Adobe Comp for Negative User Reviews

HORRIBLETHIS IS A JOKE! How about giving us professionals something to actually work with on our mobile devices Adobe. All I can say is I am waiting patiently for Affinity to bring their version to the table. I have already switched to two of their programs from yours. Having used QuarkXpress from back in the day and was leery when InDesign came out, you finally won me over but bring it to the plate for ipad. This is like nursery school program. This trash wants you to design, draw all at the very basic level. Ugh. Strike three adobe!.Version: 3.0.5

Great concept. Please keep developing it.This concept is really good! I keep telling everyone about it but it still lacks a lot of features for me to actually being able to incorporate it to my workflow in a meaningful and efficient way. I am a product designer and I want an app where I can develop my ideas as fast as I can. I wish I could resize the canvas and create individual projects with multiple canvas (or pages). I see the potential that this app has. I see myself coming into meetings and creating concept ideas on the fly or using it during a brainstorm session or kickoff. Even for quick concept validation. I really hope Adobe takes priority on this app because it is definitely what is missing for the UX/UI world..Version: 3.0.4

Share to InDesign doesn’t work.Spent half a day creating new templates in Comp only to find it doesn’t open in desktop and hasn’t worked for months..Avoid..Version: 3.0.5

Won’t exportSadly spent a lot of time designing leaflets and logo on the iPad Pro, only then to discover I cannot export any of the documents to AI or Photoshop CC. I can’t even send as a high resolution image, as keeps telling me I’m a free user. Contacted Adobe and got nothing apart form it’s all the same problem and they have no fix date. As a user said before, many others are having same problem and Adobe offer no solution. Don’t waste your time on this, if you’re planning to export!!! Shame as has so much potential but a waste at the moment..Version: 3.0.4

Not working properly on iPhone 11Drawing tools aren’t working properly and menu items are two close to the bottom of the screen. The slider for the layer order interferes with the home bar at the bottom. The idea for this is great but there are always bugs when I give it another shot. I love Adobe products in general, so this doesn’t seem to be on par for the brand in my opinion. Look forward to fixes..Version: 3.0.5

Low quality exportThe very low quality export as jpg or PDF forces you to buy other Adobe products to make this useful.Version: 2.3

What a Hot MessI have never written a review before but I was so outraged by the lack of functionality in this app that I had to say something. The critical issue is that you can’t get your creations off your phone/iPad in any reasonable manner. I mocked up 26 pages only to find if I want them exported to InDesign, I have to send them one by one. And that’s not easy cause you have to have your computer open and then logged into CC. What a monumental waste of time. My exec needed a PDF hard copy of the project ASAP for review and I had to literally sit for a half hour clicking each and every one of the pages. I mean, who is the genius who thought only providing a link option and an export to BeHance was a good idea? What a huge fail. And then there is the overall lack of functionality. Since there is no inDesign for the iPad, this app seems like a good option. Nope. Too little functionality. You can’t even rotate a shape. So much wasted potential..Version: 3.0.4

When will adobe learn?Forced signing in to 'creative cloud', with no ability to try the app beforehand to see if Adobe deserve your email (hint: they don't) shows an outdated, past their prime company that fails to understand the ecosystem apple is trying to build. It's a shame because this app seems to have merits, but can't stand on its own because it forces you into a vendor lockin path of using all of Adobes tools, most of which are absolute garbage and people are jumping ship for lighter weight alternatives. Hopefully either Adobe learns at SOME point that people don't want bloated software any more (flash, photoshop, indesign, should I go on?) and opens this up from the adobe lockin effect, or someone else creates a decent wireframing tool on the iPad to compete..Version: 2.3

Adobe XD support ASAPI’ve used Comp in the past for quick page layouts. However I’m getting into more UX and UI app design and I think Comp with XD export would make the best compliment app..Version: 3.0.4

Useless AppIf the designers who created this app does not understand why and who designers use InDesign that shows a lot of problems. The app is a simplistic way of putting text on top of an image... which btw saves a lot of time. Thanks Adobe, should have saved the trouble for creating such a piece of clutter..Version: 3.0.4

IPhone X support?Love it, so intuitive and yet so simple, but working on my iPhone X on the run, can’t help but complain that it hasn’t been updated for the screen! Common Adobe!.Version: 3.0.4

Come On AdobeI love how quick you can creat shapes or a comp but there’s a few things this app is missing. It’s difficult to rotate shapes, you can’t easily freehand draw and the most surprising- your files save as really low resolution comp. Technically you can save a PDF but it’s not easy if you just want a simple JPG file. You have to download another Adobe app to import the PDF and resave. It’s time consuming and too many steps. I’m not sure why they left this option out. I’m going to try some other apps in the meantime..Version: 3.0.4

Good effort Adobe, but still not the answerThe iPad Pro in my hands right now is more powerful than most windows PCs. The specs are there. Give us InDesign! We want all the features we are so used to on desktop. Same with illustrator. We trust you with our money, we give you money every month with the expectation that you give us the best we can get in return. I’m not getting that value right now. Put in the effort Adobe, we know you can! Positives include very good integration with the desktop app, and a very fluid experience, as well as integration with our CC libraries. Dread it where credit is due, this is an amazing app for an iPhone, which doesn’t necessarily have the specs or screen real estate necessary to be productive with desktop InDesign or illustrator..Version: 3.0.3

Just for professionals? The app is not intuitive, lack of functions, I was unable to design anything 😞 It seems that you need a lot of knowledge to us InDesign.Version: 3.0.5

Ok, BUT COULD BE SOO MUCH BETTERUpdate to the below. Now this app refuses 9 times out of 10 to open on my iPad Pro. So have removed a few stars to reflect. DESIGN IS NOT THAT DIFFICULT, IT'S THE MIND BOGGLING AND CONFUSING PROGRAMMES WITH THEIR HUGE ARAY OF TECHNICAL LOOKING BUTTONS THAT PUT MOST PEOPLE OFF EVEN ATTEMPTING. If only InDesign was as easy to use this app is. However this App still has a long way to go to beat Canva which is the easiest fully loaded design App it's been my pleasure to use, it also links to their online site so you can design anywhere. Plus it's all free.Version: 3.0.3

Weak and lacking featuresThis is bare bones and as a heavy indesign user, it comes nowhere close to even making my iPad somewhat useful for going back and forth between a page in Comp and InDesign. Extremely limited text and paragraph formatting options, no real drawing tools, no gradient options, and fonts are a pain (though this is more apple’s fault). I just want an Adobe app on my iPad that is more useful with the indesign workflow. I want to be able to edit indesign pages..Version: 3.0.5

Where’s the update? The problem with this app is it’s almost there but lacks key components. A trend that is all too familiar with Adobe products. Remember when Adobe XD lacked fixed header functionality for a while. It basically rendered the whole point of UX/UI worthless if you wanted to scroll. Same story with Adobe Comp. A couple more functional components would be game changing such as a pen tool and more advanced type treatments. There are already a couple vector apps out there so many tools but their app experience is cumbersome. I heard Adobe is working on an illustrator version for the iPad coming out next year. Let’s hope it works for the iPhone as well..Version: 3.0.5

It won’t let me write 😒I write something and it goes away.Version: 3.0.4

Facebook login doesn't workFacebook login doesn't work.Version: 3.0.4

Stuck on downloadNot sure why but the update simply won't download...... it appears to be 'stuck' in download mode?.Version: 3.0.3

Wonderfully well designed. Lacking in a few Critical detailsI love using this app. I’ve been looking for a way to mock up on the iPad, and this is even better than the options I would’ve imagined. Just sketching what I want is the best UX! Unfortunately there are serious issues. Saving and sharing lock up the app. Want to share a link to your project or save it? Endless loading screen. Right now I have to save each picture individually and compose in another app. I would love to be able to update this review if these bugs are resolved..Version: 3.0.5

Does not workThis used to work very well however the export to indesign and photoshop is not working. The are long enough threads on the forums saying the same and little sign of a fix. Disappointing for a premium product..Version: 3.0.4

Seriously lacking key featuresGet serious about your mobile aps Adobe!!!.Version: 3.0.4

I love you but...Was thrilled to see comp and was one of the most useful tools in mocking up designs before polishing in CC on a desktop. It hasn’t been updated in a year, Adobe?! You need to fix bugs in this program. It crashes every time I try to export and I’ve had a number of issues where I got error messages for not being a member when I was always signed in for my CC account. Bummer to have such a useful tool that can’t execute properly due to unnoticed and unattended issues. :/ Would be a 5-star review if updated..Version: 3.0.4

Very poor export qualityThis is a good app for wire-framing, but when it comes to getting the images out it is terrible. You can export to an adobe app, like photoshop or illustrator, but the detail is missing such as the cross on images. Alternatively you can export an image, which is normally 4-6x lower resolution than you have been working at and looks like a blurry upsampled thumbnail. Come on adobe, full resolution export to an image can't be that hard..Version: 3.0.1

It's an app!I've installed and deleted this app on my iPad Pro four times already. Each time I think I have a use for it I find out it doesn't do that. It is so feature and function anemic that even the things it does do, it does with such lack of options that comping on the back of my iPad with a good graphite pencil is more feature rich and flexible. Im sure I will install it a few more times and delete it a few more times before I learn that this thing under promises and under delivers..Version: 2.5

Crashes CONSTANTLY, Continually, over 50 objectsThis app is great, and I love it, but when I'm designing something that has a lot of intricate objects inserted the program seems overwhelmed, gets slow and literally just crashes without saving the last little bit of progress. I've tried to finish pasting the last 13 objects about 20 times and am finally so annoyed and lost faith it is going to work I'm probably going to get a Microsoft product, which makes me sick to even say. Pay way too much for this to keep crashing Adobe. Shame on you..Version: 3.0.3

App has been Rendered totally uselessWith Adobe comp you used to be able to share to indesign and photoshop and finish off your work Now the share buttons are hidden on the screen to the other Creative Cloud Apps. Don’t bother starting a project until this is fixed.Version: 3.0.5

Lacks some basic needsUpdate: Not sure which app the “App Store editors” were using because this definitely does not do “touch gestures” as they mentioned. Yes for basic mockup but no interaction. They smoking something? Need to import into xd or other apps to add other abilities. ——- Only used for a day and it’s interesting but first thing which is the most basic thing it lacks. Paste. I’m constantly needing files from other things, or text or icons. Need to simply be able to copy and paste into a mock. Soon as that’s added will be much more useful..Version: 3.0.4

Why does this exist?I thought this was a way to make quick mock-ups one my iPad but it’s basically a slower, less useful sketch app. It’s not quick. It doesn’t recognize shapes easily and they often just disappear without forming anything. This is more useful for making a poster than it is for prototyping. Ugh..Version: 3.0.5

Needs An UpdateThis app is probably the best app out there for rapid prototyping and wire-framing. I use this all the time, but ever since updating to iOS 12.0 and the iPhone X I’ve noticed the app has not been optimized for the larger screen size. I would expect a company as prominent as Adobe to keep their products updated. I wouldn’t even mind paying a small price to support this app - whatever it takes to keep it updated. Otherwise, 6/5 stars..Version: 3.0.4

Multiple Artboards Needed Please!!I want to use this app to mockup an app layout, but I want/need to be able to see all the comps in one screen, as multiple artboards. If I could then export into Illustrator or Photoshop for further work, that would be even better. I love the speed and simplicity of the gesture-based workflow and I hope they keep expanding it too with more gestures. Until there's support for multiple screens in one project, this isn't good for mobile designs in my opinion, as all the screens are too disparate as different projects..Version: 2.3

Not what's neededA lightweight app with low capabilities. Needs to be compatible with iCloud Drive, adobe should just create InDesign for the iPad instead of splitting the apps into smaller ones and loses crucial tools in between. It's not like you're charging less for them..Version: 3.0.3

Stunning, could be so much moreSimple and unique gesture based functionality is fun and easy to use. It takes design to a whole new level. This is a wonderful app that every designer needs. Now, why did I give it 3 stars? Because there is so much left for it to improve upon. First, the paste function is no longer working for me and hasn’t for months, and the send feedback also does not work. Secondly there needs to be greater depth of features such as drop shadows for elements, gradient colors, and further manipulation of shapes like Adobe Illustrator and Indesign have. This could mean adding a pen type tool and allowing people to manipulate individual anchor points and handles and even delete them. A Boolean editor would be Ana amazing addition as well. I realize that these are mean to compliment the desktop apps, however, the world is moving to mobile more and more and if Adobe doesn’t keep it that would not be good. Lastly, the RGB selector does look nice, and works when simply adjusting colors that haven’t been preselected, but it is difficult to land on just the right number values if there is a specific color you need. If you could type in the/alums in addition to the sliders, this would be preferable. Let’s do this and make Adobe even more amazing!!.Version: 3.0.4

Major features missingCant export all screens in a project to pdf at once...must do each individual one. screen notes aren’t nativity supported and notes you put on the side of your screen are barely readable and are lost on pdf export. cant export project to adobexd. this is the fastest low fidelity wireframe/mockup tool on ipad with virtually zero learning curve but missing needed features that would enable user to finish project idea and export pdf in a manner that it could be emailed to designers with inline notes. So i’m stuck with using balsamiq wireframe on desktop....which is fine because everything is there, it’s just not as convenient as tablet..Version: 3.0.5

This was brilliant until ios11Problems following the launch of ios11 Freezes and crashes Paste function no longer works Paste in place no longer works Layers rearrange themselves by themselves Unable to share to other adobe apps Deleted fonts reappear Installed fonts register as missing.Version: 3.0.3

Almost usefulSo far the closest thing to a functioning hi design solution for the iPad, but still a far cry from anything you would actually want to use.Version: 3.0.5

Love it, also hate it!I have been using this app since it launched in 2015. And I have connected Comp CC with my Adobe Creative Cloud Plan, but sometimes when I want to save it as image or pdf, it always says I need to subscribe a plan. But I already subscribed a plan, it becomes very inconvenience! I hope Adobe will fix that problem! That’s why I canceled my Adobe Creative Cloud plan with extra charging me 50% of my plan annual fee! BYE!.Version: 3.0.4

Reviews are correct1. Would like to export multi page docs 2. Constantly asking me to pay for a subscription 3. Can’t draw pictures on the app 4. The people who have paid for their subscription are no happier than me with the free version 5. So I’ll continue to use the free version until they make it into something I can’t live without. Meanwhile, I’ve had good success using the app GoodNotes and it’s a lot cheaper.Version: 3.0.4

Only single page documentsRenders this app completely useless..Version: 3.0.5

Would have bought it but...I have to buy a bundle to use the full version.... I can’t imagine how many sales opportunities are missed by Adobe. I would have paid for it today but I have buy some package with a bunch of $hit I don’t need. Guess I’ll be downloading something better from a more flexible company..Version: 3.0.4

Bug with Grids + GuidesI used to like using this app but it’s been acting up for awhile. Mainly it’s when I try to add grids or guides to a page I’m creating. Once I’m in the Grids + Guides section, I have no problem adding the guides, etc, but then when I hit “done” nothing happens. I’m unable to return to the document and continue working on it. I’ve tried uninstalling / reinstalling the app but it’s still not working. Hope Adobe fixes this bug soon so I can continue using Comp..Version: 3.0.5

Potential, but lacks capabilitiesThe app is very basic and not the most intuitive. Feels slow to use - takes a second to recognize a shape. As a UX designer, a tool like this would be very useful however this just hasn’t been executed that well. Feels like an alpha build..Version: 3.0.5

3 years later not much improvementA couple years back I was looking for an app to wireframe in quickly. Had just got an iPad Pro an thought it was the perfect time to move away from sketching ideas on paper..... unfortunately adobe decided to make 18 separate apps that each do 1 thing...sounds like fun. I need this app to have the freehand vector drawing power of the illustrator app, and then some type of interaction functionality. Right now it’s in like a weird limbo state, I can’t really start with ideas because it creates automatic shapes and doesn’t let me draw a simple line. But the illustrator app doesn’t let me type text...the closest thing I found was an app called Concepts. But that Concepts app has some of the worst UX, and everything important is behind a paywall. I already have an adobe subscription but to my dismay...they fell short on most of these iPad versions..Version: 3.0.4

Another handicapped appIt’s such a shame that Adobe have not made that killer design app for the iPad Pro. This is so handicapped it’s almost laughable, you cant even draw a triangle to a specific size and bring an image into it. You can’t draw your own shapes and bring an image into it - all fundamentals of design. I’m actually shocked this is getting good reviews and can only conclude that these have not come from, you know, actual professional designers. Sure you can make square looking layouts that you then have to take into InDesign on your proper computer to actually produce artwork from. Hey, you can’t even have multiple pages so bang goes any brochure design. Come on Adobe, give us something better or maybe an InDesign Lite for Creative Cloud subscribers like myself who pay £50 a month! InDesign used to run on machines much less powerful that the iPad Pro. Affinity Photo has made you look silly already on the iPad as your photoshop branded apps are pretty lacking - I’m hoping they will do the same with Affinity Designer in the near future and then perhaps I can dump the laptop and my £50 a month creative cloud membership. I would rather use Adobe to be honest but feeling more like a cash cow to you these days..Version: 3.0.3

Can’t open indesign files?Why?.Version: 3.0.5

Kieran CottamI like this app because it does all of my print outs!.Version: 3.0.5

May be for prototyping but the end result is a poor user experienceThis should be a great app and I was getting used to its unusually creative approach to the Apple Pencil. Unfortunately I feel like I’ve been hijacked into adobe’s closed ecosystem of awkward, hard to understand, diapered approach to a cloud of work that never quite feels like you actually “own” any of your work anymore. I’m uninstalling this app and going back to a third party PDF creation tool that provides me more flexibility with how I share my work..Version: 3.0.4

Adobe comp CCBon pour faire des ronds et des carrés.Version: 2.3

Asking to PAY but no link to do so!I’ve used this app and love it for my light graphic design work! I don’t use a laptop or mac... I do all my work on my iPad Pro. Recently its asking me to have a subscription to creative cloud in order to export PDF files. I called support... and they said they don’t have such a subscription... nor is there an option to upgrade from within the app... RIDICULOUS... this great program now USELESS.Version: 3.0.3

Please fix the bug that causes two uppercase characters to appear whenever typing text! How was this not spotted as an issue?!.Version: 3.0.5

Feedback on Comp - blurry imagesI often want to use your app for creating slides with text on for my instagram. However, whenever I export them they are always blurry. Why is this the case? No matter what method I try - share as pdf, share image and I’ve even screen shot the image. I’m using the 600x600 px square format. I’m only using black text on a white BG. Every single one is blurry. Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can give.Version: 3.0.5
