not have purchased the app if I knew it would have locked at Week 3. If you do something like this with your C25K app (again, one I paid a reasonable price for the basic program but declined the extra features for a monthly subscription) I am going to have such a hissy fit!.Version: 3.5
