✓ Love the Country Cottage, but the time of day is off.I’ve noticed that the time of day is off by about 12 hours. When I visit the cottage at 9:30 in the morning the game tells me I have already earned my 500 points for that day, but I can continue to play just for fun. If I visit the Country Cottage at 9:30 at night, I am able to play the games and earn points. I’ve looked everywhere to find out how I can contact JL about this issue, but there isn’t any place to contact the developer. So I am here posting a review, hoping they will see this and fix the problem. I do not want to play the games late at night in order to receive points to fix my cottage. Please help! ✓ AddictiveThe architectural notes are fun, and the recipes look terrific. Changing the landscape and details of the rooms is fun. With the two expansion packs there's enough enough variety in games of solitaire to keep me playing every day. I love the sheep going back and forth, the squirrel, and what is that bird? ✓ New kitchen package really funI downloaded this app months ago- I played the games and renovated the cottage over time- I added the garden package- it took a long time to earn the points needed to renovate the garden as I wanted everything and the points needed to earn items was very high- the points to renovate have now been adjusted so it doesn’t take as long to renovate- the new kitchen addition has been a lot of fun- I was able to renovate all three kitchens with points I had saved up until the kitchen package was available- it was worth the wait- the videos each day were really fun- they can be rewatched in the activity calendar- it was really fun to have three kitchens to work on- if more packages are made and they are as fun as the kitchen package I am sure I will get them- the only thing I would change is the number of games- there needs to be a few more games or activities throughout each package to earn points- I have enjoyed the Christmas app that is made each year, the card app & the coloring book app- thank you Jacquie Lawson & staff for all of your efforts in all of you products! 🌻.Version: 3.0.2
✓ So Relaxing - Also bought Garden packLove this game. It’s beautiful, gentle and relaxing. Graphics are gorgeous. You play mini-games to earn points to clean up and decorate your cottage. I feel the points earning ability is paced just right. I also paid extra to download the garden expansion and very worth it in my opinion. Pro Tip: Make sure you have at least 200 game points available before you buy an expansion pack. I ran into a little bug since I had spent all my points before ordering the expansion pack. It was easy to earn more points in the cottage mini games then I was fine when I went into the garden expansion. Developers: Keep making great expansion packs & I will buy them. Would appreciate more catalog options in the future, ability to interact with pets, and things getting dirty again every so often so I can clean. The cleaning feature is relaxing..Version: 3.0.0
✓ Kitchen hiccoughsI agree with all the criticism regarding loading Kitchen. I was disappointed to receive two ‘blanket’ emails but now that my purchase has been accepted, I am enjoying the new games and have completed all three kitchens. The twelve daily video accessories is a great idea. Hence 4 stars. Hopefully all the problems being experienced will be ironed out soon..Version: 3.0.2
✓ BrilliantLove this app! Word games, puzzles, decorating, and beautiful graphics! And no adverts!!! I play it every day and send messages to my friends from the desk. ✓ Gutted!..........Waited for months for the summer garden expansion...... played games daily and racked up so many points.....SO excited to finally see the update at last........only to find that I have to pay $6.99 plus tax......I thought it was a free game like the country cottage!! ✓ Latest version so much betterVery glad to see the latest version so much improved, my earlier review has become obsolete so I’m changing it. I’m really enjoying the latest version without the frustrating limits. Also the new reward for reaching the goal each day is worth having. I particularly like designing the outside of the cottage and the way the points needed for each thing reflect the difference in outlay that would be needed in the real world, some things need to be saved up for, some can be done fast. I’m looking forward to the promised game additions and will almost certainly be buying the expansion packs when they come out. Well done on listening and improving it so fast. ✓ Love the appI have been a fan and subscriber to JL for many years. This free app exceeded my expectations. In a few afternoons I’ve managed to repair the cottage, exchange several of the furnishings and replace the siding. As others have noted, the graphics are first rate. The music (and nature sounds) are also quite lovely. Finally, I give thumbs up to the programming of Klondike solitaire, which my dear grandpa taught me to play. One can either drag and drop the cards (apparently a good brain workout) or click and select the next move to be made automatically. Many thanks, Jacquie Lawson! ✓ Love the kitchen… finally!Updating my review! Had to first buy the Kitchen expansion,then send it to myself on the website, then activate it! I had to also log out on iPad and log in again…to the Country cottage app, and then finally it was activated. I love it, as with the other apps in the series it is beautiful and addictive. Got more points just for doing the tour. Giving 5 stars, but devs, you need to make the activation a bit clearer for people. Been playing several games in a row in country cottage to build up the points before I do anything, and look forward to playing the new sweets game..Version: 3.0.0
✓ Honest reviewI think (from experience with Jaquie Lawson in the past) this adorable interior design game needs a few tweaks. For instance, I’ve noticed that in the advent calendars the pets move when you finish playing a game, but in this the pets just, well, sit there. The other problem is the repairs cost a lot of gems, for example the tiny writing desk cost 110 to repair! And the roof cost 300! However, having to wait and earn the gems over time teaches you patience, which is good. So, in summary, it’s an excellent game, but could use improvement. ✓ 5 stars for my faith and high hopesI’m a long time Jacquie Lawson customer and fan. I’ve spent many hours happily playing the games and enjoying the graphics of their yearly Advent Calendars as well as their Curio Collection and English Garden. This Country Cottage app could be amazing and entertaining, and it is improving with each update, so I am determinedly hanging on. The people at Jacquie Lawson seem to be very responsive to the reviews and comments people have made, so I find that encouraging. I hope they will continue to improve the app experience with more games, more decorating options, details like being able to shut the curtains (and the outdoors getting dark at night like it does in the English Garden and the Advent calendars). A clock would be wonderful, decorative items to put on the shelves - so many possibilities! I would happily pay for this app as I do each year for the Advent Calendar - hope y’all are listening!.Version: 1.2.0

✓ Games and Rewards Need WorkEither the instructions for the games aren’t clear or the rewards are miniscule. I have to send a card a day to accumulate significant points because the rewards for playing the games are so small that I’ll never finish. ✓ Lost all my pointsI was gifted the Sussex advent calendar, and I fell in love. I love the graphics, music, games, everything about it! I decided to get the Country cottage and bought the kitchen expansion. I was excited about it but very disappointed at the points limit. Also, I had over 1000 + points last night and today I only had 5 points. Why did they disappear? It’s a little disappointing, since I was anxious to fix my kitchen. How do I get them back? ✓ Quiet funThis is a simple, basic game. You can decorate your cottage—a little. And you can play a few little games. But the game with the beads has given me hours of fun without the noise and lights of most games. I play an audiobook and play with no goal in mind.
