✓ Chess* reviewDo not bother downloading. It makes about 10 moves then says it will move randomly until you buy it. In effect, not free if it cannot play a complete game..Version: V1.52
✓ Good chess but very annoyingIm only writing this review to get the app off my back about doing so. It would be a good free chess game if it wasn't for the annoyingly timed ads that pop up JUST as you're playing a move, sending you on a 30 detour into stuff you don't care about. Good enough if you're desperate and cheap, but maybe check out the other free chess apps first before considering this one. There, chess app, there's your stupid review. ✓ Dear App developerYesterday my Chess App started crashing every time it opened. The link to App Support for your product on the App Store is also not working. I called Apple support and they were unable to help. They think it's because the updates for the app have outstripped the capacity of my iPad Mini to update to the latest iOS. My iPad stops at version 9.3.5. I uninstalled the App and reinstalled it in my attempts at troubleshooting. Before reinstalling, I was advised that an older version of the game would be downloaded - which was perfectly ok with me. But it did the same thing. So now I have to buy a new iPad to be able to play Chess?.Version: 2.86
✓ Grand Master Crushes Hapless BeginnerTwo stars may be a little harsh but, while it was a great app for the first couple of weeks I played, at a certain point it jumped from ‘humanly beatable’ to defcon 4 And despite my rating tumbling back almost to where I started, it hasn’t backed off. (Was it something I said?) ...other than making me feel like a 5 year old it’s a good app..Version: 3.07
✓ Not for beginnersThis is a good chess simulator and definitely one of the best for experienced players. There is an issue in that firstly the computer does not play like a human, with instant moves and the ability to predict you with a frightening speed, for example if you were to move the king pawn out on say novice (which is about the 5th highest difficulty) with in two moves it will have predicted and countered whatever opening strategy you had. The other issue is that the difficulty settings are misleading with novice being a serious challenge to casual players. In short if you are a casual player I won ld suggest downloading this as it is free and looks amazing but be ready to be confined to the first three difficulties..Version: V1.55

✓ LeaderboardJust checked the leaderboard. Wow, there are hundreds, maybe thousands, don’t know exactly, gave up scrolling after several hundred players all with identical ELO ratings of 3,000. Really? 3,000? That’s higher than Magnus Carlsen’s highest ever rating of 2,882, the highest chess rating in history! These players obviously know how to hack the system. This just destroys any credibility for this otherwise nice app. Hey Mastersoft, how about fixing this to make ratings realistic for us honest players..Version: 3.16
✓ Quite poorI can play chess really well but beat level 💯 easily. In only 6 moves! And my brother who can’t play chess well needs coaching and hints but I can’t find them! The computer is too easy to beat. My mother who can play chess okay beat level 18 in only 4 moves! ✓ ReviewI paid for this chess to be add free years ago. Then after the chess app updated suddenly adds reappeared. The only way the fix it was to pay a second time to be add free, which I did. The other gripe I have is the app nagging me to provide this review. I should have an option when asked to do the review to choose “No, don’t ask me this again.” Instead, I get a pop up every time I play asking for the review. Really? Every time! ✓ Not badA good chess engine, however playing an inanimate opponent has its disadvantages. The computer tends not to fall for tricks such as forks, skewers and pins, which gives the game a different feel of play from in real life..Version: V1.73
✓ Constant Click TrapsThe creators of this app are not content with only having advertising surrounding the board, they also have designed them to pop up on the screen when you are in the middle of making a move, causing you to go to the app store to start downloading their advertised app. They also constantly ask for reviews after almost every game. This constant advertising ruins an otherwise well designed game..Version: 2.47

✓ Good app but plagued by adds.There are way too many adds,every new game a full screen ad pops up and you don't expect it so you click and get sent to a website and the App Store, it wastes so much time, kinda puts me off playing, there just so annoying. Before the previous update the levels were easier to complete but now they are harder to beat but I guess it's not a bad thing. ✓ Still on the fence with opinion but enjoying!The red and green arrows are a brilliant idea and easy to follow for those who learn visually! However, for myself and many others who learn from written information/instructions, it is a little lacking. It’s still a great learners app and will continue working through all the levels 😊.Version: 4.77
✓ Good graphics, but really annoying!Really nice graphics here but some ridiculous problems. The app keeps forgetting which side is the computer, and half way through a game you'll suddenly be unable to move your pieces and can only moe the oppositions instead! And it keeps declaring checkmate when the king'd not even in check! Finally you can't turn the sound down, even with the iPad/phone's volume down, the sounds keep coming..Version: V1.61
