Baldur's Gate for Negative User Reviews

A huge messI never played this game before. But I was very much anticipating doing do. On iPad Pro it's a disaster. The interface is klutzy, clumsy to navigate, and leaves new places completely in the dark. You have no idea what icons mean and navigating is ungainly and awkward. Clicking on tiny things is near impossible for simple tasks of combat and looting and talking. A shockingly poor version. I really expected more. Clearly the game wasn't tested on ipad by new players for the developers to make it work properly. Even the tutorial is ridiculously and unnecessarily confusing! The tutorial continually messes up, doesn't it actually tutor you on things, and unless you're already deeply familiar with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons v2, you can't learn it while you play..Version: 1.3.1

Great title needs workThe original was one of my favourite games and I very much looked forward to this. I am sure the game will stand up to expectations but you guys really need to fix the technical issues. First map outside candle keep I get giant black zones not rendering at all If I minimise game and come back sometimes the sound is completely broken Some of your menus have finger scroll others need to click on an arrow. Some of these are noob mistakes and some of them frankly should not have gotten past Apples review process. This game and its audience deserve better and your rep as a developer isn't being helped.Version: 1.0.2007

Crashing ConstantlyI have an ipad pro and this game crashes constantly in the arena playthrough. Had to abandon my game as i could not get passed the confrontation with the necromancer summoner. In the black pits if you somehow manage to kill the necromancer, Baeloth fails to teleport you after one of the battles anyway - making the black pits completely broken..Version: 2.5.17

What the?!Glitched and stuck twice at same spot in the tutorial phase. Refund please!!.Version: 2.5.17

Abandonware?I just spent $10 on an app that hasn't been updated in 2 years. That's my fault. But I would expect an app that hasn't been updated in such a long time would be perfectly bug-free...while the app hasn't outright crashed... I've been stuck in a tutorial with no idea what to do next. I'm a clever person- and it's not likely that I have missed something completely obvious... there's just three characters in a dining room doing nothing. The lack of 64-but support is just icing on the cake. I won't be able to use this app in a few months anyway. What a waste of money..Version: 1.3.1

Difficult to controlI'm a huge Baldur's Gate and general RPG fan. As soon as I heard there was an iPad port, I bought it. Unfortunately, it's frustrating to play. Touch doesn't have the level of precision required to play this game enjoyably. I'm constantly pressing the wrong target, fiddling with character selection, and accidentally moving. The HUD view is the same as from the old PC game. While faithful to the original, it takes up too much of the screen. I think that the HUD and controls should have been adapted more for touch..Version: 1.0.2007

Horrible UIThis is the most horrendous tutorial for any app I’ve ever encountered. I can’t get past the flipping tutorial to review anything about the game. The tutorial does not give enough information to accomplish the given tasks without constantly googling for help. The game constantly spams you with messages while trying to figure it out. I have never been so frustrated with any game or app ever. Did anyone test this crap? I should not have to have experience with the game on pc before using it on iPad. I should not have to google for help to get past a flipping tutorial!.Version: 2.5.17

Couldn't get past the tutorialBugs galore and incredibly frustrating. I was unable to select the chest to open ("what's taking you so long" repeated over and over again by my useless "guide") and gave up. Utterly dire.Version: 1.3.1

Dialogue box!!!!I was loving this game but after a couple of hours the dialogue box wouldn’t minimize and the game was basically unplayable. Half the screen was dialogue box and it won’t go away!!!!!.Version: 2.5.17

Heavy UI and too much glitchesReally disappointed with the Glitches in the UI. Got stuck in the tutorial. After an hour or two the UX is too bad, I quit. Some basic UI evolutions are required. We are in 2020. Does not worth the money..Version: 2.5.17

Wow...Excited to buy and play.. but no way should this be enabled for purchase on the phone. An iPad mini would be absolute minimum I'd expect to run this on. Wish they had included other features such as 'pinch to zoom' and utilized the entire screen moving the menu bars to scroll bars at decent sizes. Feel cheated with paying £7.99. Buy at your own risk..Version: 1.3.1

TutorialHave the original and love the game. Have reloaded from apps to give it another whirl. Unfortunately a bug has developed and I can’t complete the tutorial. After creating a party the characters apart from the lead all end up in the same place and no one moves! Is there a simple fix for this, please let me know..Version: 2.5.17

Great Game...But a game that thrusts purchases in your face immediately after paying the high intro price is an automatic 1 star. Great game, though..Version: 1.3.1

Love the game... but it’s 2020I love Baldur’s Gate; replayed it numerous times across many platforms, but... But why, oh why, no custom portraits/sounds?! It would be soooooo easy with IoS. Improve customization is what it’s all about these days..Version: 2.5.17

"What's taking you so long?"The tutorial is awful so far - when requested to compete a task I receive a "What's taking so long" (or similar) approximately every 10 seconds?? Every time this happens it also resets the camera position and requires you too dismiss a chat window before you can return to what you were doing. Who on earth would have considered that a good idea? It's making the tutorial intolerable, and therefore the game impenetrable, please remove it, or add an option to disable it. Until then I can't recommend this game. Added to that the item/information windows that are often obscured by the dialogue box, so that I can't close them and return to the game. I wind up tapping everywhere on the screen to see if it'll minimise or dance either, but sometimes have to resort to closing the app. Played on an iPad Air 2..Version: 2.5.17

Neera and Dorn missingAlthough I have purchased both characters some time ago, and they are listed as purchased at the App Store, the game says I need to buy them. And in fact when I tried to go to the app problems area it told me I haven’t even bought the app. As this is my favourite game, I find this all perplexing. Other than this recent glitch it is a fantastic game..Version: 2.5.17

No sound. No sound. No music. No voice. Hard to get into it. Running it on iOS 12 iPad Pro 11....Version: 2.5.17

No iOS 11 supportIt does not work in iOS 11. Developers can’t be bothered to recompile it..Version: 1.3.1

Needs an update.Simply a classic and it has lost none of it's charm. Controls take a bit of getting used to but it does not take long to get used to them. That being said, it's full of bugs. Not game ending but certainly frustrating... specifically there are some quests that don't get marked as completed even after you complete them... but the game still recognises them as complete so it really doesn't make a huge difference. I'm assuming a patch is on its way. Can't wait for Shadows of Amn!.Version: 1.0.2007

Cheat. So when under the description it says BG EE has all these extras extra characters etc some of it is a lie. You actually have to pay extra for two of the characters and they're not cheap. I actually want to complain to the company directly and ask for a refund but I can't find any way to contact them. I will however contact iTunes and tell them I want a refund. It is called 'false advertising' and it's not legal..Version: 1.3

Buggy and almost unplayable on an iPhone XThe experience is probably great on iPad, but the app shouldn’t have even been offered on iPhone. Tapping squares with millimeter precision is just a horrible experience (those of you with phone screens smaller than the iPhone X will fare even worse). Parts of the UI for character sheet creation would appear after the game begins making a large portion of the game surface invisible. The app would also crash when clicking the Continue button loading a saved game. Unless you have an iPad, do yourself a favor and play this on PC..Version: 2.4.71

Rip offDon’t buy this game if your planing in playing it on iPad or iPhone and intend to make your own characters. You will glitch instantly as you start unable to move your party. Then when you search for a solution you will find that most suggestions from people to help either require the game to be on a computer or need a keyboard, which touch screens simply don’t have. Don’t waste your money it’s a cash grab with an old title to scam you.Version: 2.5.17

Inventory frustrating!I really want to like this game. Yes the words are small, but zooming the font helps some places. The icons are still small but you can get used to it. But what’s really frustrating is I can’t figure out the inventory. How to compare items, look at stats? I try but keep grabbing the item and wants to replace existing. A click-hold just brings up a general description. Would be nice to easily look at stats to compare, then decide what to keep/sell/quick slot. It also be nice to have unlimited inventory..Version: 2.5.17

Deserves 5 starsBeing a commuter I was thrilled to see this classic returning to my iPad. Being a 10+ year old game I was hoping to see improvements. Unfortunately if you or anyone casts a spell, the game slows down to an unplayable speed (1 to 5 fps) I upgraded to an ipad3 just prior to purchase. After 6 months there is still no fix, and thus deserves the rating given... Everything else is great but the frame rates are unforgivable..Version: 1.0.3

Needs ImprovementWhile the game may be a classic, its transition to the iPad leaves much to be desired. The touch-based gameplay needs refining: When attempting to target something or someone, it takes several finger taps before the game gets it right. Also, spells aren't handled very well - unless you've memorised the corresponding icon to said spell there's no way for you to tell spells apart. I suppose one can get used to the interface and its limitations after a while but frankly it's annoying and frustrating. If you want to get Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition you're better off getting the desktop version. AVOID THE iPAD VERSION AT ALL COSTS. Sorry guys but this was really disappointing..Version: 1.0.3

Don't buy thisA terrible interface and many bugs ruin this remake of what was once an excellent game. A classic game like this deserves a team that actually cares about the original..Version: 1.3.1

Can we get a tutorial for this tutorial?Do not buy this game. I bought it last night and I’m still in the tutorial... They’re trying to show me how to pickpocket, which requires the character go into stealth mode and tap on the target, “Belt” (a person). I go into stealth mode, tap on Belt, but guess what? “Belt: has nothing to say to you.” Okay. Tap him again and, oops! Out of stealth mode. Let me just—“Imoen: You haven’t got the gem. What’s taking so long?” She chimes in every ten seconds. Every. Ten. Seconds. So I go stealth, tap on Belt, Belt has nothing to say to me. I go back into stealth, tap on Belt, he’s still reticent, and then there’s Imoen asking me what’s taking so long. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, but what? I’ve done tapped, double tapped, long tap, tippy-tippy-tap-tap, and Belt’s still just looking at me like, “😶.” Until they make tutorial for this tutorial, I’m back to Minecraft..Version: 2.5.17

Really? Do you want me to smash my iPad?I’ve been hearing about how amazing this game is for years. Perhaps it was 20 years ago. So far I’ve only got to the SUPER annoying tutorial. Not only do u have to keep clicking a specific button line by line to advance dialog, but the “tutors” keep spending a lot of time stating the obvious which just adds to the frustration. The voice caring is utterly appalling and cringeworthy - like an archetypal American teenager pretending to speak in other accents (but end up sounding American and nerdy in the worst sense of the word) and worse still other roles. The mage in particular has such awful voice acting it would be preferable to use nails on a chalkboard… Dreadful, but not ads dreadful as the “what’s taking so long” mechanic. If the devs were trying to get folks to smash their tablets then they’ve done a bang up job. I’d love to comment on the game proper but so far I’m stil stuck in the 7th circle of hell - sorry I meant this horrendous “tutorial”. Deleted, for my own sanity. This is the recommended action..Version: 2.5.17

AlmostDoesn't not appear to run properly on iPhone 6s Plus - seems to run in 4:3 ratio and not 16:9. Waste of larger screen size just to have black bars on either side..Version: 1.3.1

Love it but there is lots of problemsPlaying it again reminds of it was as a kid with some new features. But there is a lot of bugs. For example the scroll bar when reading item descriptions or inn keeper store items doesn't work half the time, the 'see what you can select tool' keeps making clicking noises when held down and most importantly my game refuses to open now after trying to buy the voice pack. Please have this fixed soon..Version: 1.2

Very buggyCrashed at character creation. Then unable to complete tutorial because the spell information won’t close and I can’t select a target to cast the spell on. Looks like a good game, but it’s literally unplayable..Version: 2.5.17

Xp cap at 89,000 and not 161,000The game is suppose you to go at 161,000 xp, but i cant get higher than 89,000xp. This is my main problem, Everything else is perfect...Version: 2.5.17

CrashingLove this game used to smash it when I was a teenager but it is crashing when I beat the golems in the black pit tier 3.Version: 1.3

Broken but still brilliantStarting score: 6 out of 5. It's Baldur's Gate. It's awesome. Lose one star for the user interface - it's immensely frustrating trying to hit exactly the right part of the screen in order to pick something up, and we don't get the cursor cues when hovering over useable mechanisms, so it's basically a game of stabbing blindly at the screen for half an hour until something works by pure luck. Seriously, it shouldn't be necessary to zoom in and suffer the terrible resolution in order to pick stuff up off the floor. Lose another star for frequent crashes. The game occasionally just closes, especially when there's too much going on for it to cope with (for example, a single area of effect spell, which is a bit of an issue in itself - iPad 3 just isn't powerful enough for these graphics). Much more frequently, the app really doesn't seem to like being backgrounded - switch to another app, come back half an hour later and you're back at the title screen with all progress lost since your last save. The impact of the crashing is somewhat mitigated by the very convenient quicksave function. However, when the app is struggling, the quicksave sometimes doesn't work, despite reporting success. Reloading after a crash and finding it has just "forgotten" the last two saves is REALLY annoying - lose another star for that. But still. It's Baldur's Gate. I'm loving this, even if it makes me want to scream occasionally. Well, frequently..Version: 1.0.2007

GlitchI'm completely stuck on chapter 5 due to a game glitch. The drow city has been sealed on me and there is no way I can get out. Thanks for wasting my time and money!.Version: 1.3.1

I don’t understand why Baldur’s Gate is remembered fondlyBG is the worst CRPG I’ve ever played, just terrible design. It doesn’t even have age as an excuse, Fallout came out a year earlier and still holds up..Version: 2.5.17

Unbelievably and unnecessarily frustratingThe characters hassle you in the tutorial Selecting targets is a mission in calibration and pin point accuracy The tutorial is unintuitive, expecting you to automatically know where things are and how to follow the vague instructions I want the last 30 minutes of my life back together with the $7 I paid as an experienced gamer to purchase this Serious UI updates needed for this one.Version: 1.0.3

Unsuitable for iPhoneThis could well be the best game ever created but it’s absolutely unplayable on the iPhone. The screen is just too small and it makes working out what is going on and even understanding and selecting the many menu items impossible to use properly. I didn’t even make it through the tutorial after constantly hunting around for the right thing or mis-selecting tiny buttons on a very packed screen. For an iPad? Go for it and enjoy. But for an iPhone? Save your money and buy something else..Version: 2.4.71

Control patch needed for a 5 star ratingIf you've read the reviews you'll know the main gripe with this game is its controls. While that's true it's not enough to detract from an awesome trip down memory lane when pc games weren't made to appeal to the masses. All the story, characters, items, customisation and tactical battles are still present, it's just a shame fighting in particular is overshadowed by a lack of onscreen feedback when using the touch controls. Losing a hard fought battle at the last second because you didn't 'touch' the enemy accurately is extremely frustrating. Updating this game with touch screen specific controls would make this an instant five star experience. Hopefully well see a patch addressing this in the very near future..Version: 1.0.2007

Great but...Great game, great port but... there are bugs (and bugs!). One can play around these but it does detract. You have to save often and just be patient. When these bugs have been worked out it will be a five star game. As it is - it's still very enjoyable. It's great to see classic games on iOS..Version: 1.0.2007

A good start, but not there yetI love Baldur's Gate, but regret buying this for iPad. As others have pointed out the interface and controls just haven't had enough work done to them to make playing this an enjoyable experience for me. Conflict, which was already not much fun in BG1 is a chore in the iPad version. Loot and doors are problems, but not near as much as group selection and movement, which require far too many taps and are thus tedious in the extreme. The graphics are nothing special either. So sadly, I've deleted it and decided to buy it for Mac instead. Here's hoping Beamdog will improve the experience in upcoming patches, but I do consider it unlikely. Honestly, I can't recommend it. Buy it for Mac or Windows instead and here's hoping we get BG2 sooner rather than later..Version: 1.0.2007

What a waste of moneyPlease do not waste your money on this game. The tutorial is dire and the gameplay is virtually none existent. Already deleted this after trying to get into the game for the past three hours ..Version: 1.3.1

Some issues from start.I know this game for many years and I was glad to find it out to use on my IPad, however I’ve been using it for 5 mins and the first issue just come up. There is no sound effects at all. Not good considering is something very basic and that this is a pay game... 🤷🏻‍♂️ What else am I going to find????.Version: 2.5.17

User interface makes is unplayable on iPhoneGreat game-shame that on the iPhone it is utterly unplayable to any major degree due to the tiny user interface....Version: 1.3.1

Please update for XS MaxI have this giant new iPhone and I’d love to play my favourite giant old school RPGs. Please tweak the engine to fill up the screen! The current letter boxing looks awful :( other than that, this is one of the most epic games you can play on your phone, and the modern updates are a nice touch - quality of life improvements without ruining the spirit of the old school game! Edit: It’s been 1.5 years since X and no X or XS, XR or XS Max support..Version: 2.5.17

CrappyI really want to like this game but the buttons are so small and all of the directions are so unclear, there are no labels for anything just small icons you can't even tell what they are for, no moves list so you kinda just gotta press it and see what happens. And the worst part is they'll be like "in the bottom of your screen press this button" but that where all the buttons are located, and sometimes it won't even be there lol. There was one distinct instant I remember that they said it was on the left and it was on the right. So disappointed i spent 10 fricken dollars on this game and can't get past the tutorial. Also doesn't fill the screen on the 7 plus and that bugs the hell out of me. Too small and awful awful directions/explainations..Version: 1.3.1

Unable to download app after payingI was running into constant crashes on black pits. Uninstalled the app to redownload and can not connect. It attempts for about 30 seconds and then just stops..Version: 2.5.17

Nostalgic appeal only?Slow on ipad2. And dreadful tutorial. Graphics surpassed by other games..Version: 1.0.2007

DisappointedNew to game so have needed to go through tutorial several times. Several crashes/screen freezes, resulting in re-installation and back to square one. Too buggy for £10. Think carefully before you purchase..Version: 2.5.17

Dialogue blocks “Done” ButtonTutorial dialogue box blocks the “Done” button on screens where you inspect abilities. This makes it impossible to progress without resetting..Version: 2.5.17

Very annoyedThe game is fine, i still am very unimpressed with the concept of cross platform, where i cant play with any of my friends due to version differences. Apple needs to get the updates out quicker or Baldurs gate need to purposely keep all platform versions on par. Something needs to be done. Im getting the PC version now and probably going to not use my ipad version any more..Version: 1.0.2007

In app purchase bewareI love Baldur’s gate and I looked forward to play through the campaign and experience the new characters through in game dlc. Yet they have been working on a patch to enable you to restore purchases, in case you have changed device. Since January 2019 saying we are working on a patch. September 2020 They are apparently still working on this patch..Version: 2.5.17

Don't buyThis game was great on pic but it is a money grab. They stripped out all the Ad ins that are included with the enhanced edition, making this just Baldur's gate. False advertising of a product. There are bugs in this game as well several of the character "packs" like buccaneer don't work correctly, ( the class will not allow you to put three points into two weapon fighting and strips down the character so you get a weak thief instead). Don't waste your money, buy it on steam, there are less bugs and the entire game is sold as one piece..Version: 1.3.1

The best game ever. 1/5 anyway lolFirst of all - I was 12 when this game was published for PC. It is a legend for me. Anyone who likes RPGs should play it at least once. I finished it 20 or even more times (14 characters I do remember). When I was a youngster I preferred playing this game over going to any holiday trip, no matter with who. 1/5 nevertheless. The experience cap is pure idiocy and ridiculousness, why on earth devs of EE didn’t think about giving an option to play without this stupid cap? Not mandatory, just in options. Was it so hard to think about it? Especially that higher levels need A LOT MORE xp, like in Diablo, so you won’t get more than 2, doubtebly 3 additional levels anyway. But you would feel like advancing anyway, yeah?! THE ONLY REASON there was a cap in the original Baldurs Gate is that devs didn’t make any spells over 5th level. So your spellcasters would probably end up with empty spell slots otherwise... But hello? They were made in the sequel, right? Even classes from sequel, you can play them in BG1:EE. Some spells from BG2 were added to BG1EE also. So WHY THE HELL KEEP THAT STUPID XP CAP?! Now I play with fighter/illusionist multi class and even before reaching Baldur’s Gate AT ALL YET, I’ve already reached 7/7 level cap. After finishing this game so many times you could call it metagaming maybe - but with full party, without any xp cheese. (Not going solo to Basilisk Garden to farm them the first thing in the game, for example). Just doing everything which could be done so far! It’s outrageous! Your character forgets how to learn anything at all. You kill powerful monsters, save cities and so on, but get no xp reward at all. Only occasionally new spells and items. This is just so stupid. Ugh. Just install this wonderful, amazing game on PC instead, get it modded, uncapping xp and you are all set for the best adventure in your life. It’s still worth it, needed to say. A great game. Not like Fallout 3, when I realised I’m probably not even at a half of the game and I reached level cap, I just uninstalled the game to never finish it. :-D BG is still worth your time and effort, a great adventure. But not giving an option to play without an XP cap in EE I just not acceptable..Version: 2.5.17

I want to love this game, but not scaling on iPad Pro 12.9Update: if you have zoom turned on for the iPad Pro, the game does not scale. Would really like to be able to turn this back on. 1. I really, really want to love this game. However, the game is not scaling on my iPad Pro 12.9. Trying to build a character to play initially is so painful, because I cannot read the text without holding the screen near my nose. Happy to change the review if there is some way to correct this issue. (Note: I did try changing all of the settings for display without any change.) 2. I purchased the in app purchases while on my iPhone. Those do not appear to have come through on my iPad. Further there is not an option to restore purchases..Version: 2.5.17

AwfulTedious rubbish. Stuttering and dull with a dated control style this is probably the worst game I have ever played on a tablet. Frustrating to the point of unplayable..Version: 1.3.1

No idea how to load a saved gameI’ve played through some of the tutorial and saved my progress. Going back into the app to continue playing, there’s no option to load that saved game and only to start from the beginning by creating yet another character from scratch. Rather frustrating and turns me off from actually wanting to play this game..Version: 2.5.17

Not sure what to do here, DLC can’t be restored…So I haven’t played in a long time, but BG3 got me back into the spirit. And I went to boot BGEE only to discover all the dlc says “buy” instead of restore. I was sure I had, but I went to the App Store and it lists all of it as purchased, but in the game it’s “buy”. Great game but it seems like it has locked me out of the portraits and the newer characters, and I don’t know how to get them back... apparently beamdog was fixing it in 2.6, but it’s November 2023 and it looks like 2.6 was never released. Sucks for those of use who spent the money to support this title. Any fixes for iPad?.Version: 2.5.17

Why do I need to turn off zoomed view mode??Using an iPad Pro 12.9 - I have it in zoomed view mode because in standard mode the icons are too far apart on the home screen and text is tiny. Please fix Baldur’s Gate so it doesn’t require that, or refund me and remove the purchase. EDIT: Yes, those options do not do anything to the issue. The app still displays as a small box in the center of the IPad Pro’s screen. EDIT2: the developers have acknowledged that their only "fix" is to turn off zoomed view mode, which makes icons on the home screen look and be spaced terribly. Not an acceptable solution considering these apps are the only ones I've seen that have any issue. Not acceptable..Version: 2.4.71

BuggyCompleted the tutorial successfully five times! Still unable to find out how to start the main game (no campaign selection possible).Version: 1.3.1

Side bar issueOn the iPad it was possible to reopen the side bar (after a few minutes of trying) but the iphone is too small. I don't know of anyone who even wants the side bar minimized. I got annoyed when it was minimized back when it came out on the computer. Don't get the wrong impression about this game though. It is one of the best games I have ever played (and that's a lot) second only to its sequel (which I haven't finished yet lol). But the issues with the side bar literally make it impossible to play, not being able to save, quit, equip gear, etc although if you still have the right side bar you can click on their face for a few seconds and it should bring up their equipment which u can use to get to the other menus..Version: 1.3

Not as good as they say...I was busy playing Civilization and SimCity in the late 90s, so I missed out on the Baldurs Gate games. They are always such highly recommended games, so I thought I should play one. Yeah, I think the high acclaim for this game is nostalgia-tinted. This game is not as good as people say. The UI is clunky. Much of the game is cryptic and not self-explanatory. Gameplay is cumbersome. The voice overs (not sure if those are original to the game or not) are so awful I had to turn the voice volume down. Wish I could get my money back!.Version: 1.3.1

Dorn is FubarAfter the last update, the character Dorn is in constant dialogue mode with my main character and won’t leave it, making it impossible to disengage dialogue mode. This makes the game slow and choppy as long as you have Dorn in the party. Restarting the game, dropping the Dorn and bringing him back into the party, nothing works..Version: 2.5.17

TerribleCan’t review the app properly as the aspect ratio on iPhone 11 is atrocious, almost half the screen is black but on either side of the phone, this makes this game basically unplayable on the phone, I would like to request a refund as this product is not fit for purpose.Version: 2.5.17

DisappointingWhenever an area of effect spell is case (such as web) the gameplay slows down to a crawl and the only way to play it is not to look at the screen. This is the large bug and shows poor coding on their part because the IPad has the technology to run it. I simply try not to use any persistent area of effects (although sometimes your have to). Otherwise, tapping the screen to command your guys is not that difficult to do, it just takes some time to get use to it and it has been an addictive experience. They really need to fix this; it would easily be a top seller and worth the 5/5 score which it deserves..Version: 1.0.2007

First ImpressionsAfter reading all the "rave reviews" on this PC to ISO port, like an idiot I bought into the hype and purchased this title. One review hit the nail on the head. While graphically stunning, the game is harder than it should be to understand what the Tutorial is actually trying to make you do. Without an image of the "icon" we are being instructed to use I found myself clicking on everything to find what they were talking about. But after several failed attempts the NPC was kind enough to explain it a little bit better. But it's just not good enough and really talks away from any enjoyment one might expect to get from such a great game. I highly recommend that no one purchase this title until the Tutorial has been redone so that you can move on and learn as you go. Do you really think telling us to do one thing after another, for God only knows how long, that we would remember all that stuff? Teach the game to it as we go... Show us as we need to know it. Very Disappointed. Oh, and only because I am forced to give it atleast one star, which should be against any thing that resembles a moral, that's all I think it deserves right now. The uninformative tutorial just ruins what should be an awesome beginning to an Epic Quest..Version: 1.3.1

Key Character Personalities DestroyedGreat game. Some significant changes were made to several characters to cater to a very small minority that might play this game, and the personalities were stripped from a couple characters, fairly important ones. This is how you ruin a game. Luckily it’s still playable but I’m really disappointed about Jaheira and Safana. It’s just not the same game. Would get 5 stars from me but guess I will just go back to PC. Not cool. With all the other crap that is happening in this world like humans being sold and bought and 10 million people dying from smoking related causes and governments working with cartels to traffic drugs somehow this is offensive and unacceptable? These changes are so out of touch and need to be an option called |_| POLITICALLY CORRECT.Version: 2.5.17

Terrible Gameplay! My husband and I played Baldur’s Gate on our original X-Box, and loved the game. When I saw it was available on the iPad, I had to give it a try. The gameplay is absolutely terrible on the iPad. I got stuck in the tutorial, with little guidance on what to do. Moving around isn’t easy, nor is using a spell or attacking someone. The touch screen just doesn’t work well. If you don’t touch in exactly the right place, you can’t do anything. And the graphics make it very hard to know what spells you have available, as they are not described without a hard press and hold, and the images are hard to see. (I have a 9.7” screen, too.).Version: 2.5.17

Side bar bugOne of the best games ever and set the standard for rpg's for a decade. Unfortunately I have fallen victim to the same tool bar minimisation bug. Except mine is the right tool bar rendering the game un playable. The tab is too small on a phone to click. I would rate this game 5 stars if I could continue to play it. All that is needed is a patch removing the minimisation completely, no one EVER played this game without all tool bars....Version: 1.3
