✓ Great game BUT...Fun, challenging but obviously geared to eventually make it almost impossible to keep playing without purchasing help. I’ve been attempting level 92 for days, including with a time reward of free play that I was able to play for approximately an hour. It’s unfortunate. I get you’re trying to make money but there are always individuals who will buy stuff. The game should still be made to be able to play and move forward without having to purchase anything. I haven’t deleted the app yet however, I’m giving it another day of attempts on this level then if I still can’t beat the level will delete. ✓ Not what is advertisedI was hoping for puzzles and riddles, especially given the name of the game and the advertisements thrust into other games I've played. I was sorely disappointed. I have completed the heavily railroaded storyline in 2-3 days of sporadic playing (the most puzzling you will do is maybe twice where you make an obvious item choice). The match game isn't really the most challenging (it took just over 200 levels to complete the storyline and only one tripped me up to the point of waiting for lives to recharge) Too many ads begging you to pay for coins, which I have over 10k of? Basically there's not that much to like about the game in its current state, as the storyline is unfinished and the advertising is misleading..Version: 1.0.12
✓ Was fun, but not since newest updateDownloaded this app about 3 months ago and played pretty consistentlyn some levels are more difficult than others but nothing overly frustrating. Since the update to version 1.5.0, it’s now 6 stars to do complete certain tasks to move forward in the game? And if an task is in 2 parts, that’s 12 stars I gotta use. If the game is going to have different levels of difficulty for game play, make the more challenging levels have more stars to earn when completed. Earning one star per level, yet using 6 stars to complete one task makes ZERO sense. At least let players earn 2 or 3 stars for the hard and very hard levels. At this point it looks like I’ll be stepping back from game play, if not outright deleting..Version: 1.5.1

✓ Original design was betterGame is good, but I preferred the original design, as the new design (as of 04 April) is too child-like and the design of the different pieces are distracting enough that I have problems seeing the best pieces to move. Also, the special items (colour palette within a circle that you had to break a line next to, or the pictures, or the clipboards, etc) are also distracting and take up more space than the original design so you’re stuck focusing more on clearing that space than the actual board. I’ll give it a couple days, but I don’t know if it’s something I’ll keep, which is sad, because it’s actually a game I love to play..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Fun GameThe game is very fun, and you want to keep playing. The only problem I have with the game is there are certain levels that are nearly impossible to pass unless you have power ups or get lucky with the way your pieces are laid out. I have been stuck on a level for two days now and it’s really just irritating at this point. Also with how many stars are required for certain parts of the story. It takes awhile to get them especially when you’re stuck on a level and don’t have any stars you feel like your endlessly playing for nothing and it gets very irritating..Version: 1.6.0

I was really enjoying this game but am now on a ‘hard’ level which is impossible to clear without spending money and I’ve used up all my boosters (which did absolutely nothing to help). The game is now starting to get boring because it’s the same thing over and over with no way of clearing the level - 19 moves to clear 66 items 🙄. If you buy rockets or rainbows, sometimes when u go to use them they won’t show on the board but it takes them off your count. ✓ Frustratingly Difficult LevelsThe “Hard” and “Very Hard” levels are just way too difficult. There’s not enough going for it for me to persist at trying to beat these levels. I’ve been stuck at level 131 for over 3 1/2 weeks & I will be deleting the game. Why would I want to continue playing at a game that creates angst, frustration & madness? Also, as other players have written, the completion of the harder levels should definitely award more stars than the easier ones. There are many points made by other reviewers that are right on the money - speaking of which, perhaps that’s one reason levels are made impossible to win -one must spend money to pass levels! ✓ Ho hum game with glimpses of greatness.I wish I could give this more stars but I cannot. All uniqueness in this game is avoided fairly quickly. Standard Match-3 game. The difficulty ramps up, and that were the game get expensive if you get addicted, as the player is presented with a paywall to play more better. Underhanded but again fairly standard. The unique parts are sidestepped often. The story is pretty interesting, at least for a while, and I wish I could just focus on that, but it does not dive deep enough, and the candy-coated cut and paste puzzles and interface do not match the theme at all. ✓ Not what I thought...The ad that made me download this game made me believe it was a sort of detective/escape room type game but it’s not. It’s a basic Match-3 to collect stars to start the “Detective Work,” which is only there for story purposes. Meaning all the answers are basically given to you as you’re playing the detective. ✓ Glitch?Got to level 385 and I had to bring down the 2 coffee cups and 4 gems. The coffee wasn’t a problem but there were no gems on the level. I kept restarting the app but nothing changed. ✓ Just an opinionBefore I start complaining, I just want to say that this is a very well made puzzle match game. It has a very good story line and I love the idea of completing levels to move the story line along. Riddleside does a very good job of doing this, even though they aren’t the first app to use this idea. The story itself is very suspenseful and full of plot twists that I never could have guessed. My one complaint is this: it takes too many stars to complete some tasks in this game. I am currently on episode six, level 127 and the task I am moving towards takes 7 stars to complete. 7 stars!! That’s crazy! The two or three tasks before this one took 6 stars as well, which just adds to my complaint. Even so, this is a great game and I highly recommend for people of any age..Version: 1.5.1

Some of the freebies, such as getting 2 free moves periodically , have been eliminated and I’m unable to accumulate any stars as I win games. ✓ Just another pay to win gem matching “game”I’ll admit that this game was fun for a few hours, at which point took a dive and revealed its true colors. First, it suddenly took five wins to advance the “story” even a little bit, with severe difficulty spikes; the five more turns extension, which one is heavily steered towards, costs in game currency that accumulates slowly and must otherwise be purchased with real money. The characters were in the game offer disappointing looks otherwise (seriously? Thats just cheap!). Second, the story puzzles (find a clue, put together this or that doo-dad) looked promising but it soon became clear that they would never pose a challenge beyond sometimes featuring small interaction regions, requiring one to poke at the puzzle randomly. Third, the story and writing are dumb, not fun campy dumb, just either written by dumb people, for dumb people, or both. Finally, there is little to nothing gameplay-wise to distinguish this is game from myriad similar ones; even the power ups are basically the same as in various blank scape games. ✓ Wasn’t Surprised[26-04-2019] By the looks of things, someone helped a moron create this application - which is a big step up and an advancement for the moron only. It is understandable for a moron to make mistakes or to not understand things, so it’s understandable why this game is the way it is. An example of this: During play, a notification appears stating that you’ll lose the Sheriff’s badge. Yet in a prior episode, diary entry and video entry, it clearly shows Emmy putting on the Sheriff’s badge. Another problem is with money, what is the point of it? You can’t buy anything or do anything with it, so why does it exist? The story’s text doesn’t even appear long enough to read, so we end up spending more time guessing on what needs to be done..Version: 1.0.5

Wish that the timer/clock for infinite lives would pause while outside of game (while not playing). ✓ Too easy/boring/simpleMaybe it would be ok for children. The game play is VERY easy. I completed all available stories without using a single booster. The bits inbetween the easy match-3 games are simple 'just tap' exercises and involve no skill or intelligence. I'm sure a fish could do it. ✓ One issue has ruined the game for meI enjoy the gameplay and the storyline. The levels are not overwhelmingly difficult and they give you several opportunities to earn power-ups. Yesterday I would have given 5 stars. However, last night I ran out of lives. No big deal I thought; I will just close the game and come back tomorrow. Today when I launched the game I still have zero lives. The countdown only works when the game is running! Each life takes 30 minutes to regenerate so you need to let the game run for 2.5 hours to get your lives back. If you switch away from the game to another app, your phone may decide the game is idle and close it which then stops the timer. I have many mobile games and this is the first one that has done this. The others reset the lives counter while the game is not running. At this point, I have no idea if I will play this again since I don't know when I will get more lives. I strongly encourage the dev team to fix this. I am hoping this is a defect and not a monetization feature (you can spend 900 in-game currency to buy more lives)..Version: 1.4.2

✓ Competitions disable opportunities to earn stars and coinsTo progress through the storyline like most matching games you need to earn stars in order to unlock the next chapters. It’s literally been maybe two weeks or more of on going competitions where players involuntarily participate in these events where we have to play levels and complete objectives for chances to win bonuses. However when the challenge events are enabled, players aren’t allowed to earn coins or stars in order to unlock the storyline chapters. Most matching games I’ve played at least allow you to do this while participating in the challenge. These challenges have been going on nonstop for two weeks or more and I am not getting any further along in the story which is unfair and just another way their pushing you to play more and more levels and use money to get coins used to purchases lives and bonuses rather than allowing to to earn them after completing each level. ✓ Just match three with a story, no puzzlesPerhaps my fault for misunderstanding what this is, I mean, it’s a ‘mystery plot’, I expected there to be puzzles. ✓ Bring back the original Riddleside!Again I thought I would give the newer update the benefit of the doubt, however, I just can’t get into it like the original series, I was hooked right until the end, then this chapter came out.....like a movie sequel which should never have been released, this has spoiled what was an amazing game.
