Hearing Remote for Negative User Reviews

Needs improvingWhat could be a perfect app has a major let down. The hearing aids sometimes don’t connect to the app. They connect to the phone via Bluetooth so they work fine it’s just the app, the programs don’t appear the only one I can access is automatic. This needs to be sorted because the app is vital to getting the best of the hearing aids and for the price you would expect the app to be working as it should ..Version: 2.1.0

Redesign a backward stepSince the redesign the volume control had become unresponsive in classic mode on my iPhone 13. Thank goodness for - so called - advanced mode. The volume control does work here. So the app works only 50%..Version: 5.0.1

Very unreliableI’ve had my new hearing aids for over a month now and I’ve had to reboot this app at least 10 times during this very short time. Not helpful or reliable. I keep hoping it will improve! Would give it zero if I could..Version: 2.2.0

So disappointedAs others have said the app could be good but it is tragically unreliable Seldom works for more than a day or two before having to be deleted and reinstalled Looking for an alternative.Version: 4.1.0

First time in noisy restaurantI thought my hearing aids would work fine. But it was not to be. Set to restaurant default, the treble sound was too high. i kept getting a whispering static or whistling on my right ear. Using the app l, i lowered the treble setting, but it didnt help much. the restaurant had marble walls and highly reverberant noise. But it was disappointing not to be able to make the proper adjustment. -Jan Herman.Version: 4.4.0

Buggy and needs update like its Unitron sister appSonova AG wrote this app and the sister app for Unitron. My hearing aids are made by Unitron, but are sold under the Audicus brand. Same hearing aids, yet the Hearing Remote app is V 3.02 and hasn’t been updated in over 5 months. The Unitron app is V 3.03 and was updated 2 months ago. No idea what the enhancements were, but it hardly seems right does it? And to boot, it’s buggy. Under “Programs” there is an entry for “Bluetooth Streaming” which allows you to adjust for “Media” or “Surroundings.” It basically seems to be a bass and treble adjustment – when you can access it. If you visit “My hearing aids > My programs” it’s the last entry in the list. I’ll be darned if I know how I ever got to it 3 or 4 times, but I did. I’ve spent the better part of an afternoon trying to replicate the efforts that took me to it those few times. So come on Sonova AG - don’t treat Audicus like a red-headed stepchild. Keep the apps in sync and fix the bugs. And improve it..Version: 3.0.2

Keeps dropping out of BluetoothI have just paid nearly £1600 for digital hearing aid from boots! I paid this to get digital aids to listen to my music which is a big part of my live! I downloaded this app to adjust volume etc from iPhone as I hate fiddling around on small buttons on back of aids, worked well but now it keeps dropping out either both aids or one constantly ,so I have to re connect consistently which is ridiculous please sort this out ASAP thanks Paul.Version: 4.3.1

Specsavers Advance70The revamped UI doesn’t render correctly on my iPhone 11 Pro. Clipping at edges. Makes using the app very irritating..Version: 5.0.1

Doesn’t work on iPhoneApp works well on my iPad but will only connect left side on my iPhone..Version: 5.0.1

Not connectingWhat is the code to connect my hearing aid with this app?? Just impossible, congrats, hearing aid apps should be helping us with hearing problems, but you making our life worse. Thank you, zero star!.Version: 3.0.2

Needs improvementHearing aids do not stay paired with the app.Version: 4.0.1

Massive let down!I was a first very excited about using this app with my new hearing aids, massive let down! Difficult to connect without constantly having to delete & reinstall, it also turns off my hearing aids every time I open another app even when sending & receive a txt! Such a shame when paying so much for blutooth hearing aids..Version: 2.1.0

HROther hearing aid apps by other hearing aid makers are different, more modern with more features.Version: 4.4.0

Zero stars!!!Keeps disconnecting my left device and now after rebooting it keeps saying only one device found. When connecting the text that comes up is overlapping with other text. Awful app and unfortunately it is the only one I can use so I’m stuck with it!.Version: 4.3.1

Reliable connection is the main problemHaving the ability to adjust your hearing aids to the noise of your surroundings is really beneficial to get good performance from my Specsaver Advance Elite hearing aids. When the Apps connects and stays connected to my hearing aids it works well but it does not maintain a reliable connection especially in changing environments. If I am in a fairly constant quiet environment like at home or in the office, it mostly stays connected to the App, although in these scenarios you don’t need to change the settings unless you want them to focus on the TV or video conference sound. But if you are going out for the day and you want to change the App programs due changing environments like travelling in a car, a train, or being outdoors, or in a cafe or restaurant then the App is totally unreliable and regularly disconnects from your hearing aids. When this happens you are lucky if you can reconnect by just turning both hearing aids off and on again. Usually you have to delete the App, reload it from the App Store and then go through the set up process again. Obviously you have to do this sitting down because you have to take your hearing aids off to turn them off and on again at the same time that setting up the App for them to connect and this all depends on how good a phone/WiFi signal you have got to be able to download the App. This is usually what I am now doing in a cafe or restaurant while I’m waiting for the food/drinks to arrive! It is when you are going out for the day and you want to adjust to the changing environments is when you need the App to work the most but this is when the connection between the App and hearing aids is unreliable. This is annoying because the Bluetooth connection between my iPhone and the hearing aids is reliable, it is the connection between this App and hearing aids which is the problem. If Apple could develop a basic hearing aid noise background adjustment function in their health App for future iOS releases then we could do anyway with unreliable third party Apps like this one..Version: 4.5.0

Does need improvingI like the simplicity but it seems to fail or reset itself, really not sure just know it drops, so please do a little more work on the app. It only has a 3.9 on the App Store out of five. Thanks.Version: 4.1.0

Completely uselessTitle says it all really, fails to recognise hearing aids despite them being linked to iphone and music playing thru them. Complete waste if time..Version: 4.0.1

Useless like the other reviews saySpecksavers need to sort it out and create their own app or not advise their customers to use this rubbish..Version: 4.1.0

TerribleBluetooth connects but when app closes disconnects..Version: 5.0.1

New app designI was happy when I connected my hearing aids this morning to note that the design has been completely updated. It looks so much more professional and is simple to use. The old app was basic and not up to the standard you would expect from Phonak..Version: 5.0.1

UselessVery basic only program available is auto. Where is the speech in noise shown in the demo. App is made by unitron / phonak who make specsavers advance. Unitron plus app much more features however won’t pair with specsavers. Disappointed..Version: 4.5.0

Frustrating AppIt’d be ok and not much more if it didn’t drop out and have to be deleted and re installed so often. Sick of it. The drop outs make it less, far less, than just ok. It makes it the most annoying app I’ve ever used..Version: 5.0.1

Terrible UpgradeThe original app was simple to use and it worked. This is not an improvement. Keeps turning off my right hearing aid. Terrible..Version: 5.0.1

This has got to be the worst app in the worldMy aids disconnect themselves from my phone at least twice a week. I can’t leave them on automatic because I can’t stand the hissing. For the money paid I expected better than this especially as I bought from specsavers who I’ve been with for my glasses for many years..Version: 4.4.0

UselessControls column only. No instructions on how to link to tv. No way to adjust bass and treble..Version: 2.1.0

Would not have purchased hearing aids!I use “TV Connector” with computer. It constantly disconnects. Previous hearings were fine. These are hopeless and incredibly frustrating. I do not recommend these hearing aids if intending to use “TV Connector” with computer..Version: 4.2.0

FlawedAbsolutely shocking app. Does nothing other than allows volume to be adjusted. When downloaded it looks nothing like the app and how it is presented. No ability to adjust other features. Completely flawed & a waste of time..Version: 4.4.0

Pretty awfulIt constantly only recognises one side. Never works as it’s supposed to. Hopefully someone will update it as it’s useless and frustrating ... come on guys sharpen up before Apple invent AirPods as a hearing aid!.Version: 3.0.2

App connectionHorrible app never stays connected to hearing why have app as it now limits use.Version: 4.1.0

Nothing but problemsWorst app I’ve ever used. I downloaded this because my grandfather needed to be able to control his hearing aid volume with something he could see instead of the buttons on his hearing aids. It was easy to connect to Bluetooth, but that’s not rocket science. The issue comes in when the app decides to change the single slider with a double slider FOR NO REASON. It was confusing for him and his wife as well as being difficult to resolve. It gives you the option to change it back to one slider or change it to two, that’s true. The issue comes in when the app arbitrarily decides to change to a double slider when the selection mode is not activated. It doesn’t give a reason as to why it changes it and it doesn’t seem to have a pattern. I would not recommend this app to anyone who has issues with technology. I’ve had an iPhone for 10 years and I struggled with figuring out how to problem solve this app. One redeeming feature: it was completely free. We had to purchase a $285 hearing aid remote from the dealer just to be able to function. Seriously, whoever programmed this needs to rethink the structure. Hope y’all have better luck than we did..Version: 4.0.1

UpdateThe app was updated several weeks ago and there are problems with it. The "Mute" doesn't do anything. With the TV off and the app set at "Automatic" if I step out of the house the app turns the hearing aids into TV Connector. With the TV on and getting audio from it if I open another app on my IPhone the audio from the TV stops. Every time I open the app it shows "Undifined" then "Split" and then "Automatic" just like I set it before. On my IPhone the hour and battery percentage are grayed when using the app. It's dangerous when the app turns the hearing aids into TV Connector once I live the house. Let me know if there is an update soon. The Audicus CEO must have hired an amateur app developer to update the app. That is why the update is beyond horrible..Version: 5.0.1

It’s 2023 fix the appWhen I first got my hearing aids the app worked decent but now it has trouble staying connected to the Bluetooth which is super annoying and it interferes with my job! Fix the app it’s 2023 it shouldn’t be this difficult with all the technology that we have..Version: 4.4.0

Will not stay connectedIf you want an app to stay connected to your hearing aids, via Bluetooth, find something else besides this app. I am so frustrated and trying to find a new app now to work..Version: 4.4.0

Hearing remoteI rated this zero. It partially worked for a few days, occasionally having to be rebooted. Now it will not connect to my devices at all despite repeated attempts. I cannot consult my audiologist because of lockdown but there must be something better than this ,especially with the high price of my hearing aids. One of the deciding factors for buying this model was Bluetooth connectivity, sadly not available!....this review will not accept zero rating, so I gave a ‘1’.... I’m lying!.Version: 2.2.0

Program settingDoesn’t remember any adjustments made, have to reset each time when changing programs. Have been told nothing can be done..Version: 4.4.0

Impossible to useApp spins and spins and can’t find hearing aid. All appropriate steps taken. Failed. Useless app.Version: 4.1.0

Waste of your time doesn’t connectDoes not work.Version: 4.0.1

Hearing remote appResets by itself and gets really loud when I get incoming calls thru my hearing aid is annoying 😌.Version: 4.4.0

Scratchy phone calls and …My instructions to close the adaptive Bluetooth were supposed to fix that, but no go. I’m gave that button seems to turn itself back on. Ive deleted the app are re-downloaded it several times it keeps telling me I cannot access the adjustments because Bluetooth isn’t working- when in fact it is: aids are pairs to my phone!.Version: 4.1.0

Ipad issueIt doesn’t work on my ipad..Version: 4.2.0

Specsavers Advance Elite app problemsHave been a hearing aid wearer for 5 years (1 year + with Specsavers = both ears). Closing your app on an IPhone 12mini keeps knocking the connection! Have you any suggestions to overcome this? I am assuming I am using the correct app but if not the other possible app “myRemote app” doesn’t seem, from reviews, to work any better?!.Version: 4.3.1

Pairing appHard to pair app with hearing aids Even though hearing aids are connected to Bluetooth keep receiving messages not connected Poorly designed.Version: 4.0.1

UnreliableWorked first time when installed. But refuses to connect after this..Version: 2.2.0

Utter rubbishCan’t give it zero stars but that’s all it deserves. No matter how many times I try, it will not allow me to switch off the demo mode and KEEPS on asking me to apply 2 updates. None of the controls work. It is utterly useless and should be removed from the App Store..Version: 4.1.0

I don’t like itThis app does not serve me.Version: 5.0.1

CrapWorked ok for some months but suddenly it won’t recognise Bluetooth simply won’t connect. Not what I expect having paid £2000 for my aids. It isn’t worth one star but one has to be ticked to upload my review..Version: 4.1.0

Very limited functionalityAn app which only reduces/increases the volume or mutes the hearing aids. The volume control is for both aids simultaneously. You cannot adjust L & R separately. Only has an auto program... nothing else. That’s all this app does. Battery indicator for aids would be super helpful. L&R adjustments would be helpful. Power off the aids would be helpful. Really disappointed in the lack of features..Version: 2.2.0

Updated app doesn’t workEver since you updated the app it doesn’t pair with my right hearing aid is Bluetooth but does for the left one. I’ve tried contacting support but it goes in a help guide loop. So writing a review to hopefully get some support..Version: 5.0.1

Very poorApp very difficult to pair to hearing aids, when they do connect they don’t stay connected , when they are connected most of the functions don’t work ie,volume control equalizer etc. waste of time messing with it.Version: 3.0.2

UselessApp only allows for adjusting volume but advertises ability to further adjust treble, bass, etc of settings and programs..Version: 4.0.1

Needs workThese are my second bout of hearing aids. The sound is unbelievable. The new ear piece with side ports are much better in avoiding wax plugs. The batteries are too small for a guy with large hands and fingers to change frequently. I wish the batteries were 13 instead of p312. I can see the smaller hearing aids are more marketable at the expense of functionality. I chose batteries over rechargeable due to using my hearing aids at all times except when sleeping. I’m usually streaming or listening through the TV box or using the phone. Rechargeable hearing aids don’t last long enough and when I’m not home without house current I can change out the batteries without having to recharge. The microphone in the hearing aids are an added feature so I can’t talk or Zoom on line without having the phone close to my mouth. Now for the stuff I don’t like. The application is in need of work. The blue tooth connectivity is a constant problem. I find I am constantly having to reconnect to my phone. I have totally deleted the application and downloaded it from the App Store. I have removed the detected hearing aids from the blue tooth and reconnected on the app. I cannot correct the constant disconnect problem of my blue tooth to both hearing aids. I am going to contact my audiologist again. The smaller batteries last about a day and a half to two days. I feel like I’m replacing batteries constantly. My previous application had the GPS ability to go to the setting that I preferred for that location. For instance when I go to church my hearing aids would go to church setting as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. I hope the feature can be upgraded into the app..Version: 4.4.0

UnreliableThis tv remote is really poorly designed It keeps my hearing aids switch between Automatic and Tv Remote due to loss of connection and each time generating a “ding” in my hearing aids. Sometime it disconnects 20 times in a minute VERY BAD.Version: 4.4.0

Ok but needs improvementWorks well when connected but loses connection and requires removal of the app and reinstalling and pairing again..Version: 4.4.0
