✓ Conned and frauded out of moneyI have been playing this game for a little while now however be careful if you plan to spend money (impossible to play without doing so) I paid for a pack that has a purchasing limit of 1. The money was then taking twice. I did not receive the pack at all and the dev team told me I had received it however how can I receive the pack twice when you are only allowed one? Clearly not looked into the issue at all as they would see it was impossible for this to happen. Conned and frauded my money with little to no response.Version: 3.11.3

✓ Great game, terrible MONEY GRABBING companyThis game has been really good to play and progress and socialise/strategise and plenty of events to have fun with. The only problem is that by the time you become interested and get close to the max level even after spending £1.5k + from just 3/4 months of gameplay. You will need to spend £10-20k to be a competitive player, the amount of micro transactions and money grabbing from the game developers as well as attitudes or customer services reps is mind boggling. I have never seen such a toxic company with such toxic players (not all, but some that ruin the experience) all based around progression and CONSTANTLY flashing deals in your face with the allure of progressing and playing competitively it’s all money based, not much skill or knowledge needed to excel in this game..Version: 3.14.1
✓ Unfortunate.I’ve never understood why some games don’t have a portrait view when it’s completely unnecessary not to. I can’t play games without it so no matter how good this may or may not be. I’ve downloaded so many games that make you think they have it by the videos and pictures that they themselves are displayed in just to find out it doesn’t. ALL games should have an option for the screen to be rotated even if it isn’t actually played in portrait. I will give it 3 stars purely based on me not having played it enough to know how good it could have been as the lack of rotation killed it for me so don’t take this as any kind of review of how good or bad the game is, it’s purely for my pet hate of the view..Version: 3.3.3
✓ Devs refused compensation after Town skin bugSo I had paid over £8.99 for a survival pass, which gives you a town skin and some additional things to earn. But there was a bug which stopped my town skin from showing, I had raised to the developers and they refused to help or compensate in any way because they said the buff worked but the visual skin didn’t. If this was any other free game where you buy skins like fortnite as an example, they would 100% would help and even compensate. Instead the developers refused to help me and closed the support tickets when ever I told them about the bug and said “the buff works, just the skin doesn’t” but I spent money for the skin too!? I highly suggest don’t spend any money on the game whatsoever. The devs won’t help you and you won’t get any compensation for their errors and bugs in the game. Most things are over priced any ways. They still didn’t resolve the issue you can only play this game on wifi as well, no other game has this issue but this one. It’s some sort of server problem where it only accepts wifi ip addresses and not 4g connections. Has nothing to do with your phone provider but the game servers..Version: 1.10.1

✓ Deleted accounts NO help NO refund!On Sunday a good clan mate who had invested £80k into this app had his account deleted. He had for extra security bound his accounts to all links the game offers. We went to CS on the game right away!! You can all imagine the worry. This is a very expensive mistake on TWD part and players losing accounts daily. Devs offered NO solution towards my friend NO refund or NO account packed with £80k worth of stuff. Have zero faith in the app after seeing how my friend was treated.Version: 4.1.1
✓ Great Game but crashes a lotLove this game but it has become very annoying. Recently it seems to crash and then kicks me out - a lot. Why this is annoying is because it inevitably happens when I am the middle of a defence settlement siege - most often when I only have 1 walker left to kill. So then I have to start again. It also happens when I swap between my games and at times for no reason. I think it might be the pop up adverts that appear but who knows. Shame as I really liked the game..Version: 3.1.2

Why the game can't even open without connecting is strange but more strange is to why it can't connect. I have confirmed the app is updated and that my connection is working. ✓ Same old thing, pay to winPlaying for an good while, 11 million plus power. Nothing fun here Uses, the common build blueprint as all the rest of these kind of games. The ones that spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars win. I kind of expected more from the title. Only one side game that’s very limited and not so fun. However, if you like being farmed all the time from people that spent lots of cash on the game then you might like it also has the common thing that you get hit and loss an bunch of troops and resources, and then get the joy of using all the rest of your resources to heal your troops, just in time to be hit again..... joy joy Oh, and the game is full of tile hitters too! Means they attack your gathering troops all the time. Wished it was more like the show, and not so Pay to win. Stopped paying since I’d need to spend about an $1000 to get into the top 100 players. So FTP now time waster. Been playing for an few months about 8 million power. The only thing that’s better, is that I can at lest farm without getting hit every time I send troops out. ✓ Unfair to certain Servers was a Great GameThis was a great game. Great graphics and game play. Always adding new events and they make no excuses. They want you to know right up front to really enjoy the game it’s Pay to Play. All of that is fine. But now Season 3 just ended and again my server is left to die. While they merge other servers to expand and grow , but if your the unlucky ones like our server your server does not grow and just dies. You can’t merge into another server. You just lost money and time and there is nothing you can do about it. Customer Service is great but cannot make decisions . That’s for the developers and that are unreachable. It’s sad that a fantastic game like this is only for those the Developers choose to grow while others servers die as no merge, no growth , and all the members just quit with no Hope. ✓ Devs worse than EAThe devs actively don’t do what the community begs for and needs. They’re implementing terrible Ideas and going against massive Spenders, high Spenders, casual spenders and free players wishes. All players of all these levels are outraged at the developer decisions and the developers are not backing down to their own insanity. They are completely changing the aspects of the game and then controlling your entire experience by saying how your server will grow or die. By their whim only. And they’ve proven time and time again through terrible matchmaking and terrible pairings that they don’t understand their own game. The people outraged want to like this game. But the devs are either clueless or actively trying to destroy their product. I do not recommend anyone download this game unless the devs start listening to the community. ✓ Pay to win, don’t waste your time.The game’s art style is pretty lame, I’ve seen browser games with better art direction and style. Over all, the gameplay is pretty much what you’d expect from a clash of clans-esque game. You build your town hall, you upgrade buildings and you train your troops. Rinse, and repeat, it gets really boring and pointless after about a month. The in game events are as boring as it’s art style is, they lack creativity and diversity. The rewards usually force you into spending other precious resources, and they are leaderboard driven, so anyone willing to dish out real life money will be the ones to take the gem rewards. You could save a month’s worth of speed ups, but it is so dissatisfying once it is all said and done. The pvp is the worst part of this game, IT IS PAY TO WIN. You can pay to skip town hall levels, you can pay to upgrade your equipment, and you can obviously pay to roll the loot boxes. You can pretty much imagine the state of the game, it’s very one sided, and not even worth your time. I played for two months and checked out a couple of regions just to give my review, unless the devs fix the pay to win, which they won’t, I recommend you save your time/money and take it elsewhere..Version: 1.3.9

Boring with empty servers Matchmaking is unbalanced and you find yourself competing with big spenders and you just become food for their points score There are a lot of events in game but majority is to buy packs. ✓ Not optimized for iPhone 14 pro maxI’ve been reading the reviews and kinda surprised I haven’t come across this issue. The developers have not taken advantage of the larger screen devices. I have a black bar on the top and bottom of the app. The iPhone island is also blocking the texts. May not be an issue for some, but as of now this is really the only game of its kind that has this issue for me. Call of dragons, Viking Rise etc take up the entire phone. Granted they are landscape, but regardless it’s much more optimized. The game overall is actually good. There’s a ton to do and I really do appreciate the graphics they chose to go with. Except for the on field troop graphics. A little too cartoony for my taste. Yes there’s p2w mechanics. But that’s to be expected from a game like this. Pricing is pretty much on par with other games. But unfortunately my pet peeve with it not being optimized makes me not want to play it. I’ll keep the app on my phone hoping they will send out an update for this. ✓ Passes the time, but clan politics get oldThere is no way to solo this game, few ways to casually play it. You must join a clan to exceed at any reasonable pace (with minimal pay to play.) Clans have all kinds of rules and politics that are not supported by the game - so you need to read thousands of messages in poorly auto translated English and keep a working model of all the clan rules in your head. They don’t want you to duel coalition members, but 90% of the active players on the server are members! They don’t want you to take this resource tiles or that one. Don’t steal them from other players. You must build constantly and log in every 24 our you are kicked. Whales spend literal thousands to far exceed anything you could naturally do. It is exhausting, practically a second job. The only social aspect is micromanagement from a 15 year old in France. As I write this review I realize how ridiculous it all is and talking myself out of playing altogether. If devs wanted to make this better they’d implement this nonsense as a feature. Block me from doing things I am not supposed to do. I can’t tap 700 buttons in a mindless fury (core action of the game) if I need consider every tap’s geopolitics..Version: 5.5.1

✓ Needs an overhaulThe game is fun, but only to a certain extent. I seen this game advertised while playing State of Survival. First glance and a couple of plays were great. Especially since it’s so similar to SOS. I even bought an in app purchase. However, the alliances are horrible and extremely controlling. I enjoyed being apart of alliances in SOS because of the relax gaming and not having to talk to anyone but still help each other when needed. This game allows too much to occur with players and there is way to much bullying going on. The rules are insane. Getting attacked and kicked out for not playing for more than a day!? We have lives!! It goes ok in the lower levels, but once you get into double digits, minutes turn into hours and hours turn into days. That has never made any sense to me and interest in playing becomes increasingly less when you start the game up the next day, ready to play only to find units, buildings are still hours away from completing the upgrade you spent resources that took days to accumulate. There’s a frustrating lack of how to play and what each thing does. Yes, I looked for it in FAQ and other sources, but ... ✓ Yea def balancedFirst of all this game is would def be fun, if it weren’t for a couple of people to singlehandedly take down entire clans. There isn’t much point to placing effort in a game when you can just buy your way to being the strongest, and it put players who try. End game of each regions becomes that there will be one clan who then becomes top and an NAP of the rest. It becomes boring the longer the game goes on. Also, the people who spends thousands of dollars in the game suddenly show up to a little feud between two groups and absolutely smashes the one he damages. System doesn’t allow for growth in the game, not allowing new people to grow up and challenge the people who came before them. Game definitely caters to those with big wallets, but you guys gotta rebalance the pvp. The top player can jump into 10 clans a day and singlehandedly wipe the rival clans of their allies easily. Focussed to much on the biggest few spending rather than running a sustainable long term game that would actually bring in more money for them overall from many happy players little and often. Got a problem? Tough luck even VIP support can’t help, blame the devs for everything and say they have no power whatsoever to help. This wasn’t the case when I first started playing. Matching process for seasonal play and server merging is broken or biased. Always ends up in a mismatched season and the strongest servers now merging with other strong servers and the weaker ones merge with no one. Devs need a reality check I’m afraid..Version: 3.15.2
✓ Nice game but can be costlyI’ve been playing for about a year and progress is very slow even if you spend a little here and there. Trying to get the highest troop level and maxed out legendary survivors is a grind. Those who have spent hundreds (if not thousands of $$$) progress much quicker and end up terrorising the server they are in. They constantly attack your base and zero your troop count. To rebuild, takes a mountain of resources and time. I know of plenty of players who have left the game because of this. Other features of the game such as restricted zone play or lines we cross are fun elements of the playing field is fairly even. However, if you come up against a clan that has one or more fully maxed Ezekiel survivors with T10 troops and the swat vehicle, you basically have no chance to win. It’s like sending lambs to the slaughter house. By the way, to max Ezekiel and the swat vehicle will cost you a hefty $17000. It all went so well and I was really super impressed….UNTIL you get to level 12 then you have to pay for missing items you can’t get when you hit camps to upgrade buildings. I looked at the price to upgrade twice and it’s to expensive. Even the shields are expensive. I’m just waiting for some event to happen that allows players to attack me and kill the troops I made 🤣🤣. I’m in a top 1 alliance and I’m sure they will help me, but I doubt I will be going level 13 anytime soon due to missing items you can’t even buy in the alliance store or anywhere else unless you pay for them, which I’m not going to do. I can already tell that will probably be the case from level 12 and up that in order for me to grow I have to spend. Also from reading all the reviews from more than a year ago it doesn’t seem like they will be making any changes to non spenders being able to enjoy the game like spenders do. ✓ Heavily Pay to WinIt’s a fun enough game, but there’s a lot of balance issues, particularly when it comes to whales with large pockets who harass lower level players, making their attacks often devastating to recover from due to troop losses (think T9 vs. T7). ✓ I just deleted this game.I’ve played this game for months before finally deleting it when I got attacked seven times by the same player in a short span of time, while I was asleep. When I spoke to customer service, they just told me I should have put a shield up. Having to put up a shield every time I’m not playing so I don’t get attacked by a player twice my level is just stupid and in my opinion, indicative of a broken game. Also who can forget all those time Rick reminded Daryl to put up the force shield so the Saviors couldn’t attack them. I have no idea why they have force shields and why rubies are the primary currency in a zombie apocalypse. It was really enjoyable but now it’s so weighted to cash players and literally every day the game is having maintenance and bugs and issues. To get the best survivors for 1 formation and gear will cost you over 20,000 dollars (to level 100) and that’s now been increased to level 120! You then can guys vehicles and animals so your looking at over $50,000 dollars to get them and the survivors to max and that’s a low estimate. The customer service is appalling and they always say sorry we are really busy but will get back to you, they do asking but ask for things you have already sent. ✓ PTW DominatedThis is a nice “game of war” clone for The Walking Dead fans but... I have been playing the Early access for about 3 months and notice a huge flaw with the game. If you spot 1 or more whales (Big Spenders) in your server then you might as well stop playing or try a newer server and hope it’s wailing season. I am in one of the top clans in my server and the Whales basically control the power and fun of the game. I witnessed one player just slaughter my clan of 90 players and no one can match him. You either shield and watch the Fire or just watch your castle get harvested. Totally unbalanced you would think a team of 5 to 10 Free to play players could fight 1 whale. But because he spent over £3k just to get the legendary Katanas for his Survivors he has the golden gun... ✓ Money GrabTechnically you can level in the game without spending money, but not really. To progress, the player needs building material (clay) which is only obtainable from either killing walkers or purchasing with rubies. From walkers, it’s a random drop, and in my experience does not drop often. Furthermore, it cost stamina to kill walkers, which you run out of, but regenerate over time. Clay is definitely a choke point resource, which highly encourages players to purchase it with rubies, which will of course cost money. I don’t begrudge anyone a profit, but the devs do not give value for the money and their greed is both quite evident and excessive. I’m probably going to delete. To punctuate my point, the Devs will probably respond to this with a meaningless pre generated response. The developer did respond, pretty much as expected. ✓ Consistent crashing on iPad iOSI’ve played for over 2 years and invested considerably in the game. Over the past several months the game has become intolerably unstable on the iPad iOS and Elex will not acknowledge there is a problem. Instead they are giving priority to expanding TWDS to the PC and offer that as an alternative. They’ve seem to have forgotten the players that have supported them for years to attract PC gamers instead. I have two iPads and dedicate one to just TWDS with no other apps installed and more than half the 32GB of storage available but the game continues to crash often. My iPhone is more stable but is difficult to during outpost battles to war on a small screen. I have VIP status on two accounts but I get vague general statements that the Devs have been notified. Yet, 3 updates have passed like this one and no mention or improvement on iPad stability. Only, more improvements about the PC platform. I thought the pacing was really good and I was competitive despite the fact some people had a slight advantage by paying for things. I decided to use what I learned from my first play through and start a new game in a freshly made region. I was even contemplating buying something to help the developer as I had been really enjoying the game. That was until I realized they moved the 3rd building queue you get from a fairly low level (I can’t remember what it was but it was probably around level 10) all the way to level 22. They are trying to get you to pay for one of the many different ways they offer more building queues for money. I had a friend magically have $1700 stolen out of his account shortly after buying something for this game! If you ‘bind’ your account, they have your Facebook info and Facebook book is big on selling your info. But in general, there is no way for you to just delete and you should be able to. I even looked it up and still no info. This seems to be a trend with games now, why these games are so bent on hanging on your info is obvious. 3rd, it’s pay to win. I’ve logged in daily until this last week, about 110 straight login days in, and I’ve had to reopen the app at least 10 times whenever I want to play. The game will get beyond the loading screen and will crash on the first frame when an offer is shoved in the screen. The game is also only enjoyable if you either shell out hundreds of dollars, or don’t mind being constantly used as a farm for players who spend massive amounts of cash. All the whales will form the top clan and all others have to fight for scraps with no chance of becoming top dog unless you shield and let passive resources carry you to one building’s upgrade every day. I appear to have missed the relocation window but tried to relocate, was allowed to purchase globes which allow you to move server but couldn’t move. Contacted support who said I could reapply after 18hrs. 18hrs came and went and the window ended. Contacted support again only to be told I tried to apply after the window closed but could only apologise even after I requested a refund. ✓ Progress too slowIt is a good game until you get to about Townhall level 16. It takes so long to collect all the stuff you need to build, upgrade, train, research, that it is too difficult to do anything. ✓ Equipment Taken AwayQuestion why did the last update take players equipment away and give them nothing. I worked very hard for my equipment and when I come back to the game it is all gone. Due to this my stats went down drastically and my characters gear is gone. Why? Does the game want the community to spend more money on this game or make it more difficult to advance against the players that spend money like there is no tomorrow. I can tell you that I am in server 143 and a player by the name of Reaperof143 is very vulgar and cares about nothing only to disrespect other players due to his stats. He has made other players leave server 143 due to his arrogance and just attacking players he does not like. Not very good for players trying to advance in the game and then the game taking away stuff they need to become better. ✓ Don’t waste your timeI played this game since the US release earlier this year, and have only seen a downward trend. The developers have shown an unwillingness to listen to player feedback on changes, placing more importance on introducing new ways to encourage players to spend money rather than improving the gameplay experience. Updates will provide no or little information on changes, leaving even mods wondering what events will involve or surprised at changes. Every update will introduce bugs that will never be corrected while new content continues to be pushed. Customer service can be described as poor at best, unable to resolve issues or provide an adequate response to inquiries, that is unless you’re a big spender. Then you’ll need an umbrella for all of the compensation they will shower you with. ✓ Game keeps resettingI had fun playing this game but every time I switched servers I had to play the tutorial and sign in again. Now I can’t even sign in at all. ✓ Read the negative reviews. Don’t do it.I’ve played for about 6 months and paid about $200 into the game. Read the negative reviews and don’t get sucked into this game. It has a lot going for it. It’s fun to meet people from around the world and create cooperative groups to move forward. However, the negatives outweigh the positives. It is absolutely pay to win. Realize there are some people out there who will waste tens of thousands of dollars on this game to bully everyone around. When a few of these people join together, the game is over for everyone else. One of these top spenders can take out an entire clan of a hundred people. After this, you either live under a shield with limited activity, or you sit on the season 1 map and farm vegetables, which is absolutely boring. In the last season they allowed several clans in a server to join into mega-clans. Inevitably, one of these servers will create a mega clan that is stronger than all of the servers on the map put together. At this point there is zero competition because no one else stands a chance. The game is essentially over unless you want to spend thousands of dollars. Simply put, this is a game for people with no skills and a lot of money to waste so they can bully others around. ✓ Be wareThe game is awesome until there is a bug. Then things go missing, equipment for me. I lost it all. I had paid money for some of it. When contacting support, they close the ticket and say I’m making it up. The relationship between consumer and developer is one sided. ✓ The loss of ranking in my own clan.I can’t believe it, I feel disappointed after losing my rank in a clan that somehow became my very first successful clan throughout all games that was like this and then lowered down into the low ranks. ✓ Happy to take your money and not help!I could only access the game on Wi-Fi, raised the issue with customer service who said they were looking into it. In the meantime I purchased a few items to then be told the issue was my phone and there was nothing they could do. Apple confirmed it was not my phone and it was indeed the app, developers still haven’t fixed the issue and are not refunding me. The game is also very buggy, glitched when we tried to take a community, all the good rewards went to the other clan as we could not attack. I’d definitely stay clear of this game at the moment. More balance required on T9 vs T10 etc. Those who casually spend a few $ here or there aren’t really rewarded unless they put big money into the game.
