✓ This game was better before the last updateI like the way the games look was changed but not the playability. Feels like the game has been tweaked in favor of the game. And by that I mean the cards seem to be directed towards a certain move even when I'm in control. Also, if you're going to add another degree of difficulty you could at least provide opportunities to test drive the new degree. Lastly, there are times when I’m playing the “King” and the game actually moves where I play it, taking my turn away from me. I wasn’t going to post a review because I figured this review would make the game cheat against me even more but at this rate, the cards are already stacked against me! 🤣.Version: 2.13.5

✓ Was 5 Stars - Now barely 1 starI have played every spite and malice game out there and this one WAS absolutely king of them all…. until now. Don’t get me wrong, the game is still super fun but the ads man!! I get you all need to make money and I support that. Having ads run between hands is acceptable and a good solid compromise. BUT then you went and got greedy and changed it to absolutely annoying and downright aggravating. We are now forced to watch ads every few cards played. Can you say EXCESSIVE. How do you expect players to enjoy the game anymore?!?! I would rather play a lower quality game with ads between games instead. Such a huge disappointment. I tend to switch to airplane mode if I want to play as it’s the only way to avoid ads every couple of goes… worse than this is the impossible deals - I just got dealt 5 x 5’s from the central stack (which is supposed to be one pack of cards) so it’s not representative of the real game.Version: 3.1.7

✓ Too frequent adsI have played this app for years every morning. Many of the apps I paid for years ago are now having ads pop up. I am ok with that, I got many years playing ad free, and I know people need to make money. However what is not acceptable is ads that pop up too frequently. I timed it and the ads on this app pop up every 45 seconds. I can’t even finish my turn. Today was the first day that the ads started popping up (the ads that run at the bottom during play have been there for a couple of years and have never interfered with play) and after the first day of ads popping up I am done. I can’t play a game with ads that interrupt game play every 45 seconds. I could deal with every 4-5 minutes but every 45 seconds makes game play miserable..Version: 3.1.7
✓ Very dissapointed with this versionI purchased another version from another seller which I enjoy very much but I wanted somethng harder. Since the "Spiteful Al" version was $9.99 I thought it would be better. Each time you open it you go thru some kind of golf thing and you have to wait till that's over. Plus there is an Advertisement on the bottom of the page where you are playing. The other version I got from another seller cost a lot less and there are no advertisements. Plus this is not any harder. The opponent still sets you up allowing you to get rid of a card from your stack. There is no conscious effort to play wisely. This is a real rip off!!!.Version: 2.13.2
✓ FYI - Paid version still has adsThere are 4 levels — easy, medium, hard and spiteful. For a while I just played easy, medium and hard since they were free. I could deal with ads and the game was still a lot of fun. I received an iTunes gift card for the holidays, so I rewarded this developer for making a nice game and bought the full version. Unfortunately ads are still in the PAID version. It used to be that ads were only in between games, which is not a big deal. There has been an update so that ads now appear throughout and in between the games. I emailed the developer hoping that maybe this was a bug or some other error, but no response. ✓ Project MakeoverProject Makeover ad stays on phone forever. It freezes into that position. It doesn’t give you the opportunity to cancel the ad and go back to the game. The player has to shut their phone off to get rid of it until it comes up again. Then one has to turn the phone on again. All of the rest of your ads only take 30 seconds or less to display their ads then they give you an option to go back to the game. You need to either get rid of Project Makeover or limit them to 30 seconds or less and give the player an option to go back to their game. ✓ Love/HateI really loved this app and have played thousands of games. Now, I am at the point where I can’t win because the app “cheats”. Imagine having one card to go out and the app needs 12 and it wins because I cannot get the one card I need. That’s just frustrating. ✓ Paid version is a rip-offThe free version of this game includes three choices of skill level — easy, medium, and hard. The paid version includes a fourth level called “spiteful,” which I assumed meant it would be extra hard. But after having paid for it, I’m wondering if it really means, “We will take your money just to spite you.” I signed up for the paid version because the “hard” level on the free version had become too easy. But in the “spiteful” version, the app makes frequent, idiotic moves which allow me to win. It plays cards which would be considered amateur moves. It doesn’t play cards that would block me from winning. Basically, the app just lets me win a lot of the time. I didn’t pay for a more difficult version so that the app would let me win. Also, the paid version includes all of the same annoying advertisements as the free version includes. There is no way to take ads out of this game, even if you pay for it. I understand that app developers need to earn money somehow. But if they are going to charge money, they need to provide something of substance to the people who support them. ✓ Malware AdsThis is a fun game, but the company's ad policy is way out of line. There are frequent malware type ads that pop up falsely claiming that there are viruses on your device that require that you scan your device with the product that's being advertised. It also causes a beeping sound that will not go away until you shut down the game completely. I actually upgraded and paid for the Spiteful version of the game and they still blast me with ads even though I have a paid version. ✓ More ads than play timeThis game is the best spite and malice game available, however they can’t seem to keep their ads under control. Currently there are more ads to watch than time playing. ✓ Can no longer play with friendsThe paid version of this game is now a joke. I would give it 0 rating if possible. Used to be a lot of fun and now can’t start games with friends anymore. Can only play against the device. I could have don’t that for free. No more Peer to Peer, etc. Tap on their name and it just spins. I have taken to making a list of all the advertisers and have either DM or emailed them that I would not buy their products due to the excessive ads in this game. ✓ Rules are slightly different...Than that on which I was raised (Aces must be played, Aces and deuces can’t be wild), but it’s close enough. Previous reviewers are right in that you can tell early on who is going to win. Those long streaks just don’t happen that frequently in the real world. It drives me nuts when the opponent blocks itself, doesn’t play a stack card (plays the same from a hold pile), or plays a bunch of unrelated cards before moving a stack card. I see no difference in play between hard (free) and Spiteful (not free). Finally, the game locks up a lot. Usually on the ads. I have to hard close the app for it to run again and it usually requires I leave it alone for several minutes before reopening. All that being said, I still play it daily, but more like solitaire than competitive. I guess I want it to be more challenging and less predictable..Version: 2.13.5

They tend to be long, longer than most other games, and I could live with that, because they were always after the game ended, but recently they started popping up mid-game with no warning, and sometimes it happens more than once in a game. Plus they come on full blast overriding any volume settings on my phone. When that happens, it startles me (and anyone near me) enough to jump. The game isn’t worth it.
