✓ Some shortcomings1. No full screen support for the X series/iPhone 11 series. Par for the course as far as Square Enix games go on iOS and Android. Cannot reliably expect updates. 2. Touch responsiveness needs to be fixed. At times touches just do not register. 3. This is a personal complaint, but I wish it were closer to the first Dimensions game. This is basically just battles with a wave enemies approach. No true exploration in the vein of the classic FF games. Story is a bit lackluster and the fact that you cannot explore makes it a bit boring. It’s fun to pick up from time to time, but it’s not something I can play for hours unfortunately..LukeThor87Version: 1.0.3

✓ Fun but held back by its gacha pastThis game is enjoyable enough for what it is, and despite the gacha origins there's little grinding to be found, but sadly it just isn't very substantial. The story is haphazardly thrown together with you often being sent to random spots for no other reason than they were the last places mentioned in a conversation. The gameplay is pretty simple and will be very unlikely to present a challenge until several hours in. My biggest gripe with the game is probably the art style, which more resembles some generic cookie cutter jrpg gacha than any classic Square series. I'm not even opposed to different art styles, it's just that this one is so overplayed in mobile games that it's hard to ignore..Natalie-leoneVersion: 1.0.3

✓ DisappointedI cannot express how much of a disappointment this game is. I have been playing FF games since FF3 on snes. I was excited about the new dimensions after the first one completely took me by surprise and I loved that game. This game should be free. It plays like one of these free “pay to play” games. No strategy, story is.... not good. SE, you guys are the heavy hitters on the block. FFT is possibly the best game, maybe 7? But it is all about FF series. ✓ Don’t be confused by the title.The game has absolutely nothing to do with Final Fantasy Dimensions 1 other than reused sound-bits. Unlike a traditional Final Fantasy game, you cannot walk in this game. You cannot roam or talk to random villagers, you cant explore towns or caves. Battles and caves and such consist of pressing a button to enter, then movement is automatic. Battle is nothing to be excited about either. Boring and basic with no real reason to feel attached or excited about new abilities or characters. The story is also boring and already done in every other game. The artwork is lazy and ugly. Basically a gatcha-game without the fun parts. Dont be baited by the name of the game. I have absolutely nothing good to say..Nls0926Version: 1.0.0

✓ Ahh to me... it’s surely not a true FF....It’s an interesting game but not a true FF title... it’s more like another “Auto” game... this is ruining not only mobile games but now platforms... a good time killer just to look down at the screen every 30 seconds.. give me the classic Squaresoft back.. haha.YayknowVersion: 1.0.3

✓ In Name OnlyIt's like FF13 with the whole dreaded hallway where all you do is just hit forward and auto battle; only they've taken the go forward thing out. What a waste, this is nothing like the previous dimensions game where at least you got the first chapter free to see if you liked it. ✓ Ok but with flawsIt’s a FF game. It had the standard battle system you are used to in the PS1 era games wrapped up in the waves mechanic. This mechanic displays the number of rounds you have to fight enemies in any given area( I think a lot of mobile rpgs use this). However, you cannot explore areas freely (just like FF13). The major flaw I have is on the iPhone X (not sure if this happens on other iPhones), it is very difficult to press the buttons to confirm an action. Sometimes you have to tap 5 times on a button just to save or exit out of the menu. The story is a bit slow compared to other FFs..Kevington920Version: 1.0.1

✓ Wow and not a final fantasyBoring and repetitive. Lacks good story or game play. Everything you like about a final fantasy is not here save your money and don’t buy this trash. No world map , no exploring for weapons or gear .I feel like I was robbed. Square Enix I really enjoy the old school games on mobile as well as some of the new stuff you have released for mobile but this is embarrassing. ✓ DisappointingI’d give it less than one star if I could. I saw it and bought it straight away, based on the first game. The story is interesting, but what I hate is the battle system; which is just a rehash of energy based games, where you can fight battles etc using energy, and they try and get you to buy more when you run out or you have to wait to recharge your energy. This game doesn’t have energy, but everything else is in there for this type of genre. And this is the problem I have with it. Square Enix have spent a lot of the last few years trying to reinvent both the wheel and fire. It’s simply a free to play game, with some sort of stamina/energy system, but simply without the system. The first game was one of the most enjoyable hand held games I’ve played. ✓ F2P TrashI’ve been waiting months for the next premium Square Enix game and this is what I get? A stripped down F2P game with the same boring gameplay and design but no micro transactions? It’s awful. Save your money, or buy pretty much any other Premium SE title. This one is a complete misfire, and a shameful cash grab to make a failed attempt at an F2P game profitable by piggybacking on the brand name of a better game. It’s not Final Fantasy Dimensions II. ✓ Riddled with bugs, unplayable on iPhone XS MaxDO NOT PURCHASE First off, the buttons don’t respond to taps. I’m not sure if it’s a compatibility thing or some kind of obvious bug they failed to pick up, I can tap to speed up the talking, but in combat and on the world map my tap doesn’t work on anything. I have to spam tap multiple times for the game to register. Second, even when it is playable, the game plays like Brave Exvius, which is sqex’s freemium game. Final Fantasy Dimensions 2 is supposed to be a classic JRPG experience, that allows the players to explore the maps and travel to towns and fight monster encounters along the way, and they made it out to play like a mobile freemium money sucking garbage! ✓ Okay but really not worth itThe elements are all messed up. Fire and water are the normal colours but earth and air are mixed up. They also don’t override the usual way. Fire and water hurt each other as earth and air do. This is not normal and takes time to adjust. The story starts out very engaging but drags on and on and on until you either just skip everything or quit playing. I’d give this game a miss. I felt so agitated just trying to get through it. ✓ Not too badI read the reviews from other players and I think they have been to harsh. Personally I play jrpg since more than 20 years so I consider myself quite an expert player, and to be honest I don’t think this game is so bad as it is described. For sure you need to check what you’re going to buy (especially if the product it’s expensive as in this case!). If you’re looking for an old school RPG in which you have to explore the maps this is not the right game at all - as well as in terms of complexity/character customisation/skills etc etc...this game is very basic. It’s a game structured for a phone, so it’s quite fast, just waves of battles one after another and an interesting story behind (nothing special tough). Graphic, design and music themes are pretty good. I think overall it’s a good game to spend some spare time of fun with your phone (when you’re commutting for example). You open the game, follow the plot, play some exiting battles with nice music, enjoy the scenario, that’s it. If you’re looking for something more deep and complex this is not the case, however you shouldn’t forget that you’re using a phone, I personally much prefer to play complex games on a consoles rather then on my iPhone; actually every time I play a game on my phone if it is too complex I got bored quite easily.
