✓ Seriously flawedDon't waste your time and money on a game that is designed to be both unrewarding and slow to play. Hundreds of better options..Version: 1.7
✓ CrapThis was an excellent game yet GameClub has killed it. I would pay a one time price of $50 if they could actually fix it and just keep it fixed. Cannot name character. I’ve firmly decided to avoid anything associated with GameClub after my experience. Good thing I have an old outdated iPad that has the original on it that works perfectly..Version: 1.9.36
✓ Not worth the cash.I bought sword of fargoal in the hope of a rogue-like game, but was dissapointed in this one, for the price I would have expected more. In the end I play Inethack (free) instead, despite spending $AUS4.99 on sword of fargoal. I really wish the developers spend their time adding features, like an inventory, such as more monsters or loot, rather than making their dungeon walls 3-d - which adds nothing to the game at all. Paying tribute to an old title is one thing - making what is basically a port of an old forgotten game is another. Pass on this one people!.Version: 0
✓ Can no longer play gameGame throws a full-screen popup requiring me to register an account. I do not wish to, but it will not let me play the game otherwise, effectively making it a useless piece of software. ✓ Waste of moneyAt first I was thrilled to see again the Sword of Fargoal. I loved the old app and was heartbroken when it was no longer updated to work with later versions of iOS. Too bad this version introduced glitches — screens that freeze, inability to stop the player from walking in a particular direction, and action that can some stall when picking up objects are trying to access one’s sack of belongings. After a call to Apple to preclude the problem was not systemic, I decided to cancel my free month. It’s just not worth it playing a game that does not work properly. Sorry. Rogue, RIP. ✓ What a grindThis game is non stop grinding forever. I ran around the first level got to the second. I was walking around and I fell in a hole seven floors down. I tryed to climb up and the rope snapped. The graphics are awful. The game is grinding if that's your cup of tea buy the game. Try 100 rogues if you want a rogue made in your life span.Version: 1.7

✓ MehI first played this on my Commodore 64. I miss the text version. Here, too few opportunities for upgrade to character, and too many restarts from getting killed, even when a level. Retreat and regeneration takes too long. May as well get killed, regenerate fast, and stick to getting experience points by killing vermin and hope the next level provides enough of a buffer to survive something bigger. ✓ Not that greatThe game has very basic graphics and the playability is not that great either. It is a retro type of game and reminds me of the type of game you played as a child. I got it because of the good reviews. It is a shame that there was not a lite version, so I could have tried it out first... as I would not have paid for it..Version: 0
✓ Frustrated!I'm not giving this a 2 because the game is bad... It's actually pretty awesome. What stinks is that 1/2 the time I come back to the game to continue, it freezes on the continue screen. The only option I found is to uninstall and reinstall, the start over again... I hope this gets fixed..Version: 1.7

✓ No path for previous purchaseI am an original owner of Fargoal on IOS and MacOS. Love the game and the original developers. However, since the game was sold, ALL previous versions broke with iOS updates. This version has no restore option for previous purchase. I am a big believer that if you buy something, you own it. Don't waste you money on a subscription. Before you know it, you will be spending hundreds of dollars on subscriptions a month with nothing to own at the end..Version: 1.9.37

✓ Don't do itBought this on the basis v2.0 would be a free upgrade, well it won't be it seems. Sadly, anyone voicing their concern about this approach is met with a patronizing, aggressive, and downright appalling attitude on the interactive boards. It seems money truly is the root of all evil. The dev's of Star Command got it right by starting a fundraising page, this lot dupe you into paying for this and telling you a free version is coming then take it away when the $$$ signs appear. False advertising, if this happened in the shops trading standards would be all over it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS (pun intended!).Version: 1.7

That better be a bug and not a change in the platform, because I'm not paying a monthly service fee to see ads! ✓ A mish mash that misses the markThis is a weird mish mash if new and old with amateurish graphics mixed with ok graphics mixed with the old crappy sounds from the 80's ... It just doesn't work well, especially with the annoying swipe controls..Version: 1.7
✓ Solid conversion of C64 classicI loved this on my Commodore 64. Its hard to believe that was over 20 years ago. It was one of my favourites back then & I'm pleased to say it translates to iPhone pretty well. It's recieved a fair makeover since I played it last but the semi retro feel is preserved especially in the sound department. This is very playable & can get addictive without even realizing it. The difficulty ramps up nicely the deeper you desend into the dungeon. I think more could be done with this though it is always a fine line to not go overboard and alienate fans who love this just the way it was. At $2.49, I'm satisfied with the nostalgia of this purchase but not sure i'd want to pay much more than this.Version: 0
✓ EhhLots of potential but I'm not too impressed.. Should really throw in a lot of the same features as inethack, powder, etc. the game is a lot of the same, I think it should be switched up a bit... I walk into enemies to fight them? I do practically nothing but wander aimlessly until I find stairs down and useful items while destroying anything I encounter. It's definitely got potential, lets see you take it somewheres.Version: 1.7
