✓ Bug with scripts still a problemHello - great port of a great game. But there’s still an unfixed bug that’s been around for several years. If you export a character, and import them into a new game (which I do when making custom party’s, as I make a few characters, launch a new game, then change my mind about half of them before we even go anywhere…) it completely breaks their scripts. I have a party of 4, and only the character made at the start of the New Game casts their long-casts defensive after rests (Advanced AI) and the others refuse to - no matter what other settings I change. There is a fix, implemented by players only for the pc version as it makes use of the command console. But the console, and mods in general, aren’t natively supported in any easy way on iPad. It’d be great if the devs could fix this? I’d say the ipad versions of the series are great to have when travelling - and that’s a huge plus. But without mod support, you are missing out on an absolute wealth of content compared to the desktop versions, and so you are paying for portability rather than content. If portability doesn’t bother you, get the desktop versions - because honestly, some of the mods are phenomenal. And you can fix small hiccups like this bug..SkattotterVersion: 2.5.17

✓ Love the game but...I was very much enjoying the game, having been a fan of the originals. However the flaw I found was that there is no apparent way to transfer a save file from one device to another. The game needs a cloud save type of feature so that it can be played across devices. As it stands I am currently unable to play as much as I would like to since the device I have the game originally installed on is not the device I get to use on a daily basis..Nightraven42Version: 2.5.17

✓ Horribly designed from story to technical aspects!This is my first review of any app so take that into consideration while you read. I’m a HUGE fan of NWN and BG and couldn’t wait to delve into this new game. Once it start I realized this was worse than original Atari Asteroids. First it’s difficult to navigate, as an example trying to hold an item for a description is like beating your against a brick wall. Takes maybe 5-15 tries to work per item. The game is riddles with bugs, extremely hard to work through varies quests, can’t get certain dialogs options to start, and many many places where you’ll miss opportunities and/or items because the game doesn’t allow for all paths to be used. In other words, if you don’t follow their specific path, you’ll not have the chance to save people, talk to others, thereby missing out. Finally, the story is so horrible it’s like a child from the 3rd grade wrote it. Most of the normal character you can’t get right away and most of the other you can have join your party are drow, goblin, and a half orc which all give you a negative reputation. Seriously, why...??? The very end of the game happens leaving a significant character not saved along with a significant villain not even fought. Not a SINGLE REASON to have either in the game yet there and yet every cut scene is with the “Hooded Man” which you don’t even get to fight. ✓ NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REFUNDI didn’t mean to purchase this one I thought I had cancelled it and it still went through. I uninstalled it because I’ve never played these games and it gives no tutorial. I tried to get a refund once I got my receipt and it says it’s not eligible. I’m on an XS Max and it shrinks the screen about a half inch from each side making it way too small. ✓ Atrocious, disrespectful, and amateurishDon’t buy this, the writers of this Baldur’s gate fanfic simply did not get (or even worse, have forgotten?) what the classic games were about; they actually believed that using beloved characters like Minsc as a puppet to spew their asinine agenda was not going to end badly for anyone! I know you also have other things to do guys, but this is just tardiness and disrespect towards people who spent their own time on making translation to your game. ✓ Not the Baldur’s Gate You Remember...If you enjoyed Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2, or Icewind Dale 1 & 2, just replay those instead. Siege of Dragonspear is a mess of an RPG that tries to emulate its older cousins but falls horribly short in trying. The story is poorly paced, with dull, uninteresting characters. The villain is flat and fails to deliver a sense of threat. All of the characters you loved from previous BG games are misused, given horrible campy dialogue that reads like an elementary school child’s fan fiction. The Overhaul team has done some great work in breathing new life into the old Infinity Engine titles, but Siege of Dragonspear does not belong in that company. Hard pass on this game. *note - I previously wrote a more detailed criticism of this game, but it mysteriously vanished.
